I asked for hamburger, it was 7am, the hamburger that was in the case was brown and out dated. The meat person told me that if he put the fresh out than the old wont sell. He said he would put it out before he leaves. Called corporate to complain they told me that the store director would call, they never did but the "fresh line" Manger called me and said we mark the old stuff down by 10%. Why would I want old hamburger. They sent me an email asking if my concerns were satisfied and I said no. Never heard back from meijer again. Been 4 weeks and I will not go back

Since the registers shut down automatically at 12 midnight, I was unable to check out, being a few minutes after, even though I was in the store before that. They would not open a regular register to check me out. I don't know if they could, but it should be possible or they should keep register open until customers all get checked. I'm not going back any time soon. I have bought lots of groceries there for a long time. I'll get another store now. The supervisor felt the need to keep reminding me that they had made numerous announcements. This was not polite.

I worked for Meijer for almost 3 years in the deli I absolutely loved the customers I loved the employees I worked with. I along with seven other people walked out of the job within 2 weeks when the new general manager falsely accused of my team leader of doing something she did not do she was also training me for team leadership and one of the managers played favorites and asked another employee if he wanted that position that I was being trained for she told me she was too busy trying to get people in to work she basically lied to me. Ever since I left I've had so many employees tell me how much they hate working there and that is sad. The only reason why a lot of the older employees are there are to finish out for retirement Meijer does not care about their employees any longer and that is sad I came back and I gave them a very good offer to come back and be team leader I gave them an offer of salary one they could not pass up guess what they passed it up they knew I was good at my job they just did not want me back they lost a lot of good people in their stores a lot of customers in their stores I go in there now the deli does not have half the business that used to. I was willing to help bring that business back. I used to have customers come in and tell me if it wasn't for the deli they would go shop somewhere else half the time they don't even have a hot case they used to have pizza which they no longer do. All because they cannot keep employees and I loved working there it is sad you can't fix stupid. Price wise they're getting expensive I hate some of the unnamed stores but I'm starting to go to them instead of Meijer because they are cheaper. I just wish one thing they would change their ways it's not the meier that it used to be. There's a saying management can destroy a business.

Fitting rooms

Hey let's sell clothes and close the fitting rooms permanently! I don't know if this is company wide but the one in lapeer mi closed the fitting rooms permanently. Let's make everyone come back to return clothes that don't fit! Way to drum up business meijer! Even good will and salvation army have fitting rooms! Ridiculous!

Did the online pick up. Went to Meijer on June 19th purchased groceries online $118.00. June 20th had a charge from Meijer for $116.93. Never went to the store on the 20th. Meijer was contacted by my wife on June 21st. Never contacted us back. I contacted them on June 27th. Over 1 hour on the phone with them and they still refuse to return our money. Seven Hills Police Department has a report on this. Meijer manager knows about this from the police officer. Had to contact our Discover Card and report fraud charge. Not one time did Meijer reach out to us and try to make this right. I was hung up on twice by two Meijer employees with customer service with corporate. Never will we shop there again! Giant Eagle and Acme are very close. First time in my life have I been treated this way by a business. If I could leave a zero rating I would.
I thought I would give and update. Today was the day Discover told me to call back. Meijer never addressed the issue with Discover. Meijer would not let me talk to anyone about what's going on with my dispute! Meijer does not care about customers and when it's their mistake or an employee fraud. Multiple times I was promised from Meijer I would receive an update. Now, Discover says this dispute can take up to 60 days. At this point, Meijer has stolen $116.93 from our family. Not once have they tried to make this right. 3 hours invested in trying to get this resolved! #donotshopmeijer

Got a gift card for Father's day 100 dollars used half in store tried to get gas at 7am they couldn't read card happens all the time need to go to customer service at store. Went to customer service it's 7.30am now customer service does not open until 800 am how can a store be open and operational without customer service what if they overcharge me at register have to wait until 800

Rotten fruit

I reluctantly tried ordering a small amount of groceries online, to pick up. I am sick and didn't want to go into the store. Horrible mistake.
I like to pick out my own fruits and vegetables but I figured I am pretty safe with pears, oranges and bananas. The pears I received shouldn't even be for sale. Totally unacceptable. I was given rotten fruit! Oranges and bananas were not ripe but I can deal with that. I am surprised how many people order food this way.

