The company has garnered mixed feedback from customers, with comfort and design of the shoes often praised. However, a significant number of reviews highlight concerns regarding product durability, with many customers reporting premature wear and inadequate quality for the price. Customer service experiences are frequently criticized, particularly in relation to handling returns and addressing product issues, leading to feelings of frustration and dissatisfaction. Overall, while the brand has a strong appeal due to comfort and style, persistent quality and service issues may deter potential buyers.

Wore Tree runner for two weeks on a vacation, the toe area broke through around 4-5 days, and had to throw them away. Waste of money!. Emailed Allbirds customer service, pretty much blaming me for getting the wrong size ( I obviously know my own shoe size) and walking too much in humidity. Didn't offer anything, not even a coupon code for next purchase. Never again!
The shoes don't wear well, particularly in the toe area…I've worn my toe through on several pairs. Now, I know not to wear them for any distance walking or running. I've been wearing shoes for decades, and literally no other brand of shoes I've owned and worn have my toes popped through the material! I recently purchased a pair of underwear. Their fit was nothing like the photo, even after sizing down, the leg holes were too large, enough to make them unwearable. I then tried to leave a review on their website, but only "randomly" selected customers can leave reviews! What kind of company operates this way?!
I bought my first pair of these about two years ago and after wearing them about ten times they developed a hole where my left big toe would be. I contacted the company with pictures and they agreed to replace them with the exact same shoes. After wearing them about 5 times they developed the exact same hole in the exact same place. By the way, long toe nails are not the issue.
There is a reason why AllBirds is in such trouble. I purchased two pairs a few years ago. Within months and with. Minimal light wear the first layer of wool in the shoe disintegrated on the inside and a hole was imminent on both pair. I wrote AB months later when I found the shoes in my closet and was annoyed and they told me it was too late for a refund, return or troubleshooting...despite the fact this was an issue with their product I have a lot of causal and athletic shoes ranging from Nikes, Clarks, Merrells and Converse and never had them fall apart so quickly. Recently (four years later) I pulled out the shoes and wear them for taking the trash out, running to the curb etc. And I got angrier and angrier that these $100 shoes fell apart so quickly. I'd even joined the AB consumer panel b/c I'd hoped to help them improve and I was rooting for an eco company despite getting screwed by them. A colleague noticed my new looking shoes with holes and told he'd had the same problem.I did a google search and wow-these are bad products...the internet overflows with stories about wool and tree runners in the last years and how terrible the company is So I decided to write them again. The rep asked me for a LOT of information including photos. I did all of this. I then got a long note back saying they couldn't do anything because of the time that had passed, that the shoes wear differently for different people. And they had the nerve to say that some AB employees buy new shoes every few months as if this was a solution available to most people. I was really taken aback. This was an utter "Let them eat cake" moment and exactly what you would expect from a company that is so out of touch as AB...I believe companies should stand behind their products and if something is defective and falling apart within a year with very light wear at such a high price point, and its happening to a customer who is clearly taking the time to lay out full details, is rooting for you and sharing loads of customer data the company should fix it. A $100+ pair of shoes should last more than a year. When I responded that a manager would be good they said they'd take the feedback and hope that next time around they could help. Well, there's not going to be a next time. I will never buy a pair and I will make sure I share my experience far and wide. At some point you need to listen to your customers. This is an awful company with an awful product. Just do a google search.
For a few years now I have been wearing Allbirds wool- and tree runners. Their service in store or online is excellent. The products are of an excellent quality and there is a feeling that they really care about the environment. I love the materials they use especially New Zealand wool. Exceptionally comfortable footwear.
Bottom part is not cleaned well even with the washmachine and bottom is getting ruined easily because of the material. Pictures after washed!
I bought this shoes around 6 month ago in the 5th ave NYC store, wear them very seldom for the evening walk and have problem with the sole. Contacted customer service last week for help, they asked to send them pictures and after told me "Thanks for the information" but no help.

Wore these all birds a little over two weeks and the soles started to unbond. Used duct tape to get by while on a trip. No apparent support for obvious quality issues
I've ordered two pairs of the Kids Smallbirds Wool Runners for my son. The first one, the laces started falling apart and the top of one of the shoes (above the big toe) started developing a hole. I figured it was a one-off and ordered a new pair when it was time to size up. My son has been wearing the new pair for less than 3 months, and now both shoes are falling apart again (laces are shredding, holes above both big toes). My son is not a typical adventurous boy, so these shoes are receiving light wear and they are absolutely falling apart. Do Not Recommend.
**Also, I have ordered other (adult) products from them in the past, and always received an email with the opportunity to review the product. For both of these purchases for the Kids shoes, I was never sent an email/given an opportunity to review the Kids product(s). Shady, like they know they're not good quality.
I have 2 pairs of underwear from Allbirds. At first they are extremely comfortable. I will give them that, however the underwear only last a few months while only wearing the underwear once every other week or so and washing them on delicate. I wont be purchasing them any longer or asking anyone to purchase them for me for a gift. When customer service was contacted, they said they would give me a 10% off coupon towards another pair. I said so i get 10% off a $24 dollar pair of underwear that wont last a year and you wont replace them? She said thats all they could do. Dont waste your time and if you do, good luck.
