I bought a ticket for my mom, the time flight was changed and I was never informed by this agency, I found out when I called the airline to request a wheel chair. So I had to call again because whoever answered the phone said that the flight was cancelled due to COVID, I was WHAT! COVID! So I call the airline again and nothing was cancelled, but the departure time was changed. So I called back and Sebastian told me that they could reimburse half of the ticket, in fact less that half because i used it already, so I said NO!, you must resolve it, and then he said, if you want me to reissue the ticket you must pay $ 130, my supervisor said that only taxes will be charged.

I booked a flight from Amman to cairo, cairo to London, London to toronto & a return to Jordan.
My flight from Cairo to London got cancelled AFTER I travelled to cairo. Customer service didn't help and cancelled my whole trip and said they would refund me 500$ (which I havent received yet). I paid a total of 1400$ to only get barely refunded. I was stuck in cairo airport and was forced to purchase a new ticket that was extremely expensive.
They charged my card three months ago. They didn't issue tickets. They said they charge back. They didn't. Typical scam. Stay away...
Smartfares are thieves. They literally stole $ 1,045 from my account. When I bought an air ticket through that company on May 7 this year, my bank first refused the transaction. My mistake was that I clicked to recognize transaction because I needed that ticket. But neither before nor after that Smartfares never sent me any email with air ticket details, nor any email at all, nor did they withdraw money from my account on the first day. The next day, convinced that I had not bought a ticket, I bought another airline ticket through another operator who immediately offered me more options. They even called me on the phone several times the same hour after I bought the ticket. After I bought the ticket via HOP2, I saw that Smartfares withdrew $ 1045 from my account. Of course, I called my bank and they gave me the number of these thieves. And of course, they didn't want to refund all of my money, and they said "that happens" when I said I never got any email from them. They offered to return me $ 600 or a credit in the same amount for future Turkish Airlines flights. I chose second option but they then asked me to pay an additional $ 150 for cancellation. I turned this down because they were already suspicious to me so I chose that $ 600 refund. To date, they have not paid me anything, although they have promised several times that I will get money in 1/2 biling cycles, and then 2-3 billing cycles. I even got a refund code and once a month I warned them about debt. Recently, they stopped answering me. My advice to everyone is- Never do business with Smartfares!
Like most of these comments, this travel agency has misleading and deceptive services. They advertise free 24-hour cancellation and I even purchased the extra insurance and they still charged fees for the cancelation. When calling their customer service, they try to push you very hard to pay for pricier flights and claim it's the last deal and to act now on the phone. The call center is based in India and the agents give terrible customer service. When my flight got canceled by the airline I called SmartFares to request a refund. First, they tried to deny me a refund stating the airlines haven't given them authorization. Secondly, they tried to have me (the customer) get a 'waiver code' from the airlines, upon speaking to the airline rep, customers are not responsible for getting waiver codes and that its the agency's job to do that. Lastly, another SmartFares rep, as well as many other SmartFare customer service reps previously, continued to claim that a refund could not be issued UNTIL I had them on a 3-way call with the Airline representative. I listened to the airline rep straight out tell them that I am entitled to a refund. After that, there was never any refund issued by SmartFares and no emails to their travel help desk email were responded. The only good thing about this agency is the cheap prices, but if you need a refund or other customer services then you're out of luck. I also wouldn't purchase any of their other services after experiencing the misleading advertising of free cancelation. I wouldn't trust anything from this agency. If you find a cheap ticket and are very sure you will take the flight, and chances for cancelation are low, I would buy from this site only if the flight is much much cheaper. Just don't expect much from this agency, terrible.
Useless company. Booked a flight and after 30 minutes got an email saying the payment wasn't processed because the price of the flight went up... If the price flight goes up AFTER the purchase was made WHY should I be charged more? So we call the number on the email and they told us the price had gone up by $100 a ticket... So, we cancelled the flight instead. They told us we'll get the money back in 7-10 business days, it's been over a month and we still haven't received our refund. It's obviously a scam. We've called the centre 4 times and every time the employees say the same thing "you'll get the refund in 3-4 business days". Honestly, all I can hope for is that this company goes bankrupt, out of business so no one has to deal with this scam bs again. Let's manifest the destruction of this company together! (:

