iKeyless Reviews Summary

IKeyless exhibits a mixed reputation based on customer feedback. Positive aspects include prompt shipping, competitive pricing, and instances of effective customer service, with some representatives receiving commendations for their attentiveness. However, significant concerns arise regarding product quality, particularly with defective remotes and the lack of clarity about whether items are new or refurbished. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support, long response times, and frustrations with the returns process. Overall, while some customers express satisfaction with their purchases, many highlight systemic issues that detract from the company's reliability and customer experience.

I bought a key in November of 2018. It was all scratched up, obviously used. I waited almost 3 years and got no response after repeated emails. They ignored all my emails.

Scammers
March 13, 2020

They are not clear about their process. I ordered a key for my 2011 CRV Honda and it just came as a blank key with zero instructions. IKeyless also forces customers to write an approval review on the ease of ordering for the invoicing menu to come up! When you look at their website you see all these great misleading positive reviews. I suspected this was false (after I ordered) so I immediatly called their 800 number to cancel during their store hours and just got their voice mail. The only way to cancel was to call them and they never returned my call! Do not use their mail services. Best to drive locally to a dealer or a company that does this for you.

Lousy
September 18, 2019

I ordered the keyless remote with the impression I could program it myself... no instructions were included so I went to a locksmith and its defective, one of the buttons wouldn't unstick and it wouldn't program properly. I will never use them again. So much for saving money

Horrible Company!
February 20, 2019

IKeyless sent us a key that could not be programmed. Attempts to contact the company several times were unsuccessful. The company's phone system puts you in a loop and no human ever comes on the line. The email address is bogus as well. Junk, junk, junk! Do not purchase from this company!

BUYER BEWARE!
January 9, 2019

I recently purchased a remote for my 2014 HONDA Civic. I thought I was buying a brand new remote. On my order it did not indicate whether it was new or refurbished,; as they do on ebay or amazon. I didn't find out it was refurbished until I got to the dealership where they pointed out the scratches on the cover and the sticker on the inside. They did get the remote programmed. If they couldn't get it programmed I get charged an additional programming fee and key cutting charge. This is why I was hesitant about getting it done with a refurbished key. I wouldn't have purchased if I knew is was refurbished. I called the company and got a run around. They told me it was in their terms and conditions, which was at the bottom of the page. I told them it should indicate which you are getting new or refurbished) on your order page as others do. BUYERS BEWARE!

Bad Key
December 31, 2018
Previous review

IKeyless (https://www.ikeyless.com) is a questionable operation/company. I received a smart key from them for my Mazda CX-9 that contained an emergency key that could not be cut by the Mazda dealer. Luckily the Mazda dealer was excellent to me and charged me their cost ($52.38) for a legitimate emergency key. In comparing the key received from iKeyless to the key from the Mazda dealer it was obvious the iKeyless provided key was of poor quality. I contacted iKeyless by email and actually spoke to a customer service representative a couple of weeks back (after no response to email). However, no response. On the bright side, the electronic components of the smart key does function.

RMA#******* - called company because I needed a replacement key for 2008 Nissan Sentra. I told the customer service person I spoke with that the dealership's cost for the key is $150+ dollars for one key ($46 Key and $100 programming + tax). The customer service Rep immediately told me that they would provide the key at a must lower cost and was quoted a price of about $78.00 for which I paid. I sent in all of the requested documents. When i got my key, it would not crank my car. I have asked for FULL REFUND of the key. Key has been returned and received by the company but I only received about a $20 refund. ANGRY AS HELL - they never told me that the key would not work unless I took it to the dealership which was STUPID because that means I had to pay ikeyless $78 for a key that would have only cost $46 at the dealership. Furthermore, why would I agree to pay $78 for key that would then have to take to the dealership and pay an additional $100 to get the key to crank my car. It would have been better if I went and paid the $152 rather than paying iKeyless an additional $40+ dollars. SCAM - RIP OFF

Ripped Off
July 13, 2017

Ordered key and remote with key cutting service. Key works great, remote is useless. Dealership nor locksmith were able to program. Both stated remote was defective and should be returned. Customer service would send replacement but stated I have to pay yet again for attempted programming. Unfair practices. Stay away!

