Bought a $40 game, received it in a reasonable time and it worked (and still works) fine. Only one transaction but will try again.
I attempted to purchase some second hand games from glyde, but my transactions were denied, because glyde are economically bigoted and do not accept foreign credit cards for US orders.
8 days later, my credit card was used online for unauthorised purchases. Glyde was the only place I had given my credit details recently. (I normally just use amazon.com - I know THEY didn't use my credit card details)
I made 2 transations so far and works great for me. I found books for less than a half of the regula price. I would recomend this site.
I wanted a Nintendo DS game and found it at a very good price on Glyde.com. Actually the transaction went well. I was provided a USPS tracking number so I felt good about that. The package arrived earlier than Glyde's estimate so Yay! For that. The game was exactly as described. It played, the instruction book was included, case was fine. And to complete the positive review... my credit charge was not charged until I responded that everything was ok. I even listed a Nintendo DS game and a DVD to sell myself.
Now the maybe negative part... The day after I ok'd the cc charge, my credit card company's Fraud Alert called. I though it was possibly due to the Glyde.com charge so I called them to say everything was ok (didn't see anything wrong on my online account either). Well, I DID have two fradulent charges on my credit card, both of them originating from out of the country. The cc company declined the charges and now my account is closed and I'm waiting for a new charge.
I just don't know, it *could* be a coincidence... or is it really related to this website? My husband mentioned an item we ordered online that was shipped from Israel, but actually I do not think it has anything to do with that company since that company/product has no complaints... and that was a couple of months ago.
Soooo, my experience is mixed. The credit card problem is merely an inconvenience, but I am very very glad I chose to use my credit card rather than my debit card.
I didn't really even buy anything (or sell!) off of this site. I've browsed on my own time though but it seems they have some good deals on gaming. Although after I've read the reviews and comments on this site I must say I am quite displeased and confuzzled about all of this. I am not a stupid person, I research foreign sites before I do interaction with them. I have to say I will NEVER buy from this site, I will stick to Amazon or perhaps eBay if it comes to the need. For everyone out there who seems to be having a "BLAST" with this site and it's "OUTRAGEOUS" deals, It's only a matter before you get scammed as I've seen throughout these complaints. This whole page I've saw 99.9% of complaints yet only 0.1% of "YAY OMGzOeRzz I gotSDch My GamesZZZzZZ!". So I would not do business with this alien business :D
DONT! PLEASE, DON NOT BUY FROM THEM! WARNING!
First of all, they don't have a phone number to call. Second, they take forever to answer your emails, Third - they take 6 days or more to process your purchase and then it says not available.
Bought the game and it came in bad shape! Scratches all over! JUST TERRIBLE SERVICE! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
I bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from this website, and I got the "Good" condition and 11 days later guess what happened... I opened the game box...
Its cracks pretty bad! I should have go to eBay first, i'm pretty sure I can get "Like new" condition with that amount of money! F**ck off!
I ordered gears of war 2 from this site. A couple of days after i check my email and i get an email saying glyde has declined my credit card and the transaction couldnt be complete. I said ok as long as i didnt pay for it. I go and check my credit card balance and the money i paid for the game is deducted off my credit card even if the transaction didnt go threw. I sent them an email telling them what happened and now im waiting for a response and refund. So far this website sSUCKS!
I understand people make mistakes but comon... ok i bought the game call of duty: modern warfare 2 from glyde.com so they gave me an estimated time of 10 days... so i wait... and its the 10th day and i check the mail box... nothing so i check my email and they change the estimated time to 3 days later... well i receive it 2 days later and i open the mail box... ITS THERE... im all excited i rip the package open and see the badass mw2 case and i pop it open and... nothing... theres no game inside... hell they gave me the book though... THANKS GLYDE... so now im going to have to wait an additional 10 days for it... exiting
I'm not shy to try new websites, but this is one that I was definitely disappointed in. I ordered a game to buy. I got an email 2 days later saying they were cancelling my order because it wasn't available anymore. I then tried to delete my credit card into, and there's no button to delete my credit card! I tried chaning my cc number, but they wouldn't let me! They have low prices, but a couple dollars is not worth the hastle of this site.
