This company refuses to cancel service that they have been steadily hiking the prices up for over 30 years. I work for an elderly man who was aghast to find out he has been direct depositing over $450 a month for simple trash service. These people should be ashamed of themselves. See you in court!
We have 3 separate locations with them. One of our locations gets missed quite often.
Their customer service stinks! The company says they have radio dispatch collection equipment, but they can't reach their drivers, so what good is their equipment, if it doesn't work. They don't have a way to reach a real person. They just have an AI who tells you that no one is available or that the office is closed at 3:50-(they close at 5). This is on a Friday, so I cannot get anything taken care of until Monday, which is too late.
Pick a local company- they have way better service, unless Waste Connections buys all the good guys out, like they did here:(
Attached is a picture of the dumpster that was supposed to be picked up on Wednesday (it's Friday) and I have a large Wedding here tomorrow.
Their overview and ratings don't surprise me at all! We should all quit paying them and contribute all our money into opening a reliable, dependable service that actually shows up when they are suppose to. They are lucky there is no one else in this business and we are all stuck with their crappy service...I guarantee if there was another trash company we would All Switch! I wish they would go out of business so we could be forced to use someone, anyone else...
Being a new customer to Waste Connections, fortunately I was home today and I met one of the friendliest crew members, Jeffery. This fella was so energetic, well spoken and happy. Service can't get any better than that!
He also placed my container back in the proper place before departure, unlike others last week.
Two weeks in a row I'm not seeing litter debris floating around the neighborhood!
I hope other customers realize how fortunate they are when they have someone of service on his level.
I hope his superiors see this review and recognized him for outstanding service!
Wish I could give them negative stars. As their prices for monthly residential service continues to rise, now about $65 with tax, their reliability and service continues to drop. And when you call to find out why, once again, your trash was not picked up, the story changes daily (i. E. truck broke down, driver is sick, we are running behind, etc.). I have asked for a supervisor to call me several different times, but I never get a call. We finally cancelled our service after many years as a customer and went with Roadrunner Disposal at just $30 per month.
Shop around, as Waste Connections is extremely over priced. They continue to increase the costs of the services they provide. We are paying 1500.00 more each month compared to their competitors. Absolutely unacceptable! Consider yourself warned!
Unhappy with Waste Connections of Canada. I tried to cancel my agreement due to invoice doubling, inconsistent bin pick ups and lack of customer service. They advised agreement is locked in for 5 years! To prevent a penalty send a registered letter not less than 90 days and not greater than 120 days before agreement expires. If you don't do this the agreement automatically renews for another 5 years. They show no compassion for their customers and can increase the bill without any consent!
Waste connections doesn't allow customers out of contracts as they continually raise fees on them. They claim all contracts must include an auto-renewal clause so that you have to remember to cancel within 30 days of contract end or it auto-renews if you try a day later, tough luck. Anybody who writes contracts like this should be locked up for their a crime against integrity. Their lawyering is that of thieves trying to hijack customers who make the mistake of ever hiring them. Of course if they have trash pickup issues, they should to be held blameless. Their business practices are near being a scam.
I contacted connection services for a pricing. I did it online that was easy and very acceptable but when I got this wonderful gal KIARA from the Matthews office, she was absolutely so attentive and helpful. I wanted to give a good review for the customer service. I'm at this time not going to go with your company, but it will surely be on, the top of my list if I decide to switch companies thank you so much for your kindness. Upon calling waste connections customer services. The experience I endured with a representative name Melva, was great. She was very respectful, professional, and thorough. My claim was taken respectfully. I was assured that the issues I was having with my pickup service will be corrected immediately and followed up with a courtesy call later. Thanks W/C for being there for your customers.
I've never had a problem with this company until recently. Now for some reason they don't pick up my recycling. I called after it was missed 2 weeks ago & was told they have 48 hours after a missed pickup. Had to call again the next week when it still hadn't been picked up. No one offered to discount my bill and I never received a call or email from management apologizing. Customer service is shoddy to put it mildly. Now this week it wasn't picked up again. I would switch to another company but the other one in this area also has horrible reviews. If all the drivers are in quarantine or there is some other extenuating circumstance for the poor service they should just say so.
