I dig Glyde. When I told my girlfriend I was selling some DVDs and games on Glyde she was incredulous. She was less so ofter I sold about $200 worth of stuff in a few months. Very smooth transactions.
I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT I CAN'T FIND A PHONE NUMBER FOR STARTERS TO ACTUALLY TALK TO SOMEONE. I HAD PURCHASED A GAME FOR MY GRANDSON AND WHEN IT CAME IN THE MAIL, THE CASE WAS BROKEN, PIECES FALLING OUT THE THE BUBBLE ENVELOPE IT WAS SENT IN. BUT THE GAME ITSELF WAS INTACT, SO I ACCEPTED IT. BUT WHEN MY GRANDSON OPENED IT FOR CHRISTMAS, TOOK IT HOME, THE GAME WOULD NOT WORK... HE TRIED, THE PARENTS TRIED... WANT TO RETURN IT. CAN'T GET AHOLD OF ANYONE. DISAPPOINTED.
Ive had 3 transactions with them, and am not impressed. The average shipping time has been 3 weeks. 1 of the shippers didnt send tracking info... ordered 1 game on Dec 4th and am still waiting for it on Dec 28...
3+ weeks for first class shipping is absurd. Why any business would think building a 2 week lag into shipping is reasonable is beyond me. Games and movies are IMPULSE BUYS. People want them now, not in 3 weeks, maybe! And what if you want to return an item? 3 more weeks to get a refund...?!
Glyde = lights on, nobody home. Lame.
I went there to browse. I had bought a game from them a couple months earlier. Took almost 3 weeks for it to arrive! It was in good shape so I got over it. Anyway I noticed it auto logged me in password and all. I clicked buy on a game I was trying to see more about, I figured Id get another page pop up for my password, or at least me to verify shipping ecetra. NOTHING! It was purchased. A 45$ game at that. I read all over site no where to cancel order no phone number. I then tryed to remove my credit card info... Nope This site is going down and they are robbing folks as much as possable, and quick. Well guess what, they don't have my card info anymore becuase I reported it lost and got charge dropped. I know is gonna be a pain but as high as that cards limit was if I could click BUY NOW and poof its bought most anyone could do same. Scary site.
This website is great for buying! Transactions are fast and easy. Shipping is fast. The prices are very competitive and it gives info on condition of what is for sale, making your decision to purchase easy. I have not used it to sell, so cannot speak to that. But I highly recommend this site for buying!
I haven't had any issues so far and have been please with all my transactions. I have recommended this site to friends.
I have been a gamer most of my life. As an adult, I have been constantly faced with the challenges of staying up to date on current trends in gaming without feeling a massive hurt on my wallet. One of the ways thrifty gamers have found to get some game buying funds back on the table is to trade in games after we are done with them. I did this for quite some time, buying a new game for ~$60, only to trade it in a week or two later for half the price (I'm looking at you, GameStop). While this made ends meet, I was always longing for something a little more true to the market value. And in stepped Glyde!
I heard about the site from a reliable major gaming news site back when it first came about. In all of my experience with Glyde (upwards of 20 transactions), I have nothing but praise for the system they use, as well as the friendly and helpful customer service staff they employ. This is a barebones, simple marketplace for REAL people to sell their used games (and movies, CDs, and books) to REAL buyers. The prices are more than fair, especially when compared to major retailers. Shipping could not be easier - when you sell an item, Glyde automatically ships you a pre-addressed mailer. Simply place the item inside, seal, and drop off at the nearest USPS drop box.
In essence, this site has saved my hobby! I can't say enough great things about it! And to many of the people who have had problems with it, don't blame Glyde. It is a marketplace, meaning that people are responsible for shipping the items, not the administrators of the site. They do all they can to ensure a speedy delivery time, but sometimes the stars don't align. In my substantial experience with Glyde, however, problems have been minimal.
Glyde is a good website for searching for books and other media. While I can say that their layout doesn't allow for easy searching, especially for those hard to find items, they have a large listing of books and you will most likely be able to find what you're looking for. I like that they take out the hassle of dealing with a seller and make paying and shipping very safe and easy. Overall I've had a good experience with them and I've successfully bought several different items off of their website. They have competitive and reasonable pricing and you don't have to deal with trying to outbid other customers while a timer ticks down. Overall, a good way to shop for those who just want to buy something and be done with it.
Great concept and great deals on video games (and other media). This is, without a doubt, the easiest and best way to sell your used games online.
I loved this site; everything was cheap, and I got a lot more money for my games that I would have gotten at GameStop!
The best place to sell/buy your video games, dvds, books, and CD's is www.Glyde.com. I've used this site more then 20 times to sell games from my collection that i hardly ever played anymore and never had a bad experience. If you have a lot of games that you don't play and want to get rid of, i really recommend you try this website out It's very quick and easy to list an item with no up front fees, once it sells, you recieve a pre-addressed Glyde mailer, drop it in the mail and that's it. They take all the hassle out of selling your unwanted stuff
I've been buying and selling on Glyde for the past couple years and I love it. My experience hasn't always been perfect, but I used to use ebay to buy and sell my video games and Glyde is just so so much better. Like ebay, you're dealing with other individuals like yourself, so things do occasionally go wrong. However, unlike ebay, Glyde acts as the middle man for resolving your problems so you don't have to deal with directly with whoever did you wrong (and when you're in that situation it sucks to deal directly with the other person because they often get defensive and you have to worry about how they're going to impact your user rating and all that junk. Yuck). Over many many purchases and sales I think I've had to interact with their customer service two or three times. I usually hate dealing with customer service but the Glyde CS team has made all my problems go away within one or two emails back and forth with them... that's awesome.
