Worst site to make reservations. I thought I booked with the hotel directly and apparently not. I booked the hotel and the wrong dates came back on my email confirm. Had to cancel and they still charged me $14.99. They even went so far to tell me it's my fault for using their web site and there's a $14.99 disclaimer. AWEFUL customer service and travel site. In the end it was my mistake because I should have used American Express in the first place.
Scummy, misleading, overpriced. All you need to know. We were accidentally directed to book with them, and their prices were rediculous. To top it all off they lied to us and refused to accept our cancellation.
This is a 3rd party reservation website and the information they provide about a location is not necessarily accurate. When in doubt of an amenity that you specifically need - call the hotel direct to confirm that amenity is advertised correctly! The information on this website does not come the the actual source!
I thought I was making a reservation with a Hilton Hotel, but the reservation.com lookalike website came up instead... what a scam! If they were reputable they could exist on their own merit, but the only way this piece of crap business can make any money is to fake out the consumer... you know they don't count on repeat business! Once I received the confirmation email I noticed it said that there were no changes or cancellation allowed without losing the entire amount. I also noticed that the amount was considerably higher than advertised on the website, with additional fees added on. I immediately called their help desk to and discussed the mistake and asking for a refund, etc. seeing how the reservation was still three months away. After talking to three different folks and being promised that a supervisor would call me back within 24 hrs (which didn't happen) they all said the same thing... that they would love to provide a refund but it was Hilton's policy not to allow refunds... total hogwash! I called Hilton and they said it is definitely no their policy... that in fact their policy is that you can cancel up till midnight before your stay. Please stay away from this company as the are deceptive and untruthful.

Yep, I too was scammed by reservations.com. I am an experienced (and careful) traveller but they got me for a bunch of extra bogus charges plus an additional $14.99. I disputed the $14.99 with Amex and they credited my account almost immediately. So AmEx is apparently on to this scam. This is a tricky and dishonest company that needs to be shut down.
They set it up to look like you are booking directly with hotel. Price was shown as $103. As soon as I put my info and credit card in it flashed $140 and non-refundable! Didn't even get a confirmation number and only found that out from an e-mail from a rental car company trying to get me to book a car with the hotel I just booked. I immediately called to cancel after realizing I was just scammed. They refused and said it's non-refundable! Nothing had shown non-refundable until I input my info and it was too late. They charged card immediately. I made them give me a breakdown of how it got to $140 when it was only supposed to be $103. She spoke quickly saying it was this tax and that tax and tried to hide fee of $14.95. I made her slowly repeat and figured they added a fee! Called hotel and the total room rate that they booked for me was only $92.54 which means they scammed $47.46 from me. Unfortunately since people are thinking they are directly with hotel--they don't know to look at the thousands of bad reviews and BBB complaints reservations.com is getting until it's too late. That is what they are banking on and that is how these miserable scum bags make a living--to scam people. Wonder if they would like their mother's to get scammed like this. Stay away from these scammers!
I thought I was making hotel reservation with the hotel (by phone on the site) but it turned out to be reservations.com. To make it short, I cancelled the reservation within half an hour and asked for cancellation confirmation email, which I got. Strange thing is, the email says they cancelled itinerary no xxxxxxx which is different from the itinerary number on the reservation confirmation email. And the confirmation email had confirmation number and itinerary number - for hotel reservation. So I called the credit card company immediately and they told me the money was already charged to my account. I informed the credit card company that the I cancelled the reservation with reservation.com. By phone contact and that reservation.com emailed me the cancellation confirmation. The credit card company made a note of it in case the cancellation does not come through. I then made reservation directly with the hotel and it was $50 cheaper for a 2-night stay.
