Don't buy from Glyde
January 4, 2018

I placed an order for an IPad. A pending charge was placed on my American Express Account. I received an email from Glyde saying a shipping box had been sent to the seller. After 10 days I emailed Glyde to advise them of the situation. The following is Glyde's response.

Dec 13,8:20 AM PST

Hi Janet,

Unfortunately, I cannot find a pending Glyde for an iPad. Would you mind providing me with the last four digits of the credit card used along with your billing zip code? That would allow me to locate the account in question and address your specific concern.

Please let me know, and I will be happy to look into this further for you.

Thanks!

Julie

I sent her the requested information and have yet to hear anything from Glyde. I have also received a phone that did not work. Will never buy from them again.

Iphone purchased
December 21, 2017

Crap, I wish I would have read these reviews. Yep, same thing happened to me. Bought an Iphone 6 and two months later its dead. Won't turn on or anything. Clearly, they are taking in bad phones, getting them to work for certain amount of time, knowing the hardware is going to go bad in a few months. So sad.

I bought a phone from them. Then, two months later the phone just went berserk. I found out that this is the only company on the planet that doesnt have a customer service number. WHAT ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS! Duhh! Through an email I asked for a refund or for a replacement. They told me that they would give me a $100 voucher. What kind of crap is that. Anyway, dont make the same mistake all of us did.

Sent my phone through Glyde and it was misplaced through USPS. Glyde immediately took the "not my problem" approach and was unwavering in their terrible response times, lack of effort looking into my issue, and avoiding questions. I now have no phone, no money, and no means of recovering my device. I cannot figure out why they have a customer service department.

STAY AWAY FROM GLYDE!
October 28, 2017

I purchased a game on 10/15/17 and it still hasnt been shoipped... wrote the company. They said it would be here at end of the week. Here it is 13 days later and still not even shipped. Wrote them 3 times. They answered first email. Ignored last 2.

They are a fraudulent company who steals your credit card information and your money. I tried to delete my payment information and it will not let me. They are thieves. Beware folks.

This company has been awful. My phone was about to die so I thought I would try ordering from glyde. My mistake. It took about a week for the seller to get the box to ship it and I was fine with that. After about a week went by I checked with customer service as I saw it was sitting with the seller. After 2 weeks of waiting (so 3 weeks total from ordering) I was done. It WILL take customer service 48 hr to respond to any email you send and any after that. So you will get a response every 2 days and not including weekends as they are not in. After a month I finally bought an Iphone from apple and was here the next day. I have been trying to cancel my payment and they said they would not cancel it till the seller was known-fully informed. Well he hasen't responded to any emails and has not sent out the phone so how are they ever sure he would respond. Its already been a month! After about a week they decide to just submit the refund. They gave me back the 300~ but then I saw a charge for 204 in my bank account. This price has nothing to do with the phone price and I was never informed. I contacted customer service and they still have not responded. I checked today and saw they cancelled the 204 charge but now they have charged me the 300~ for the iphone even though they cancelled it! Its insane that it takes so long for customer service to respond and there is no phone number to call them at (at least customer service is avoiding that part of all my emails). Stay away. This is insane and the customer service is the worse part because you have to email them for everything. For refunds, for questions, ect. Stay away and save yourself the time and money.

Is there a breakdown of reviews between buyers and sellers? It seems most of the higher (4 and 5 star) reviews are from sellers whereas the lion share of poor reviews are from buyers. Moreover, and conversely, the lion share of buyers are poor reviews.

Concerning my experience with Glyde: paid for two day shipping recieved in 8 days. No refund nor offer to address a refund for services not rendered. The phone came with a charger that caused the phone's battery to discharge rather than charge. Albeit, subsequent those and a few additional problems, 9 days later, we have a working phone--so far. However, I've read the nightmares of others and am very wary. I also, when thinking of the transaction at large, have an overwhelming feeling I may well have dodeged a bullet.

Not worth it
August 1, 2017

I ordered an iphone 6, it gets here and I discover the previous owner was still logged into their icloud account. I couldn't factory reset the phone because that needs the icloud password, which I don't have. I emailed the previous owner about it and they haven't replied. Well, at least the phone was in the condition they described it as. Thanks for getting my hopes up about a new phone *facepalm*

I originally used Glyde to buy a used iPad mini and iPhone 4. I had no problems with them. Then I decided to upgrade and buy an iPhone 5. This is where the problems started. The good condition had a phone without a working headphone jack. I was offered a $20 discount, but it would cost $80 to fix, so I returned it. Hoping to get a better phone I upped the category and paid the extra for excellent condition. Guess what? The second phone I received didn't hold a charge. Boo. Good bye.

