The company's reputation is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with gift cards that arrive with zero balances and a lack of effective customer support. Many customers report difficulties in reaching the company, citing unresponsive email communication and nonexistent phone support. While a few positive experiences exist, they are overshadowed by consistent complaints regarding service delays, unfulfilled orders, and perceived fraudulent practices. Overall, the sentiment indicates a widespread lack of trust and reliability, suggesting that potential customers should exercise caution when considering this service.

I submitted my 3 gift cards and was suppose to receive a $49.29 Amazon Credit. Received 1 email saying Thanks for using Cardpool and I will receive Amazon gift card email within 1 business day and have heard no replies back to any follow up emails or numerous phone calls. I wish i wouldve seen these reviews before i used them. I think i might try the Better Business Bureau to see if that spurs them on to assist.
Submitted an Apple Gift Card in exchange for Amazon and never received anything. Go check the Apple Gift Card balance and its 0. It was used in California...
Since April 25,2019, they have not sent me a check for my two gift cards. They refuse to answer emails and phone calls. Stay away from this company.
I wish I could give no stars. Seriously before selling cards to companies look up reviews. I regret not doing my research. I recently sold my Target giftcard to Cardpool for an Amazon card and I received nothing. I have constantly called them only to keep getting an automated message. I have learned my lesson. I will give a gift card away or just keep it.
Complete rip off. Seems legit, you type in your card number, they supposedly place funds on Amazon. It's the most important part, the placing funds part that didn't happen. Weeks later I'm left calling and emailing. Calls are hung up on with the message the call volume is too high and emails are not responded to. Now I have to waste time following up on this to get the money. Not fun, not something I'd do again. At this point, I think I'd rather just have the card instead of the aggravation of getting ripped off.
I've skimmed some of the other reviews and understand that Cardpool is going through a change of ownership or just closed up shop.
That being said, I'm extremely annoyed by my experience with them. I had a $300 gift card and decided to sell it directly to the website instead of listing it because I could get paid faster. I did that 03/29/19; it is now 05/09/19! I've emailed them once after a week and a second time sometime after that because I wanted to know when the verification process would end. I only got auto-emails telling me that they would contact me in the next few business days. It's been a month and still no response!
The good thing is, the $300 is still on the card but I lost out on selling it to other people because I believed that Cardpool was in the process of verifying the gift card, but that turned out to be bunk.
If you're going through changes or even closing up shop, don't you think it's common courtesy to not only make an announcement but to inform your users? Unprofessional. It's not a bad experience because I still have the gift card and the money on it but it is honestly really annoying having to wait this long without any acknowledgement, warning, or even a simple response. I'm fine with selling my gift card to someone else or another company but at least let me know beforehand so I don't waste my time and miss out on an opportunity on selling my $#*!.
I used to have such great experiences with this company - rarely an issue - until my last purchase... From what I'm hearing Cardpool either closed up shop or transferred ownership.
I was out $409.50 and had to have my cc company go after them.
Their formerly great customer service just literally disappeared - all you get now is auto responses
I purchased a $100 Chili's card only to be embarrassed when the server tells me that the card was declined because the account was closed. Tried to call customer service, left a message multiple times, no call back. Let's just say never again!
After selling CardPool my unwanted Zara Gift card, I received an email letting me know that the transaction was successful and that it may take up to 3 days for the promised Amazon Gift Card to be received via email. After day 3, I sent an email. Then I sent another email on day 4. And another on business day number 5. NOTHING. NO RESPONSE. NO CONCERN. NO EXISTING CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. My Zara Gift Card was taken by CardPool and nothing was given in return. THAT'S THEFT. I will be reporting them to the BBB.
First, I submitted my gift card ($400.00 Apple store) and then after reading the reviews, I immediately canceled. I sent an email to the company to ask why are customers having such a bad experience. I had an immediate response advising the company was recently sold and the new owners are trying to clean up "a mess". So after a few back and forth correspondences, I decided to give them a chance, knowing this could end up in a nightmare situation. However, the complete opposite. I submitted my gift card and within 7 weeks received a check in the mail. Thanks Ryan for the great experience and we will definitely be back!
Sold me a card that didn't work. Wouldn't refund money. I had to go through my credit card and deny the charges just to get my money back. After three weeks customer service responds: Oh, sorry. That's all. Dud company.
Should have looked at all the reviews before letting them charge $25 on my credit card for a gift card I have not received after waiting 15 days so far and sending them a note. Now I am afraid that if I do receive this card, that it has no money on it...
Will write a note to the attorney general of California. Someone has to put them out of business!
I had 200 dollars in amazon gift cards I wanted to sell at a kiosk. The apparently bought all the Coinstar Exchange machines which did buy amazon gift cards. But since they stole all those machine they don't except them they should be put in jail.
I was preparing to sell a Best Buy card to these guys - to the company, not to a customer. I was very concerned that I was unable to get questions answered. Tried several phone calls. Never got to a person when I called and never got a return phone call. Tried several emails. Never got a response from a person. I'm EXTREMELY happy that I found all these negative reviews. I would have been REALLY displeased if I'd gone through with the sale. MAJOR thanks to all of you who made clear - without doubt - that this company is a scam, a fraud, a total disaster.
Dont sell your card. They dont pay. This company is a total scam. Worst experience i have ever had in my life. What a nightmare
If I could rate 0... I would. A friend told me about cardpool so I was excited to buy my first two giftcards to buy items remaining on my baby registries. After 3 days of not receiving my email giftcard orders, I emailed the support team. I received a response that their risk team had decided not to honor the sale and that I'd get a refund. No reason or anything. I was appalled. So now I can't buy giftcards fRon them? It makes no sense. Gave them all my contact details and valid payment. Unbelievable. Worst service ever!
I have written time and again since I lost 41.45 on a Cracker Barrel gift card I purchased from them. They will not respond at all! I hate this company and will not order from them again!
**** UPDATE: After a response finally received on Cardpool's Facebook page, they have provided me with links to view/print my cards. One had a zero balance on it, but they did refund my credit card for the amount I paid them. I believe they are trying to make things right and am so thankful for this.
I purchased $420.25 in Lowe's gift cards from them on 12/15/2018. They show these were shipped on my account, but I never received any of the 4 cards purchased. They will not answer emails or phone calls and did not respond to 2 BBB attempts to resolve my complaint. They seem to have no problem stealing people's hard-earned money, and this is not a company you want to deal with.
I urge everyone ripped off by them to file a complaint with your state's attorney general, the BBB, FBI, Federal Trade Commission, Ripoffreport.com, etc. This company needs to be shut down and a class action suit taken against them. Just discovered their FB page today indicating the company was sold in January 2019.
It's been over a month and I haven't got even a response. I have emailed about 10 times and called over a hundred. I didn't even sell in the marketplace, I took the instant(HAHA!) Amazon card offer that was to be delivered in 24-48 hours at the latest.
The cards are empty! They never answer the phone! Try calling customer service before you buy a card
Answer: They cheated me out of 75 dollars in gift cards they need to pay up
Answer: DON'T DO IT! You're just rolling the dice with this company, if there is a problem, you ave no recourse.
Answer: Hi Justin I would not use there service they scammed me out of a 400 Home Depot gift card then the block your account ignore emails and leave you with nothing I hope you look to another service it will save you headaches
