Gwynnie Bee enjoys a generally favorable reputation among customers who appreciate the variety and quality of clothing, as well as the convenience of a rental model that allows for frequent wardrobe changes without significant financial commitment. Many users highlight the positive impact on their confidence and style exploration. However, concerns about slow shipping times, limited inventory, and challenges with cancelling subscriptions have been frequently mentioned. Additionally, customers have expressed frustration over unexpected charges and a lack of responsive support during issues. Overall, while the service has its strengths, addressing operational inefficiencies could enhance customer satisfaction.

Canceled once - was told I was being dropped down to a lower subscription rate... but NO they got me for another $75.00... Hopefully this time the cancellation sticks.
Very unhappy...
Quality control definitely needed, disappointment in the waste of a shipment. Last email for shipping delay went umanswered.
I have been using this site for over five years and I consider it a lifesaver. I love the fact that I can wear new items all the time, and try different things and be more daring than I may normally if I were purchasing an item. I get lots of compliments on my new outfits and I love being able to change frequently.
I love this service. I don't have to think about what to wear. I don't have to wash it and I don't spend a fraction of the amount of money I used to on clothing.
I love GB! It lets me try styles I wouldn't normally try and have new clothes all the time without costing a fortune. I end up purchasing a lot of items at such a great discount.
I signed up several years ago on a lark. I have really grown to love this service. I really don't shop for clothes anymore. I use GB to try new things and if I can't live without the piece I buy it and if I can, I just send it right back and get something else. It has opened up a huge wardrobe for me. There have been very few hiccups over the years. But the couple issues I did have were handled quickly and efficiently.
I thought this was going to be a waste of time and money. I thought renting clothes was weird. I have been using Gwynnie Bee for over four years now, and I have never received so many compliments on my wardrobe in my whole life. I have never received items that were dirty or looked liked used clothing. Everything comes in looking brand new! Do yourself a favor and give it a try!
I have enjoyed getting ready for work everyday with the clothes I get from Gwyennie Bee. I am known for the beautiful dresses I wear because of my subscription. Some turn out to be things I don't like, but overall I really like most of my choices. The reviews are great and I have gotten good at picking clothes that I like. I do wish that they had a few more trendy clothes since those are the ones I only want to wear a few times. I will continue to use the service.
I love having new clothing to wear and trying things I would never look at twice in the store. However, Gwynnie Bee has gone down hill since a joined. They used to send boxes right away and now I wait several days until they ship new items. Twice I've gotten notifications that a box is shipping only for it to disappear and me to wait 2 or 3 days for them to send me something new. I don't know if they have grown bigger than they can handle or if good help is hard to find, but it is annoying. I used to know that I would have something to wear to work, my subscription money stopped
Me from having to buy work
Clothes. Now I find myself making sure I have something to wear since I can't count on Gwynnie bee sending me something new to wear in time (I have the 5 at a time package).
The clothes are fashionable. They are fun to wear and I love the selection.
I have been with Gwynnie Bee for 5 years. I always get compliments on the clothes I ware. I have had a few things I have sent back without wearing over the 5 years but for the most part I am always happy with what I receive.
I have very rarely received items that i could not wear. Most are very cute and i wear them at least once. However - it is frustrating that there are so many super cute looking clothes that i never ever get to closet - let alone receive in a box. I rarely get my prioritized items either. Otherwise it has been a pretty good membership.
When Gwynnie Bee first stared, it was the answer to my "plus-sized" clothing woes. Fun, fashionable, affordable options in an array of brands and sizes. Now, due to my slightly larger size and the shift in focus to clothing for women of all sizes (read "normal sizes", and read it with sarcasm), there are only a handful of brands that comfortably fit and the company is no longer a safe haven for me. What started out as a godsend and even a bit of a body-positive experience has morphed into something that is, again, for the masses, and which no longer provides me the high quality service I need. This is why capitalism is a failed model for meeting human needs. Given the opportunity to meet the needs of the initial focused clientele, where there is a veritable clothing desert, Gwynnie Bee, like many companies, sold out their loyal customers to make more money.
I have signed up for the service twice. I liked being able to have some more variety in my wardrobe and the option to buy pieces I liked at a discount. I also received tons of compliments on my looks. I also noticed a good decrease in my laundry loads. The service is expensive. The turn around of items is slow. The sizes available for me have decreased. Now some clothing only goes up to a 22 or 24. The abundance of cardboard boxes I have accumulated is insane. But, I did miss the service enough to come back a second time. I wish it was cheaper and offered more options for super fats. The outlet is a hit or miss thing, but I'm glad they offer it. I wish there was an option to choose one item you'd be guaranteed, although sometimes they do a pretty good job sending priority items.
Amazing clothes that are better quality than other subscription services. I love how easy the site and app are to use!
I've been a member for several years, & really love this service. It's a great no-risk way to try many different styles. I've purchased many items over the years at very good prices. If I really love a piece that's a bit pricey, I just keep it & wear it until a big sale comes around,& then buy it for a price that practically feels like stealing, it's such a great buy! As time has gone by, they've added many more higher-end brands like Johnny Was, Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, Taylor Dresses, & Karen Kane, which I love. I do wish they would buy more of these higher-end brands though, as there's often a long wait to get these brands, or the mid-range sizes are unavailable for long periods of time, due to high demand. I always closet items as soon as they show up in New Arrivals; when I get a piece that was new just 2-3 days ago, I know that I'm the first one to wear it, & those are the pieces I usually buy. That being said, I've very, very rarely received anything not in great condition, even though the piece may have been rented out several times before it got to me. Customer service has always been prompt & helpful, & easy to reach. It took me several boxes to "get in my groove", but once I figured out which brands fit which way ( women's sizes are sooo inconsistent!), & which brands were consistently high quality & came in styles I loved, it was easy to closet successfully most of the time. Turn-around is quick; I usually receive a new box within 4 days or so of doing a return notification. You get your first month free, so what have you got to lose?
