The company has garnered mixed feedback, with some customers appreciating the variety and pricing of products, particularly for children's clothing. However, a significant number of reviews highlight persistent issues with shipping delays, unresponsive customer service, and challenges with return policies, including unexpected fees and lack of refunds. Many long-term customers express frustration over sudden account cancellations and perceived unfair treatment regarding returns. Overall, while there are positive sentiments about product selection, the company faces serious reputational challenges due to its customer service approach and fulfillment issues.

I absolutely love Hautelook customer service. Sure, they aren't open on the weekends but I just spoke with them and they were so accommodating about issues I had with returns. I could tell that they take customer service seriously, unlike other companies who don't care about the customer, just about the money. I had an issue with a return and was about to swear off Hautelook completely but they took such good care of me so I will definitely use them again. They don't advertise the 21 day return policy very clearly so just be aware of that if you want to return an item. Other then that - I'm completely and totally satisfied!
I had been ordering from this company off an on for about a year without incident (although the retail price is always over-stated). I recently ordered a Dawn Levi jacket and was told, via email nearly 2 weeks later, that the jacket was unfortunately not in stock and I would receive an immediate refund and a $10 credit. Problem was that I could have ordered the same exact jacket on Gilt for the same price but missed my opportunity waiting for this jacket from hautelook. The $10 credit was an insult on top of it. I won't order from them anymore.
This is the first review I have ever written in my life, I was so upset with what happened, I had to share it with others so people are not cheated the way I was. We buy from Hautelook regularly; we also view the emails daily as they do have nice things on their website. Saying that let me also say the following:
We purchased a watch on (8/24/12) from their website and received a confirmation email (order #*******) stating changes and cancellation are not allowed and that it is a final sale. Then 8 hours later we received 2 new emails saying that our order was cancelled based on our request (which we never made) without any explanation. We called the customer service and their response was "I am showing there was a product issue and we cannot fill your order". No other explanation, upon asking her what the issue was with the product and stating that we have purchased this item from your website, which Hautelook put up for sale her response was, " we don't have these items and we have partnership with vendors" so there is no guarantee you will receive your order.
For a company owned by Nordstrom, which prides themselves in customer service, Hautelook is atrocious. The rep on the phone was rude and had a nasty attitude; it felt like she was doing me a favor by talking to me on the phone. After this entire situation my understanding is Hautelook doesn't care about its customer, has extremely poor customer services employees, are unable to fulfill their promise to consumers and has very poor business model.
As a professional looking outside in, I hope Nordstrom will retain Mckinsey to go in and clean house, as Hautelook is unable to fulfill their basic promise to consumers.
They've messed up my order twice! By the time you get your stuff which is usually forever the item is most likely sold out and all they say is sorry and offer a 10 hautelOok credit (after the second time). Disaster!
This operation, now apparently owned by Nordstrom, is not set up to quickly fulfill orders. Standard operating procedure is to offer great-looking merchandise, charge your credit card immediately upon order placement, then provide no information on when delivery will occur. My experience is that clothing takes 10-15 days to ship, and there is no status report or update provided in the interim. I ordered a chair on June 18,2012 and as of July 5,2012 it continues to show "at hautelook warehouse" with an expected arrival date of July 12-23 -- with no shipping information.
They do not appear to have the merchandise the are charging for on-hand and ready to ship. That is how this business operates. So, if you want to pay now and wait with no information about what is going on -- this site is for you. There are other sites such as gilt.com and myhabit.com that ship orders the day they are placed. I'm holding off on doing more business with hautelook until they get their fulfillment system together.
I ordered a pajama set and it fit perfect, pleased with the price as i'm not going to pay full price at Nordstrom (munki munki). Later i ordered a piece of jewelry for my sister, great price and quality (Swarovski). Both were specific items that i had not been able to find elsewhere and amazing values. When you order it provides an estimated arrival date, it wasn't quick but i wasn't in a rush for either order.
