My parcel was "abandoned" (their words) and they refuse to do anything about it. They say it is because it has been over 30 days since the parcel was tried to be delivered, but within those 30 days I have been trying in vain to contact someone at the postal department about paying the excess customs duties. Now the parcel has been "abandoned" and it doesn't look like I will be getting any kind of refund. This dress was paid for by my mother for my daughter's prom as a gift. Needless to say we had to buy another dress and we are down over $400 for the dress with was abandoned. Good job Promgirl. Never again - stay away from this site.
My parents 25th anniversary is coming up So I ordered two silver dresses for the party. I am having a hard time finding a dress since I am tiny and there is almost no nice silver dresses anywhere! Anyways, I wanted options so I got two. I was so excited to receive them, but when I tried them on the first thing my husband said was..."Wow those look cheap" not really what you want to hear when its for your parents WEDDING! =( I returned them with original bags and everything, but somehow they keep saying they never received them. Now I have no dress, no money since they wont refund my money and my parents wedding is in 3 weeks. I literally started crying when they told me. I would never recommend this to anyone!
Return policy is horrible! Don't shop here please. I ordered a dress and followed the size chart accordingly. The dress still didn't fit! I wanted to change the size but it was a sale item so I couldn't even do that. I asked them for an exception because the sizing chart was off, but they said no. I'm never shopping here again.
I bought a dress worth $295 plus international shipping cost of $30 but when the dress arrived I was charged with $144.45 by UPS for import tax and other charges. It's so ridiculous, I have to pay an additional amount worth half of its price. Don't ever even try to buy if you're outside the US. I have to pay for it because my daughter needed the dress for her birthday. A very bad experience.

THIS SITE IS AMAZING! I ordered a dress for a semi-formal dinner, the dress looked okay online, but when i got it in person it was soooo pretty! I am very pleased with this site, and i only paid $120 for my dress. The only problem i had was the small was a bit big in the bust, but i got it taken in, and it was fab.

Just to add some positivity. I saw a dress at Nordstroms online, the night I want to buy it, it's unavailable. I look on Promgirl and it's in stock. I was extremely terrified of ordering from promgirl cause I had already read all these bad reviews. But I did anyway cause I really wanted the dress and I took my chances. Promgirl shipped my dress the next day, was on UPS tracking right away and I was able to track it. I paid for two day shipping, since it was the memorial day weekend it didn't come until today, which is still technically two days. It came quick, on time, right size, right color, in perfect condition, exactly like the picture shown on the website, all I need to do is alter the length cause I'm super short and I'm all good. I guess I was lucky, but I'm extremely satisfied with my dress and their quick service.
Ordered a dress for $185 on promgirl.com that I had seen in stores for nearly $500. Arrived within the promised time and is exactly the same as (not just a knockoff of) the one in an expensive dress store! So super happy with getting such a stunner for so cheap without the expected faults/ differences from original/ bad colour that so many online buys have. Awesome site! I would totally buy from there again! :D
Definitely think twice about using this company if you are outside of the US. Whilst they do state that there will be import duties applied, they do not state:
A) by not declaring their shipping charges on the export invoice you will be taxed on a nominal shipping charge over twice the rate you have paid.
B) Also they don't state that UPS will charge another handling charge on top of the other shipping and import duties.
By the time you get the dress, which is reasonable quality and just about average value for money, you will pay in excess of an additional 42% of the original cost shown on line including their shipping costs, or approaching 50% if excluded.

Make sure you follow the return policy exactly. My daughter ordered two dresses, paid for fast delivery, received the day of her prom, wore one to her prom that night. She asked me to return the other. I didn't look at the paperwork immediately. Guess what? You can't return after the event date! I called 6 days after the event for the return authorization. Their response, "our policy is clearly stated". Yes, in a perfect world I would have looked at the return policy immediately or my daughter would have given me the heads up, but I've never in my 52 years, purchased from anywhere that used an "event date" as a cut off! Or anywhere else but ebay that required a 5 day decision, so I never would have guessed. Yes, my daughther should have been more careful too, but really?! In the future my children will buy from other companies that have customer service policies that are more forgiving. They lost at least four sales in our family for future proms.
This company is horrible. My dress that I purchased looked very cheap compared to the photos. I paid $478 for a dress with a lot of beading that looked like crap. The cheap beading was literally falling off, so I returned it and was charged a shipping fee of $8 plus a 10% restocking fee. Customer service did not apologize or anything and asked me to send pics for proof. Their service is horrible and I do not recommend anyone to shop there. BEWARE!
Ok so my prom is on May 4th, 2013 and I had been searching for the right dress for quite a while & I came across this Scala dress on promgirl.com & I reallly really liked it I had heard both good and bad reviews about this website but since prom is just next week I decided to order it on 4/24/13 I chose next day ship because I needed it ASAP I received it on the 25th which was really great, i was sooo scared to get the wrong dress or wrong size etc. but I still took my chances and it was a great outcome! The color and the size were just right. It fit me perfectly :) I don't know why others have had issues with this company but I enjoyed shopping with them I would recommend this to anyone.:)

STAY AWAY FROM THEM,! Worst customer service ever! I ordered a dress that came 3" longer on one side than the other. They did not have a replacement to send me in time for Prom so they asked me to get a quote to have it fixed. Got one, called them back and send picture of dress. Then they said they checked all the other dresses like that one and they were all the same hem. So even with a picture, they didn't believe me. Then they asked for a written estimate so I had to go back and get that for them. Sent it to them and they offered me $5 more than the cost to get their defective dress fixed. I asked for $10 more because of my time, gas and inconvenience and they said no because I chose to keep the dress even though they offered me a full refund. Hello... I had to keep the dress because of the timeline and the tux and flowers had already been ordered to match. Got the dress back from being fixed and lo and behold, I find that the bodice is only sewn to the bottom of the dress in a few places... big gaping holes that were never sewn. OMG - DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

So basically I Ordered this dress on 3/18/13 and it says it would ship on April 12, Well its april 13th and i check my order because i never get an email saying it was sent. Well while checking it said the dress is on back order and wont ship till the 16th. I paid extra money so it would ship withen 3 days for that my prom is in 2 weeks. If i don't get this dress im screwed because my prom date already rented a tux with that color. I'm praying it ships in time. I emailed promgirl and calling them monday. I suggest to STAY AWAY.
I bought the cobalt shimmer Sweetheart Barry jay dress and I love it! It only took two days to ship and the size was perfect. People complain about the quality of the dresses but my dress was exactly what it looked like on the website and felt great.

The only good thing was how fast this shipped internationally (it took less than a week from USA to Australia). Otherwise, This was total $#*!. I ordered a really nice dress online, clearly a size 12. It arrived, with the tag saying a size 12, however the sizing on the dress was a size 6... clearly, I could not fit into a size six. Then the colour, oh don't get me started on the colour. It was, advertised online as a majestic purple... the only thing majestic was how horrible it was. It was like a mouldy plum, at best. I'm sure this is also partially my fault for ordering such a majestic colour, but oh dear it was bad. The good side for returns though, was that the online chat was really easy to use. The person helping me out explained clearly the refund vs return policy, and issued me a refund authorisation code. Hopefully that goes smoothly... This site has its up and downs, but thank god i ordered and got my dress months before my formal.
