THE ABSOLUTE WORST SITE. Not only did the dress we ordered look nothing like the website showed, but there were missing gems all over the top. When I tried to return the dress, I took pictures of the malfunctions and sent the dress back for a "full refund". Once the dress returned to the company, they found that there were NO MISSING GEMS?! They are obvioulsy blind? Therefore; I had to pay a 10% restocking fee. I will NEVER use this site again. Hopefully they get shut down soon.
My sister got a dress from here. She was very happy with it, and it was reasonably priced. I don’t know about their return policy, since she kept the dress. I would agree that they are not made of the highest quality material, but they still look great. My sister actually wore the dress for prom. A dress like that you are not going to wear often anyways, so it isn’t going to see much wear and tear.
I am not one to complain. I often think people are to harsh on these websites. But after my expirence calling the prom girl hotline I thought I had some ranting to do. I ordered a $378 dress for my prom, and paid $30 for overnight shipping. Imordered it Thursday at night so the next bussiness day would be Friday but it wont get here until Monday. If I ordered it Thursday earlier it'd be here, now, which is Saturday. Okay, whatever I can deal. Before I understood this I thought okay well I will call and see what's going on. I don't know the name of the person I got but it was the worst customer service I've ever gotten, I'm still in shock. She had a attitude and made me feel so stupid. I called again and asked to speak to a manager. The manager is what saved me from canceling my order and demanding a full refund. She was nice and understanding and said this isn't the first complaint she's gotten about the rude woman. I didn't get my overnight shipping reimbursed but I can live with that. I hope prom girl notices people spend large amounts of money on their site and their customer service should match the quality of their site. I would like to thank the manager for being so kind, and I may order from them again, they have a great selection of dresses. If you have get a rude repressantive on the phone please ask to speak to a manager or call back and ask to speak to a manager. It's a company's job to please the customer.
I took a chance to order a prom dress for my daughter after reading all of the negative reviews. They all were helpful b/c I was able to read the return policy and plan ahead. Prom is on May 7,2013 and I ordered on 02/24/13. I thought it would be worth the risk b/c my daughter loved the dress and found no other contenders. Thrilled to report that their website was easy to use, they shipped the dress the next day and we received on the 2nd day (even using ground service). The dress looks exactly like the picture and the size we ordered was spot on. Totally recommend this site for any prom dress shoppers. Sorry, didn't have to use their customer service or return policy.

My daughter decided to be in the class beauty pageant at her high school again this year. I realize that a lot of the other girls spent $500 + on their dresses, but I am not willing to spend that much. So, off to the internet I went. After searching tons of online shops, I stumbled upon Promgirl.com and couldn't have been more pleased to find THE dress! I took my daughter's measurements, entered them for the dress she wanted. We placed order on Monday and dress arrived on Thurs. Dress was perfect and just as pictured on their website. She even place 1st runner up in the pageant... judges scored her 28 out of 30 for her dress. Will definitely order from them next year as well!
The worst website ever. I had to pay shipping plus 40% the dress was originally priced at the door when it was delivered because they didn't consider international shipping chargers. When I tried to put the dress on the smallest size xs was way too big. I had to get it altered in time for my prom but then it turns out the stupid cheap zipper keeps getting jammed. Finally once I had the dress on for over an hour and things were finally looking up, I ended up with lots of scratched from the rough material under my armpits because it was a strapless dress. Not to mention the material felt really tough and cheap.
To wrap things up when I tried to contact them and leave my review on the page the dress was sold the didn't put it up. So all those reviews they have on the site are forged. I paid triple the amount I was expected to pay due to additional shipping fees and alterations.
At the end of the day all I got out of the stupid dress was one night of scratching and discomfort.
All in all. I had the worst experience of my lifetime with this company.
I would avoid this site at all costs. I bought shoes here for a formal event, and while they were advertised as a medium they were *at least* a wide width, and that's being generous. I told them the shoe sizing was wrong and returned the items.
After a 20% restocking fee (for an item that THEY described incorrectly) they would only give me store credit even though I searched for 30 minutes and could not find ANYWHERE on the listing that my item was store credit only.
I would rather pay more somewhere else than give this site my business again.
I ordered my dress for my prom online a 3 weeks before my prom (bad planning) it came in a week and i was so surprised. It was perfect and exactly how they described it. I live in New Zealand so i wasn't expecting it to come so fast. It also fit perfectly as i made sure i had checked the sizing chart to make sure as it was coming from overseas and it would be a big hassle to return it. Would defiantly shop there again for next years prom.
STAY AWAY! I wish I had checked out this website first. The dress I ordered was very cute and fit my daughter great, but the zipper and straps were sewn in so cheaply and poorly that it had to go back. I got approval for the return, they said they would deduct 8 bucks for shipping. I just got my refund, they withheld the 8 dollars shipping plus 20% restocking fee. Go any where but here!
-1 star for this company. First of all, the customer service is really really horrible. The reps are unable to help with any returns or size changes. REALLY READ THE POLICIES because you WILL be screwed if you find a slight problem with your dress and find that you need to return or exchange it but CAN'T. Or, if you argue long and hard enough, they will give you 1/4 of your money back in store credit - but you have to pay an additional $40+ on shipping and other fees for that return/exchange. For a $200 dress I ordered from a rather highly reputable company, my experience with them was unacceptable! I wasted double my money on a prom dress I didn't even get to wear once.

