They did an auction to sell my fathers house so we would have money to pay for his care in a nursing home.
I have a picture with one of the workers with her going through my briefcase. We have tried repeatedly to contact the company and get no answer. The police have tried to contact them no luck. I finally found an address in White Plains and still no response. I have emailed them called myself and no response. I think these people should be shut down.
The US company person I talked with was an appraiser, so she knew the value of our vintage and antique items. The local person was not very knowledgeable about items, more of an organizer for people clearing out houses. She charged by the hour, and after all was done, we didn't even clear $100 for literally thousand of dollars of antiques. The Lots she grouped were so large that adequate descriptions were not possible. Also, the number of "eyes on the auction" was pathetically small.
I am writing about Maxsold to warn everyone not to sell or buy from their online auctions. For one they customer service don't know really anything about auctions, their online chat is just generated responses. You can't get a manager, owner or any legit person to contact you. They have no problem trying to charge you card over and over again but will not return my call or claim that someone will get right back to me. I have bid on many items & wanted more info on them snatches, damages, labels & they send they can't help because the seller never returns their calls. First of all that's bull... The sellers want to make as much money as possible. I have been a antique dealer for over 25 years & spent a lot of money in auction houses online & in person and the lack knowledge, etiquette, & large commissions that they charge to the seller who does ALL THE WORK is a disgrace. So when I was questioning myself on purchase, I went on the Better Business Bureau, I was confirmed to NEVER BUY from this company. The reviews & complaints are REALLY BAD & MANY. And the saddest thing in they take advantage the seller BIG TIME. This company should be shut down.
This company is AWFUL do not use. They not only charge a hidden fee but charge the buyers a fee! Stealing from an old lady with Alzheimer's… sad day when they make more than her to pay for her care.
Do you have girls that work with you or for you, Sarah Tammy, morissa, April and many more that do meth on their break and steal from the people they are supposed to be helping I will not hire this place. It is a joke they have no idea who they're hiring to do the work.

An awesome experience! Downsizing our parent's home for their move to a senior's residence was easy with MaxSold. Within hours of emailing we'd arranged for a team to photograph and catalogue. Tammy and her team were professional and empathetic when helping to rearrange items into lots and presenting information.
The next step was to review the catalogue make corrections and add pertinent information. I should have been more thorough as I missed a few things. Once we approved the catalogue, a start date and pickup date were picked to fit our plan. The team's cooperation was great.
Pickup went better than I expected with over 380 lots. The team kept everyone moving, sorted out any problems, and tracked everything. It was amazing to watch 56 years of acquisitions move into new homes! I'll be calling on MaxSold again!

One of my friends went to go pick up a painting an hour away to be told it was missing 5 minutes before they got there. Scammers and junkies keep bought items for themselves.

This was my first time using the auction site and was extremely pleased with their organization of picking up items and their descriptions. I struggled a bit with the usee of their website but started to get the hang of it after the 1st bid. Workers friendly and accommodating.
Having worked at an auction house and been to many estate sales I knew what to expect. I had all my sold items in the garage or near exits so customers didn't have to enter more then necessary. Nothing got damaged no one was hurt. No one was unsatisfied. The pick up day went smooth even though only a handful of people showed up on time, but hey what do you expect from strangers? I can hardly get family and friends to show up on time to an event. There were some customers who tried to park in other peoples driveways (of course people are stupid and inconsiderate). My parents always told me if you want something done right do it yourself. So if you think hiring an auction company to do it all for you and you are expecting the best results you are wrong. You are just hiring strangers who don't really care what the outcome is because no matter what they are getting paid hourly. If you don't want something stolen or sold by auction crew or real estate managers after you have left the property then secure your precious items you dummies. I highly recommend doing seller managed auction because if something is not right then it will be your own fault. I enjoyed using maxsold seller managed auction and would do it again.
Maxsold was advised items were being advertised as autographed with false signatures. They refused to remove my bid and allowed others to get into a bidding war without disclosing the issue. Customer support is lazy and uncaring. My account has been closed due to their unethical behaviour