I've used Glyde since June, and love the service. I've sold a dozen games and bought 6. I recently had an issue with selling a game. I sent it, but it was not received by the buyer. My account was suspended, and I contacted customer service. The representative, Linda, was *AMAZING*, she deposited the proceeds to my account and refunded me the mailer cost. Granted, the total was less than $10, but she went above and beyond the call of duty. I would much rather use Glyde than shop at Game Stop (with pushy employees, and high prices for used games) or troll through Craigslist (where you never know what you'll find).
Some comments on here lead me to believe that some of you don't understand what Glyde does. Let me clarify: The service allows people to sell their games/books/dvds through their platform, and others to buy those games/books/dvds. If your game never comes, it's because that seller didn't send it. If it takes forever for your purchase to get to you, then blame the USPS, or the seller for living so far away from you. The only thing Glyde is responsible for is pricing, sending out mailers and confirming that people get their stuff (Note: confirming, not making sure you get it). Glyde can't control other people or the USPS. If you have issues with them, don't blame Glyde.
From my experience, the above issue was the first and only issue I've had so far. My games have come fairly quickly (3-4 days), the mailers even quicker (average 2 days), and the prices are pretty reasonable. Granted I wish I got more for my used games, but, it's still more (by a factor of 2) than Game Stop.
You know, I really wish I had read reviews on this site of this company before I had bought. Good old Xbox original games are hard to come by nowadays so I was trying to get that first KOTOR. Ebay was frustrating me so I called myself using this company as an alternative; didn't know they were online only. I am very leary of online only companies for just this reason lol. Game was somewhat scratched, but playable until 1 month after their little 48 hour grace period to dump you with inferior product at high prices for the quality. I just knew they had a CSR #. Lol, wrong again, like my decision to take a chance on this game. Will be bookmarking, shortcutting, and adding this page to favorites in the future. Could have spent a little more money and got a fully working game lol.
My overall experience has been very negative.
My first experience: I bought a game, it came in, it was in good condition.
My second experience: I sold a game, the mailer didn't come after 10 days, so I e-mailed glyde, they sent another mailer.
The first mailer came in the next day, I sent the game in. The game has been received according to the USPS tracking number. The site still shows the tracking number of the 2ND MAILER they sent (which I didn't ask for). Now the glyde won't even respond at all to update the system so I can receive my payment.
They took my measly $18. Now that's just sad.
I would prefer everyone to use different sites!
DO NOT ORDER ANY GAMES FROM glyde.com. I ordered IL-2 Sturmovik Birds of Prey for Playstation 3 nine days ago and was told it should be here by the middle of the next week (today at the latest) and it is still not here. I looked on Amazon for the same game and found it $5 dollars cheaper(wish I would have looked a little better). There is no phone number for their site so the only way to contact them is though email and there's no estimated response time. Even if the game shows I will never order anything from glyde.com again.
There is no buyer protection when you order something using Glyde.
I ordered Dragon Age: Origins Game for Xbox360 from Glyde.com. Received shipment yesterday, within 8 days, but instead of a game DVD, it had a Porn Movie. There is no contact number for customer service. Only *******@glyde.com email is listed for contact. I trusted 4.5 rating on price grabber, out of 17 reviews. Also, I saw the endorsement at GameSpot.com's marketplace.
The very first experience with glyde is horrible. Got Scammed.
I ordered a game for my daughter it just came out 2 weeks ago and we got it on Glyde, it was $15.00 cheaper then Game Stop. The game came in the mail in about a week, then i went on the website and clicked accept because the game was brand new. I have just ordered a movie from them.So far so good.If you are concerned about the website just order something small and see how it goes...
Well, I ordered an xbox 360 game from this site. The very next day I got an email stating that the postal service recieved word that the game was going to be shipped and it should arrive in 10 days. It is now 10 dayIs later and that status has not changed. I wish I had read these reviews beforehand. However, from what I have noticed from everyone's reviews, books seem to ship fine, video games you're going to get screwed on. I hope someone shuts this scammer friendly site down soon.
This site and service is absolutely unprofessional and truely beta. I'm a grown adult and saw a deal pop up from a daily deal website and that stated free shipping for the buyer and $2 off purchase so gave it a shot. I wish I never had, I purchased a game for my son which I never received. After multiple emails to Glyde support, they weren't very helpful and stated all they could do is email the seller to determine if he had shipped it or not and they weren't getting a response from the seller. They have a horrid tracking system of over 11 days of waiting the tracking system said the envelope had been sent and the ETA was 11 days, in those 11 days the tracking system never updated. Glyde states they will issue a refund but what about waiting for 11 days with nothing to show for it? I'd rather spend the few extra bucks, go to gamestop or order from gohastings than wait for an unprofessional site try to get their act together.
After the whole ordeal, they had nothing to say but sorry, they wouldn't even bother to give a deep discount on another purchase or heck, just send the $8 game for free. I couldn't care less about the $8, it's the waiting with no communication and having to tell your child any day now and than explain even adults don't have their act together.
I'm definitely commenting everywhere I can now to avoid Glyde, stick to the big boys, these start ups have some definite growing pains, I will never buy from them again.
Answer: Glyde is a great companyi did have a bad experence with a purchase but glyde sent out a return label on them and i was credited really quick. When dealing with companies on the internet i use my amazon or my paypal so that way its not hlding up my personal account. At any rate my issue was the person that sold me the phone had sent me a phone that was originally a sprint phone but flashed to cricket carrier when i tried to switch it to sprint they werent able to program the phone and i was already a customer only they couldnt figure out why. When we were programming the phone it showed the name cricket as we completed a reset of the system. So most people these days they jailbreak phones or flash maybe another work at any rate your covered regardless but i would recommend