After reading so many horrible reviews I was pretty nervous to order from this site. But WOW! I ordered my dress yesterday and got it today. Less than 24 hrs later. It was in perfect condition and looked just like the picture showed. It fit great as well! It's a little long so I'll have to have it hemmed, but I couldn't be happier. I'd recommend this site any day and definitely plan to continue shopping here.
I placed an order with promgirl.com for 20% off and Free shipping with a purchase of $100.00 dollars. I had spent over $200.00 dollars. They did not give me what they advertised. Got the credit card bill and discovered it called them and they rejected the offer and would not give me the discount. I would never buy from them again. They are fools to lose customers. I will also make sure all three of my daughters friends pass this information around.
The dress we ordered was nothing remotely like the color pictured on the website and the sizing is much smaller than standard manufacturers. Their customer service reps were rude and unrelenting. I offered to ship the dress back in exchange for another size larger (and pay a re-stocking fee) and they refused. I did all of this within 12 hours of receiving the dress. I am absolutely appalled at the responses we were given. DO NOT order from this company unless you are okay with major color variations and be sure to order a larger size than you normally wear. After reading the negative reviews, I thought I should add another, more positive, story. We ordered a dress for my daughter that she just loved online. It arrived in 2 days--amazing! And it was just as shown online, from the named manufacturer, no obvious flaws. However when trying it on, the zipper broke and came apart.
I emailed Promgirl.com with some anxiety, after reading some of the reviews on this site. However they were very responsive. Not only did they accept a return without question, but agreed to refund my money as we did not have enough time to order another dress.
I would order from Promgirl again and likely will do so next year. They have an amazing selection of beautiful dresses and were very easy to deal with.

I got my dress that I ordered and it was a completely different color than what was shown in the picture and the sequins were literally coming off of the dress! The stitching was pulling out the instant I tried it on for the first time. When I called customer service they were rude and would not work with me in any way possible. Terrible website, stay far away. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. UNPROFESSIONAL. I bought a dress in 2011 from the website and hated how it looked on. Nothing like the picture. In 2012 I wanted to return it for store credit and get a new one. I didn't think it could be done because it had been a year but the woman on the live chat insisted it could be done. I was thrilled. I even asked her if she was sure it was okay since it was over a year ago and she said no problem. She sent me a return authorization code, I spent $25 on the shipping and off it went. 2 weeks later and I still had heard nothing of my store credit. I chatted the website thinking it was a mistake and instead I was told my return could not be processed because it was over a year old. I told the woman I already sent it and was given a return code and that it was ridiculous. After waiting to hear from her for 10 minutes she gave me a number and told me to call the manager. WHAT AN IDIOT HE WAS. He kept pausing and not knowing what to say. I told him his company made a mistake and he acted like it was no big deal. He didn't even ask me who gave me the code and you could tell he could care less about the mistake. He would not do anything about the problem even though it was obviously his company a BIG mistake. I told them how they wasted my time and it was absolutely ridiculous and he said nothing on the phone and sat there in silence. On top of all that, they had my returned dress for over a week, and did not bother to email me and tell me what had happened. They waited for me to contact them asking where my credit was. Incredibly unprofessional. He never even apologized for their mistake. Teribble website, will NEVER use again.
They really have the worst customer service of any prom site i've ever seen! We ordered my dress for a May 5th prom and they told me it was in stock when i ordered it. We paid extra for two day shipping to make sure i had it a full month in advance and they called me the day it was supposed to be DELIVERED and told me it was out of stock. Two days later they told me they still didn't have a new reship date. Two days after that, a dress i ordered from another website came in (a backup because promgirl was being horrible) and we called promgirl to tell them to cancel the order. They very rudely told us that they would not cancel the order because it could get shipping april 20th and that was plenty of time. After 30 minutes listening to them rudely tell ME how much time it would take me to get ready for prom and that it getting here april 25th was in time for a may 5th prom i hung up. We had to call the credit card company and ask them to refuse to pay the website the money. We're still having problems insisting we pay for the dress. DO NOT ORDER HERE. They have horrible customer service and it's just a money pit, no matter what they will get your money. Total scam.
I was looking for wedding shoes. I found and tried this particular shoes in a store but they didn't have the ivory color I was looking for, so I looked online and found the color and size (size 6) on Promgirl. When the shoes arrived, it was really small and it felt like a size 5. I called and emailed customer service, and no one seems to know why it is smaller, and I was told it should run true to woman shoes size. I decided to give Promgirl another try and just blind order it a whole size bigger (size 7). When I place the ordered it says the order will be shipped within 3 days. Later that day, I received an emailed stated the shoes were backed ordered and it would not shipped until May. (I needed the shoes the beginning of April for my dress fitting). I called and ask for a refund, and a customer service stated she cannot refund my money but give me store credit that I can buy anything on their website. I told her I didn't want to waste my money and buy anything from the website just because they would return my money! I eventually got my some of my money (they took 10% for restocking fee, and I spend about $16 on shipping)