I'm surprised at the negative reviews as I've been fortunate enough to have a great experience and I think I've been using GB for about a year now. I recently returned to full-time work after being a SAHM for 7 years, and of course after two kids, most of my old work wardrobe didn't fit right. I had a few friends who had used GB and quite liked it. One still does, the others canceled but not because of any dissatisfaction with the company, more for personal reasons. All three were/are plus-sized like me. I like that there are so many options for my size. I have over 100 items closeted at any given time. They're always adding new styles and I want to try almost all of them! The selection is limited for pants and tops and jackets, but it's terrific for dresses, which is what I wanted. I've encountered some amazing purchase prices and taken advantage a few times, getting a cute dress for under $15! Especially with the rewards I earn just by using the service (points for returning two items together, points for closeting up to five items a week, etc.). I guess if and when I go to cancel this service, I might encounter some of the issues other reviewers have faced, but right now I have zero plans to cancel. Even though the items are all used, they've all arrived in very clean, neat condition. At worst, one or two might have been missing a belt. I get lots of compliments on my GB items.
Decent clothes, though not a ton of variety. Clothes are always clean and neat when they get to me. Shipping is painfully slow.
The service is expensive for the number of garments you get.
I don't appreciate being a guinea pig to prove concept by Caastle. I thought the CEO genuinely cared about plus sizes women and the lack of options in the marketplace. But it was all a big experiment.
Before learning about Gwynnie Bee my shopping experience was AWFUL. Running from store to store took too much time and I was limited to only the brands each store offered. Since joining, I've discovered new brands that I love and I shop when I want and from the comfort of my sofa with coffee in hand. Returning items that do not fit is easy. The only thing that I don't like is when items in my size are not currently in rotation and I have to wait.
I have been a member of Gwynnie Bee for over five years so I have seen many changes (good and bad) but I still prefer this service to actually going clothes shopping. I will admit that the customer service and shipping times have gotten worse-there was a time when you would email customer service about a problem with a shipment and they would apologize and give you a "free" extra item for 7/14 days. Now all they give you is a canned response and tell you basically "oh well". Now it can take a week for me to get my items so I try to ship them back ASAP but they can still take a while to remove returned clothes to your closet. The clothes are not as cute or colorful as they used to be. And they don't have sales as often as they used to. However, when they do have a sale I love it because I always am able to purchase one or two items that I really liked at a good price. I still recommend GB to other people and it really comes in handy if you're gaining or losing weight because you don't have to buy clothes that won't fit in the future. Their clothes work best for an office setting-if you work from home or in a very casual workplace I don't think it's the best use of your funds. Despite all the cons, I would be devastated if GB closed and would HATE to have to go back to the mall!
A few years ago I loved Gwynnie Bee. Turn around was fast, the brands were all high end, it felt like a great value. Since they have added/expanded their size range I feel like they are bringing more mid-range and lesser known brands. These tend to have inconsistent sizing and fit issues even when using the size charts provided. I now closet less with each new release. I have also had issues with my sizing being unavailable, which leads me to believe they are purchasing less items.
Answer: You have to re-add them, but there is a "history" section that keeps track of your items so they are easier to find.
Answer: The clothes are cleaned and then sent out to the next person who requested that item in that size. After a period of time (not sure how long) the clothes are put into their for sale section of the site. I've purchased several items after wearing them at incredible savings.
Answer: They are used but have been laundered - you have no need to do that unless you wish to do so. Also they are usually in excellent shape. If you ever receive anything that isn't, make sure you let them know so they can pull it from their inventory.
Answer: Hi Tara - Everyone experiences the service differently. I think the best thing is to judge for yourself. We offer a 30 day free trial, which allows you to do just that. Before joining you can check out our FAQs & browse the collection. If you have any questions, please contact us at gwynnie@gwynniebee.com or 855-GWYNNIE
Answer: It means they will upgrade your items by 1 for the life of your plan. If you sign up for 5 items, and stay with 5 items, you will get 1 free upgrade meaning you will get 6 items. If you change your plan later however, that free upgrade could go away. SandieB
Answer: Hello Susan, Thanks for your interest in our service. Yes, our's is a garment rental service, with the most popular plan of (2 garments out at a time), priced at $68 + taxes per 30-day billing cycle. Those on the 2-item plan usually receive 6-8 garments per month depending on how fast they return them. Speaking of which, you may keep the garments with you as long as you need, before returning them in exchange for another garment/s. When you're ready to receive another garment - we have a "Return Notification" feature where you can give us a heads-up that items are on their way back to us and we can start processing your next package. Our average turnaround time is 4-7 days depending on if you use our return notification feature & where you live. The return notification feature lets you tell us when you're returning an item, so we do not wait to physically receive it & can start processing your replacement within an hour of clicking. Importantly, should you like to purchase any garment you receive as part of your rental shipment you can do so easily, and that too, at generously discounted prices. I hope this helps. Best, Gwynnie
Answer: Good evening Missy, Thanks for your question. While we do have a curated collection of items for members under 5'3, at the moment we do not carry a size 16P. We are sorry for the inconvenience. However, please check our collection from time to time, for garments which you may find suitable in your style and also, in your size :). We'd love for you to try the 30-day free trial to see how many garments you can get for yourself! Our average turnaround time is 4-7 days depending on if you use our return notification feature & where you live. The return notification feature lets you tell us when you're returning an item, so we do not wait to physically receive it & can start processing your replacement within an hour of clicking.