MaxSold is a great website for resellers and collectors to source or find items for their collections. The prices are usually a bit more affordable than other sites. The auctions run by MaxSold, in my experience as a buyer, are well run and the workers are extremely helpful. Chances of finding an auction at close distance to you is high and you can save on gas in this economy!
We used Maxsold to auction off the contents of our house. From the very first phone conversation right through to the end of the pick up process the staff at Maxsold were clear in the explanation of their service, gave solid advice and managed our expectations appropriately. We used their full service option and as a result sold over 90% of our items and after the initial fee and commission we actually got a decent return.
Wade was super helpful every step of the way and Avi and the cataloging team and later the pick up team were professional and efficient. If I were to make any suggestion at all for improvement it would only be that it might be a good idea to place a sign on the lawn for the duration of the auction indicating the information on how to access the auction. Terrific job Maxsold!
I would like to file a formal complaint about your pickup process. The entire thing was a disaster and would have been even worse had my brother not been there to supervise (even though we were specifically told no one had to be present) Please see details below. I am not sure if this is the typical way you do business but it was completely unacceptable and we are extremely unhappy.
1. One buyer showed up late with no tools or help, piled a number of items on the lawn until 4:45 (more than an hour after the scheduled end time) and then wanted to go back inside to take apart a treadmill. When my brother said he needed to be out because we had a cleaning crew coming, he was told that the entire sale would be cancelled and we would be responsible for the pile of stuff sitting on the lawn. My brother allowed the buyer to remain until he was done.
2. Mud was tracked on the downstairs carpet even though we provided booties for people to use.
3. Wood floors were scratched because pickups were done unsafely and unsupervised. Heavy items were slid across hardwood floors
4. People were allowed to drive on our lawn and destroy the grass.
5. One buyer attempted to steal the microwave that is attached to the wall and would have gotten away with it had my brother not stopped him, the employee supervising him was not attentive.
6. Multiple times people were wandering around the property unsupervised because the staff was not being attentive.
I sent this complaint a week ago and have gotten no response whatsoever. Would not use again or recommend to anyone.

There are a bunch of good things and a few bad things about MaxSold. Overall, you can generally get great deals whether or not you're reselling, furnishing a house or just looking for items to put in your house. The pickup experience can be good or bad depending on the team that is working and whether or not it is a partner-managed auction or MaxSold-managed auction. There are often mixed requirements about masks. Customer service can be tricky to work with and they offer no flexibility on pickup times once the pick up is scheduled. Overall, it is a pretty good experience.
Hard work while having fun and always learn something new. Socializing with great people at the some time.
Item was dirtier than looked in photos, with quite a bit more lint and dust and stuff stuck to the exterior than you could see in the pictures. But was expecting to be giving it a good cleaning and service anyways, so not a huge deal. Just may have worn gloves and an older shirt to pick it up :)
I have an extensive collection of flatware, coins, stamps and fine china from my parents estate. Items go back to the 1800's. I contacted MaxSold and spoke to an individual for an estimate where I showed everything via a video call. He was excited and said I had real value here. He explained that MaxSold would come onsite and catalog everything for a fee of $800 and 30%. This evening I received a call from Stephanie who explained that I needed to unpack everything and have it available for pictures or there was a fee of $100 per hr per person (two people) to setup. There are bins of coins mostly in sleaves, boxes of flatware and fine china all available in my basement for photographing. I am upset that their sales practices are misleading. $800 seemed fair to me but a potential $1600 above that for setup is not.

I have used several on-line auction sites, but this was the best experience Hands Down. The signing up and bidding was seamless, nice items( I mean I got some really nice items). The pick up was posted so I knew exactly when and where I would be getting my things. When I went to pick -up I was surprised to see all my items neatly separated, some already boxed up, and there was not a long line like I had anticipated.
One of my favorite functions, or options, is the ability to retract or lower my bid if I change my mind. Sometimes I get wild in my bidding so this has helped me out a lot.
Staff seems super nice and to enjoy their work which is nice to see. Keep it up!
