WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered a dress and it was wayyyy big even though I followed the sizing chart so I had to send it back and pay for shipping and I am still currently waiting for my "exchange code". I chatted with an online representative about questions regarding a new dress I wanted and she'll say one thing and then say another contradicting the first thing. I had to correct her many times. Its like she doesn't know what she's talking about. The event I need it for is quickly approaching and they couldn't be any less help. I should've stayed away like all these reviews warned. Its also ridiculous to pay a "restocking" fee as well. I am beyond angry at this company. Do not order unless it says "in stock" and you are 100% sure that you are ordering the correct size/dress!
I purchased a dress that I needed in 2 weeks and when I got the confirmation on the order I noticed they were not going to ship it for 6 weeks. I immediately tried to cancel the order and they refused. They said they didn't allow cancellations. They said they would ship it to me in 6 weeks and then I could return it to them. Of course I would have to pay for shipping and pay a fee to return it. What a ripoff. Dishonest way to do business.
I bought my prom dress from here 11th feb and it came this morning! I like it... though it is not as the picture looks. I bought Designer Ball Gown by Night Moves 6039 and it is more of a bluey colour than the pic. And i may get the dimonds removed going down the side as it is just a striagh line with NO gather of dimonds at the end. For only £124 i am happy. (good job i ordered it 2inches longer because it is perfect length, any shorter i'd be crying right now) The bad reviews was a worry but I would look other places before buying a dress from here. I was trying to order a dress for their Valentine's Day (VAL20), and tried to discount one of the dresses they CLEARLY had chosen for the discount. I asked customer service for help because the discount would not work. Not only did they do a lousy job of getting back to me on time, but MARIA assumed I was stupid enough to not know how to enter in the discount code and lazy enough to not check the frickin dress I was trying to order. It took CAITLYN to tell me that the dress wasn't on discount, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON THE WEBSITE SALES PAGE. Dear promgirl.com, if you are going to be lazy enough to not manage what dresses are on sale on the internet, don't f**king have sales in the first place so you don't give people the damn runaround for weeks on end.
I should have listened! I told myself everyone gets a little harsh in a review. Ha. Not so. I did not even order from this site. I got a message that said my dress was not available in my size... THEY STILL CHARGED MY CARD! And the sister site, Simply Dress, I tried to order there. I got some error message that told me to try again. I did. Same message... THEY CHARGED MY CARD TWO TIMES! So now I have 3 charges for NOTHING tying up all the credit on my card! Because of these people, I cannot book my honeymoon trip until this BS gets cleared up. The card company said the charges are PENDING but that is BS. I ordered NOTHING. The charge will fall off in 10 days, but thats TEN DAYS for NOTHING. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY! Even when I call them in the AM it wont every change the fact that I cannot book my honeymoon tonight and I feel my wedding plans are off to a horrible start.
I ordered a prom dress for about $450 in advance to be sure the dress was ready for prom. When my daughter put on her dress for prom night, the cheap nylon zipper got stuck and it would not move up or down. Finally, we got the zipper to zip to the top but then the cheap nylon zipper split apart. We had to drive to a friend's house and have my daughter sewn into the dress, putting her at least an hour behind schedule the night of the prom. I contacted Promgirl several times, and they have not given us a refund, a credit, a partial refund, a partial credit, an offer to repair the zipper, an apology or anything. They have not even responded at all to my most recent email. They have terrible customer service. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN.
I ordered a dress in the color I wanted and as shown on the swatches chart which was teal, I recieve my order and the color matches aqua I call the customer service and they tell me to send pictures to their email once they saw the pictures they said the color wasnt right and for me to send it back so I did and now a week later I recieved the replacement dress in the SAME color. I am so disapointed with this store the color is nothing near the picture and that was the WHOLE reason I purchased the dress. DONT shop there horrible service!