Took my key from ikeyless for my Acura MDX 2004 into both Ace hardware and the Acura dealership. Ace said there was a chip but after many attempts they couldn't program it. Acura said there was no chip at all and it was $45 for a new key. Ikeyless responded to my problem on day 30 of my purchase apologizing and saying the 30 day warranty had just ended. BAD BUSINESS.

Great, dependable company
February 15, 2017

Short version: they were excellent. Swift delivery and process of return. Very helpful on the phone, especially Ben!

Long version: We tried two different remotes, before bringing the remote and the vehicle to the dealership. The dealership told us it was the door lock actuator. That was too expensive for us to fix, so the second fob just sat in a drawer for a few months. We finally fixed it and the fob still didn't work. I didn't expect much, but I figured "what the hell." So, i looked up ikeyless and called them. I explained our situation and they worked with us to figure out which remote we needed. It turns out it was the first one we sent them. They mailed the replacement and even included a little lighter flashlight. For free. As stated, excellent company that takes their customer satisfaction seriously. Thanks Ben!

Completely happy
February 14, 2017

I recently purchased a pre owned vehicle and the remote was missing. The dealer wanted $225 to replace it. I went online to IKeyless and ordered the one I needed. I had it in two days. The dealership programmed it for me as it was not something I could do myself. It took about five minutes. I am one very happy person.

I ordered a new key for my 2007 Honda element and then I got the key I tried to insert knowing it would not start the car. Basically your Honda remote transponder key has a chip in it that emits a signal to the vehicles PCM computer. If the PCM accepts the signal, the car either unlocks or starts, depending upon what the driver is trying to do. This is not a key you can run down to the hardware store or the home improvement store to replace or duplicate. But the key was too wide and too thick, I called them and explained the issue and they wanted a photo of the two keys side by side. I did that and they called me back and said the key was not cut correctly and it was the wrong size key my key had a really tiny "V" stamped on it and I should have included this detail. They said they would make a new one and overnight it to me. It being Christmas time nothing was getting through so I got it a few days later and it turned the element over but didn't start it like I knew it would. My local locksmith said he would do the transponder key for $50 and that's a deal over the $130 from the other places I called. 10 out of 10 I would use them again. Order number ******* and Shawn helped me out.

I had 2 keys for a 12 year old Lexus which were broken and taped together around the plastic which held the 'guts' of the clicker. I looked on-line and found iKeyless. I was somewhat skeptical but I ordered 2 blanks. They arrived in short order with 2 perfectly configured keys into which the old internal clicker parts fit PERFECTLY leaving the push buttons exposed as if new. This was a great find and I will have essentially 2 new keys for less than a third the cost of going to the dealer. Great company and, based on my experience with Sarah and iKeyless, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. Great service!

Shawn - Order #744196
December 2, 2016

First, I had a great experience over the phone when I placed my order, but I find it's often on the "return" side of the sales equation that get's less great at times.

One of the keys that I had purchased had a defective chip & could not be programmed by the locksmith I was working with to cut & program the keys I had ordered. I needed the key soon, so I had to purchase a functioning smart key from my locksmith.

I emailed iKeyless an explanation of the problem, along with a copy of my receipt from the locksmith, & with minutes I had received a response from Shawn detailing what I need to do to return the key & receive a credit. I received the "RMA" information shortly thereafter and mailed back the defective key - iKeyless processed a credit with my full refund within a day of receiving back the defective key.

Things go wrong in any business, but taking responsibility in a timely manner, with courteous & responsive people, tells me that iKeyless has a great "culture" in their overall organization.

Thanks Shawn & thank iKeyless!

Scott
