Ryobi enjoys a mixed reputation among its customers, with notable strengths in product quality and versatility. Many users appreciate the performance and ease of use of their tools, particularly battery-operated lawn equipment, which is praised for its efficiency and lightweight design. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to warranty claims, service delays, and difficulties in obtaining replacement parts. Complaints about inadequate support and communication suggest a need for improvement in customer relations. Overall, while Ryobi has a loyal customer base, enhancing service responsiveness could bolster its reputation further.

I'm in the fence building business. I use the 40 V Ryobi auger for the first time yesterday. I couldn't be happier. I couldn't believe that he could do what it did. It saved us so much time that I can't believe I didn't get one a lot sooner anyway, if you need an auger, I highly recommend this one.
RYOBI MOWER ELECTIC MODEL RY*******US REVIEW
3 Months in the shop for repair. That is one entire season, an actual quarter, or 25% of a year to replace 2 controller boards. Total labor? 1 hour. Out of 2100 hours I waited, it took 1 hour to fix it.
As an added highlight to my experience, I had to pay $25 as a deposit. Deposit for what? I have no idea.
It was promptly returned from the Ryobi authorized repair shop when I retrieved the mower, and frankly, the shop was courteous and friendly. They were 20 miles from my home as there are very few Ryobi authorized shops around. There were more but for reasons I can only speculate, they pulled out.
As I needed to cut my lawn, I had to buy a new mower and although the Ryobi got the job done when it worked, it struggled and overloaded often. The grass was not overgrown. It was simply thick and this mower did not have the power I needed. Therefore, I bought a gas-powered mower and will not return to electric.
If the Ryobi was repaired properly, I may keep it as a spare yet I have to test it over several cuts. The referenced failure was that the mower simply stopped completely, then the self-propel started up again with no blades. This happened numerous times during one cut.
I don't remember owning a gas mower that failed. Now, I think about how the Ryobi just stopped and would from now on anticipate the surprise every time I cut the lawn. If it fails again, I am sure I would encounter another ludicrous extended repair period.
I contacted Ryobi several times. In my first contact I complained about how long repair was taking in detail. Their reply was "Thank you for choosing RYOBI. If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us again. We have created a new and convenient way to reach out to us via text messaging. Simply text the number *******579 Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm. (est). Thank you again for choosing RYOBI and I hope that you have a wonderful day.
Further assistance? There was no assistance whatsoever!
Also, a suggestion for compensation for my trouble, having to buy a replacement lawn mower and 80 miles of driving was answered with "We cannot do that."
I read "WE REFUSE TO DO THAT."
My review summary on Ryobi: NEVER AGAIN!
I Have a Ryobi cordless stick vacuum cleaner still under warranty. It has a broken part that needs replacing. I've sent numerous emails and made numerous phone calls over a 1 week problem with absolutely NO RESPONSE. I'll never purchase another Ryobi product again.
My last 2 packages of line have been defective. The line is not separated. So, it stops feeding and cannot be pulled apart to use. I have written to them but they are so concerned with me providing the serial number of my trimmer to assist. I have told them 3 times the sticker with the s# has fallen off.
They tell me to spray the line with WD40, unwind and rewind the line.
The trimmer uses a lot of line; which is very expensive. The Customer Service is terrible!
Where do I start the best battery tools ever made. From the saws to the biggest lawn mower, and please the return policy is the best ever I never have a issue they are always nice and get right to fixing what ever may be RYOBI is the best ever thanks and have a wonderful day
I never give time for reviews but if anyone is looking for great tools at at great price I highly recommend these, I started with a 18 volt drill and started adding from there I got the Lawn edger and leaf blower I have a 1/2 acre and the battery lasted for about 1 1/2 hours on the edger and the blower. I work in the ship yard environment and get very hot I got the 18 volt portable fan added a rope around it to carry it around works great the battery last about 7 hours on high, I got my wife one while sitting on the back deck and she loves it. In my area Home Depot has the best selection of RYOBI tools I'm now up to 7 tools and plan to add a few more.
I will never buy another RYOBI equipment again I bought a rm480e in 2021 and the machine literally has 30 hrs of run time on it and the batteries are junk! I have a half acre area that I mow and I have to charge 4 times to mow it! In the beginning I could do my lawn 3 times over on one charge. RYOBI won't do anything about it and neither will Home Depot this absolute bull$#*! after paying 3,400$ for the machine with the bagger kit and now it's a 900lb paper weight in my garage! RYOBI will never get another dollar out of me! False advertisement and the products don't perform as advertised way to screw your customers over I will shop at Lowe's from now on and I'll never waist my money on a greedy company like RYOBI
With Ryobi everything I do is easier and very reliable tools I recommend them you can find everything
I have Ryibe tools since 2013 and never had a problem with them so far, mi latest purchase is the small chainsaw and i realy like it. Very practical for trimming and pruning.