Do not buy from Glyde. I received a damaged product. They charged me return shipping and a significant restocking fee. I only got 50% back. Never buy from them again. They didn't reply to any of my emails regarding the damage. This is very unseasonable.

I ordered a certified IPhone 6s. It doesn't ship for two weeks then I get it three days after it ships. Today I get it and its in horrible condition. It said slight scratches and minimal wear. There are big deep scratches on the back, the sides, the bottom, and the top. I said okay "I can just slap a case on and it'll be fine." Then I realize the screen is popping out! Horrible quality. The prices on this website may be low but its not worth it!

I purchased tablet, paid with debit card. Transaction was cancelled and account suspeneded automatically with an email stating that they need to verify something. I emailed back, never got a response. A week later, with account suspended, they charged my card. Most horrible experience. These people should not be allowed to do business

I sold an iPhone 5c on glyde and it was a very easy process. I listed the phone, they sold it and sent me a box to mail it, and the money was in my account within a few days. Thanks!

They would really benefit from pictures. I still would have purchased this phone as the price was good, but it's not in "Excellent" condition as described due to some very noticeable dings around the side. They also should give longer than 72 hours to "accept or reject" the phone, or at least make it over business days. I just had the situation where the phone arrived late on a Friday when I had left for the weekend (after sitting at the seller's place with the shipping kit ready for 2+ weeks before actually shipping...), and now I need to accept or reject the phone after minimal usage. I am accepting and hoping for the best, but I am worried and don't currently foresee myself using Glyde for the next phone purchase.

First, let me say that the customer service is very good... when they reply. The problem is they take 2-3 days. I got a very good deal on a phone. The phone arrived after some delays (1st seller cancelled). I ran the IMEI and the phone still had a balance. I contact Glyde and they respond in 1 day saying they are going to contact the seller. Not bad, but you only have 72 hours to accept/reject. They write back the next day and claim the seller called T-Mobile and sorted everything out. I call T-Mobile and phone still has balance. I write back telling Glyde the phone still has a balance and to please put me in touch with seller or contact them again. Note, at this point I only have until the end of the day to accept/reject. Unfortunately I did not hear anything until it was too late. I had to cancel the order and initiate a return. No big deal, I've wasted a few weeks but was confident I would get my money back. I get an email from Glyde telling me to expect a return package. They are very sorry, etc. etc. That was 2 weeks ago. I emailed a few days ago, no response. I hate doing chargebacks with my CC company because I know it can really hurt small business. Not sure what choice I have at this point.

Some tips for Glyde:
1) Before the seller lists, you should run the IMEI to ensure there is no balance on phones. It takes about 30 seconds. Swappa does it and so can you.
2) When customers receive an item and need to email about a problem that needs to be sorted, give the customer more time to accept/reject. Or make those emails a priority. Or enable chat for issues like this.
3) Ding/charge the seller for dishonesty (like selling a phone that is financed). The agent told me the seller has a strong record with Glyde. BS. Sellers know when they sell bad phones. This seller knew and tried to pull a fast one thinking I wouldn't check with T-Mobile (for others reading, you must check with the cellular company the phone is locked to. Swappa and other IMEI checkers won't tell you there is a balance).

Oh, and the phone still has a balance.

Anyway, I won't use Glyde again. You shouldn't either.

No Customer support
April 17, 2017

Horrible experience. There is absolutely no customer support with Glyde. It was impossible to contact them via any other method than email, and they didn't even respond to that. Tried to buy a phone through them and after a week finally just cancelled the transaction because I couldn't get any information out of the company. Just go somewhere else and save yourself the hassle of trying to deal w/t company.

H Bill. This is Brian from Glyde's customer service team. I am so sorry to hear about the cancellation and slow response via email. We can almost always reply to you via email within 48 hours. We will look into this and make sure it does not happen again. If you can reply here with your Order Number, I can look into the details and get back to you right away via email. Thanks.

Sold I-phone 6 without problem. Glyde worked just as it said it would. Money was deposited in my account. The price offered was almost as high as highest offer with much less trouble.

Okay... but misleading.
April 14, 2017

I did... eventually... get paid. Glyde states 1-2 business days to receive payment... which means 3 business days, as they don't count the day the clock starts ticking. In a subsequent email following my complaint because I hadn't been paid in 2 business days, I was informed it could actually be 5 business days, not 2... which really means a week, since Saturday and Sunday aren't business days. I suspect the intention was to buy the bitcoins low (my requested method of payment), and then sell them to me high, with Glyde keeping the difference. Credit Card companies use to do the same thing with overseas transactions, but stopped after loosing class action lawsuits. There is no (good!) reason for a payment transfer in bitcoins to take more than a day.
