Ordered blinds in November. It's January and they aren't here yet. Company says they shipped them... but they never came. Have a vision problem really took it seriously when I ordered them and expected that at least by Christmas would have them in hand.
If you order from these guys make sure to use a credit card so you can dispute the charge if the package never arrives! Good luck. This is one of the worst transactions I've ever had over the Internet.
I ordered two simple shades with pull cords. The obviously didn't compensate for the chain-mechanism when cutting... about 5/8". Not big. After sending some photos, they sent replacements after a few weeks at no cost. The problem is that the replacement shades were exactly the same size and still are about 5/8" too wide for my windows. I'm DONE with this company!
Absolutely the worst customer service & extremely poor quality. All I get from their customer service dept. is canned responses. Product fraying right out of box & manufacturing cuts are uneven. When responding to complaints on my social media reviews, they act like they are concerned, however when I attempt to give them information to follow up with me, there is no response from them whatsoever. They ask you to give them reviews after purchase in exchange for free installation. (They obviously know they need to offset all the BAD REVIEWS) PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS COMPANY. There are more reputable options available.
On a claim *******, a video and photos were included, 11/17/20, no response within the promised (email) time period of 3 days. IGNORED. This mini closed on left and 75% on right allowing uneven closed and open appearance "Warranty" expires 4/23. USELESS PRODUCT.
I ordered 4 shades. Three were fine. One was not. It could not develop normal tension and just flopped down; adjusting up/down was a hassle. All troubleshooting suggested was tried. The issue persisted. But customer service would not believe what I was reporting and insisted on a video or picture showing the issue. A video is not something I was able to do and a picture would show nothing about operation. So caught in a loop of explaining the situation and getting mechanical email replies restating their policy. Where is the satisfaction guarantee? This will be my last purchase from them.
I have not yet received my order, however, I am driven to write this review about my experience with the customer service element of the company up to this point.
Select Blinds manages its manufacturing process as follows: 1) send an email confirmation of your order, 2) send an email update when order is (supposedly) placed in production, and 3) wait - with no further updates or communication.
I placed my order on 9/2 (when my credit card was charged) and received an email confirmation. On 9/9, I received an email informing me that my order was in production. Production time is stated as 1-5 days. I had not received a shipped date, so on 9/21, I contacted Customer Service (phone) to check on my order, at which time the auto response said the 'estimated' date for shipment was 9/14. I spoke with an agent who told me he would contact production and put a rush on my order.
After hearing nothing further, I called again on 9/29, the auto response still said the 'estimated' date for shipment was 9/14. I spoke to another agent who referred to the prior call (but dated it 9/24) and told me the estimated shipment date had now become 9/30 and that the automated system doesn't change its initial information. The shipment date is still estimated, not confirmed, so I don't know when my order will be completed and shipped.
Stay away from this company. Spend the few extra dollars and deal with a local company.
Ordered blinds in July after reading a good review in a publication that I used to respect. Received a quote and asked for delivery quote. He could not be exact but said the latest it would be was a month out, mid to late August. Never got a confirmation because the sales man could not spell. My street address was wrong because he spelled frenetically and the street on the order simply does not exist. My email address was wrong even though I spelled it out letter by letter. Finally I waited on hold for a representative and asked for my confirmation. Customer service realized they had the wrong email address and a correction was made. Then I received an order confirmation which was wrong. Meanwhile I received notification that my shipment would be delayed until mid Sept. Ship date. Unacceptable as this is shipping to a seasonal residence which I told them in July when I placed the order. I called again on a recorded line this time and told them they had the wrong ship address and that I could not accept the delay. They said too bad because I had three days for corrections from the time of order. I reminded them that I never received confirmation of my order until yesterday so I am in the three day window but they declined. I told them that no one would be there to accept delivery and they said no cancellations after the three days in July.
Next day I received another notice of delay of delivery this time it would not arrive until October. Three basic shades ordered in July and not delivered until October? So again I tried to cancel to no avail. Again on a recorded line I declined the delay, told them they are being recorded and that I would take this recording and send it to a consumer advocate. They said that would just dump the box outside of the house. This phone call was in early August. These shades are quick to assemble in their factory. Obviously they had not started production on my shades and they were just being difficult. Seems to me that the guy fixing the errors on the order made a few mistakes himself.
I called back and asked for a supervisor and they said they didn't have one. I explained to a new person that I would contest the charges on my credit card and report them to authorities. Finally a day or two later I received a cancellation and a while later a full refund.