I saw a dress I liked at TT New York for prom and loved it... but it was $300. I went online to prom girl and saw the same exact dress for $99. I wasn't sure if I should order because of the bad reviews, but I ordered anyway. I used a coupon for free overnight shipping ("PGCoupUP" exp. 7/1) and my dress was here the next day, no problems. Since I tried on the dress at a different store, I was almost 90% sure it would fit, and it did. The only thing that bothered me is that I asked a customer service representative if it came with a shawl and she told me no... but it did. I definitely wouldn't order a dress from here if I wasn't able to try it on or if I had a hard color to match up... the policy is right there on the website so I don't see how you're upset at the company... because they charge a restocking fee and return shipping. Most dress shops are final sale for ALL of their dresses and don't even offer store credit... but anyways besides the rep, shipping was fast, free and my dress came in perfect condition.

Ordered prom dress for my daughter that was out of stock at other sites. I was leery at first since one of the only local stores that sold that designer told me that the dress would not be recut until June 2011 which would have been too late. I am aware of the "limited" return policy, but majority of Online stores have the same policy. It helps to try on the a similar dress first before placing the order to make sure you are ordering the correct size. My daughter was sure of the size and now has the dress of her dreams. Not only did I chat online "to get their response in writing", but also ordered the dress over the phone. I wanted to be sure the dress would arrive in time by placing an overnight delivery. The dress was waiting for us at the door on the very next day! My daughter is happy and that is all that matters.
Don't order there if you are not 100% sure that you will keep the merchandise. We were stationed in Germany when we ordered a couple dresses (picking the right size) for my daughter for prom. We sent 2 dresses back because they didn't fit and "ate" the restocking fee and all that stuff. The total store credit we received was $ 180.80 which according their return policy is only good for one year. We didn't have no need for a dress within that year. Make a long story short: I could have flushed that money down the toilet, because they took the returned merchandise and our money! I am wondering if their is no consumer protection for those kind of practices!?
I ordered a dress for a military ball. To make sure it would get here in time, i kept contacting their CS. They told me they can not upgrade my shipping, even tho i was willing to pay more and they kept telling me all different kind of excuses. Well after waiting for a week, the dress arrived AFTER the ball. Now returning the dresses is a whole other mess. The Hubby is deployed now and he is the one that returned the dress so untill i can speak to him i have no tracking number and after 1 1/2 months i have not been credited back over $500 as they say, they never recieved the dress. Never ever will i deal with this company again and their Customer Service is a joke! I totaly feel like they ripped us off!

I was then told it would be sent out immediately. 24 hours later no dress, I contacted them again and was told it was back ordered. I queried as to when I was going to be told, I was then told they just sent the email, it came from the person i was talking to. I then canceled the order and was told my refund would not include shipping charges. I ended up calling them and speaking to three more people before they agreed to a full refund. Well I kept checking for refund and nothing. I contacted them again and was told they were holding my money in case a dress became available. I had to argue and send a money request to finally get it.
I ordered a dress specifically for a New Year's Eve party in New Orleans and had confirmed the date of the event as well as my shipping address (in New Orleans). I received an email that my dress had shipped to the New Orleans address and the day before New Year's Eve, my mother called me in California and informed me that the dress had arrived there, but that the address on the shipping slip inside the box stated the New Orleans address. She ended up spending 100 dollars to overnight ship it to me for the party (I had already bought ALL my accessories to match the gold dress I had ordered). I called promgirl and they confirmed that they had been mistaken and had shipped it to the wrong address, but that there was nothing that they could do to reship another dress to me in time. I told them that my mother already had went to ups to ship it overnight and the man said that he was not convinced that overnight shipping on a holiday was that expensive. I have since faxed over the receipt for the shipping costs and complied with every piece of information they have requested, and still no shipping refund for the mistake that they admitted was their company's fault. Thank God my mother had the money to reship my dress. Please be cautious... this website has AMAZING dresses, but they are not necessarily responsible with communication or with accurate shipment information.
They have very bad business practices. I orded a dress on 3/30/10. Got an email on 4/1/2010 that stated my item shipped and included a tracking number. As of today 4/6/2010 I still had not recieved the order. I called to get more info and was told that the order had not shipped and would not until 4/10/2010. Additionally, when I placed the order the website stated that the product was "In stock: Ships next business day"... that obviously did not happen. When I called I was told that the only thing they could do for me was cancel the order... they falsly advertised that the item was in stock and then lied to me in an email that my order had shipped when in reality is never did!