I ordered a pair of Tree Runners and when I opened the box, was shocked to see a pair of worn and used pair! Extremely disappointed such thing ever happened!
For the first time in my life, I buy shoes on line and it's the perfect fit and 100% comfortable even without socks on.
I pulled out of the box and my 6 year old son said: mum, they are sick! To mean, they are very cool!
I hope they really last longer.
Looks like I found a place to buy shoes from!
Purchased clothes for gift for family members. They would not let us exchange Christmas gifts purchased just before Thanksgiving that still had tags on them. I was a loyal customer that spent thousands from these criminals. Just wanted to exchange products they still have on their web site with brand new products that were never worn.
Purchased ALL Bird Men's Wool Runner Mizzles on sale.
The shoe laces are only 42 inch long, correct size is 48min long
Tried to return back but was told the following via e mail.
""we're sorry to hear about those laces! Because these shoes were a part of a special discounted program and final sale, we, unfortunately, aren't able to provide a return or an exchange due to limited supply. We hope you understand. We hope to have a better solution in the future and are always looking to add to our product selections. If you're at all interested, there are some single laces sold on Etsy. We're big fans of supporting small businesses!
When I placed the order, it did not say final sale or non returnable.
Since All Bird has expanded there customer service has been reduced to "CUSTOMER BE AWARE'
I recently purchased an Allbirds Merino Wool Jumper. According to the care tag, it said to hand wash cold, DO NOT DRY CLEAN. Following those instructions, I hand washed the sweater and let it air dry. This shrunk the sweater to an unwearable size. When I contacted customer service, they informed me that they knew this was a quality control issue and that an entire batch of sweaters was incorrect, and the tag should have read: Dry Clean Only. However, because this was purchased through a third-party retailer, there is nothing they can do about this issue. I am out $140 due to a mistake on the company's part. The best they could offer was a $15 off coupon to order something else through their website. As they continue to expand their third-party sellers – buyers beware that they will not back the quality of their products through them.
So I have been wearing allbird wool sneakers for one year. Honestly, the shoe is fine. Not great, not awful. BUT, beware that the back of the shoe piles after wearing because it's made of wool-like material. Meaning that the backing gets bumpy and rough. This issue resulted in several blisters on my heal, which sucked. I now have to wear thicker socks to protect my heal.
Bought Allbirds breezers in March 2020, so used them really for only over 2 summers; short trips to school, shops etc. They have frayed where the toes touch them. I would have expected these sustainable shoes to be more durable especially at the price they are sold as and the 'green' ethos. Sadly not the case. Maybe there's an argument of buying pumps that are not made from natural materials and last for 'years' for e. G a pair of Clarks shoes that I had for more than 10 years!
When I contacted customer services, they replied;' Typically, we've seen that this is caused by wear and tear so we are not able to open up the window for a return or exchange'
And I didn't expect a return or exchange but whether they could repair them.
Usually all the reviews of products are sought as soon as the purchase is made, so the short natural period of wear and tear is not noted.
They pretended as though they tried to contact me after I left a review on trust pilot. Poor customer care!
They are comfy, sure, but i wore them a few times and got some dirt on them. It won't wash off because it settled into the fibers and now they look $#*!ty, so i cant wear them anymore, unless i want to look like im wearing some scuzzy shoes.
If i wanted some shoes i was gonna wear twice, i wouldnt have spent $100 on them. I am disappointed. Do not buy these
Bought mens casual sneakers July 2021. Six months from purchase holes started to appear in both toes. Wore them for several more months, then took them back to nearby store. Customer rep said I was one month beyond warranty period, would barely talk to me. Will never buy Allbirds again.
While I love all of my Allbirds, my recent experience with customer service was very disappointing. My trailrunners upper section by the toes wore out very quickly and when I inquired about it, I was told it was within normal wear and tear. I change shoes out frequently so am well aware of what's normal. I believe the weave was defective but I was not even offered a discount on a new pair of shoes.
Answer: Mine have not held up well. Had six pairs and am down to two pairs in less than a year. And the only reason these have not fallen apart is because I don't wear them that often since they are special colors. They are not worth $95.00. I had the tree runners and the wool runners, and they all did the same thing. My toes wore a hole in them. Very disappointed. I really wanted to love these shoes.
Answer: No! At least not for me. I was getting very sore feet (pain lasting days) after just puttering around my small retirement apartment, spending most of my waking hours sitting down.
Answer: It's hassle but they take returns, you'll be fine.
Answer: Yes, buy another brand, they're compete idiotic for not having half sizes. Neither one size up or size down fit me well enough to keep them, which makes sense since I'm a half size!
Answer: I got a hole in my first pair and they replaced them - there is already a hole in the second pair and they were very clear that they would not replace them again. It has only been a couple of months.
The world's most comfortable shoes, made naturally --- Using materials like merino wool and eucalyptus tree fiber, Allbirds has created the comfiest shoes on the planet.