I went to Home Depot, ordered the exact same shades in size and spec but this time made by Bali and not some no name brand that Select was selling. Price was slightly better and shades were received 8 days later.
Go to Home Depot for your shades and run as fast as you can from Select.
I placed an order on 8/12/20 for 3 cellular shades, two of one type and one other. The site states "made in under 7 days." So, given 7 work days plus ground shipping, one would expect delivery in 3 weeks. Two blinds arrived on 9/2 but the 3rd blind was not going to be available until 9/29/20. I spoke with customer service on 9/2 and cancelled the third blind because the delay was NOT acceptable. I was told that the order was cancelled and the cost would be refunded. On Wednesday, 9/9/20, I received an email that the blind had been shipped. When I spoke with the (second) Customer Service rep, I was told that I'd cancelled too late. However, they DO have a recording of me cancelling and the rep telling me I would receive a refund. The second rep told me she would bring it to management for review. I said that the only acceptable solution for me was a refund. Further, I would NOT be doing business with them again EVER. It's irresponsible to tell a customer that an order is cancelled and then ship it with NO notification that there was a problem canceling. I promptly disputed the charge with my credit card company.
After one monthy, not has arrived, will sue them... Just receiving automatic emails etcc...

They shipped order to wrong place and are going to take just as long to fix it. Customer service agent was no help. Hope I get a refund or will have to file fraud charges.
When we measured the blinds, we measured to fit the inside of a window not realizing that when they make the blind, they take a 1/2 inch off of your original measurement. Why would they do this? So you're price range goes into the next pricing tear if you want your 1/2. We order Select Wave Faux Wood Cordless Blinds. They are straight plastic. Disgusting and pissed that I wasted my hard earned money on this crap. Will not return, because technically, nothing is wrong with them. READ the specifications and beware that the quality is not good.
Great company and great service, no need to leave the house, product is as described. I have them in my living room
My shades have come non functional, wont roll up, hang crooked, parts missing... customer service basically says that all these issues are normal and there isn't anything they can do. Normal to have a roller shade that rolls down but wont roll up? Really? I asked why if it's normal they don''t say on the web site that it will be a considerable amount of work, with multiple efforts and some developed talent to be able to get the roller shade to roll back up? They have no answer. The problem? They don't make anything at SelectBlinds - Select Blinds is a marketing company that takes your money, sends an order to a variety of partner companies who stamp their brand on the order. Since they don't make the product they don't service the product. Since the products are so cheap most/many customers will have problems, and as a policy, they keep your money and tell you that you are out of luck. That you can buy additional replacement roller shades at a discount! What nerve! No wonder they are among the lowest ratings of any business in America.
I ordered three identical blackout shades in May of 2020. Despite their order timeline that estimates a couple weeks until they arrive (for fabrication and shipping), they didn't arrive for almost two months.
When they got here, upon trying to install, I realized that they were slightly too large. This issue was on me - my window frames turned out to not be plumb from top to bottom, so they had to be remade. (All identically measured windows were all made 1/2" too wide).
After emailing to get this issue corrected/replacements ordered and not getting prompt responses, I called and spoke to a representative in an attempt to expedite the correction. He stated it would be taken care of and he'd call me back with an update on arrival (since I was concerned it'd take another 2 months). I got no call back.
I called today to get an update, and the representative said I'd need to pay for two of the three blinds because they "only offer free remakes for 1 blind", despite what their returns/exchange policy says "We also offer free remakes on "oops" orders where customers have made an error in measuring their windows" (explicitly states in the plural sense). Additionally, considering my windows were identical (only one measurement was given for all three windows), this wasn't three separate errors - it was just one.
Additionally, they are attempting to charge me over $100 for each of the two blinds - which is more than I paid for my entire order of three!
After sitting on hold to speak to a manager to (hopefully) get it straightened out, I was hung up on.
There is still no resolution. I'm out a couple hundred dollars, have blinds that don't fit, and a company that won't honor their own returns/exchange policy and seems to instead have a policy of frustrating/exhausting their clients to the point of giving up, rather than "guaranteeing 100% satisfaction" - it's an utter lie.
I recently ordered "light filtering" blinds from Selectblinds.com. They are very cheaply made and do not filter very much light at all. After speaking with customer service about my displeasure, it became apparant to me that they had no interest in making the situation right. To make matters worse, they consistently stated they were sorry that the product was unsatisfactory and strive to make customers happy all while not doing anything to fix the problem. I would think twice before purchasing any product from Selectblinds.com as they do not back their product at all. I would suggest going to a retailer or another custom manufacturer that backs their product 100%.
