My spotlight and doorbell does not catch action in my driveway or front door. I wrote to Ring about my problem and they haven't responded. Last night about 4 am there was a loud knock on my front door. Neither the spotlight nor doorbell caught it. It terrified me not being able to see what was happening outside my home. Don't waste your money on Ring.
I purchased a newer model ring doorbell to replace my original. I emailed them and was told that at the end of the 30 day free subscription the new doorbell would roll over to my subscription that I had just renewed on my old doorbell. I was leery and sure enough the plan did not transfer over automatically. I emailed them twice and finally had to call in order to have the subscription transferred to the new doorbell. Terrible customer service. Here's their response: "... our incoming queries queue turned out to be a bit busier than expected." I guess that revenue-generating customers are responded to and others are not.
After subscription ran out, doorbell camera was terrible. Live view would take so long to come on that it was a waste of time. I took doorbell inside in the same room as the router then engaged live view, an the camera was still so bad it was pathetic. The lens was clean. This proves that if you dont continue the subscription with the cloud that they diminish the performance. This means that the purchase price buys you the right to buy a subscription not a product. There should be a class action filed on this company.
Its taken me several weeks to resolve my most recent issue with my Ring Mk1 doorbell but I cannot fault the customer service other than the speed of resolution.
The Ring Team are very good at resolving the issues - eventually so whilst its been painful owning the product I have to be fair and upgrade what could have been a 1 star review to 4 stars because of the customer service.
Background.
I have used my Ring Device for a nearly three years now. After an initial swap out of a faulty device a few months after purchase have been relatively pleased with functionality.
There's been a couple of issues along the way with connectivity but since February 2019 several issues mainly due to incompatibility with other android software.
1. Ring functionality just dropped of my phone without reason
2. My wifes phone is also not picking up Ring device now.
3. I have provided numerous screen-shots and carried out all the troubleshooting known.
I have the ring for almost 6 month and I am not satisfied with how it works. It just tell me of any car that drives in front my house, but it does not tell me when a car goes up/ down my driveway. It record some activities, but it skips lots of others. During the day, it adjust to the light in my porch, so everything outside it is blank if it is a sunny day. Early in the morning and late in the afternoon are the only times that the vision is good. At night is a hit or miss thing. The other night there was police activity on the street, the ring did not record anything... and then, when somebody ring the bell, it takes forever to connect, and when it does nobody is at the door anymore! I totally believe that I wasted my money! This company should come up with a better product to replace this good for nothing thing!
This is an update to my complaint about ring.com. They did recommend a fix but I had to pay for it! It didn't work I had spent hours trying to get my ring system to operate properly but to no avail, I finally bought it wired system with 8 cameras and it works flawlessly, I would not recommend ring.com infact I have a slightly used system for sale cheap!
The ring system is full of flaws. I purchased the doorbell 2 and it worked but there was a delay. I had contacted a representative he said that I needed a ring chime pro! That would fix the problem oh fyi they charge you for VIDEO/AUDIO storage 30.00 per year for each CAMERA! I thought I would purchase the FLOODLIGHT CAM, that's when I started pulling my hair. I spent 6 hours talking to 3 professional system engineers who had me move my chime pro closer to the FLOODLIGHT which is a Fancy word for Wi-Fi extender. On the box it suppose to double the distance of your ring network, it doesn't! The last professional said he would call me back but never did. You cannot add another ring chime pro, my VIDEO is jumpy and the AUDIO is un- intelligible. They said that I could add an off brand wi-fi hardwired of course. I have about 600.00 and I have better luck with a cheap set up. Never once did they said Maybe it is the equipment oh wait that was me. They Emailed me and asked how they did.
Had ring 2 for more than a month now. Absolute junk. Do not buy. 9 out of 10 times it will not open live view. Purchase ringer never works after set up. People are gone by the time you know they were there. Save you money!
I would prefer to give them NO stars. I was on the phone over an hour to troubleshoot why the video was not in color. Finally, I chewed out a supervisor who is now going to send a replacement.

