I was trying to buy a gift card to bass pro shop for my husband's birthday. I provided all the information requested, including phone number verification and using a credit card in my name with all of my billing info that can easily be confirmed with Chase bank. They emailed asking me to use a third party site to upload my passport, SSN or ID and a phone of my face. Absolutely not! I'm not sending a photo of my personal documents to a third party site to buy a dang gift card.
I use Cardcookie regularly and appreciate the fact that they often have sales. There are rare times where I've run into issues but they ALWAYS resolve them within 24 hours - often in 1-2hrs. The cards are digital and are loadable to a store's app if you prefer to use them that way. I have been buying cards from Carcookie for over 5 years and highly recommend!
I have been using CC for a number of years, buying lots of cards. I have never had a problem until today with some compromised cards. I contacted customer service & the problem was resolved quickly with minimal effort on my part. I definitely will continue to use CC.
Bought a few Best Buy gift cards and received them less than 24 hours later as promised! Wish they sent same day but if waiting 24 hours means saving money I'm okay with that. Just plan ahead! Will definitely use again!
Up to now, CardCookie has provided excellent customer service. Then, today, I got an email stating, "Since we couldn't verify some of your payment information, we need to verify your identity before sending you the gift cards." (All this after I saw a pending CardCookie charge on my MasterCard.) So after going through the STRIPE verification process (where I took photos of my face and driver's license), I got an email stating, "...after carefully reviewing the documentation you provided, we have decided that it is not sufficient to verify your account." So, I sent several emails asking if I could be re-verified, since my hair was still wet from taking a shower, and I was wearing contacts--vs. Glasses as in my driver's license photo. It's been over 45 minutes and I've received no reply. All this after successfully getting CardCookie gift cards for years. Extremely frustrating!
I bought several cards on multiple occasions from this site and most were compromised or invalid upon arrival to my email address. Customer service was a joke. They questioned me as if I sent the bad cards to myself. Took a long time to get the money out back on my credit card. They will charge you the fee for the purchase immediately but drag their feet sending out the purchased items.
I have spent more than 10k dollars on gift cards from the website. I had bad experience of receiving cards with $ 0 balance several times, and they replaced my cards without problems until today when I purchased a $120 Walmart card with a $ 0 balance. By the way, I purchased the card within 100 days. They asked me for the spending history. However, I will have to add the card to my Walmart wallet to see the history. With the $ 0 balance, I can't add it to my wallet to view the history. I was told to call Walmart customer service to get the history. I was not the person who bought the card, so how could I call Walmart. If someone needs to call, it will be either the person who sold it to Cardcookies.com or anyone from the company. If it does not work out this time, I will call my credit card company to get my money bank and will not purchase a single card from them.
I ordered a gift card in May 2022, and when I went to use it in September 2022, it had a zero balance. I reached out to Card Cookie Customer Service, and because I was outside of the "100 day guarantee" they said there was nothing they could do about it. They wouldn't even credit me the actual amount I paid for the gift card. So they literally stole my money. When I told them "gift card's don't expire, so I should at least get the amount I spent" they said: "Gift cards themselves do not expire. Unfortunately, as stated on the website, we can only cover them for 100 days." and now they wont respond to any of my emails. Highly recommend using another platform other than Card Cookie.
1. Make sure you check the balance when your cards are delivered. There may be lesser amount, no amount or even invalid card.
2. Only buy when you are planning to use within 100 days of the purchase otherwise they won't even entertain your request. I have been a long time consumer and I was super disappointed obviously as i lost $150 just because i missed the 100 day window. Both the cards had the balance i checked when purchased but after the 100th day its gone and they dont even bother to check what's the issue. Pathetic as it sounds.
I received the following email after I placed my order:
"we couldn't verify some of your payment information, we need to verify your identity before sending you the gift cards"
Be aware: they will likely require you to submit to identity verification including sending your selfie with photo ID which is facilitated by a company called Stripe.
I read Stripe's privacy policy and they share with CardCookie the personal data you submit and retain it on Stripe's servers for up to 3 years. Photos are saved for 1 year. Personal details including DOB and SSN are saved for 3 years. Stripe by default also uses your biometric data as part of building and training their software.
And I honestly have no idea how long CardCookie retains your info for. They don't have an address or phone number so it could very well be forever.