I purchased the blackout blinds 1 year ago for a large window in our house.
The quality on arrival was slightly questionable due to the large seam in the middle of the blinds not being entirely joined properly, allowing light holes to spill through. Pictures of this attached. (the dots)
This by itself bothered me, but being reasonable decided not to push for a return immediately after receiving. I was prepared to live with it.
This was maybe my biggest mistake.
During the course of the next 10 months the blinds literally starting falling apart at the seams.
Large tears were forming, fraying on the edges, as well as the blinds peeling apart.
I contacted customer service around the 11th month of having them, with a very clear cut email outlining the issues, with photo evidence.
I was more or less told that they dont see these as quality issues and accused our family of doing something to the blinds.
The accusation is ludicrous and offensive.
The blinds were professionally installed and were treated with care.
Needless to say the original problem with the seam being joined should have instantly warranted a return or replacement under warranty, but none the less, they outright rejected any repair or responsibility.
My case was escalated all the way to the top of management, and all efforts to get this company to view as a quality issue to be repaired under their very own warranty policy was rejected.
Please beware when dealing with this company. They will not stand by the product, and the warranty they put on the site when selling blinds they will not honor based on the simple accusation of 'you must have done something to our product'
Spend the extra few bucks, and go to another company that looks after customers and honors warranties.
Never again.
After spending $2,400 on Lifestyle solar blinds that were actually measured for outside mounting instead of the inside mounting that I wanted thanks to their super confusing and contradictory measuring guidelines, I was sick to hear from their apathetic phone support team members that the return policy they advertise is actually only for ONE window on ONE order, which really didn't help my 17-window investment. Not wanting too eat $2,400, I then requested the hardware I would need to make the blinds outside mounts, and was told FOUR different times by four different people on four different phone calls that they would make the request and someone would get back to me. No one ever did, and I was disgusted and gave up. On the one window we were able to make the sizing work for, the shade has to be weighted down because it snaps back up on its own. Super poor quality product, awful measuring instructions and zero customer support or return policy. Stay away.
Ordered a shade thinking it was going to be 1-5 days to be made as shown on their web site; 3 weeks later I checked on it and it was still a month out; was told by customer service the blinds are made in Asia! Credit card was charged as soon as the order was placed though; tried to cancel 2 days ago and no confirmation, called and talked with an uninterested customer service rep who stated it takes 24-48 hours to post. Isn't 2 days 48 hours?
Please make sure IF u decide to purchase from them that you order each blind separately. For one they have a return guarantee only on one item per order. So all 4 of my skylight blinds were incorrect and I can only return 1 to fix. The other 3 I can buy again at 10% off. The customer service has been nice but the return policy is not even close. It even mentioned on the website you can return if not fitting correctly. But again only 1 return per order. I paid $500 for these blinds and now can't use any of them unless I find someone else to fix there mess. Never again and I should have used my local person. And it took 3 months to get them. I would get a new update every 2 weeks saying sorry bc of Covid we are behind. But if u were closed say u were closed. As I later found out the manufacturing was not open for a while so nothing got done. Had I known my local guy could do and I could have cancelled. So stay clear and I would not recommend. I was able to take these blinds to a local person who says he can fix them for $70 and even mentioned the hardware is cheap and for what I paid for now. I could have gotten there blinds with a better warranty for just a little bit more. So shop and support local. Good luck and be aware on selectblinds.com.
Ordered gray blinds and received bright white. Called to say I want to return them and get a refund and was told they don't offer refunds on custom items... when by definition custom means to ones specifications... mine being gray not white! CS Rep said best they could do was give 20% off, and send new ones, but I need blinds in a room for visitors that will be here before new custom blinds would arrive... and I already ordered "custom" blinds and they sent the wrong ones, so I'm not exactly confident in their ability to deliver on their promises. Go to Lowe's and order blinds people, save yourself the hassle.
Answer: Semi scam. They do not honor 3 yr warranty. My claim, 6418454 was literally IGNORED with non response.
Answer: They won't accept returns. I ordered shades, which the pictures from their website clear show have a hidden bracket in the same color as the shade. We got bright white brackets that curl around the front of the shade and will be very visible to everyone in the room. They will look like a cheap knockoff.
Answer: I ordered on line from Home Depot. Better quality that Select's private label brand and quick delivery. I received perfect quality shades in 8 days. Select kept delaying and was up to 3 months delivery and counting when I finally was able to cancel.