This company is a complete scam! I booked through them after my flight got cancelled last minute. I booked a flight for the next day for me and 2 of my friends. Total was almost $900. I had a bad feeling about it and decided to call to check we were on the flight. Turns out, you pay first for a reservation only (no seats guaranteed). Money taken out of account immediately. I asked to cancel and they said could take up to 3 weeks to get money back! Crazy it takes so long to refund but they can take money in a second. This was 3.5 weeks ago! My husband has been calling every week and they keep saying it should be there by end of this week. Still no refund! DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM!

I booked a flight the night before through smartfares- and then looked up reviews. After not receiving an airline confirmation code - I checked the almost unanimously awful reviews and had close to a heart attack. I took a deep breath, called customer service and explained my issue. The nice rep apologized on their behalf for not sending me the code and told it to me over the phone. I verified that my tickets were secure before ending the call. If you are looking for the best deal - I think this is the option (usually I go Expedia but this was too cheap to pass up)

If I could give this company negative stars, they would get a 10! We purchased tickets (4 seats plus 1 lap infant) for almost $3000. Thanks to Covid, our flights were cancelled by the airlines. We tried getting ahold of the airline to no avail multiple times. We decided to call SmartFares to ask about a refund and we're told that they could offer us a full credit or $500 back per seat plus $100 for our lap infant which put us at a $2100 refund and an almost $1000 loss. We were able to speak with a supervisor who "the best he could do" was get us a $2500 refund and still put us at almost $500 loss. Even then, the refund was still pending approval and could take up to 12 weeks. I was still not satisfied and demanded full refund and faster resolution. The "supervisor" reiterated that the refund was the best he could do but that he could ask for expedited resolution of up to 8 weeks. Seeing that I was going to lose the battle, I took it upon myself to file a complaint with the BBB. After submitting my complaint along with screenshots of everything, less than 24 hours later I had a reply from the company stating we were getting a full refund.

I have called them about 10 times and was in hold for long time which means I also lost a lot of money for the call. The funny fact is I even didn't receive the response from there. So I had to anyway contact them and get any info. Live chat system was ok. Because I received very fast response and got all info what I needed. But what is also very funny fact that My ticket was unconfirmed and cancelled but in the web-page there is still available. So I contacted them again and with this issue but they say it shows in page but people won't get confirmation about reservation. Here you go. This(smartFares.com) system doing basic business. Because when I Wanted refund my money. They surprised me, I will refund my money for 7-14 business days. And also it may take even longer. 1 month!. Which means I have doubt to see mo money back. Anyway I will say that - Stop doing $#*! for your customers, You better stop do that. First u take their money then their nerves and in the end cancel their tickets. Very very unsatisfied system. Will never ever use it again or will never recommend it to anyone.

I bought 2 tickets with them. My credit card got charged, I receved an email with my reservation info, but when I was checking in at the airport, the cashier told me - I do not have tickets for the flight.
I was very surprised, because I was checking my credit card - and there was a charge for the tickets,

Bought my ticket from them on June 16 and cancel it the same day because it was pending and not confirmed. When I called to check the status of my tickets I was told that They put me as a stand by ticket. Today is June 29 and never got my money back they have the worst customer service
This is so far the worst place that i have encounter on the internet so far they are winnig, they dont answer calls an when they do hang up. Dont do refunds or fair cancelations of any kind. Places like this should be close and penalize for scam practices and the poor service they do. It is really not fair to steal peoples mony or time regardless.

I just booked a flight through spirit for a weekend in USVI and not only did they steal my money but the customer service was extremely unbelievable. I booked through AA and wanted to cancel the flight. Called the customer service about 12 times before being connected to an older man with a middle eastern accent (the same person EVERY TIME, different name) who disconnected the call every time I asked for a refund. I demanded a flight confirmation code because it was 2 days after I booked and still didn't have an official flight ticket. Then I decided to go to spirit myself and try to get a refund. Which if you know anything about spirits policies for changes or refunds was HELL! Moral of the story I lost $700 right before having to take a trip. Never Again
