4.13.2017 I ordered 3517BM Bach Trumpet Megatone Mouthpieces - Bach Trumpet Megatone Mouthpiece - 7B. Today is 5.31.2017 and I still did't get nothing. They promissed me to deliver it in two weeks. Then one more week and one more and ...
I had placed an order for a Bach Trumpet, a new mouthpiece and a mute for my daughter's birthday. Both my husband and I were in constant communication with Dean, especially reading reviews after we had already ordered. I had not one issue with anything. Dean was upfront, kept his word and always replied back on email or answered the phone when my husband called. He was upfront with delivery and although the mouthpiece in mute were a little delayed (by a week), he was upfront about that as well. Both my husband and I were very pleased and will definitely do business with Pro Winds again!
He's also very knowledgeable as a supplier in the music bis. In the past year i've purchased 4 high end Jody mouthpieces for 3 different saxes and had a custom neck made in Japan from Yamaha. All these items took 3 or 4 weeks to arrive ( the neck took 3 months) and i did return ones i didn't want. Musicians are persistent ( OCD?) and patient, the best thangs take time. For me Dean delivered, though it all took quite awhile, and he delivered at cost savings compared to other sites i'd shopped. Yes there were delays, on one refund too, but all was resolved. Over all, Dean is a professional dealing mostly with professional musicians, so i fully recommend him. Franz
3 years ago, I bought a very expensive yanagisawa bari sax from Dean. Of course I was very concerned about sending thousands of dollars to a company I've never done business with. But the sax arrived on time. The sax was better than advertised and the price was the lowest listed on the internet. Then, I asked him for advice on a mouthpiece. He talked me into buying a mpc that was 1/3 the price of the one I was interested in. Again, the mouthpiece was more than what I had bargained for. Recently I called him about a tenor sax mpc. I just received it [on time] and it's the best tenor mpc I've ever played, and $10 cheaper than Musician's Friend. Dean has always replied to my emails promptly and every time I've called, he picked up the phone. I don't normally write reviews, but in this case, i'll make an exception. I'm very please with my experience with Pro Winds and will continue to do business with this gentleman in the future.
I was skeptical about this company after reading such bad reviews. I decided to give them a chance. I purchased a Yamaha Custom EX Alto Saxophone. Paid for it with PayPal. Paid in the morning and received the shipping tracking information by email the same evening. I received the horn 4 days later. Shipped from the New Jersey hub to Alabama. My son absolutely LOVES the Sax. Thanks.
I've read so many poor reviews and I'm not sure exactly why? Many times it's how one conducts themselves. Remember the old adage "you catch more flies with honey". I ordered about $800 on a mouthpiece and a case. I received the mouthpiece 3 days later, and was informed that the case would be sent from the distributor. I did not receive a tracking number for the case. I left an inquiry from their contact us page and received the tracking number the next morning. No problems at all for me!
Ordered a trombone mouthpiece via PayPal, but ProWinds website provided only "Pending" status for my order. After 3 weeks or so with no change in status, I checked out ProWinds on SiteJabber, and saw that order delay was quite common with ProWinds customers. This worried me, so I logged on to my Paypal account where I was able to draft and send, via Paypal, a firm message to Prowinds demanding that my order be shipped within a 1 week deadline. My message contained a link to SiteJabber to support my concerns about the delay in my order.
After 2 days, I received a notification from ProWinds that my order had been shippped, and I received it with no further problem. Submitting my message to ProWinds via PayPal gave the message some extra weight which was difficult for ProWinds to ignore.
I ordered a Francois Louis Gold played ligature and a music stand item on aug 29 and paid next day air. Didn't get ligature until sept 14 and that was after leaving several messages and no return calls. I still haven't received the other item yet. I called and same guy answers and I asked how come when I place order online it doesn't say if it's in stock. He said that's the way the music business is because they don't keep track of goods in database. This guy is a fraud. Stay away from him. I chalk this up to a loss and lesson to avoid pro winds and I will every chance I get to slam him and his amatuer company.
It's quite difficult to get any information from ProWinds regarding orders. I have ordered and exchanged items multiple times and they provide no shipping/receiving information. I have to chat live at least 2 times a week just to find out what's happening with my orders and even then they cannot provide an exact shipping date. Pro Winds doesn't really carry professional items and they are quite slow, as well. I don't know how things are done in MN, but they should definitely step up their game.
