I've never heard of this website yet in one day i have had 3 transactions go through my bank account each of $59.98 so total of $179.94... luckily it hasn't overdrawn me yet but this needs to stop! Sorry for anyone who actually has used this website but i don't like this company!
I purchased a jackbox party pack on steam and found out that the game can't run on my Mac's current version. Steam's website says they would gladly refund a customer if the games are unsupported. Well... good luck trying to even find an email address or phone number to request a refund. The instructions they offer for a refund on their website leads you to a wild chase, ending in nothing. Terrible customer service. Never buying another game from Steam, even when I do update my computer. Just counting my losses and moving on to a platform that has more integrity.
If it weren't for the poor customer service experience, Steam would be worth a 3-4 star rating. With a few exceptions their launcher and library management structure works quite well for the most part. Their payment processing and account management system though is probably worth a zero to one star rating. Case in point: My account was recently locked for 4 weeks (just in time to miss the summer sale) due to a $2.50 payment for some discounted DLC that didn't go through. This, according to my bank was due to the recipient (i. E. Steam) not taking receipt of the payment. The deduction for the amount was duly made to my credit card account by my bank, but the items I purchased nevertheless promptly removed by Steam from my Steam library. This whole process took less than 3 days. I sent them a bank authorization number in the meantime which probably now is moot due to the fact that they've already cancelled the transaction. Steam will be seeing much less of me in the future no doubt.
Their downloads are unreliable and they won't give you a refund if it doesn't work. I downloaded Final Fantasy remastered. It worked well for two play throughs and now it won't launch. Fallout New Vegas crashed from the beginning.
I use it for playing games but never purchase a game from it. It is also offering free games and not too bad.
Very customer friendly, you can get a refund pretty easily here. Sometimes it's hard to log in - you have to enter the steam guard each time and the code changes every 30 seconds or so - not good for slow typers...
I have used Steam as one of my favorite games retailers for over 5 years and have always been satisfied. The have a wide variety of computer and console games. The often have sales where products are available at extremely reduced prices. It's a good place to find other gamers for multi-player games.
Bought two games through Gamestop, didn't know i had to use steam to play them. I can't get either games to play. I've tried contacting both companies for support with no luck whatsoever. Gamestop has a number, that they won't answer. Steam doesn't have a phone number and won't allow me to send an e-mail. The capcha code will not go through. I've set up two accounts in an attempt to get in touch with this company and have received no response. I hope somebody reads this before buying a game through either company, in that maybe i can save you some undue stress and financial loss.
Seller asked for payment through steam powered cards, I purchased them and as requested sent them photos of the cards individual number, under scratchy area. Now seller has disappeared and I have no recourse. I've lost $800 through this scam.
Twice have I tried to put money in the steam wallet and both times it was a fail. It also took a long time for them to respond. They have ruined my gaming! One game I have played for about 5 years now, I cannot purchase anything on it because steam says I have only 2 cents in my account! I have tried twice with Steam only to be disappointed twice. I am not going to try again, they're crooked. I can't even find a number to call.
The game I played has changed over billing to Steam too.
Steam states DLC's are refunded under certain conditions/ I had less than 30 minutes of usage on sad DLC, and I requested a refund same day. They declined the refund. Getting a hold of them is impossible left 2 messages on *******642 and nothing.
You have to jump through hoops to buy games that the website says are compatible with your system. They are never compatible. I have tried on PC and Mac, they just don't offer games, they take your money and then that's it. Stay away. No customer service.
Steam is overcharging. You cannot open the sight without having STEAM open and when you click on the expansion pack that says it is 19.99 steam charges you the full price of 39.99.
Rippin us off every month... we dont have the best financial in our card and they automatically take $30 totaled from 10 here and there... You put poor people to negative accounts because you are a SCAM!
I purchased an online game from them that i couldn't launch after downloading.
I submitted 3 tickets on it and got "no reponse!" I'm not even sure if I completed the customer service request correctly because their site is so vague about how to go about doing it. They obviously don't give a damn about their customers. Typical for anything you buy online: after they have your money, if anything goes wrong you're screwed! Do not but anything from this site unless you fell good about being screwed out of your money! Instead, find a company that cares about it's reputation and drop your dimes on them! The funny part is: after no email response to my problem, I am still getting their advertisements for their products!
The games you buy on this site you can download on any compatible computer you own, since the games you have purchased remain in your library. The games are good value, and go on sale frequently-I once purchased the entire Half-Life franchise for $10 dollars! Refunds are an issue though-if you have owned a played a game for over 3 hours you can't refund it. There are some really good games on here!
Love steam. Its simple and easy to use. Always have my games ready to download to a new machine. My saved games are always backed up. And they have often, some good sales / discounts. And how they recently added download servers in my city, makes my downloads even faster.
Be careful of this site! So many extra charges that come in... I have fought this so many times over the last month, even though my son likes it... There are sooo many charges that keep getting put on my credit card which i never authorized.
They sell games that they don't deliver. No customer support response. Scam! Was sold a steam game account but was blocked by an authenticator and received no help.
If you use Steam and you have no problems. Good.
But if you run across a problem... like trying to get a refund... now you get to see the REAL Steam.
Bots will tell you that your request is declined. No humans to talk to, no humans to challenge the decision.
They got your money.
If you want help, go to the Steam community and try another user, because Steam couldn't be bothered.
Answer: There's a higher volume of users that want help from Steam Support, however, they'll often try to answer most of the questions that is coming in a daily basis. Steam doesn't have enough staff members to check on the endless questions coming in so you question is most likely on queue. For the other question are you using the same account from the old PC? Please use the same account onto your new PC. Normally CDKeys will follow the original account it was placed in.
Answer: I haven't saw a video game that requires ongoing payments. Most video games I have purchase are all one time payment. However, there is a steam sale going on right now. Remember the games are only linked to one account so you can't transfer to another account.
