I HIGHLY recommend Promgirl if you are looking to buy a dress from their site, as they are very reliable and very professional! I live in Canada and even though they ship from the US, my prom dress got here SO fast! The first dress I ordered was too small (so if your in between sizes, go with the bigger size trust me!) so I had to send it back and order a size up. The staff there (the chat line as well as the call line) are VERY nice and they helped me so much and answered every question I had and got back to me right away. One of the chat line girls even worked late for me to make sure I got my situation with the returning dress sorted out! In only 4 days, I had my new dress with the help of the staff, and its absolutely stunning. The quality of the dress is amazing. Promgirl is my hero.

I bought a $200 dress for my sister's wedding, it was described as "ivory" and looked almost white and like a runway dress in the picture. When I received it, I was about to faint, the dress was yellow gold out of the cheapest material and sparkly sequin top looking like a Halloween costume!
I contacted them sending pictures of the actual dress versus the one posted online and they still were reluctant to give my money back because it was a sale item. I never in my life have heard of anything like this, any other store would have taken it back. They agreed to give me a store-credit, keeping 10% plus 8 bucks for a return label -WTF?! - now they are FORCING me to buy another one of their cheap looking dresses, ridiculous!
The only ones that comment with 5 stars are people working for promgirl or Highschool kids that are used to cheap Forever 21 fashion... great businessplan I must say though, they found a way to legally rip off people, knowing that America is full of kids waiting to waste their money on prom...
I will never buy another dress from them for as long as I live. I bought a dress for my brothers wedding. I didn't care for the way it looked or felt on me. When I started to fill out the return slip, it said I had to get an RA number from them directly. When I went online to get the RA# they informed me I was past the 5 day return limit and refused to give one to me. No where on the return slip does it say ANYTHING about needing to do it in 5 days. Be weary of buying from them.
Ordered dress TWO months prior, didn't get the dress till a day after, THEN when we did get the dress the sewing for top was uneven. I have bee taking with them for 5weeks for the process of refund. I have sent them pictures of what was wrong with dress, they asked if I get a seamstress. Now this is what they messaged me back.
Please return the dress back to us, the return shipping cost should be about $60, if you can keep the dress, we will provide you with a partial refund.

BUYER BEWARE! We ordered a prom dress and it did not fit. We returned within 5 days with the tags still on it and were charged a 10% restocking fee.no where on the website could we find the notice of the fee. To ad insult to injury they told us they would give us store credit of which we reluctantly accepted. The operator put me on hold and then changed his mind and tod me could not offer any credit.
Very very disappointed. With three daughters nearing communion age I will be looking elsewhere. I figure with sweet 16 parties, proms and other formats, they lost thousands to save 27 bucks. Bad business decision.

Purchased a 34" chest dress and it arrived on time and was packaged beautifully. The dress didn't fit! I measured it and it was a 30" back. WTH!
Requested a refund and then had to pay a gross shipping fee plus loose out on 10% restocking fee. Plus address given to me was not found in the postal system. Big concern:(

My prom is in two weeks. I ordered a dress from prom girl and got it 2 DAYS AFTER I ORDERED! This site not only got my size correct the color was just like the picture! AND it was long enough for my height! Perfect perfect PERFECT! I recommend this site 100%. If you think this site is a scam, here's your proof! I absolutely adore my prom dress! Also there customer service is very nice and they help very much. They aren't bad on prices but it's not cheap in any sort of way!
Terrible return policy. You have 5 days after you receive the dress to contact them for an "authorization code" and then 5 more for them to receive your return. If you are a single day off, too bad for you! If you don't choose a store credit, they dock you a 10% "re-stocking" charge…which, apparently, they don't incur if you are ordering another dress on store credit! Obviously not worth purchasing a pricier dress online with them. Dress was too big (size 4). Also, they are gracious enough to provide you a UPS return label FOR WHICH THEY CHARGE YOU $8!
I've ordered two dresses, one for a winter formal and one for my junior prom last year, from this site and each time, I've been pleased. This is the only online dress store I buy from! I've never had a bad experience purchasing from this site and my mom likes it too.

The dress will arrive quickly as long as they are in-stock and that's probably your best chance of having a quick arrival time. I advise people to buy the designer dresses (Sherri Hill, LaFemme, Jovani, Flirt!, Shail K... etc) rather than the plainer dresses "made" by promgirl.com. They are obviously more expensive, but designer dress quality won't be at the fault of promgirl, but rather the designer company itself so there's that. I buy my LaFemme dresses there and they're authentic too because the authenticity tags are on the dress and they order dresses from the designer company directly! Very pleased with all the dresses I've gotten, and they match the picture exactly and color swatches are quite accurate! Material is beautiful and more than what I expected actually!
As any shopper should, please read the refund/return policies before you order. Many people don't do that and then panic when something goes wrong. I don't think this site should have so many bad reviews because they're actually quite okay. Just order dresses that have your size ready to ship and in stock. Measuring wise, that's the risk at online shopping so you really have to check that yourself.
Always take precautions when ordering online, no matter how reliable the site is. You can't always rely on customer service to get things done. Promgirl does follow its strict rules but they respond fast by email.
Out-of-country people... do your best to order from places in your country because it's really not worth paying custom fees and international shipping unless you really have that kind of money.

Horrible! DO NOT ORDER. Neck opening is so small my petite daughter couldn't even get her head through it. I contacted customer service to send it back and the only answer I got was to have alteration shop fix it. Quality is nothing close to what you see on website.

I read the reviews before purchasing a dress and was extremely hesitant to order. After looking at video reviews on youtube I decided to. When finding a dress I did the live chat thing on the website and asked one of the girls a couple questions about the dresses I was looking at and she was super helpful and nice. My dress wasn't in stock so they said it'd take a couple weeks to ship out. I ended up getting my dress about a week early and could follow the shipment the whole time. The dress came and it looks beautiful. I had to get it hemmed because I'm only 5'1" and the dress itself is 5'0" but I expected that. Other than that the dress fits well and I cannot wait to wear it to prom in a week. I would definitely recommend promgirl!

After reading the reviews, I was nervous as to what the quality of my dress would be like, or if it would even get here in time for my prom. I had a wonderful experience with this company. I ordered my daughters Prom Dress at the last minute on March 28. I was told it would ship that day and I would have it by Monday. I was a little worried after reading some of these reviews up here but the dress arrived Monday Morning and was we couldn't be more satisfied. It fits perfectly and looks just like the picture.
