Have been a longtime customer of Select Blinds but have not had to deal with their customer service before. I placed orders for a total of five solar shades all in one color - Paper White. Three of the shades arrived in Paper White and two of the shades arrived in another color - Misty Lace. (I know the color because I had a bunch of swatches of their material.)
Tried to get the issue fixed but got the runaround for three solid weeks. They asked for many pictures. No one followed up. Every contact with them seemed to be with a new person who had no information on the previous communications. It was a simple problem with a simple fix but for the entire time they pretended not to understand. Finally just gave up in frustration.
The mission of Select Blinds customer service department is obviously to block customer service issues, not resolve them. Truly awful company.
Aside from the product failing after the warranty expires, they are also a company who will offer different discounts seemingly every other day. Unlike other retailers who have a policy of adjusting prices if they lower the price with a week of you ordering/purchasing the item, SelectBlinds won't - even if it's 3 days after you have placed the order. They claim to be the cheapest - I can't say I agree with that assertion as I have received better pricing from Home Depot. I do like their ordering process but given their lack of standing by their products or adjusting prices, it's not a company I would use ever again.
Placed an order for two blindsets I measured them myself scared I would mess up. I received the order a low and behold they fit perfectly!
I recently purchased three roman shades for three small windows in my home (kitchen, and two upstairs bathrooms) from Selectblinds.com for north of $400 total. My contractor installed them yesterday to which I came home and almost threw up in my mouth - it looks like I have pillowcases hanging from my windows. The material is absolute garbage and so is the color. I could've bought a few pillowcases from Target for 1/25th of the price. The color, OK, I will take the fault because I should have gotten a sample of it versus what I had seen on their site. Due to my complete dissatisfaction, I asked customer service for an exchange. I have ordered samples of different products (not roman shade material), and would anticipate paying the bigger difference between the new products and my exchange. Not surprisingly, customer service is garbage just like their overpriced products and provided zero help for recourse. Due to the "custom made" nature of their products, they don't offer exchanges or refunds unless defective. Would advise a company to revise their exchange policy to satisfy customers instead of getting atrocious reviews and losing customers entirely.
Beware of this company, they change their prices weekly to adjust for their supposed discounts. Within a space of 3 weeks the same zebra blinds was MSRP $430 then $513 then $435. I reached out to ask about this and they just said "We do offer different discounts every day and the cost of producing items can change." Basically they are a scam Wish I had come to read the reviews before spending my money with them. Good luck if you decide to buy from them.
On August 3rd 2021, I order 4 Designer Elements Light Filtering Roller Shade and 3 Designer Elements Blackout Shades in the amount of $3092. 56. The shades were promised to be shipped in 4-5 business days, but I have only received 4 shades so far. When attempting to install the shades I did receive, I noticed that since the window frame is elevated about 1 inch from the wall, the additional width added to the shades also sticks out on each side and does not sit flush against the wall. This defect is the direct result of the company's measuring instructions for these shades which required a MINIMUM of four inches be added to the width. Furthermore, the manufacturer faulted in workmanship and did not account for the fact that a frame can sit elevated to the wall. Their only "suggestion" was for them to ship additional hardware so that I can try to drill into pipes and electrical wires in the wall, possibly causing major damage to the home. The business has refused to remake the shades and ship them due to faulty instructions and workmanship and will not offer refund on unshipped/late shades which I no longer want.
UPDATE: Select Blinds has now decided to ship the remainder of their late/faulty order, after I called to cancel the order and ask for a refund due to their defects so far. Buyer beware!
Terrible customer service! Messed up 10 of 10 blinds! Wrong style and size on 6, and wrong size on other 4. Had us send back 3. Over 5 weeks have passed and still giving run around. Do not stand behind product nor their guarantee. Buyer beware!
I purchased three blinds for my living room area. The main reason I went with Select blinds was because of the FIT Guarantee. It's nice having that reassurance. At least, it sounds like a nice thing. I received my blinds after about a two week delay due to a supply backorder. Not much anyone can do about that. Installing the outside mounted blinds is a little tricky, because the brackets do not sit level with the blind housing. This made it a little tricky as I wanted to mount the blinds flush along the top of my window and door frames. Once I figured out how to get the fist blind up, the other two went up pretty easily. Right away I noticed one of the blinds was cut about an inch too short. A day later, one of the other blinds fell out of the housing while rolling up.
I called Select Blinds to inquire on both issues. For the unit that was cut too small, I was told that the motorized blinds are not covered under that promotion. I asked about the blind being cut shorter than the dimension I listed when ordering. Apparently I missed the part that said to take a 1/8" deduction into consideration when I was ordering the items. Even though the unit was short by one inch, Select Blinds refused to replace the unit. They did offer me a discounted price of $180 to buy a replacement. But after spending about $1,000 on this set, I'm not thrilled about spending any extra money. I'm now jumping through the hoops to replace the defective unit. I'm hoping I have some better luck during this process.
Great blinds. Easy install. Great price and speedy shipping. I purchased top down bottom up cellular shades. Light filtering. They look great!
I ordered one product, they sent another then claimed I should have seen their policy. I tried to return the two blinds at $300 and they refused. And the blinds smell to boot. Horrid customer service. My bad for not reading the reviews first.
I ordered two motorized roller shades and about six weeks later the motors were not working correctly. They had me send videos of the problems. Then they sent me instructions on how to fix the problems. A month later the shades started to do the same thing. This time they sent me one new motor which made one roller shade work. A supervisor named Matt promised to call me to make the second one work. He never called back. I called three times and they said he would return my call. He never did. I had my handy man work on the shade and he totally had to start from the beginning to make it work. It is working now but I don't have faith that it will continue to work for very long.