Bought 2 doorbells and one Ring Floodlight worked fine until the free cloud ran out. Decided not to sign up for their service and since that time I have had nothing but trouble it now takes forever to bring up on phone works about 50% of the time even when at home and I have the fastest internet you can buy. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE...
We started with the Ring doorbell and paid the $30 monitoring for a year. We loved it so much, we got the entire system for our house. We had to pay the $100 for that, so I asked for a refund for the other via the chat box. I had the money refunded within 5 minutes tops! Are you kidding me? WOW! We had to call another time and had the issue resolved within 6 mins from the time I dialed. This is so refreshing after 13 years with another well known company that kept jacking up our rates. You can't touch this monitoring fee... or their professional customer service! I am so happy! I'm astounded at the bad reviews!

I bought two ring cameras. I decided on a different ring camera, so I returned the two I no longer needed. Although ring received the cameras that were returned, they failed to return the money to my Paypal account. When I called regarding the order, they stated they had been quite overhelmed with returns, so it was nothing personal. Did I mention that they had the return for 58 DAYS! **Watch your credit card statements if you return items to ring. If I had not followed my statements, I am pretty sure they would continue to be overwhelmed with returns, and I would have never been reimbursed for the returned products.
Received ring as a Christmas present. Hooked up, would not work. Door bell rang constantly. Customer service determined our internet was too slow, and we needed a mechanical door bell. So, more money to upgrade internet and purchase simple "ding dong" mechanical door bell. Door bell will not work, but at least it not ringing constantly. Camera worked for two weeks, battery went dead. Recharged in doors, and now will not work at all. Customer service cannot help, with internet upgrade and new doorbell. It has now been 13 months. Sorry, SOL.
I purchsed a ring doorbell for security... my car was broken into and the ring only recorded them driving away! This thing has never worked as they claim it does... all of the reviews for it are bad. I think we as consumers are being decevied. IT is time for a class action law suit. If you are going to make a product you should not be able to sell junk and claim it's a great system when you alreadY know it's junk and does not work. 2 pkgs were delivered at my door during the time we were gone. No video of that delivery even though pkgs were placed near front door. That tells me there is activity that is not recorded. Why? Had less than a year. Useless.
Set up Ring alarm which works Ok. Limited connectivity with non-Ring products and inability to set auto on/off in "home" (stay) mode at night. Not compatible with IFTTT.
Base station beeps upon entry to let potential thieves know where it is and smash/disconnect it so it's useless after that.
Ordered additional sirens. Never shipped even though emails said it had. Customer service told me to keep waiting. Tracking on their own website said it was still in warehouse. Emails ignored. Called again and told they "escalated" my case. Still nothing. Finally called and insisted on refund. Whole saga took about a month to get my $ back. Terrible customer service! Stay away from Ring. Trouble makers in neighborhoods throw a pebble wait 40 seconds then destroy/steal property. OR throw pebble every thirty seconds n wears down battery. EVIL people with nothing to do.
First you pay 199.00 for a doorbell. Then using your WiFi purchased through your paid providerthey charge you 100.00 a year to use it. Motion shows cars driving by after they are passed. People at front door after they walk away. If you don't pay 100 a year you can't see who is at your door at all. RIP OFF.
Ordered the alarm kit, and a doorbell. Overnight shipping because I am going to leave the country in 5 days.
Two days later, Checked why the order did not arrive. Apparently order was canceled internally. Didn't even bother to send me an email about the cancellation. Called the customer service twice, sent me on a whole circle saying that the bank declined the payment. Once the bank confirmed that there is a charge posted by them on the account, Ring apologized. And that's it!

Bought s Ring Pro doorbell and it worked for about a year or so. However it frequently disconnected from my network. Most times it reconnected on its own. I paid for their monthly service until I was having so many issues with it disconnecting.
Last October it stopped connecting altogether. Did some hard resets, disconnected it completely, checked my voltage which was fine but nothing. The doorbell does not eeven appear on my iphone. Called Ring Support and they ran me through the basics which I did on my own with no results. They could see that my doorbell was off line since October. I did not mess with it any more as the doorbell chimes did work,... at least. Then in February I tried again to reconnect but same thing, iphone does not pick up the doorbell to set up. Anyway, long story short, called Ring Support again, this time they said my doorbell was never registered with them and they were not too keen on helping, but they did. I carried out all the basic steps to rest, but not working. Anyway, I gave up. Do not waste you money on this product. Unreliable and support sucks. Will buy from another manufacturer and hopefully better than this Ring crap.

You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
