Maxsold exhibits a mixed reputation, with positive feedback highlighting efficient communication, smooth auction processes, and satisfactory customer experiences for both buyers and sellers. Many users appreciate the value they find in auctions and commend the professionalism of the staff. However, significant concerns arise regarding misrepresentation of items, lost goods, and communication issues, particularly during pickups. Customers also express dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and the company's response to service failures. Overall, while Maxsold has a solid base of satisfied users, addressing operational shortcomings and enhancing customer support could improve their reputation further.

I use MaxSold more now than eBay. Trustworthy, efficient, and professional. Not a bad thing to say!
From the first auction I participated in, in Brooklyn, NY to the last one two weeks ago in NYC it has always been a crazy, fabulous experience. The employees of Max Sold are always helpful and courteous. I love that they have auctions in my area.
Never again will my husband and I participate in a MaxSold Auction! It's an integrity issue - buyer beware!
Between my husband and myself we have been the winning bidders in at least 25 Maxsold auctions in the past year. An extremely user friendly and secure website, fabulous items and A+ customer service are the reasons why. We mainly purchase collectibles but I have also picked up numerous household items for 2 sons who have moved out on their own including pots and pans, dishes, art work, night stands, an antique dresser and books. The deals are so good I declared I wasn't buying anything new at the mall again!
For anyone on the fence about using MaxSold I recommend checking out their Past Auctions link and seeing for themselves what was available and what things sold for.
One of the things I like best about MaxSold is that as a buyer I don't have to go to some stranger's home or meet them in a parking lot to purchase.
I have been a buyer for over 2 years now, I believe in frugal living and recycling. The items that I have purchased I have given them a new home, and a longer life. Some of the things I have purchased were to upgrade my own items such as a set of Royal Doulton dishes, from my mixmatched everyday set I had. I have recommended Maxsold to many a friend and family members as a way to acquire things they may not have had a chance too, all done from the leisure of their own living room via a computer. Upon pick up of the items they were as described and pictured online, the staff were pleasant and professional, and I will continue to be a buyer for a long time.
I started as a buyer a few years ago, and have bid and won so many great items from a lot of different sales. I know there must be competition because I don't always win, but I have many times.
A while ago my Aunt passed away and we used this company to clear out her home, and the whole process was wonderful. We were sent directions on how to get ready and how to group the stuff, then after the team came and did photos I got emailed a proof reading version for me to add notes to, and was only a couple things that I asked to be updated because it was good already.
The sale went on for about a week, and we sold pretty much everything, and it really helped us get the home cleared out. It was an emotional process but they were all so nice and understanding it made it easier. I knew not everything was high value, but we had less work to do that if we had tried ourselves.
We had a family gathering after the sale, worked all together to get the bits of cleaning and tidying up, as we knew some items hadn't moved in 15 years (the dust under the wall unit WOW!) But we knew we would have things to clean anyway, and no more mess was left than what you would find if you moved all your furniture that had been in place for so long!
I found the whole process great, we ended up with a small profit, but best was that my Aunts things found new homes with people who will hopefully enjoy them like she did, and we got the home empty without having to do the heavy lifting.
I am still buy things, and will continue to do so... maybe until I have so much I need my own sale LOL. But all in all the Max sold team was really good and we got what we expected. The only bad part is that you get hooked and buy stuff all the time ha ha.
I've recently gotten into collecting old books and old cameras. I was wary of going to pawn shops in town, and thrift shops turned up nothing. I then turned to MaxSold auctions and instantly I was sold. I have gotten some amazing purchases. Recently I bought three vintage cameras and I could not be happier. I had paid a lot for them, and that was ok. The service upon pick-up was fast and polite. Not once did I worry about the security of my items or damage. The items were as pictured on the catalogue. I'm a regular bidder now and I love it!
MaxSold is a great site for collectors!
I am a frequent buyer from MaxSold. While picking up my purchases I have found the staff to be very respectful and careful with the owner's property. They have the items sorted out and only allow a few people in at the same time. I have attended to the sites following the close of the pick up and I have always found the sites to be left in a clear order. MaxSold seems to me like a very respectable company offering tremendous service to the owners and also to people like me who appreciate a quality bargain... I highly recommend MaxSold to the potential sellers and buyers looking to purchase some of the most interesting items that former owners treasured... I am attaching a photo of my latest (refurbished) purchase.
I have been buying from MaxSold for over 2 years now and have nothing bad to say about the company. The listings are always top notch and I am able to view the auction items clearly. Upon arriving for a pickup the team is friendly and greet you with a smile. I have not waited in line for any length of time and have been escorted into the home by a staff member each and everytime. My items are as described and if there is a discrepancy it is handled on the spot. I would recommend MaxSold to anyone looking for a great bargain. MaxSold has delivered on point everytime that I have purchased from them, and that is alot.
The first thing you need to know is that MaxSold pays people for positive reviews, contrary to SiteJabber's T&C's. They started doing that after my first review - one of very few at the time, and very negative. Suddenly, they got lots of positive reviews, many of which specifically refuted what I had posted.
So who would give MaxSold a positive review? Buyers are often willing to do that, because many of them got real bargains, paying perhaps 1-5% of an item's true value. MaxSold DOES NOT have all the bidders they claim, and most auctions end up with a large number of items with 1 or 0 bids.
Compare the reviews by Buyers with the reviews by Sellers. Nearly all Sellers will tell you MaxSold lied about the customer base and how many bids there would be and how much money they would get for their possessions. When you complain, they point to fine print in the contract. Most of us sign that contract under duress - a family member has died, or some other major event is the reason we are selling the estate. Bottom line: no matter what fine words you were told, in the end EVERYTHING is the seller's responsibility to clean up. Things stolen? Seller's problem. Damage to house? Seller's problem. Items never sold or never picked up? Seller's problem. After paying MaxSold several thousand dollars, it cost me several thousand more to restore the house after they left. Meanwhile, a solid silver and crystal chandelier sold for $75, and I was supposed to be happy about that.
So, if you're a buyer who doesn't mind taking advantage of other people, you can get some bargains IF you know what you are doing since the item descriptions are made up by people who haven't a clue what they are doing.
If you're a seller, find ANY other option because MaxSold will cause you nothing but grief.

Answer: The site states clearly that you must pick up your article at the specific time and place. If you cannot do that or arrange for someone to do it for you... then don't bid.
Answer: Definitely not on their youtube channel as they've removed the ability to comment. This alone was enough for me to steer clear.
Answer: Please see our past auction results at http://maxsold.com/past-auctions/ - every auction we've done is listed for public viewing. You will see the sell through rate for each auction, and you can calculate the percent sold. Our average sell through is 98.7%.
Answer: Winning bids are charged to the credit card on file right AFTER each auction ends, along with 10% buyers premium and the applicable retail sales tax for your region. The first time you bid at any of our auctions, your card will be pre-authorized for $1.00. However, it is only a bank authorization for validation, not a charge, and it is usually removed in about a week by your bank.