I sold a game through them. They sent me a mailer. I mailed the game out. A week later they sent me an email stating an amount of money had been put in my account for said game. Three weeks later, they emailed me saying the game never showed up and they were taking the money back and charging me for the mailer. End result, my game is gone and I've been charged $1.25 for the privilege of Gylde.com screwing me over.
Sounds like the problems earlier users were having had to do with this being a young site & delays over the December/January holiday period. I've had about ten transactions so far (mostly buying/selling books) and it's worked well for me.
Really good site packed with lots of items. My two items that i ordered from this site came fast and in great condition. Currently selling some items and will see how that goes.
Personally I have bought from this website with no issues. IMO after buying and getting the game in perfect condition as described, they took no money from me until AFTER i received said game AND tested it to make sure it worked. Sorry to all the naysayers but this is much better than ebay. Unless I have an unforeseen problem in the future I will certainly continue using this site.
I bought a DVD that was supposed to be in excellent condition. When I received it, it had scratches and it didnt play. I tried to reject it but they said I had to pay for half the shipping. Basically after their fee's I would not get any money back. So I am stuck with a DVD that doesnt work. Beware that buyers have no protections.
Works perfectly for me so far. Only a seller of video games for the 360 and Wii and I feel I have gotten fair prices and the convenience of Glyde providing packaging and tracking postage is well worth the cost/fees IMO. Have not had a single problem in about 2 dozen transactions so far.
It has been 3 weeks since I purchased a DVD from Glyde. Still haven't received it & they don't reply to my emails. On the website it says: Congratulations! The transaction is now closed. Enjoy your DVD and thanks for using Glyde. There is no phone # either. I would not recommend doing business with this site.
I placed my order for a used video game 3 weeks ago. Still have not received it and my emails to *******@glyde.com have gone unanswered. Wish I had read the review here first because I would not have used this site! It's especially frustrating because there is no other way to contact them besides email.
Completely crappy. I bought a brand new game for Xbox360 and didn't like it. I went online to sell it and stumbled across Glyde.com. I thought it looked sleek and easy so I would give it a try. It took over a week to get the box in the mail. I immediately dropped the game in the box and dropped it off at the mailbox. I waited and waited for information. 3 weeks later I get an e-mail saying the following:
"Dear William,
You indicated that you sent the game "Borderlands" (order #*******289 sold on 12/7/09). Unfortunately, neither the USPS nor the buyer has confirmed delivery. As a result, this transaction will now be closed and considered unsuccessful. The Glyde marketplace depends on buyers and sellers following through on their commitments and we hope this is just an isolated incident.
Per our Transaction Policies:
* You will not receive sale proceeds
* You will be charged $1.25 for the Mailer Cost
* This incomplete transaction will be noted on your account
* Glyde will waive its transaction fees
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at *******@glyde.com.
The Glyde Team"
Great! Now I am down $50 for the game but I am getting charged for the box. And they were kind enough to assume that I scammed the system for the cardboard box! Seriously? Don't even mess with this site. I am embarrassed I tried it with an expensive game. I should have tried it with cheap CD.
Answer: Glyde is a great companyi did have a bad experence with a purchase but glyde sent out a return label on them and i was credited really quick. When dealing with companies on the internet i use my amazon or my paypal so that way its not hlding up my personal account. At any rate my issue was the person that sold me the phone had sent me a phone that was originally a sprint phone but flashed to cricket carrier when i tried to switch it to sprint they werent able to program the phone and i was already a customer only they couldnt figure out why. When we were programming the phone it showed the name cricket as we completed a reset of the system. So most people these days they jailbreak phones or flash maybe another work at any rate your covered regardless but i would recommend