*Update - I recently left similar feedback on the Pro Winds Facebook page. Instead of replying or correcting the issues, they actually erased my comment from the page. Unbelievable.
I have ordered and paid for a saxophone neck strap on 16 October 2015. Being overseas, I have also paid $30 extra for UPS express delivery. Today,@ November, my order is still showing as "pending" on ProWind's website and my two emails and international phone call remain unanswered.
I will never order anything from this site again!
I ordered a practice mute on July 8th, and as of today, Halloween, October 31st, I haven't received anything, even a note explaining why the status of my order was still listed as "pending" on their website. They only responded to the first of my e-mail queries, two weeks after the order, but all subsequent e-mails were met by cyber-silence. One representative in August told me that the factory workers in Wales were off for the month of August, but that a shipment was imminent in the beginning of September. Another simply told me that the mutes were so popular that they simply didn't have any to ship, and that I could cancel my order if I wanted. Please, gentle buyer, beware this firm... it doesn't seem to care whether your order gets filled or not.
I ordered a new Bach Trumpet through Dean Foster. I can only say that the service and communications was great. Dean followed through with Conn/Bach to make sure that my new Bach trumpet would be delivered to me in a timely manor. Dean at Pro Winds was great to work with and will be my number 1 choice to buy musical instruments and gear for now on. Pro Wind also have great prices and can get anything you need in the musical field.
Pro Winds was so helpful to me when I was looking for a certain quality music product. They worked with me when difficulties arose and even offered to upgrade at no cost when the certain product that I was looking for was not available. I would definitely recommend considering Pro Winds when looking for music products.
My saxophone shipped really fast was cheaper than I saw other places. Would shop here again.
Ordered a mouthpiece for child's saxophone. No indication was given at the time I placed my order that the item was out of stock. After receiving no email showing the item had been shipped, but payment had been deducted from my checking account, I called the company. Was told the item was in receiving and would be shipped that day via priority mail. Waited a few more days, still no email regarding shipment. Checked the order online, no change there. Called the company again and was told the same thing as before. Was told that they get orders everyday from their supplier... well then why did it take so long for them to get it in stock? Cancelled order via phone. Received no email that they actually cancelled order, however refund did show up in my account. Won't order from them again, especially now that I've read other reviews.
I ordered a saxophone for my daughter, and she is really happy with it. It shipped quickly and when I talked to a sales rep on the phone, he gave an even bigger discount! We'll be back if she ever needs anything else for band.
I wanted a professional C trumpet this past spring but wanted to try multiple horns. Prowinds let me order 3 Yamaha Custom C trumpets and try them all. I sent 2 of them back for a full refund. Living in rural KY this was a great setup, and I will give them my business for as long as I can!
I bought a custom Charles Bay alto sax mouthpiece. 60 days passed they don't send the mouthpiece I send lots of mail but did not answer. They are totally scam please DO NOT buy anything from prowinds.
I just ordered a saxophone for my son. Item came in 2 days and plays great. The sales rep was very helpful as I was really not sure what I should be looking for.
The Band Director at the school said sax is first class and will be great.
Thanks!
A SCAM operation. STAY AWAY! I filed a claims despute with ebay & paypal. I ordered a mint demo saxophone via ebay. I never received it! Called several times only to be told I would soon receive it. I called six different times over a 7 week period. No one seem to know when I would receive the horn. After futher investigation i noticed that they were selling the same mint demo sax over & over agin on ebay. They haven't refunded my money yet. However I did pay via paypal and had the buyer protection insurance. I hope to get my money back soon.
Answer: For questions inquiring about a certain product, it would be best to contact their main online live chat or email them with the inquiry.
Answer: ProWinds gets their items shipped straight from the distributor. It would be best to contact them through the online live chat or email to let them know. Most of the time they are at liberty of the distributor and can't help but receive the backlash.
Answer: I did get a response via messenger a couple weeks ago - but they never pick up the phone or return a call. I'm having to go through my credit card company
Answer: They are completely unresponsive to email and phone. If I were you I would cancel the order and find another source. I'm going to have to go through my credit card company to get a refund on mouthpiece audition
Answer: They are at liberty of the distributor, it would be best to contact them directly through email or online live chat with Dean to inquire.