Nothing but great experiences. Easy to return an item and most everything I have gotten has been better than expected!
Only downside is the wait for most items!
I love their website and their prices. Always on time shipping. Thank you so much!
Garbage. Placed an order for a 450 dollar bag marked down to 250. They charged my credit card and didn't ship anything. A month later I ask what's going on with the order and they tell me they oversold and are refunding my money. What a scam. Avoid these bums at all cost.
Well, my friend insisted I check out haute look... I love their pricing. Unfortunately, they RARELY have plus-sized clothes (no, XL is NOT plus sized) so if you are a bigger girl- it may just make you sad watching all these amazing clothes at awesome prices that you can't even DREAM of fitting in...
I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED YOUR SITE HOWEVER, I BUY A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF ITEMS ONLINE AND HAVE BECOME QUITE INFORMED ON THE INNER WORKINGS OF MANY HIGH END CLOTHING DISCOUNTERS. HAUTELOOK IS ONE OF MY FAVES. HAVING READ DISPARAGING REMARKS HERE ABOUT HL'S CUSTOMER SERVICE; I MUST POLITELY DISAGREE. DID YOU KNOW THEY WERE OWNED BY NORDSTROM. AND MOST EVERYONE KNOWS THAT WAS THE STORE THAT MADE THEIR REP ON 'CUSTOMER SERVICE'. THEY WERE THE FIRST TO ACCEPT RETURNS (NO QUESTIONS ASKED) WE'RE TALKING 50+ YEARS AGO! THEY ALSO, LIKE GILT, OFFER YOU A CHOICE WHEN IT COMES TO RETURNING ITEMS. THEY ALSO HAVE SOME KILLER DEALS ON SOME MORE OBSCURE LABELS SUCH AS MUUBAA (INCREDIBLE HAND OVERDYED LEATHER JACKETS ETC.) SO, DO GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE AND, IF YOU END UP WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE; 99% OF THE TIME, YOU'LL BE SERVED WELL!
I ordered a lamp that came in damaged. Customer service promised a replacement in two months! It was a pain to wait, but I said I would. Two months later when I called to check the status, they said it "wasn't available anymore" and issued a refund without me even agreeing to a refund (even though they were selling that SAME LAMP on their site 2 days later for more money). I think they didn't want to sell me the lamp at the lowert price I paid, that's was they FORCED a refund on me. Customer service was rude ansd hung up on me several times!
I didn't know you American can trick customers on website selling!
I order a bracelet and a pair of pearl studs. They finally came to my mail. But I was just so disappointed and would never buy from them again nor recommend to my friends. The real goods compared to the one in the pictures on the website is like the burger you have compare to what in the pictures. That pear studs were too tinny for me to wear. And the bracelet was not pretty at all either. Well, it's my mistake to trust the commercial pictures too much. But no, don't expect much from them
I have been a long time user of hautelook, and I loved it! It does take a while for items to get to you, but that didn't bother me. The last few items I have bought have turned out to be nothing short of terrible. Either the wrong item was shipped, it never got to me and they wouldn't refund, or they sent me wrong sizes. It's been a headache and they don't value their customers. For the wrong items I got, or the ones that never were delivered, a simple $10 credit would be fine with me. If they looked at my shopping history, they would know I'm a valued customer.
Alas, they didn't care, so now I shop at better discount websites such as:
looksy.com
ideeli.com
6pm.com

Ahmazing website. You get credits when friends make their first purchase. Great buys and great products. Everyone should know about this site!
I've been using Gilt Group and My Habit for quite some time. I stumbled across Haute Look and was intially very excited by their low prices. Now the excitement is replaced by anger, frustration and incredulousness at how lame their site is. First, it takes FOREVER to get your items. Second, when you inquire as to the status they don't respond. Sometimes they even just cancel your order. Thirdly, I just price compared with another site and they're offering the same merchandise for the same price but Haute Look's shipping time and charge are much longer/higher. Ugh. Not worth it. By the time I receive my items I've forgotten they were even coming. Too many other great websites out there for this that don't charge you for shipping, offer great customer service and get your items to you in a timely manner.
