Legacy box advertises like crazy and out and out lie about how long it will take. I tell every one I know what horrible company Legacy Box is to work with. It took months plural for you to process the order. Did you send any updates? None at all. And then when I contact you, you act like it is no big thing. Don't worry I will put this on Google, yelp and any other platform I can find you in.
I had sent my Legacy Box nearly 3 months ago. It's still in queue waiting to be processed. I had used other company services with a 10 day turn- around. Three months is pretty crazy.
I still don't have my digital files yet.
I should have supported local and for 30 bucks more I would have had my product in 3 weeks not 5 months for a one box deal communication didn't come until the 4th month when I was told it was in processing delivered product is slightly above average will never use or recommend them good luck getting the to respond to emails and no phone number anywhere!
I bought a 10-tape box as a gift for my wife on Mother's day. When she went online to activate the gift, we were informed that an additional $40 was due for a USB drive to put the digitized files on. When I complained about the unexpected fee, they basically said, "too bad, pay". Two and a half months later, we finally received our tapes back and the USB drive with the digitized files. Most are of satisfactory quality, but at least one will have to be redone because the image shakes badly and has static. I'm not sending it back to them, I will try Costco. One tape at a time.
Went with the starter box. You can only send back 3 reels for the start up price or pay more for extra reels. On the super 8 sound reels they DO NOT do sound transfer with the final product. Just want to let future customers know in advance. Please check the status of your order on your own because they did not send a confirming email to me that my final product was sent, but after getting my cd back, the quality was great and got my originals back in the same condition as sent. They even told me my old films was damaged and fixed it at no charge. Thank you Legacy Box for the memories.

We took advantage of an offer thru a third party. We got busy and needed to contact LegacyBox after we waited too long. They continued to honor the original order and all we had to pay for was the UPS shipping as that had expired. Most items copied well although some videos were very grainy.
Started badly, they took almost a month more than they first said. Over 10 of my videos came back with stickers that said that they had damage, however I just watched them. The dvd's are poorly burned, some cassettes they didn't even copy the complete contents. Waste of time and money

This service costs way too much money for what you get. I even got 60% off and it was too much. Transferred videos have no sound and are not edited. I spent hours editing my videos. I paid for expedited service so I got them pretty quickly. But otherwise this is not worth the high cost.
During the pandemic, I had purchased several Legacy boxes to convert old analog videos and photos to digital. I would rank the service as 4 star since it was just convert the photos "as is" with no attempt to improve picture clarity prior to scanning. On the videos, they converted all the videos but many were very poor quality which they did state in a note when they sent finished files. I don't believe they should have converted the very poor videos without sending a note to get my approval 1st. Lastly, it took more than 12 weeks to get each of the orders back which was a month more than the maximum processing estimated interval. They did provide the scanning for very reasonable price as I used Groupon deal for 1000 photos/30 videos.
My husband and I are both 80 and wondered how in the world would we be able to share the multitude of old (very old) home movies, VHS tapes, photos etc with the up-and-coming younger generations of our family who never knew our parents or grandparents (and other distant relatives). Legacybox solved that problem for us. At first we were hesitant to send all our original (and priceless) film to a company we didn't know, but their professionalism and reassurances finally won us over and I'm so glad we took the plunge. We are thrilled with the results and have subsequently found more items to send them.
Okay so I have heard and read about these type of services that would take my valuable film memories and turn them into a modern digital format. I was skeptical but took a chance on LegacyBox. Not only did LegacyBox deliver as promised but even exceeded my expectations. Their customer service was responsive and polite and treated me and my films like I was their most important client. I have already placed another order. If you are thinking of doing this do not put it off any longer. You will be pleased with the seamless process. Start to finish.

My KIDS are 53 and 54 yrs now. The films were where they were about 5 and 6 you talk about happy happy kids. They pointed out stuff we all forgot about plus some great memories. I am so glad I decided to do this trial run, because I have Lots more I plan on gathering. The little flash drive in on my key ring how convenient when traveling

I thought I was purchasing a service package. Turns out, I purchased one "discount code" which was 50% off a 10 item box. At check out, it says "discount code isn't valid for the items in your cart" - then what, pray tell is it good for? Nothing. You will still have to pay full price at check out.
I gave them a second chance through their site as the first time was through Groupon and thought that may have been the problem. (I ate the cost). Second time through their site directly, the same result. I just requested a refund. Seems like a scam to me!
I just reviewed my film to digital downloads and they are utterly dreadful. I spent more than $150 on a 10 reel deal - and all the video is grainy and faded. Every reel looks the same. This was a heartbreaking disappointment - precious memories that I wanted to share with family. A long wait for nothing

This means that the quality of your originals will directly reflect the quality of your digital output. We do not offer editing or enhancements at this time. Even in the best kept of conditions, film does start to deteriorate naturally after about 10 years so unfortunately this may have affected the quality of your digital transfers.
I paid for 50 items to be converted. Just received my box back and 24 DVDs were not converted and no refund pending. Also quality is worse than the originals supplied. I will be filing a complaint with my credit card company. I would not recommend this service.

I am in my late 50's and never have written a review in my life. Legacy box is a complete waste of money. The quality is beyond sub-par and customer service is completely non-existent. Multiple calls, texts, and emails for months and have had no response. There are multiple other companies to trust your children's early years videos to transfer. DO NOT use Legacy box.

It's been 4 months, I moved in the interim and was assured by email that my address was updated. Besides the additional 8 weeks of waiting, I now got an email that my order has been shipped... to my OLD address. I moved States! There were no updates at all for 2 months now this. I am less than happy and am sorry I did not go local and have my media in my hands! Huge mistake! Just Go Local! Who knows if I will ever see my media again.

While the company says work is processed in 6 to 8 weeks, maybe now 10 to 12 because of pandemic, labor shortages blah, blah, they keep advertising for more business. Some honesty would be refreshing.
If you can't handle the work you have now, don't keep pushing for more business. Hard to imagine that Legacy deserves even one star
Sent in 8 tapes, they converted 2 and sent the rest back saying they were blank or damaged. We viewed all of the returned tapes with no issues, bought a $90 digitizing unit and converted all the rest ourselves. Plus it took months to get them back with the only communication saying basically, "you're in the queue". Wish I had done more research before wasting the money with them. Oh, and the 2 we did get back in digital form were much worse quality than our DIY transfers!
Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
