The company has garnered mixed feedback, with some customers appreciating the variety and pricing of products, particularly for children's clothing. However, a significant number of reviews highlight persistent issues with shipping delays, unresponsive customer service, and challenges with return policies, including unexpected fees and lack of refunds. Many long-term customers express frustration over sudden account cancellations and perceived unfair treatment regarding returns. Overall, while there are positive sentiments about product selection, the company faces serious reputational challenges due to its customer service approach and fulfillment issues.

I ordered a black dial watch and they sent me a black watch instead. I'm pissed off, and they called me a girl by a different name in an email response... wtf.
I've purchased a few things from Hautelook. They now offer refunds but... many of things I've purchased have fallen apart, and one time they sent a 3 month old kiddie shirt, which should have been a 4 year old shirt. So then subtract the $8 ship fee BOTH WAYS, (no you can't ship back your own way, you HAVE to use their way), i ended up with a few pennies. UGH. Other times, the material on the clothing has been kinda trashy. At first it was fun, but I'm tired of it the return policies. There are much easier places to shop, get a good deal, and be able to return things for the original refund. Wtf.
Of all the sample sale sites, hautelook is probably my least favorite in terms of sales. However, I did have a great experience with customer service.
I'd ordered a pair of jeans and watched the delivery status online. The package had been delivered during the day while I was at work. Upon returning home, the package was nowhere to be found (I was slightly worried since I live in an apartment). I called their customer service and the rep was extremely helpful. Their reps are easy to get a hold of, very thorough, and well trained. Luckily, it turned out one of my neighbors had taken in the package during the day.
Sometimes they have incredible deals-- like my Jimmy Choo sunglasses. Sometimes not some much--like my green dragon jacket that wasn't even close to the picture on the website.
Overall with a little persistence their customer service does the right thing.
I may be in the minority, but I've only had positive experiences with them. They recently joined the Nordstrom family (and Nordstrom is known for their wonderful customer service), so the day they offered free returns for store credit, I took it. Within a week they had received my return and issued my credit.
I also sent them a customer inquiry about my return, and received a reply within 24 hours. They also sent me a follow-up questionaire on how well they answered my question. I believe they are trying to improve their customer service, since I'm fully aware they were lacking in that department in the past.
My only gripe is the irregularity in price of shipping and speed of shipping, but I believe that just depends on the company they're dealing with, and not HauteLook's blame to take.
Anyway, love the website and would definitely recommend it. As far as the items I purchased are concerned, the original prices that they were marking off were true to retail (if you would buy it from the actual brand's store), so I definitely got my 50-75% discounts worth (and have not been scammed with price inflation). It might exist, but do a little research first and just get a good deal when you can!
I loved the deals they had till I bought something from them. I bought a bag that looked really cute and it arrived with a broken zipper.
I called them and they asked me to print a label which would refund the money and ship back the item for free but they couldn't refund the shipping cost since i bought another item with the order.
Blah! I'm just annoyed. Why don't they look through their products before sending them out.
I order regularly from this website, and I just want to say each time I had a wonderful experience, minus the customs/taxes Canada must pay by law. The prices are still great, with that said. The only issue I have ever experienced, was when I ordered a pair of jeans that came defective. They that had holes in them and were missing tags. I emailed them, they gave me a free shipping label to print out, on top of that they refunded me all my $$ including shipping. I mean, that was awesome how they would do that seeing how it was their fault, but it sucks how the deals are timed, because I won't ever encounter that same pair of jeans.
They pose as a bargain site but they are not. They use deceiving tactics.
I bought 2 chairs through them, supposedly manufactured by Gold Coast Furniture. They were on sale for $300, and their original price was $600. When they arrived yesterday I noticed that they are not from Gold Coast Furniture - that is the name of the "event" under which they hide the real manufacturer's name: Skyline Furniture. Skyline sells the same chair at Target, Amazon and other places, for $300. So the "sale" is also a lie. I bought a full price item from a manufacturer whose name was not the one advertised but they tricked me into thinking I was buying a better quality item on sale. AND the items are not returnable. Deceptive and outrageous. Do not buy from them.
I've only ordered one thing from here and it arrived after about 2 1/2 weeks - something I'd known already. Aside from that, their prices aren't the best for what they offer as similar brands tend to crop up on other sample sales sites. I also have ran into things I might have wanted to buy, but ended up not because of their no returns. And personally, their roster of brands just doesn't appeal to me but they do feature more cosmetics, skin and other items more than the other sample sites.
In all my years of buying from Internet vendors this is the first time I've ever had one of them issue "store credit" for a return. I'm going to try and fight them through my bank's credit card department. I'll never buy anything from them again and strongly suggest that everyone stay away.
So I was looking online for sites like bluefly.com that have great deals, but with "real" items unlike e-bay. Anyway, so I came across hautelook.com and I'm very happy with it. I've ordered tons of stuff, for example, leather boots, watches, sports clothes, and dress clothes from the website and I have no real complaints except the delivery time. However, looking at how much I save - the wait time doesn't really matter. More importantly, the stuff is real and I can vouch for this because I have clothing and items from the same brands.
Cons: I've heard the customer service is a bit iffy, but I haven't had to call them about anything and I've made 10+ orders.
Conclusion: I really like the hautelook.com and the site has good stuff that comes up, so keep your eyes out for em!