I am now 0 for 2 with Hautelook! My first order, in January of this year, was cancelled on their end and my 2nd order was wrong. I placed it on 3/31 and just received it today. But they sent me the wrong dress in the wrong color. The CS rep, Taylor, was nice, and offered me Hautelook credit but what good is their credit if I'm reluctant to purchase from them? Paying less is nice but irrelevant when you don't receive your order.
Suffice it to say I am extremely disappointed in them and, despite all of their cute merchandise, I can't foresee putting myself through their nonsense again. I'll just continue to purchase elsewhere as MyHabit, RueLaLa, Gilt & Editor's Closet as well as others all have great merchandise at a great price and you actually receive your order... novel concept!
Buyer Beware! First, it takes a very long time to receive your merchandise from this company - on average two to three weeks. Second, make sure you will not have to return the item Returns are a nightmare. I have been waiting a very long time for my account to be refunded. I had to contact the company twice and I have already been waiting almost two weeks and the rep. Is tellling me it will be another 3 to 5 business days before I receive a credit to my account. My advice, purchase items somewhere else unless you are sure you will not have to exchange or return them. Will not purchase from Hautelook again. Too much hassle.
I've been using Hautelook for a year or so & placed many orders. All I can say is: it is only good when you don't need their customer service. Their customer service is considerably the worst among similar sites IMO. My recent experience is that I ordered a $40 ring. It's shipped actually quite fast & I was tracking it fine. But the day when I supposed to receive it from UPS, I didn't get it. I checked UPS site & it said something like "sender confirmation needed, in complete address." I first tried to email UPS, then I emailed Hautelook asking them to call the UPS(can't call cause office already closed.) The next day, UPS replied me & said they've sent my inquiry to my local UPS station. But Hautelook never replied me. Tracking revealed that the package was returned to sender already(we're in the same state so it's quick.) The next day local UPS manager lady called me. She said they have to return the package since the sender "used the wrong part of the shipping label" so the driver can't determine the receiver's name. She gave me her name & told me if the sender want to charge me shipping fee again she can provide proof for me that it's not my fault in any way. I thanked her & wrote Hautelook another email asking what'll happen to my ring next. Again, no reply whatsoever. A few days later I called Hautelook Customer Service. A girl named Laura first told me those returned to sender package will go back to merchant & then they'll credit me back. When I asked how long she said one week! (Seriously, I won't say that if I were you Laura.) Then when I asked why my emails weren't replied, Laura sounds a little confused & said emails will take a week to reply. (Really?! As fast as how you credit my money back? I won't say that if I were you Laura cause the confirmation email I got always says you guys will reply within 24 hrs!) I quickly said bye to Laura cause it's easy to see that she has just no idea what she was talking about. Now, 2 weeks later, guess what? No credit & no reply emails -- no surprise!
At first I was excited to see they were selling Juicy Couture so I bought four items all IN TIME all AVALIABLE. Three weeks later I recieve a return email saying they had to refund my money because they didnt have the bag I ordered. That crushed my dreams. THEN a week later I recieve my order and I had ordered a pair of Juicy couture shoes size 6. What they sent me was a RIGHT shoe size 6 and a RIGHT shoe size 6 1/2! Two RIGHT shoes completely different! Who does that. I am extreamly dissapointed.
Answer: Try to obtain as much information as you can about the model and make of the watch. This also includes pictures. Look for the serial # and other things such as the setting, dial, band, etc to see if it's correct. Make sure you can return the item if your not satisfied before you commit to buying. Also have a reputable Certified Rolex dealer look at the watch if you do choose to buy. You can have papers reissued if the watch is authentic. I hope this helps.
Answer: As of April 2021 they have not improved. Probably worse.
Answer: Good luck with dealing with Hautelook. Look up there customer care number on line
