In all my years of booking online, this has to be the worst experience ever. I would like to think that this review might have an impact on reservation.com's overall ranking but since it is already rock bottom, I guess that I can only have a marginal impact on making it worse. I made a booking with reservations.com, found a much cheaper way to book the room, then called reservations.com back a few hours later. The person who answered the call pulled up the reservation details and told me that the reservation I had made had been cancelled, so there was nothing he could do. The reservations.com agent instructed me to check on the web. I did and indeed it did show that my reservation had been cancelled. Since there was no reason why the reservation should have been cancelled, and since the reservations.com agent who answered the phone was obviously totally incompetent, I didn't believe him. I asked him to send me an email confirming the details of our conversation, and I insisted that I would stay on the line until I received his email. He said that this was impossible, and that I would receive his email within 24 hours. I never received the email. I have tried calling reservations.com hundreds of times since then, to discuss the matter in person, but their customer service line is perpetually busy. A month later I'm being charged by reservations.com for a reservation that reservations.com made, and then cancelled immediately after the reservation was made. Bottom line. Nobody should *EVER* use reservations.com.
Literally said the entire hotel booking was $180 and it comes out to $310. Scammed! It's been 3 weeks since my reservation and still no refund. I have called 8 times and 4 of the times I have been lied to " the hotel does not let us cancel" I called the hotel and they said we can cancel no problem it's just reservations holding you money. I called back and the lady said she called my hotel and they specifically told her the hotel cannot cancel. I call her out on it and she moves me to a 7 day waiting list. One of the customer service helpers left me on hold for 15 minutes cause I was calling him out on all his lies. Customer service full MORONS THAT TRY TO HARD TO COVER UP FOR A SCAM OF A COMPANY.
We work for a hotel company based in Canada and we have many customers who have been tricked booking through this company. They do not make an actual reservation for your stay and as they take payment on booking it is impossible to get a refund
They advertised Best Western hotel for $159.00 per night. Ee booked via credit card. Reservations.com charged us 225.56. BAIT&SWITCH DO NOT USE
I thought i was booking through he hotel and twice confirmed the price and that it was in Canadian dollars. When i hung up and checked my credit card i was charged triple of what i was told and when i called back they would not refund all my money. Thankfully I deal with a wonderful bank that will help with this dispute.
Avoid this online service! TERRIBLE with NO customer relations at ALL!
Totally misrepresent themselves and DO NOT fairly inform you of a nonrefundable fee which only appears when an email arrives! This company leads you to believe it is the hotel and were very poor at communicating with customer. Worst online company I have ever tried to use! AVOID AVOID AVOID!
I thought I was booking with the hotel I chose online. Somehow I was connect with reservations.com. I requested reservations for the hotel and the rep advised that the hotel was booked for that day so she recommended another hotel. I agreed to the recommendation. I was quoted a price and made the reservations. I asked about cancellation and the rep states no problem before check in, no mention of a cancellation fee. I confirmed reservations and hung up. I went to my account to find two charges on my card, neither the price I was quoted. Now I'm angry so I call them back for them to explain the charges. I was told that there was a $14.99 processing charge; my original quote didn't include taxes which the rep said it did because I asked her for the price with taxes. And oh, to cancel the reservations there is a $25 fee. Now I'm even more angry so I went ahead with the cancellation losing $40 and all because I didn't phone the hotel directly and this company's dishonest business tactics. Oh by the way, I phoned the hotel after I cancelled with reservations.com and yes they had rooms available. I've never dealt with such a dishonest, shady so called business in my life. They really shouldn't be allowed to be in business.
In Canada came up as hotel I was booking. Thought I book through the actual hotel as I called the number and they answered as the hotel. They charged me over 500 dollars for what I thought was 297.00. After calling another company who the hotel said I actually booked through. It was reservations.com. They charged me great Britain and American fees plus 25 for them and I live in Canada. Would not even try to correct.
I booked with them twice. The second time they charged me about 35%over the room tate indicating that this is NY state tax and fees which proved to be false.
On the third time they rushed me to makr a booking with extra amount than announced. I told them that I will think of it, but agent was pushing to have the deal done. I insisted not to confirm the booking and went directly to the hotel. The hotel gave me the lower rate without the extra charges claimed by Reservations.com.
I am disappointed with their service and dishonesty.
Bummer! The room rate was way higher with all of their fees. No refunds or cancellations. Cost me around 70$ more a night than the hotels website. I'm so stupid!