I purchased a WHITE pre-owned Dolce & Gabanna peacoat from www.hautelook.com for about $500 in total (incl. Tax and shipping) during their "decadestwo 1 Italian label" event in late February, 2011. I normally don't buy pre-owned items but the pictures they offered showed a flawless coat and their description mentioned "next to new condition", so I ordered it. The item arrived on March 1,2011 and I discovered a thin stain on the front of the coat (which looked like a pen mark). I immediately reported it to hautelook.com. I opened the coat and also found multiple dirt stains all over the lower edge inside the coat. Again, this is a WHITE coat and stains are fetal for white coats! This case was also reported and filed (I sent pictures of this to hautelook.com reps). Hautelook.com refused to let me return it since it was a final sale and offered me $50 for dry cleaning instead after a few days of dispute. I said I prefer to send it back and have them dry clean it and then send it back to me; and that if the stains are all out, I'd be more than happy to take it back. They emailed me back saying, all they can do is giving me $50 and if the dry cleaner is unable to get the stains out, it is their (dry cleaner's) responsibility. Either way, it is my fault to buy a bad product and they will not take a responsibility no matter what. I think it is my right to get what I paid for- I paid for a "next to new condition" coat, not a dirty used coat that I would have NOT bought if it was accurately described. I decided to report this so that there won't be victims like me in the future and that hautelook.com stops deceiving their customers. Anyway, if you buy anything bad from hautelook.com, know that they won't take the responsibility.
First time I placed an order with them everything was fine. Received the item in about two weeks, which is slow but tolerable. The second time I was caught up in the "we didn't get the full order from the company" scam, and it's been over a month and still have not received my pair of boots or a refund. I am going to put the matter in dispute with the credit card company. Plus their customer service people on chat are RUDE. This is a really BS website. I could have ordered those same boots off of Amazon or Endless and had them by now. Don't waste your time and money by giving it to these fools.
The deals are good, but the customer service sucks. I ordered some shoes in the size I always wear, but when the arrived they were way too big. I understand I can't exchange due to the nature of the way things are ordered, but I ended up losing $12 on a pair of shoes I couldn't even wear. The only credited back the price of the shoes, not including shipping. And on top of that, I had to pay return shipping. Because of this, I won't be ordering anything here again.
Best site for name brand shopping. Look for deals 85% and up... everyone should know shipping takes time your not in a store... tracking your item works great. I always copie and paste everything I am interested in and check it out on other sites. Some of there prices blows everything else out of the water.! Probably have spent over 6000$ on the site. Watch deals are amazing, I have a whole watch collection going that I would have never started without this site with there deals. Origional package etc. people who are complaining should go shop in retail stores and pay the full price. My opinion.
I have used this site many times but have banned usage from this point forward. Though the inventory is decent their customer service is awful & they grossly mis-represented their "white glove delivery service". I was charged an exorbitant amount for shipping and was alright with it if I was getting what I paid for. All they did was deliver the merchandise. I called up the customer service who could only give me $20 store credit & informed me the manager would call me. She (Roda- or something) never did. It's been over a week now and I am not going to shop there anymore. They have lost a great customer. I've probably spent over $2k with them. Au revoir! No loss for me. My credit card will thank me!
I bought an offer from non-refundable " Getaway offers"! Guess what I called the hotel the night before my trip to check the prices, they offer me the same room for 25% less money. I paid 180.00 to Hautlook offer for Lanai Garden room in Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego on November 27 2010. Hotel offered 120.00 dollars when i called the night before. DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU.
I ordered from hautelook.com on Oct. 14 and still haven't received my order (its 11/2 now) This website is beyond misleading. Upon checkout, it states your order will ship in 10-14 business days and items are returnable. HERE'S THE FRIGGIN' CATCH. The 10-14 days is how long it takes for the retailer to ship to hautelook and then your item can arrive anytime after that. THEN an item is returnable only for store credit! I talked to CS rep and the lady stated "we hope that people will read the FAQ's to know that we only give out store credit." Seriously?! I needed the item for an outing and called to cancel it because it was approaching 14 days and its still in friggn transit... Who takes that long to ship!?!?!? Needless to say, I've very displeased and WILL NOT be shopping from this site again because i don't like to feel like i've been "scammed" when making a $100 purchase.
It was the first time I ever ordered anything from this site and my first purchase here already displayed bad customer service. Apparently my order was disregarded not handled properly because only until I emailed where my shipment was, and why it did not even reach the first step, did I ever receive any notification. And it was because of my question that it was finally put to the first step. That is terrible customer service especially since this was already charged to my credit card days ago when I had purchased this item. The fact that my first purchase was not accounted for and that it was me who had to take action for my item to be shipped and not HAUTELOOK tells a lot about your customer service. The email I received did not apologize for anything either, it was just a straight up email telling me that my item had finally been shipped out right after I complained where my shipment was. Please pay more attention to your customers, terrible service. I'm unsatisfied with HAUTELOOK and plan on letting others know about my case.
Why the heck do I bother to pay for shipping when they never do anything about my order in the first place.
Answer: Try to obtain as much information as you can about the model and make of the watch. This also includes pictures. Look for the serial # and other things such as the setting, dial, band, etc to see if it's correct. Make sure you can return the item if your not satisfied before you commit to buying. Also have a reputable Certified Rolex dealer look at the watch if you do choose to buy. You can have papers reissued if the watch is authentic. I hope this helps.
Answer: As of April 2021 they have not improved. Probably worse.
Answer: Good luck with dealing with Hautelook. Look up there customer care number on line