Additionally, your only payment option is to submit your credit card info to them directly. They do not accept Paypal or Google Pay to mask your credit card details from them.
I felt this was too privacy invasive just to save a few dollars and cancelled my order, which, to CardCookie's credit they did so promptly.
Submitting what this unknown faceless company requests of you including photo ID, a current selfie, DOB/SSN info, etc is an incredible security and privacy risk. Especially in an industry that is so often involved with fraud.
I'm sorry but it just wasn't worth it to me putting myself at risk for identity theft for years to save a couple bucks.
Avoid! I bought lowes gift cards from them in Good faith and I got bad cards in return. 7 cards didn't work. They said there was nothing they can do since my purchase was over 100 days ago. Clearly they are selling fraudulent cards or have such little security that makes buying from card cookie a complete rip off. I hope they feel good about themselves for suckering someone out of $350. Don't waste your money. Scam artists!
Avoid - they list lots and lots of bogus cards. I just got one and they refused to replace it. Think about how much you lose if you get just 1 bogus card vs the tiny amount you save my buying a card at a discount from them. After the experience I just had with them and the way they responded when I reported that they sold be a card that was literally fake (something they could have verified btw prior to listing it) they can't be trusted. They are supporting scammers.
That's what I like most about Card Cookie - they stand behind what they sell. I have occasionally had a problem about something I bought and they always correct the problem immediately! I love their customer service.
I had the pleasure of having Sarah assist me with replacement cards because original owner never released it from his platform resulting me to never download them. Sarah went above and beyond the service with a sense of urgency and resolved my matter in minutes! I appreciate how she resolved the matter and this is the only place I shop for gift cards.
Very fast deliver with great pricing. Gift cards almost always work without any issues, but on the rare occasion where one doesn't work they have always been able to satisfactorily address the issue immediately. Plan to continue purchasing gift cards from CardCookie.com for the foreseeable future.
I have bought a lot of Gift Cards from Card cookie
Pros
Great discount
Cards do have the said balance most of the times
Cons
Very slow and unresponsive
Takes for ever to validate and doesnot deliver gift card even for days
Customer care is not responsive and doesnot have solutions.
Blocks accounts without a reason
I don't know if this company is legit or not. I placed an order of 10 cards valued at $10 each. They canceled my order saying that there was something wrong with one of the cards. What about the other 9.
Then I placed another order of 5 cards valued at $20 each. Immediately canceled saying they couldn't verify my credit card.
So I went one more time and placed 5 cards valued at $20 again. Immediately canceled saying they couldn't verify my card. I even keyed in another card.
There's nothing wrong with my cards, so why is it so hard to place an order.
I even uploaded a photo of my drivers license and my face, which they said they need for verification. Now I'm a little concerned that they have that information.
They did require ID verification from me, but that went smoothly and the next day my cards were sent. And they worked.
Whenever I buy gift cards and there is a problem they are quick to respond and resolve. Highly responsible and I appreciate that!
I was a bit nervous about ordering gift cards online but I have never been disappointed by Card Cookie. I have placed 3 orders and am a very happy customer.
Saving up to 10% off Apple gift cards is awesome. There was one time that one of the gift cards didn't work and customer service fixed the problem super fast. I will definitely order again.
Answer: OMG what a hassle. & seriously stay away from this nonsense. This is a scam. Complete & Utter Nonsense. Following is what happened: Wanted to send a Giftcard tosister. Went and paid. Got a nonsensical email, I mean NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE Sent a link to me under the false pretense that they need to verify more and to follow the link. The link says to enter codes... Talked to my bank, told them that they were asking for codes, Bank asked me "what codes". Then exchanged emails with someone by the name Sarah (Somone pretending to be Sarah) OMG this is like Total ConGame This is a ConGame Please don't use this. I didn't realize most of the positive reviews were either implanted.or purchased Bogus Bogus Bogus.
Answer: Yes I can. Can you? What is stopping you - go ahead and build it.
Answer: It happened to me more than once with these guys. Ther quality control sometimes lacks. Well, this is the cost of doing business with them, about 50% of the time you actually get what they promise card-value-wise. Keep trying! It s like playing lottery - exciting!
Answer: Probably never, but it is a 50/50 chance, so keep on trying.
Answer: Send an eMail and they respond within minutes or at the start of the next business day.