What a scam! They post a teaser rate then slam me for an extra $40.00! I will call the hotel directly next time. I asked how much the room would have been if I had called directly and it was the same as the "teaser rate" posted by Reservations.com! $64.00 for a room turned into a $99.00 charge on my credit card! Reservations.com SUCKS!
Oh yes, they did tell me I would pay a $14.99 charge but the man I talked to said it was included in the price and not a separate charge. It is a separate charge an what's more its non refundable! This is a scam! Don't use them for anything. If you hear their name- hang up.
Took for ever to get a refund back and no one was helpful. I dealt with lyza and Mira and neither were any help. They did not constantly contacted the wrong people about my refund. DO NOT USE THEM!
We made a reservation for 2 rooms for 3 nights at Best Western Ocean View. I called to cancel for a serious and unfortunate reason. I had until 1 pm on Monday August 20,2018. I called at 5 pm on Monday august 20,2018. ( 4 hours late) I was told they will be charging me for both rooms and no allowance for our issue. I will NEVER use RESERVATiONS.com again. No compassion and very poor practice.
As is listed in all the other complaints, thought I was talking to the hotel. Made the reservation, went there and checked in. The room had one bed (I made the reservation for 4 people and 2 queen beds). Of course the hotel person couldn't refund my card and had no phone number. We called reservation.com and they said they couldn't find where we had called. So we called our credit card company and explained what happened (thank heavens). With no documentation we would have been stuck paying anyway had we not called and told the credit card company right then. We are still fighting reservation.com to refund the credit card company and will file with BBB and every webbsite we can find.
I thought I was talking to the Golden Nugget as I asked and the person on the phone said so. I was on my cell phone in the airport and did not have access to this page... I made a reservation. Paid about $40 too much. And never received a receipt or confirmation. I was glad I had a reservation when I got to the hotel. But I am still trying to get a receipt. The website "manage your reservation" is useless and I have been on hold at least 30 min now. I don't think they intend to answer. I think this is a sham program. BEWARE
Just got ripped off by telephone agent. Thought I was calling Days Inn canada hotel directly instead it was a scam. All along she was quoting me prices but never once said it was US. Once booked it was non refundable. Wasn't until I received email confirmation after I was billed that it states US $! This is purposely done as they are trained to do so as I called more than once. I'll be disputing this fraudulent charge with my creditime card company who had guaranteed me I will get credited. Not an enjoyable start to a vacation. Canadians do yourself a favour stay away!
Omg, I wish I checked the reviews before booking with Reservations. Com
Tried to cancel my reservation and was on hold for 20 mins. Hung up and called back... on hold forever. Finally got someone and filled them in about my request. And then, wouldn't you know it. On hold again for 20 mins at which point I called back again. Finally got to a point where I assumed everything would be taken care of. At which point the guy on the other end tells me that I can't cancel because the hotel would not allow it... Strangely enough, I called the hotel first and they were in the process of cancelling my reservation when they tell me that reservations. Com will not allow them to make a refund and that I had to go through them. And that's exactly what I told the guy on the phone at reservations.com. So now he says that he would have to contact the hotel himself to talk to the manager. I was willing to make it a three way call but he didn't want any part of it. Anyways, he said he'll do his best but it may take awhile, awhile as in two days after my reservation. Obviously he had no intention of getting me a refund. Learned my lesson. Unfortunately it cost me $200. What a bunch of knobs.
I made a reservation using my phone because I was moving and did not have computer. They charge your credit card as soon as you book which was something that I was not use to and didn't realize it occurred. No confirmation e-mail with cancellation policy ( and by the way I tried to get one on the website no luck. Did chat and they would not provide me with one either) just a text from a random number stating that my reservation was confirmed with hotel name and date but nothing stating from reservations.com. I actually had to add on two days so I went searching for my reservation. Nothing in e-mail. Phone text with no leads as to who I booked with. Checked into hotel two days earlier and told them that I needed to cancel the reservation that I had on Wednesday and they stated that I did not have a reservation for Wednesday to Friday so I felt I was ok.
Check Visa statement mid month and found out that my reservation was with Reservations.com. Contacted them explained situation, sent paid receipt and told I was to hear back from them in 7 to 10 business days. Initial contact 17 July called back 15 August because I heard nothing. Filed a fraudulent claim with credit card company today.
Best advice is to stay away.
They impersonate 3d party websites and take advantage of the fact that you don't realize you're not booking directly with the hotel. Good luck after that.

Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.

Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
