I had a good feeling about Select for a long time. Then On the 29th the day after I wrote a review, I needed my Select Home warranty and They could only find one (1) air conditioner company to come and Service. I called them and was told No Can Do. It will cost more for me to come out and I am not sure when I could get out there. We had already been without Air conditioning for 2 days. Well, I had spent all morning on the phone, I was HOT. I canceled it all.
We have had several home warranty companies. Select seems to be one of the best. I have never had any problems with or do I expect to have any problems. This is our 3 year. I hope it continues.
We chose to work with Select Home Warranty based on their positive reviews we read. We purchased a full home warranty plan one year ago to cover our entire home. A few months after purchasing the plan our heater broke so we contacted SHW for coverage. They sent a mechanic to look at the unit who had no understanding of the issue. We decided to call another professional heating service provider who fixed the issue quickly and charged less than SHW. We tried to get a reimbursement from SHW which took two months of back and forth and only happened when I threatened to cancel my service with them. After 3 months, we had another issue, this time with the A/C. We called our technician again who came to fix the issue. We sent the statement to SHW for reimbursement only to be told that this wasn't covered under the warranty, despite it clearly being covered. Then, last week we had another issue with a leak in our water heater. Again, we called a professional plumber who came to fix it the same day. When we sent the bill back to SHW for reimbursement, they again told us this wasn't covered because leaks with water heaters didn't qualify. After three consecutive cases, it's clear that SHW is running a scam and not reimbursing for services that are clearly covered under their policy. The representative will speak very nicely with you but make sure there are no results at the end. Stay away from this company if you want quality home warranty coverage.
I honestly don't have any more time to give to this company, so I will keep it short here and move on.
DO NOT PROTECT YOUR HOME WITH SELECT HOME WARRANTY!
I had two homes with them protected for 3 years and had to cancel both after a year when I realized nothing is going to change with them. They will give you more headaches than peace of mind when it's time to filing a claim or reimbursement.
Worst off, it that when I called to cancel, they kept hanging up the call on me, I had to call multiple times, they refused to disclose my refund balance and said a billing agent will follow up with me later. Long story short, they tried to steal my balance to force me not to cancel, but it was not worth it anymore so I still canceled.
Always thought that home warranties were a fight waiting to happen. I had one on a previous home with the big guy and everything from extra costs to changes are an issue. With my new home I went with Select Home Warranty because they were cheaper. I had a problem with my air conditioner and notified Select. I was quickly scheduled with a local 5 star rated company. Yhe next morning by 9 am the problem was repaired. My house is cool again and the service fee was $45, the other company was $125! I was notified by text and email every inch of the process. The whole thing could not have been handled any better. Save money and get better service is a win win situation.
Had an issue with my dishwasher. Called to file claim, they contacted me immediately to set up time for tech to come out. Seamless process
The person I spoke to was helpful and pleasant and explained all to me. The only issue was I had to repeat and repeat and repeat the explanation and she added things not true as "garage opener did not work" when I stated receptacle did not work. She submitted my claim and was pleasant... just explanation barrier.
Fred Lewis sold me a policy in February he was absolutely fantastic went over all the details of the policy with me. Fred made sure that I understood everything I was getting. I called him today because I had a question and he took care of it before we were off the phone. Thank you Fred for always being fantastic.

Signing up was a breeze. Hope to never need it, but a peace of mind is worth it. Option to have multiple home discount or switch policy to new residence is a relief.
In the months I have been with Select, zi have had efficient and timely service. The call are answered without long delays and the information is gathered in a professional manner.
Customer service representative was very pleasant and concerned about my problem. She explained everything to me which was going to happen recording my claim.
I've yet to take advantage of the Select Home Warranty service, but the initial low-pressure, highly-informative customer service/sales interaction was very pleasant. Hopefully, I'll be as happy with the actual repair services and response time they provide when something goes wrong at my house in the future!
My fellow service technicians. If you like to work for free, fight to get your money due, never get paid, get excuses, get your claims denied, get your invoices lost in their system, waste a lot of time on hold trying to get authorization, dealing with foreign nincompoops at the SHW call center who don't understand English and the idiot homeowners who think you owe them something for a measly $45.00. Sometimes you even have to fight them to get that from these home owners cheapskates. You been warned. Go make real money elsewhere
I have just recently changed over to Select Home Warranty from the company I had been with for over 9 years. Raising my monthly fee another $10.00 a month was the last straw. I called SHW and was pleasantly surprised that I could get a better rate for the same coverage I had but then found out because I am a senior that I could get an even lower rate and a lower service fee for life. My coverage had only been in effect when I had a pluming problem and was great to know that I could call my contractor of choice once I called SHW to inform them of the problem. With my old company I had to wait until they assigned a contractor which was never the same one. I like dealing with a proven to me contractor that I know I can return to time and time again and know I am going to get the quality work I expect. My Repair, My Way. Thanks SHW for allowing me to do it my way.
I'm a courant member of Choice home Warrenty and they are so unprofessional, won't return calls are refusing to fix problems they have created. Plus I've paid $300 over my service fee.

Going through the home buying process we selected SHW. With all the paperwork involved in buying a home, they made the process quick and painless. I hope when we need service, we can expect the same. Disclaimer: I am writing this review for one free month of coverage.
I have contacted customer service twice and have gotten prompt, courteous service on both occasions.
Though understanding trying to get more sales from a customer there was an overload of sale pressure at the get go.
However seeing overall reviews I am happy with the price and wait to see how future experiences will be.

Answer: Based on Internet searches but quickly found out that they are a SCAM.
Answer: After filing 5 claims, and one tech that wanted to pad his pocket resulting in me fixing my own leak in a toilet at my expense after paying their tech. And another tech wanting to get my pool setup for summer at150. More than I already gave for deductible she didn't fix my pump or water line to my pool. Both denied by select home Warrenty. And 3 more that I paid their techs for then had to fix it myself. Now my freezers compressor is out and they took money out of my bank account without my permission after saying they would go ahead and fix the freezer well guess what they declined it. And said it wasn't covered when in the contract it says it is. List all meat and others because of 3 weeks if waiting for them
