Gwynnie Bee enjoys a generally favorable reputation among customers who appreciate the variety and quality of clothing, as well as the convenience of a rental model that allows for frequent wardrobe changes without significant financial commitment. Many users highlight the positive impact on their confidence and style exploration. However, concerns about slow shipping times, limited inventory, and challenges with cancelling subscriptions have been frequently mentioned. Additionally, customers have expressed frustration over unexpected charges and a lack of responsive support during issues. Overall, while the service has its strengths, addressing operational inefficiencies could enhance customer satisfaction.

Many complaints stem from readers on this site not reading the information Gwynnie Bee gives them up front. I read it carefully and signed up for the trial. I LOVE Gwynnie Bee. The measurements on the site help me choose the appropriate size. I am currently receiving 8 items at a time because of extra bonuses and I pay 100 a month. I have a new outfit to wear EVERY day of the month and if I have a special occasion I sometimes wear two in a day. Lets say I recieve 36 items a month. On average 6 don't work for me. So I end up wearing about 30 high-end pieces from brands like City Chic, Leota, and Kiyonna a month with no need for laundry? Best service ever! I haven't had to buy any extra clothing except for leggings and a cardigan since I have started. I HIGHLY recommend Gwynnie Bee!
It is impossible to find cute, trendy, plus size clothes which don't cost upwards of $300 per garment. Even at that price, cute clothes for fat ladies just don't exist! Gwynnie Bee has some kind of magic where they find the best stuff from all the brands which offer plus sizes, as well as a few lines of their own. The house line is full of weird and wonderful prints, perfect to wear once and return!
You get to wear lots and lots of fun, stylish, pretty, high end, whatever clothing without any cleaning or committing to garments forever!
If you are expecting a rent the runway deal where you choose exactly what you get you'll be disappointed, but I don't mind the random pieces at all! It's fun to see what I get next.
Shipping is fast, and they send new stuff as soon as you mark the stuff you have at home "returned," so the turnaround is fast as well.
Their customer service is LIGHTNING fast, and incredibly helpful and pleasant! I had a dress lost in the mail and they didn't quibble at all, just apologized and removed it from my online "closet." They solve disputes quickly and are more than fair.
Really, Gwynnie Bee couldn't be more fun, or better run!
I have had nothing but BAD LUCK WITH THIS COMPANY. WHEN I FIRST SIGNED UP I THOUGHT IT WAS MORE LIKE E_BAY. WHEN I R ELISE IT WAST I EMAILED THEM AND TOLD THEM I WANTED OUT THAT I HAD MADE A MISTAKE. NO PROBLEM THEY SAID! WELL SINCE THEN THEY TOO OUT $37.62 IN September then the same in October. I had to go through PayPal to get my money back because they never answered my email s when I requested my money back. Well they did finally refund my money and turned right around and took the fee out again! They have been a thorn in my side... STAY AWAY! D. OLIVEIRA
I loved the idea, but in practice it didn't really work out for me. The selection is good, and I loved being able to try things on and just wear them a few times and swap them out with other new things. My wardrobe is pretty limited, so this service Really appealed to me. I probably wouldn't have cancelled if they let you apply part of your monthly fee towards purchases. Value for the money: this may be a perfect value for many, but as I am on a very limited budget, I needed some part of it to give - either in the monthly subscription price, or a partial credit towards purchases, or a faster turnaround - any one of these might have kept me on. I was on the 3-at-a-time plan (~$85 after taxes), and when you are new they give you a free 1 item upgrade for a few months.
To give you an estimate of what to expect, in 2 month's time with 4 out-at-a-time, I tried on 16 articles of clothing. I returned 8 without wearing them either because of fit or because they didn't look the way I expected them to and it didn't work for me (though one arrived damaged by a hanger and couldn't be worn). I purchased 4 pieces, and would have bought 2 of the remaining 4 more except for fit+price (if the price were lower I would have bought them and had them tailored).
I do think this it's a great idea, but the execution needs work to make it worth it for me. It doesn't provide enough value if you are on a tight budget (on a tight budget, turnaround is key if you can expect to only be able to wear half of what you receive). I hope they do make some tweaks to the service, as I'd like to go back to it sometime. I'm trying stitchfix next.
Everything is polyester. It is all stretchy and the fit is off on most dresses. I cancelled on the 30th day of my free trial but they charged me on day 29 and "can't issue refunds". So I can either reset up an account (where they would have to charge me again but that they can refund) or just be out the $$$. Not worth it for cheap clothes
So nice to have an unlimited closet full of stylish clothes to choose from. Since signing up for Gywnnie Bee, I can wear a new, great dress every day. It's all the benefit of having a huge closet, without the commitment or cost. Best of all, you can try a month free with this link: http://goo.gl/xVbqFP.
I use this site so often. It's a quick turn around on receiving and sending back items. I've had 2 dresses that I didn't care for. However, I've worn 15+. I usually receive compliments. While I'm trying to lose weight this is a great option to avoid spending money on clothes that I will eventually get rid of.
I was so excited to sign up for this website until I signed up and started browsing the selection and found that almost nothing cute that I liked came in my size! (24-26) this website is a joke. Its a great idea but not well executed. I will be canceling my membership tonight before even receiving any items. So disappointed!
This business is the worst! They charge you for garments that have been returned and they take days to send you out new items. They erroneously changed the email associated with my account and blamed it on me. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!
I signed up for the free trial. Waiting to see what happens next and hoping for the best.
