I booked a ticket with smartfare, and I had to canceled my flight for personal issues. I contacted smartfare to see if they can refund my ticket, they said in the next 30 days. After 30 days I called back and they said that they still haven't received anything from the company, that I have to wait 7 more days, any time I call they keep playing games, and I still did not get my refund.

Horrible! I purchased ticket and then i received the next day a flight cancelation due to a flight cost increase. I spoke to Daniel a rep and requested a supervisor; he refused to have me speak to a supervisor, i was put on hold and Daniel came back as Mat pretending to be a supervisor. No compassion or a care of what others have done to complete the travel plans. I explained i had a rental car and needed to visit my elderly mom, however they stated they couldn't do anything for me. I will file a complain through the better business buro. Be warned! Do not purchase through this website. It might be cheaper at the time of puchase. But at the end expensive! Cancelled flights car rental, hotel ect. Some refunded others didnt.

Tickets were booked on 3 March 2022 amounting to $857. Very next day I got an email that they cannot issue the tickets at that price and offered alternate tickets at a higher price. After talking to the agent, we agreed to cancel the reservation and requested for the refund.
Refund was to be issued within 5 days but that never happened. I called their agent atleast 4 -5 times and every time I was promised for the refund which never happened.
On 3/31 when I called them, I was told that they will issue refund when airline repay the money to them! Agent simply disconnected the phone thereafter!
I have put in a dispute on this transaction with my credit card company and hopefully they will be able to get me my money back.

I pay 200 USD for a one-way flight to Mexico as shown on their webpage, but the confirmation email never came. They said that I should receive an email with the confirmation, but it never happened. I had to made more than one call to ask the reason and they told me that the price was wrong, that I have to pay another 175 USD. Its a HOOK to cheat people!

I booked the ticket with Smart fares and airline cancelled the flight due to corona and refund the money to them. Its been a 6 months, i haven't received the refund from Smart fares even though they got refund from airlines. DONT TRUST THEM, STAY AWAY.

Their cancellation refund policy is a lie. You have to keep calling to get your money back. Every time you called they keep telling you you have to wait another 1 to 7 business day In order to get your money. I cancelled on the 3rd of March and it's the 26th now and they still telling me I have to wait another 1to 7 business day. I'm so pissed I know I'll never use their service again.

Charged me more

SmartFares charged me more than what they showed during booking and then said there was in a line before clicking the booking button that said I will be charged in USD. I have booked tickets from multiples websites and I always change the currency to CAD, and I am always charged the exact amount they show. This is the first time that a site showed me a CAD amount and then charged me a different amount. What even is the point of having the option to see prices in CAD if they are gonna charge me in USD / a different rate? They didn't even send me a confirmation in the next 24 hours so when I reached out to them about the confirmation and complained about the price, they said they can't cancel my booking now as 24 hours have been passed. Scam and predatory behaviour, avoid the website at all cost!

They told me that the refund will be back to my card within 7-10 days. But after 12 days the refund still didn't appear on my card. I asked them again and they told me I have to wait for more days. And almost all their staffs have a bad attitude. What a trash company.

Not worth the headache

They will offer a deeply discounted airfare and send you a confirmation number to your email. The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. By then they had already charged me the full flight amount and would only refund me a partial amount due to "taxes and fees". They couldn't explain what the taxes and fees actually went to since I never purchased anything so then I had to waste more time disputing it through my bank.

This place is a scam. They offer low fares they cannot confirm. They take your money cancel your reservations claiming the airlines wont give the fare that you paid for that they themselves advertised... and it takes weeks to refund money... This company is a scam and MUST be reported to the better business bureau for their tactics in stealing peoples money expecting you to be ok with it. There is no way a credit card with a pending charge shouldnt be refunded immediately. The card should not be charged until the flight is confirmed. Instead they charge the card immediately and cancel your flight at the same time. What A rip off. SERVICE IS AWEFUL and they should be out of business for good. 1 star rating is way too high.

I purchased an airline ticket in May of 2020 through SmartFares for an upcoming trip in December 2020 from USA to Ghana via South African Airways. Unfortunately, due to the increase in COVID cases and the uncertainty of travel I cancelled my flight and accepted the flight credit for travel at a later time. The only condition was that I am the only one to use the flight credit, and it had to be used for a future flight on the same airline (South African Airways) before March 2022. By April 2021, when attempting to rebook my ticket, I realized that South African Airways was on strike, and they were no longer operating flights between USA and Ghana. I presented this information to SmartFares who agreed to issue me a full refund. It has been close to a year of emails with promises to refund my money. At point they blamed South African Airways, stating that they did not want to release my refund. Smart Fares has continued to give me the run-around. My advice, book with the airline directly, these travel sites are not worth the uncertainty and the hassle.

While reading all the negative reviews online I was hesitant to use them at first. However, I have received excellent support from Robbie and got 3 business class tickets at the lowest price. I have verified the reservation through the airlines directly, all the sets are confirmed too. Thank you for the great customer service and support.

I booked the tickets from Smart fares yesterday. When I checked the price on the website, the price looked very attractive (shown in HKD). But when I received the payment notification from my bank, the charge was USD400 more than the quote I saw from the website. After settling the payment, no confirmation was received from the company. I have sent email to the company two times with 24 hours but no reply. Finally when I was able to reach the company, they told me it's over 24 hours so I can't cancel my booking. Well, it's okay as long as the booking is confirmed. But then they spelt my name incorrectly. What a travelling company! Poor service. Poor communication. Cheating. I'll never book it again.

I have had a misfortune of using SmartFares for my travel bookings. I found that this company is fake and a terrible service organization where they are good at taking consumers money immediately, however SmarFares will not render service for what they have charged the customer. SmartFares cheated me of travel fares without providing service and when I file a complaint, SmartFares issued a fake refund number, but never refunded the significant fares. NEVER again, I will use SmartFares and I have done all I could to make sure all my contacts, friends and family, to get to know what kind of company SmartFare is. Shame on you Mr. CEO and shame on all your employees who are nothing but a bunch of crooks.