I shop at Meijer regularly. Products are decent for decent prices. But today I'd been working in the yard all day and didn't feel like going in to shop, so decided to order online and pickup. NOT POSSIBLE. I tried 3 times, every time it switched to Delivery and added 7.95 for the fee. I tried the ChatBot, which got into an irritating loop of telling me, "It's easy to switch between Pickup and Delivery!" I never was able to do it. Glad Kroger's was open!

IS THERE ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE WHO HATES OR IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH MEIJER'S SHODDY 'SELF-CHECKOUT' SYSTEM? (especially the Ft. Gratiot MI location) I've been having trouble with both the lousy 'old' and the recent 'new and improved (?)' self-checkout systems for about 4 years now. The old – constantly red and green lights stopping and then clearing the way to continue, the lights sometimes flash red then green so often they should use them for blinking Christmas lights. Lots of 'wait for attendant' notices (key word here is WAIT), machines stopping your order with a red light somehow thinking it's a separate order (not exactly Artificial Intelligence), see the line you're in get the dreaded red light and jump to another? That lane often will get the red light too. Other glitches also. On to the 'new and improved' system. The machines will often spit back or reject perfectly new and fine bills from the on-site ATM or my bank. Over and over. Often the few and sometimes overwhelmed human attendants can't get to you, will walk right by you and say "I'll be back to help you in a minute" and then disappear to the back of the store to put items back. Other attendants will come over and 'push the wrong button' to solve your problem and cause more delays. I'm missed a dozen or so buses at least by just a minute or half a minute over the last 4 years. I end up spending 1-1/2 hours for 30 minutes of shopping and 10-20 minutes of of checking out. "Try allowing for more time" you say? I allowed an extra 10 minutes last night and STILL missed another bus. Again. I complain half the time, but get lame apologies, lip-service about speaking to the employees and improving things, etc. but the same problems keep happening, even with their shiny new and improved system. THEY DON'T OR CAN'T FIX THINGS. Or maybe don't really care. I know a couple of people who also don't like the Meier's checkout experience. Even some of their employees don't like it! I've cut back my Ft. Gratiot Meijer's shopping by 2/3's. Maybe I need to skip them even more. Feel free to post your own horror stories.

This was my 2nd & last bad pickup order experience with Meijer. We will never shop at Meijer again, period. The last attempt, on 2/8/23, was a $298 order at the Canton, Michigan location and was also a mess because they canceled my order right as I pulled in to pick it up; the young lady at the pickup said there was nothing she could do because now my order had just vanished. Okay, but you sent me replacements to approve? Never resolved, no apology, no let me see what we can do, nothing.
I have a back injury that hinders walking, so I placed another online order on 5/3/23 to be picked up at 6 pm 5/4/23 at the Livonia Michigan location. I get a text at 10 am saying it's ready for pickup. Unfortunately, I was working and unable to go that early, which was why I scheduled a 6 pm pickup. At 5 pm, my husband left to pick up our order only to call me saying that the payment was declined. I checked my account, and the charge went through. The store director told my husband there was nothing they could do because that's not what was showing on their end. He leaves the store and calls me furious, without any of the groceries or a refund of the $263 we spent. They insisted the payment did not go through even when he tried to show them that it had. So I called customer service frantic and spoke with Felicia at first, who was terrific; Felicia confirmed the payment went through and tried to assist to the best of her ability. She then transferred me to another wonderful customer service rep named Pam who was also terrific! She tried to call the store, but just like when I called, they did not answer; she confirmed that the payment did go through, we had been charged, and that they had MARKED THE ORDER AS COMPLETED meaning the charge would not have been reversed. The store made absolutely no effort to correct the issues on either occasion. They just acted like it was not their problem. That was my child's breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the week. We are not wealthy and do not have that kind of money to throw away. I wouldn't recommend Meijer to anyone ever for any reason. They try to rip people off!