I am very upset with this company at the moment. I had a bulk pickup scheduled for yesterday 4/6/21 for a King sized pillowtop mattress. Knowing full well the item needing to be picked up only one person was sent out on the truck. In trying to load it the mattress was ripped leaving pieces of mattress in my yard. The driver was unable to load it himself and left it on the sidewalk/in our yard. 35 minutes later when I still had not received any word as to why the mattress had not been removed I called the company and was told that someone would be by today 4/7 to pick it up. As of 1pm today it still has not been picked up, when my husband called to see what was going on he was told it would not be picked up until Friday. This is extremely unprofessional to change the date on us. When I called just for further communication I was transferred twice before I reached a supervisor, Cole (I believe), he was very condescending while talking to me. He stated that the only reason I was not informed of the pickup not happening was because I called too quickly to find out what happened. I am very dissatisfied with the service that we have received regarding this matter.
Just horrible customer services. No honest communications at all. Billing practices are just the worst.
Got signed up and paid the money at the beginning of the week. I was told I would not have a tote by pickup on Thursday but would have my trash picked up and get my tote later. I was reluctant to try another trash service bc of false promises in the past from the last trash service. I was reassured that my trash would be picked up that week on Thursday. Thursday NO Trash Pickup! Friday they said due to the weather they would NOT be picking up my trash, my road is CLEAR! But they would try for the next week! So what about the trash left out I asked? I would have to put it up til next week! What?! Crazy! And then was told it would be 4-8 weeks to get refund by Linda. I talked to manager David he told me Linda doesn't know what she is talking about! And I would have my refund this same day, still no refund, ugh! Can't people just do the JOB they are hired to do! You pick up trash! DO IT! Dang! If I could give negative stars I would!
This company, ever since they took over removing the garbage from our place of business. Has been *steadily* doing less and less, but charging more and more.
We complained for over 2 years and they would do nothing for us. Spent hours on the phone complaining to customer service. Tried to strike a deal, said look. We don't produce a lot of garbage. If you do pick ups half as often, and give us a bin half the size, and charge us half (they are charging 486 a $#*!ing month btw) we would be ok to continue using them. We were denied. So we got quotes from multiple competitors, every single one of them were LESS than half the price. Ended up going with maple Leaf, who is charging us...get this. 135 a month for doing the exact same thing, but with better customer service. When the cancellation was finally completed and we now have Maple coming in next week. We get an email from Waste telling us they don't want to lose us, and are wondering why ever would we leave. The people managing this company have room temperature IQ. Will *never* use them again. Even if they price matched or went lower, *never* again.
Waste Connections recently sent me an additional bill for quarter 1 of 2023. A phone call to customer no-service stated that there was an approved rate increase of about 7%. This bill was already paid in full in December and now they are coming back demanding more. Complete GARBAGE! Our community has had issues with this company for years - very aggressive drivers, sloppy work where trash is not meticulously cleaned up if it falls out of the truck, missed pickups, and numerous rate increases..
Living out in the country has its cons! Trash pickup being one. We've been with this company since November of 2021. I have lost count of how many times I have called to report that my trash had not been picked up! What's worse is that I've been told a couple times "yes they did it's been time stamped!" As if they can't lie about going. It's been absolutely infuriating! I have auto draft for payment. It's funny how they have no problem taking payment immediately but I have to miss weeks of trash pick up! They try and screw people over with long contracts as well! By far the worst experience I've ever had!
Every time I deal with Elaine for a schedule change or any issues she is always courteous, pleasant and always on her game! She handles all my request professionally and urgently!

Waste Connections bought out our original company, but we continued with them for convenience. Rates went up rather quickly. We got one quarter at senior rates. Their customer service is terrible. When we called for anything, we were on hold for 45 minutes. I discontinued auto pay when I finally terminated their service and they still charged me $23 to discontinue. They threw away two of my planters that were near (but not with) the trash. Terrible company!
Multiple missed pick ups over several weeks. Complaint calls taken by a receptionist that can't do anything. Numerous emails and calls have gone unanswered over that several weeks as well. Business plan tip, don't ignore your customers and expect them to hang around. Even the employees are frustrated and doing their best to help customers but can only do so much. Another business tip, don't buy other companies unless you know you can service all customers, new and old.