Our small living room blinds which look out onto our street broke. We ordered replacement blinds from SelectBlinds, waited an agonizing 2 weeks with a sheet covering the window for privacy. "Our" blinds arrived yesterday which - just by the size of the box - were clearly ordered by someone else whose window is twice the size as our window!
SelectBlinds stated they "had no way of knowing" to where our blinds were sent. What? We received an email from them stating new blinds would be made for us and would be delivered in ANOTHER 2 weeks!
The simplest thing to do was to track down our blinds as well as ascertain who didn't receive the blinds sent to us. Send a correct shipping label to each party so they could simply be swapped!
Be aware SelectBlinds will not provid exchange or refund even if they make a mistake.
I ordered dark colored blinds. Received light colored blinds that did not match my order at all. To all my claims, SelectBlinds.com replied that I made a wrong order, although the order in the photo indicated the color I ordered.
I was scared to order these because I read so many terrible reviews. I ordered 3 sets of wood cordless blinds with cloth tape. Most brands didn't have the cloth tape on the cordless version, but Select Blinds did so I took the risk. My blinds were not damaged on arrival, but I could see how they could be. I'd give the packaging a B-. The blinds themselves look great (Distressed Cabin w/black tape). I'm very happy with the quality and appearance. The valance is magnetic. I wish they had more valance options because the one I got looks a little "country" for my tastes. Still, it looks nice and many people would be happy with it. The magnets are held on with glue. Hopefully they stay attached in summer by the hot window. Guess it doesn't matter much because the magnetic valance has my DIY wheels churning. Had I not ordered samples, I think I could have been in real trouble. I wouldn't even order white, you can't trust it. My only real complaint would be the Dollar Store looking clear wand. Looked horrible against the dark colored blinds. I cut strips of black vinyl and carefully covered the wands. The clear wand is unacceptable. I think it's worth taking the risk of ordering from Select Blinds.
Over the past 6 months I purchased a number of black out window shades from SelectBlinds. They were cheap modular items that fit well enough and were simple enough to install. Haven't had them very long, so don't know how long they will last, but good enough to sell the house. The real problem came in when I tried to use the Company for panel shades over a sliding door. The fabric was ready to fray on the edges, some of it stained, and when the sliding track fell apart, they creased and could not be smoothed. This is really cheap fragile stuff that doesn't always fit together as it should. I had to literally bolt the slider together to hold it in place so shade wouldn't fall out of the track. Labeling and instructions are also pitiful, and if you are looking for customer service, there is none. Robo message told me I had less than two minutes to wait twice within the first 5 minutes, then they told me the wait was longer because they were doing such awesome business, then they asked if they can call me back. Finally, I got a Vanessa on the line that ignored my request to speak to a technician. She tried to answer herself, but couldn't. Then went away for 5 minutes to retrieve wrong advise and finally offered to send me a video. When I described the company's product as the S#! T it was and insisted on speaking to someone that knew what they were talking about, she used that as an excuse to check out because I was cursing at her. Ignorant and defensive, but ready to fake it until they make it. Clearly, these guys are into pushing volume and want nothing to do with inevitable defects or the customers difficulties. If you are looking for something cheap and nasty to dress up your house for a sale, it's probably OK, assuming you are a creative assembly technician. But if you want quality that will last, need help or have kids, I strongly advise going elsewhere.
Ordered a custom roman shade for our large kitchen window on March 8,2021. Also ordered the remote. Blind arrived in poor condition. Was off the brackets, metal roller tube was sticky down half of it (looked used) and both ends of the metal tube were cut with jagged metal burs sticking out all around both ends of tube. The strings holding the shade, were thin and low quality. The whole shade very poor quality. I've ordered better quality shades from Walmart. Many calls and emails with customer service. Sending photos etc. I was finally assured I would receive a refund my money. Didn't hear anything, more contacting them and finally another email saying they now decided the shade will operate find with all the problems. Offered 15% credit. DO NOT order from them!
I ordered two aluminum blinds and within a few months, one of the tilt mechanisms stopped working. They sent me another blind. A few months later the second one did the same thing and they sent me the mechanism WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS! I had to go online to see how to do it and it still did not resolve the issue.
Cheap material, cheap quality, they cut 1/2" off more than what you want. Then give you a song and dance. I would never waste my time with this company again. Get your blinds from someone else.
It took two months for my order to be filled. Customer service was inconsistent and lacking to say the least. The video shows the blinds I purchased have magnetic valance, but mine arrived with plastic pieces that don't even fit. When I asked them about it they placed an order for the magnetic strip to be sent to me. I received more plastic pieces. I asked about it and they said the magnetic strip was no longer available. I paid for it and they gave me the run around. Now I'm simply going to order some two sided tape and hang the valances. I'll never order from this incompetent company again.
Read the fine print before you buy anything. They won't return anything, not even unopened routers, remotes, and chargers. The fit guarantee is only for one blind per order. So if you need 3 blinds, make it 3 separate orders.
Want two blinds for one price? If you have two windows the same size, order one blind 1/8" inch short and call them to replace it 1/8" larger. They send you a new blind and you get to keep the original blind.
Answer: Semi scam. They do not honor 3 yr warranty. My claim, 6418454 was literally IGNORED with non response.
Answer: They won't accept returns. I ordered shades, which the pictures from their website clear show have a hidden bracket in the same color as the shade. We got bright white brackets that curl around the front of the shade and will be very visible to everyone in the room. They will look like a cheap knockoff.
Answer: I ordered on line from Home Depot. Better quality that Select's private label brand and quick delivery. I received perfect quality shades in 8 days. Select kept delaying and was up to 3 months delivery and counting when I finally was able to cancel.