The first time I went to pick up my grocery order they forgot half the items. Went back the next day to get the other half they missed, and they forgot half again. So I drove a total of three hours to not get my full order and have to wait at least three days for a partial refund. Never ordering from here again.

Have been buying pick loin at Meijer for a number of years. Bought one last week that was the worst ever...totally devoid of any flavor and very tough meat - like shoe leather. Coupled with the crappy quality of produce, this mY help me make the decision to finally move on from Meijer. They continue to raise prices and reduce quality. Don't Evidently care about the customer.

Please, clean your bathrooms. Hire a volunteer or me to check them a couple times a week. Get rid of perfume selling at your store and don't allow smoking cigarettes in front or outside of your store, because it is causing an allergy problem of itching and fleas and spiting and coughing. Also, please don't allow returns anymore. Other than that I love meijers. I love your variety of foods and eating area and clothes.

Returns - Customer Service is only open until 8pm for returns but the store is open until midnight for the convenience of their customers. There aren't many Meijer stores. I drove 45 min out of my way to make a return this evening after verifying that the store was open until midnight.

Customer service without the customer in mind.

So very sad what Meijer has become. I use to enjoy shopping there, but now it's always a terrible experience. Their sales (buy 2 or more to get sale price) are pathetic, the shelves are empty of key items on my list, items on sale don't ring up properly (they didn't take signage down from the week before), the lines are a good 20 minutes+ long (2 cashiers available on a busy day before a holiday). I'll use the self check-outs when I have less than $100 in my cart but not on $200+ orders. I've used the Order-onLine to pick up groceries and that stinks too. Most of what I want isn't in stock. I go to the Meijer in Portage, Michigan. Get it together Meijer...I've heard this from many others and you are losing customers daily. I've been a loyal customer of yours for 40 years but it's coming to an end. I hope someone from your company that has some clout is reading these reviews. They are all one star lately. Pathetic.

Truck Driver JAY Call Me

Jay, the trucker in Lafayette Indiana, call me *******440. Ask for Mark. Meijer in Lafayette booted me too. $1000.00 to let me leave their property. I bought groceries there. The three thugs who booted my truck claim to be out of Sheridan, Wyoming. They are running an extortion campaign. They are pocketing thousands of dollars a night when Meijer and WalMart are closed.

It has happened several times sale price does not register, Meijer was a awesome place at one time there customer service is awful last three times I went they were rude & some employees should not be working there period. Don't know if I will be going back to Bolingbrook Illinois Meijer. Thought I would try again. There was a older lady that purchased spaghetti sauce from a shelf that had sale on it (also saw it) she bought 4 red one white same brand, they over charged her, she was in front of me at customer service, customer service lady said loudly said the white is not on sale customer said why is it stocked with it then no other price. Well I want my money back then, customer service lady told her well you can bring it back next time you come, older lady said there won't be any next time I won't be back, customer service said fine loudly. I tried to get a rain check because they were out of stock of pot pie that was on sale she told me come back tomorrow they restock I said what sale end today she said oh. No I can't give you a rain check. I then told her what the hell I won't be back this store is going down hill this was on 2-11-23 early afternoon they better improve I heard several people complaining in check out

Lack of product
January 27, 2023

I come into Meijer only to once again find a limited selection of cottage cheese and frozen vegetables. Then I go through a cashier maned isle to have the bags at the end of the cashier stand pointed out. I'm trying to bag my own groceries, enter my M perks when the rude person behind me pushes my cart out of their way and knocked my wallet purse and credit card off on to the floor. I think I will be shopping at Aldi a lot more. Meijer, premium prices for subpar service.