I wanted to book a one night stay at a hotel in mississauga ontario, i was searching for the best rates on the actual hotel site but suddenly was redirected to reservations.com not knowong this was in USD as nowhere visible did it say on the page i went on with booking my stay to findout after entering my info for oayment that this was un USD. On top of this i was charged service fees... called and customer service was just unhelpful and rold me there was nothing they can do... i will make sure noone EVER gets scammed by reservations.com like i did... be careful make sure you read carefully and check your URL when booking anything... i live in Canada why would i book from a US site is why i told them but they dis not care to give me a full refund of all costs, including the service fee, along with cancellation of the reservation... they did NOT care and here i am stuck paying 60 dollrs more than i should have
I reserved a room with full refund if I cancel the day before arriving! Oh no, the next day I called to cancel and they put me on hold 3 times and still said I would only get 4 days plus fees not the full 5 days refund plus fees. I ranted and ranted but she said if I kept disagreeing she wouldn't be able to give me a refund at all. So I calmed down and got my 4 days plus fees refunded but they would review my complaint and get back to me in 7 to 10 days. The email they sent me said I would get my full refund. I called my credit card company and they are disputing the charge for me. Wish me luck!
When look up a hotel it goes to as the hotel reservation. They book my room in a different city. Called immediately and they refused to correct. Over $1100. 00
Lots of hidden fees and policy info that is not informed till after booking. I wouldnt even give it a 1star if I didnt have to. Definitely boycott this website any other website is cheaper and no hidden fees or policy info.
Ditto every bad thing said about this company. I am disputing the 14.99 charge because no one ever said there would be any charge. I have also cancelled my reservation and will make reservations with someone else besides Wyndham hotels since they allow this crooked company to make reservation for them
Same experience with everyone else. The one positive review they have must be an employee. Was misled by online's ad service and reservations.com making themselves seem like hotel's site. I don't know why but their taxes and fees on top of the 14.99 service fee are way higher than hotels or other sites (hotwire, Priceline, etc). Was able to cancel and only paid 14.99 which I'll consider a "learning" fee. Even with that fee I still saved money by booking through hotel. Save yourself the trouble by booking through hotel directly or through reputable online services such as hotels.com.
Misleading site which came up at top of Google listing with url that made it seem like it was the hotel I was searching for. Tried to book - page just reloaded... figured site was working. Later in day I see a $14.99 charge on my credit card. No confirmation email no nothing... scam artists.
This company has the worst customer service! If you have a problem with your reservation they will NOT take any responsibility and contacting them its almost impossible! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
What a joke. A hotel i wanted to book used this website to manage their reservations. Called and was promptly put on hold for over 20 minutes. Gave up and booked another hotel instead. Essentially lost business to the hotel i wanted to stay at.
This website will be gone soon enough, but lets all do our part to make it sooner rather than later. I'ts doing a disservice to the consumer.
I accidentally called reservations.com when I was trying to book two hotel rooms for my niece's wedding. I went through the process to book the rooms, have then my credit card and the person that I was talking to said that the credit card wasn't going through for the second room. I checked my credit card balance and he had charged me in US funds without letting me know. Originally he had quoted me $220 and $298 had been taken off! I immediately told him that I wanted to cancel the rooms and he told me that I had to talk to customer service. I called them, argued with a girl and insisted on talking to a manager who told me that the reservation was non refundable and there will be a fee on top of it to cancel it. He said that it didn't matter that I had told the original person in the first phone call at the time of booking that I didn't want the room. This company is a gigantic scam, if anyone is actually considering using it and not just tricked into it be very cautious.
I was mislead by a banner at the bottom of the hotel website which took me away. I didn't realize it until it was too late. As a result I overpaid by $55 per room per night and when we checked out, the hotel billed us for the rooms because they hadn't received payment from reservations.com. I had paid in full on Monday Morning, we checked in Weds afternoon and by Thursday they still hadn't received payment.
Be careful.
Fortunately, I decided to call the hotel the day of our stay only to find they did not have the reservation. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Reservations.com only to have them tell me they would research it! Of course the hotel is booked full! Fortunately I was able to find another hotel. Filed a dispute on my credit card charge.
They pretend to be the hotel, scam you on taxes, and add a 'service fee'. I called them and they refused to refund, refused to give me break-down of the taxes, and basically said tough luck. I was scammed by these awful people... never again.