My first one lasted about a year. I couldn't get it to run, would not even start. I thought it might be just a lemon so I bought another one like it. It lasted about 10 months. Same crap...wouldn't start. Kept flooding the muffler and poor sparking even with a new plug. I decided then it was nothing but junk and I advise all of you to save your money and buy something else. I'm through with any Ryobi product period. Junk junk junk!
Although my blower quit working after only 4 months, I took it back to Home Depot and it was immediately replaced without question. The blower works very good but need a little more quality control.
I have used Ryobi for years. They used to be very good tools. Not anymore. This is the second pressure washer I purchased. The first one didn't work so I thought it was a fluke. Nope! The second one does not work either. Even worse the charger that came with it overheats to the point that you can not touch it. I contacted Ryobi, Home Depot and Tool Direct. All of them say they will give me another one, which I do not want since the tool does not work. Think twice before you buy!
I have been buying these tools for years now they the most reliable tools I Have owned *I have everything from drills, sanders, skill saws, molden trimmer, finish trimmer, jig saws battery's 18 volt, 40 volts and w all plus more ouy wont go wrong buying these tools they are great plus i have lawn trimmers also
This is a decent quality, easy to use pole hedge trimmer by RYOBI. It uses a 40v lithium battery that can trim and cut branches up tp 5/8" and can be angled in 4 positions. It can *******@8ft and comes with a strap for balanced weight distribution. Since I'm a short dude at only 5'8" I was concerned it would be too top heavy but to my surprise I was able to maneuver the pole with ease and did not loose any control. It has 3 pieces-2 poles and the trimmer and you can use only one section of the pole if needed vs both for shorter reach jobs. The poles have arrows on the bottom for easy locating to attach and then you screw over the grey collar for final security
Mower exceeded my expectations. It cut wet 3 inch high grass on a 3 degree slop filling the bag 2x!
My lightly used 40V mower stopped working. I was hopeful that Ryobi customer service would provide a solution under warranty. Almost a week waiting on the customer service line after the chat and email features failed to work and i finally got a call back. *note* if you are experiencing heavier than normal call volume every day, the that's actually normal call volume and you should do something about it. Unfortunately, when i did get through, i was given a list of repair shops, but none of them, within 250 miles of me, would repair a battery operated mower. So the warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I had been a loyal ryobi customer, thinking i could use many tools on the same platform, but i've learned a hard lesson. Never again.
I bought one of these and used it for less than a year and the knife/blade that cuts the string as you use it broke off. It screws into a plastic piece on the guard piece. That plastic piece broke off completely. I epoxied it back on but that did not hold. So I got another one. That one broke off the first time I used it. It would be better if it was screwed into metal instead. Not sure how that can be accomplished. The plastic is not strong enough. I'm sending the 2nd one back to Amazon. Ryobi needs to go back to the drawing board.
Cordless ******* leaf blower is sure easier to handle than any corded unit. Light weight makes it comfortable to use.
I have 3 ryobi products. All three have problems with the batteries not working. My 40 lawnmower will not even get through my medium size yard with the two batteries that came with the mower and a 4 amp that I got with a weed eater. I will NEVER buy another Ryobi product again. Also they have the WORST customer service that I have ever encountered. Home Depot where I purchased it is not much better. Going back to gas lawn mower. Biggest mistake I have made purchasing Ryobi mower.
After my old Ryobi had a switch failure, I bought a new cordless blower. Right out of the package, it quit after five minutes. We always keep two batteries in the charger and I had to switch batteries four times before I could finish blowing my patio and driveway. I don't think I was asking a lot of the stool.
The second problem is I had to keep constant pressure on the switch to keep the machine on. This was tiresome for my hand. Wish there was a way to have an alternative constant use switch. After a half hour the job was done, But I had to keep running inside and switch batteries.
Answer: I own 2 chain saws, 18" bar and 14"bar, both run excellent, I have cleared a lot of trees over the last several years on property up north, thank you
Answer: Yes, call Ryobi's 800 number. They will send a replacement. The same thing happened to me.
