I ordered a gift card online, they processed my debit card, then want more information like my drivers license to verify my debit card. I place online orders all of the time with this card, and have never been questioned like this. Don't use this company, not worth the discount.
Card values are never what they're sold as. They're off by 20% or so. Bought 3 cards and all were deficient in value. Contacted support and they blamed it on Starbucks. Never resolved.
First and last time! Purchased four $25 Starbucks gift cards. First card entered was $19.29, then $19.72, $19.66 and $19.76. Looks like they really wanted everyone's money. Will file complaint with my credit card company to hopefully get any kind of refund.
Not sure if they are just collecting CC info to sell or what but they always have "system processing dept is down, had to cancel blah blah blah" excuse 24 hrs after submitting payment. AVOID. Filing a complaint with the BB and I suggest others do the same else this will keep going.
You can make numerous transactions with no problem, then suddenly they'll block your card, even though there's never been an issue to be a reason to block you out.
They apparently don't want long time, repeat customers, but rely on only new buyers.
If that's what they want, then so be it. Same typical issue with all these businesses like this. No communication. They cancel without communicating why or what the problem is so it can be resolved. Assuming there even is one in the first place. Or their websites are glitchy garbage. I can point out a recurring theme with all of them & it's you getting charged on one screen, before the purchase is approved on their site. Often sticking you with the charge at your bank or card for sometimes 5-12 days, for it to fall off.
You ought've decided if you will sell the card, before the person is charged & if their payment goes through, then it should not be canceled immediately at this point when they'ved paid. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTING. I was actually interested in increasing my purchases, BEFORE they suddenly decided to give me crap checking out "OUT OF THE BLUE!"
OMG what a hassle. & seriously stay away from this nonsense. This is a scam. Complete & Utter Nonsense.
Following is what happened:
Wanted to send a Giftcard tosister.
Went and paid. Got a nonsensical email, I mean NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE NONSENSE
Sent a link to me under the false pretense that they need to verify more and to follow the link. The link says to enter codes... Talked to my bank, told them that they were asking for codes, Bank asked me "what codes". Then exchanged emails with someone by the name Sarah (Somone pretending to be Sarah) OMG this is like Total ConGame
This is a ConGame Please don't use this. I didn't realize most of the positive reviews were either implanted.or purchased
Bogus Bogus Bogus.
At first card cookie was a great source for gift cards. But then I started to see the same suspicious behavior that I see in the other reviews. The keep cancelling orders, asking for more information, I reply with it and nothing. Tthey asked me to open a new account, I did and again nothing. I think they are getting our information to sell. I finally told them I spoke to an attorney about this, they cancelled the $ withdrawal from my cc and so I didn't lose those funds. But I am uneasy about the information they have.
On two different occasions I've tried to buy a gift card ($20). And on each one, I verified my name, address, CC #, and the code sent to my cell phone. Each time they say they couldn't verify me + my order is cancelled. Of course it is -- you have alllllll my personal data now but all I get is excuses + errors when I contact them by email. I'm worried about fake charges on my CC now. NOT WORTH the small discount they 'supposedly' sell gift cards for.
Cardcookie phone contact number for Amer Exprss charges is for an attorney. Will, no doubt, take me a while for Amer Express to resolve. You be the judge, as for me, THIS IS A FRAUDULAENT COMPANY and I would advise everyone to stay clear!
I dont know why theres so much hate about this site i sold my gift cards and was paid with no issues maybe people should use real banks and real gift cards bought by them.
The access to your credit cards will BE a BIG mistake fraud site that you may get charges that you didn't auth
Hi. The only thing I can say as a first time attempted user is I question if this site is fraudulent. Terrible Customer Service and the fact that they were requesting information that I would not provide -- like my credit card approval code, after "verifying" myself via text AND email.
Please spread the word. Not worth it and I have doubts whether the site is even safe!
I am a repeat customer (several purchases) and should be able to return to make a quick purchase, right? That's the norm with online shopping/purchases.
CardCookie.com login and purchase process is a hot mess. It is riddled with repeated CAPTCHA AND/OR error messages AND/OR unresponsiveness. It's like being a hamster on a wheel. Be prepared to receive numerous conflicting error messages and ultimately locked out of their site with a message that makes no sense. Customer Service is only available by email, very slow to respond and unapologetic for the site shortcomings. My spidey sense is telling me something is very wrong with this company, especially since I read the reviews not on CardCookie.com. Per the reviews, CardCookie.com is/has been aware of the plethora of site/purchase issues but choosing/chosen not to resolve or acknowledge. I sense CardCookie.com may have ulterior motives while the high discount on gift cards is the lure.
Worst online buying experience ever! I wish I had read some of the reviews here first. Bought over $200 for $#*!s Sporting Goods. It seemed like such a great deal, saving 15%. Waited for a few hours, then got an email they needed further verification. I sent the code they requested from my bank account and they said my cards would be sent. Waited a few hours and didn't receive them. E-mailed the company and they said I didn't verify my purchase, so I did it again. They assured me the cards were on the way. After a few more hours, I realized they were not coming and cancelled the order. Now I am very concerned because the charge is showing up on my credit card and their website is down for maintenance (it is Sunday) so there's nothing I can do about it right now. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND HASSLE FOR NOTHING!
I've used CardCookie for almost a year now, exclusively for Starbucks gift cards for myself since I typically just pay full price for Starbucks. I can usually find 9-15% discounts on Starbucks cards through this site, which is better than the competitors and, up until last week, faster to deliver.
I just reviewed my Order History, and all of my orders (18 of them) up until last week were fulfilled instantly. Last week I bought a card and it didn't come through for 30 minutes, so I ended up reloading my Starbucks app with my bank account instead. Completely defeated the purpose of buying the gift card, but I let it slide. Today, however, I'm experiencing an even worse delay... I placed my order over an hour ago and I still haven't received the code for the card.
Competitor websites can deliver electronically in 5 minutes or less. For that reason alone, I'm willing to pay the extra 2% and ditch CardCookie.
Get it together guys, you clearly have the funds to make this happen and customer service is obviously not your priority anymore. Bad news spreads fast, but I guess you'll learn that, eventually.
I have been using CardCookie for a couple years. They have exceptional customer service. The couple problem I ever had were immediately take care of. Whether it was another card or refund. I don't know what other were talking about in their reviews but I have never been asked for anything except payment and verifying my email.
Purchased 2 egift cards from them today, received both in under 10 mins. Both cards are legit with the advertised value.
The site has a lot of issues though, cannot remove items from the cart, cannot log out, etc. Not a smooth experience with the website, but the cards are good value.
Card was provided at a significant (but realizable) discount & shipped instantly (after a payment verification step conducted through electronic mail).
Yes, this is one of the scam gift card websites. They will take all your information, including your credit card information, confirm you order, then cancel your order and request verification of identity, even though your credit card, email and address you provided all matched. No other legitimate gift card website does this. Do not send your personal information. SCAM

Answer: Yes I can. Can you? What is stopping you - go ahead and build it.
Answer: It happened to me more than once with these guys. Ther quality control sometimes lacks. Well, this is the cost of doing business with them, about 50% of the time you actually get what they promise card-value-wise. Keep trying! It s like playing lottery - exciting!
Answer: Probably never, but it is a 50/50 chance, so keep on trying.
Answer: Send an eMail and they respond within minutes or at the start of the next business day.