I have had a great experience with gwynnie bee. When I first signed up 2 years ago, the shipping was slow and I didn't like the selection so I discontinued my membership. Then about 5 months ago, I rejoined and have been much happier. There is a wide selection of clothing in my size (14/16). It's been a really fun way to experiment with different styles and I get a ton of compliments on the dresses I wear. If I don't like something, I stick it right back in the bag, or just wear it once and return. The turn-around time is relatively fast so I'm not waiting around a long time. I also like their option to buy a dress you like, I have bought 6 dresses I really liked and did not want to send back. The downside is that sometimes your favorite dress online never comes or it is not available in your size. However, I've not had a problem finding many things I like. Also, if you are in the process of losing weight, it's a great way to add variety to your closet without buying an entire new wardrobe. Give it a shot!
I browsed and didn't find anything so I never added anything to my online closet. I promptly forgot about it. They didn't.
Four months later, they've charged me $85/month for absolutely nothing. I never received a damn thing. Scam.
I was excited to sign up and use this service but unfortunately I was very disappointed. I wasn't able to try the items I requested as the majority we're out of stock. The ones I did try did not look much like the pictures I never actually wore an item outside of trying it on, I then decided to cancel my service. I really wanted this to have better results but the waitbtine for all the items I wanted to wear and sometimes NEEDED to wear was just not for me. Maybe up try again after they've been up and running for awhile
I had no problem with my returns until I cancelled my membership. Suddenly they don't recei my package and are threatening to charge my account for the items that I returned when I cancelled. $92.14. Unbelievable, because I have no way of proving that they were returned. However, because of signing up for automatic payment, I cant dispute. Beware!
I tried the free month trial in the summer and thought it was a great idea that would work better for me when I returned to work in the fall. 6 wks or so after I cancelled my membership, GB offered me a 2 month discounted membership price. Its been great to have new clothes to wear without the hassle of shopping in multiple stores. I told a friend who signed up and got a referral bonus! What's not to love?
I used them last summer, found a few dresses I liked but then I canceled as I was not working... Well this morning I wake up and there is a charge from them for $898.24?!?! I have had no contact from them and received no services for over a year! I have contacted them, can't get ahold of anyone! Had to cancel my debit card, such a pain!
It just cost me $83.94 to look at their clothes -- which I did not like and did not order. They charged my credit card for "membership". When I contacted them to explain that i never intended membership and never ordered any clothes, and requested a refund, they were very responsive, until I asked if they were going to refund my money. At that point, I got the same auto generated email over and over - "We've updated your request. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions." Which I did four times and just got the same response. They basically just stole $83.94 from me. I am so not happy with this company. STAY AWAY!
Gwynnie Bee has a one month free trial period where it specifically states in their "FAQ"
Section that your credit card will NOT be charged until the trial period has ended. However, when I joined, I received an immediate alert that my credit card had indeed been charged. I called, and their argument was that they immediately reverse the transaction. Regardless of this, it is going to take you at least 48 hours to see those funds back on your card again, as I spoke with my credit card company to confirm. This is false advertising in my book. They are aware they are doing this because when I cancelled, they wanted to know why. One of the selections on the list was "my credit card was charged". Are you kidding me?
I used a measuring tape and the sizing charts available for each dress I ordered but everything was wayyy too big! I had to send everything back immediately because it fit like a tent!
Answer: You have to re-add them, but there is a "history" section that keeps track of your items so they are easier to find.
Answer: The clothes are cleaned and then sent out to the next person who requested that item in that size. After a period of time (not sure how long) the clothes are put into their for sale section of the site. I've purchased several items after wearing them at incredible savings.
Answer: They are used but have been laundered - you have no need to do that unless you wish to do so. Also they are usually in excellent shape. If you ever receive anything that isn't, make sure you let them know so they can pull it from their inventory.
Answer: Hi Tara - Everyone experiences the service differently. I think the best thing is to judge for yourself. We offer a 30 day free trial, which allows you to do just that. Before joining you can check out our FAQs & browse the collection. If you have any questions, please contact us at gwynnie@gwynniebee.com or 855-GWYNNIE
Answer: It means they will upgrade your items by 1 for the life of your plan. If you sign up for 5 items, and stay with 5 items, you will get 1 free upgrade meaning you will get 6 items. If you change your plan later however, that free upgrade could go away. SandieB
Answer: Hello Susan, Thanks for your interest in our service. Yes, our's is a garment rental service, with the most popular plan of (2 garments out at a time), priced at $68 + taxes per 30-day billing cycle. Those on the 2-item plan usually receive 6-8 garments per month depending on how fast they return them. Speaking of which, you may keep the garments with you as long as you need, before returning them in exchange for another garment/s. When you're ready to receive another garment - we have a "Return Notification" feature where you can give us a heads-up that items are on their way back to us and we can start processing your next package. Our average turnaround time is 4-7 days depending on if you use our return notification feature & where you live. The return notification feature lets you tell us when you're returning an item, so we do not wait to physically receive it & can start processing your replacement within an hour of clicking. Importantly, should you like to purchase any garment you receive as part of your rental shipment you can do so easily, and that too, at generously discounted prices. I hope this helps. Best, Gwynnie
Answer: Good evening Missy, Thanks for your question. While we do have a curated collection of items for members under 5'3, at the moment we do not carry a size 16P. We are sorry for the inconvenience. However, please check our collection from time to time, for garments which you may find suitable in your style and also, in your size :). Please feel free to write for any questions at gwynnie@gwynniebee.com. Our very best, Gwynnie.
Answer: Suzanne, Items process in 2-3 days and then ship via USPS Priority Mail. Those on the 3-item plan usually receive 9-12 garments per month depending on how fast they return them. We'd love for you to try the 30-day free trial to see how many garments you can get for yourself! Our average turnaround time is 4-7 days depending on if you use our return notification feature & where you live. The return notification feature lets you tell us when you're returning an item, so we do not wait to physically receive it & can start processing your replacement within an hour of clicking.
