I never use any online services but Roomster was great! Super clean design and useful, functional tools. Great resource to find roommates or list rooms for rent. I never think a online rental website can take a major part in our life.

I have moved in and out of so many places in this city, I am basically more experienced than half of these brokers out there. I can not stand a slow hunt, and when I am out in the field, I like to keep it no nonsense. Used to frequented all sorts of other websites, from apartment finder, to street easy, to the obvious craigslist. None of those have come close to the results I have seen with Roomster.com. If you want it fast and secure, stop looking at those other sites, because as you will realize, they just dont make the cut.

You cost more. Not sure if it's worth it yet. From what I can tell your profile information isn't as easily read or well covered as your competition. Information was not easy to fill in or included on most of the profiles i've read so far.

The system was not accepting valid payment, forcing me to use a secondary means of providing the exact same payment. I will be extremely upset if that turned out to be a false negative and in fact charged my card multiple times.

I personally have had an ok experience. I would have rated this site with 3 stars, except for the fact that I didn't know that after your initial subscription it gets renewed for 30 more days at $29.95. Other than that, I like their "Megaphone" feature which allows you to blast out a message to a lot of people that are looking for roommates in the same area you are looking to rent. We'll see if I have any luck finding a roommate on this site...

I had a great apartment, but needed a sub-letter to move in so that I could finish out the lease. When this girl Denise said she could move in AND pay all five months up front, that sounded great. The bad part was everything that followed. She was ambiguously employed and would be up all hours doing coke with her friends, sleeping all day, and generally acting like an insane person. One time, I woke up in the middle of the night, and she was sitting on the edge of my bed talking to me in a creepy whisper voice, saying, “I’m so mad, Julie. I’m so mad.” I don’t know what she was talking about, but I tried to usher her out as quickly as possible. Eventually I got rid of her and listed the room for rent on Roomster. They have some great tools for listing rooms and it helped fill it with a suitable person really fast. Would definitely recommend to anyone I had a very good experience with Roomster.

The fact that you make me pay 10 dollars to read a message is unbelievable. And the fact that my subscription 'automatically renews' itself unless I cancel it is just taking advantage of people. Come on guys. Half of us on this app are starving college students. That's why we are on roomster: to look for a roommate because we can't afford our own place. And then you make us pay 10 dollars to view a message. And it's not like the 10 dollar subscription is a lifetime subscription. No. We have to keep making monthly payments just to view messages. I'm sure no human actually reads these complaints but whatever.

I always support Roomster.com because when I needed any room then I took it from Roomster.com within 2 weeks according to my choice. I found the site to be easy to use and straight forward. So I can say that Roomster is best.

I needed to move out of my apartment unexpectedly so I put an ad up on Roomster and was surprised as to how quickly the responses came in! It took no time at all to actually find a place I loved and it didn’t hurt that the people are fantastic! What I really like about this site is that if you are active on there and login often, your ad gets bumped up and becomes more visible. So by being more active, you will actually speed up the process of finding a place! Love it!

Genius! Roomster started out as a way for us to find a short term place in New York whilst in the process of moving. Since then we have used it again. The website helps you find what you are looking for and functions just as expected. I will continue to use them for my future moving experiences or until the time comes when we decide to purchase a home of our own.

Roomster is absolutely horrendous do not use them! They claim to be free and then they make you pay for a subscription, and then they charged you 30 dollars. They also do not have a proper contact phone number! And they take forever to respond on the 24/7 chat, and also I had no luck at all finding a roommate. I contacted several people and still never heard anything. The associates on the help line are extremely rude as well. STAY FAR AWAY!

I am not interested to spend more money for accommodation. That’s why, I always share my room with other. I got one roommate from a large number of desirable roommates on Roomster. I communicated with him and now sharing my room. Roomster.com giving the great services for their consumers.

I just moved to New York City to work as a yoga instructor at my friends studio in SoHo. I fell in love with this city the moment I arrived and knew that this next chapter in my life would be full of adventures and exciting things. When I first arrived I was staying with my cousin but it turned out to be too much of a hassle because he was always getting home very late and I didn’t have a set of keys so was forced to wait for him. I started looking into getting my own place and I found Roomster. At first glance the site is really nicely laid out and they have a bunch of features that are extremely useful, especially the Maps feature. After about two weeks on the site I found an amazing room to rent super close to the yoga studio! So excited for what the future holds, thank you Roomster!

Not much is required to post a listing, so very often I am uncertain whether or not the posting is a scam or whether I would be safe/unsafe by agreeing to go view the space. For example, no pictures, no profile filled outs, and no assurance that Roomster has any idea who these individuals are (in case something were to happen to me while viewing what I thought was a possible space for rent).

My friend and I were looking for an apartment to move into together and we were so happy when we came across ROOMSTER! We really wanted to find a place together and came across this great apartment in the Financial District. I don’t think we would have ever found it without Roomster! We will be living with this great girl who actually ran into trouble when her former two roommates decided to move out at the same time. It all worked out so great and the funny thing is that my friend went to the same college as her! Such a small world!

Roomster helped me find a really nice room to rent when I was studying abroad. It was always my dream to study the culinary arts in Europe after experiencing some of the best cuisine of my life there. One particular chef in Italy inspired me so much with his passion that I knew I wanted to embody that mentality. After securing an apprenticeship with a respected chef in England I started looking into housing solutions and different options. Most of the stuff I found was extremely expensive and at first I was very worried that I would not find anything reasonable enough to fit my budget. After I found Roomster that worry was gone! They have so many listings that I’m sure there is something there for anybody no matter what their financial situation is. I found a really amazing deal to rent a room in a flat in Shoreditch in the East End and I’m beyond thrilled to begin this next chapter of my evolution!

At times in can seem like the task of finding a decent roommate in a decent time frame is an ill fated cause from the start, however, Roomster is here to abate your roommate woes! I absolutely love this site. So simple to use and a great resource, much better than airbnb!

The messages I was getting when I had my subscription previously were either not serious or from candidates that I would consider in my search. The process was not selective and anyone could message me. The site is also too expensive for the roommate options it gives, but I would like to see the messages I have received. I think it's extremely unhelpful and deceptive that messages cannot be read before paid subscriptions since that's not initially advertised.

Last time I didn't find any places from the "many" advertised. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. Please advise me. I need a one or two bedroom flat or guest house in the Hollywood Hills or west as far as Santa Monica.

Never had an issue with my roommates before but of late they have been extremely messy and have been leaving crap all around the house and I got sick of cleaning up after them. My cousin told me bout Roomster and I found a really sweet deal for a room to rent on the cheap.
