I bought 2 $100 Dunkin Donuts gift cards from raise.com and when I went to use them Dunkin Donuts said they were not valid. I called customer support and they issues a refund, but told me that they just assume gift cards are good and dont really know unless a customer calls to complain. Good thing I called to complain before 100 days were up or Raise.com would not have helped me.

"I bought Lowes gift cards worth 5k$ with Raise. Lowes recently changed their policy and are no longer accepting egift cards. When I called up customer service they mentioned that they can't help since the purchase was made beyond 100 days. They knew that Lowes changed their policy on egift cards but did not bother to inform their customers. I was a loyal customer of Raise for more than 2 years and have purchased close to 10k$ worth of gift cards and they still did not want to help since my purchase was beyond 100 days. This company customer service is horrible. Even the supervisor Suzy would rather let the loyal customers leave than help them. I have stopped using Raise from then on."

Unfortunately, my gift card success rate with Raise.com is only about 95%, but their customer service as always made good the 5% of the time that my gift card is invalid.

Excellent Service!
March 22, 2016

I have saved so much money with Raise.com, it truly is amazing what this company does. Do not be fooled by any bad reviews, those members most likely misunderstand their protection with the 100 day guarantee. Yes, I have had cards that were troublesome, but RJ in customer service helped me and he told me my purchase price was always protected by the 100 day guarantee. I saw a refund within 2 days. This is not something that happens a lot, but it can, and that's why the 100 day thing is in place. Thank you RJ!

I just cant get enough of this website. I wish they have all the gift cards they are so I can make money out of my wanted cards or get them for a good discount when I want to use them. They only thing that bothers me is that there is a high amount of fraud out there, but the company has a good policy on backing up its clients when that happens, so I don't have to hassle for a prompt refund. Otherwise this is the best idea for frugal consumers of all kind.

They Sell Bad Cards
March 20, 2016

I'm extremely angry with Raise. I bought 480 dollars in gift cards that were already used. Ok sure they say they are guaranteed but what they don't tell you is they take 10-14 business days to conduct their investigation before they will give me a refund. I bought these cards to use for something I needed to buy that was on sale for only two days. Now I can't even buy what I need at all because Raise has tied up my money. So I'm out nearly 500 dollars for at least two weeks. They gave me a five dollar code for my trouble. This is a pittance and a joke. The biggest joke being, they think I'd actually give them money again. I hate you so much right now Raise!

Raise.com indicated it was a Brighton "gift card" but it was actually a merchandise return card which states on the back that it can NOT be sold and its nontransferable. It was signed by the previous owner. When I called Raise.com they said they verified that it can be used and to call a local store to see if they will accept it before I make a trip to the store. Well... I tried using it online, Brighton said it can NOT be used online, AND the local store said they can NOT accept it as they could get in trouble because I was NOT the person who signed the card! So I had no choice but to return the card. I told Raise that they should not allow a card that stated it can not be sold or transferred! Raise claimed that I really didn't buy the card from them but from the person selling! What?! I bought the card on the Raise.com website! I got my refund BUT I really wanted the gift card that I though I was buying! Beware, you might get a merchandise return card NOT an actual gift card!

Rip off
March 18, 2016

This is the second discounted gift card company I have used. I have only used cardpool.com which was great but they did not have many selections so I decided to use raise.com. I never had any issues with cardpool.com so when I decided to use raise.com, I never imagined that I would have any problems. Boy was I wrong big time! Some cards I received but 3 cards I did not receive. They said that I would have to wait 30 days from the order date to qualify for a refund and not to worry and to call back once the 30 days have passed. I called after a month from the purchase date and they said they will "review" and then refund back to my credit card. It didn't happen. I gave them another call (holding for 15 minutes for someone to pick up), asked about the refund and they said they would take care of it. I let it go for few weeks, then I receive an email about "one" refund but no mention of the other 2 gift cards that should be refunded. Talk about sloppy work. I emailed asking about the 2 gift cards, I emailed couple times, no response, I emailed again, no response, finally I emailed to respond to me (this time the email was not as friendly), then the "support" employee said the one gift card was scanned and redeemed in my area so no refund can be made. She did not mention the other gift card (sloppy work again). So, what I got was, it was scanned and redeemed in your area so no refund must mean you redeemed it so no refund. WHAT? So, of course I am going to call them. Was on hold for 15 minutes, had to explain to the call rep while he brought up my account online, i asked for a supervisor and was told i would have to wait because the supervisor was busy doing something, put me on hold again, then the supervisor said he will put my request in at the other department to review (REVIEW again?). I asked him if I would get my refund and that he does not know since it is not his department and that he would ask my request to be looked at the correct department (does this sound like a runaround, I think it is...)the supervisor that takes the call does not know the everyday procedure? I am sure that I am not the only one in this situation, the mail fraud goes on all the time. The envelope that they send in, if you feel it, you can feel the card so someone can easily steal the envelope knowing there is a plastic card. The ironic thing is, I am trying to save money by using raise.com but instead of saving money, I am getting ripped off from the company. Anyone who reads this should stay away from Raise.com. You will get ripped off sooner or later from the company. Had I read their negative reviews prior to using their services, I would have NEVER used their services. Two words, STAY AWAY. Research the company before using. Take my advice.

Since so many people complain about the gift card balance all gone after 100 days and raise doesn't bother and sorry u are screwed I cannot help kinda thing.

I am one of the victims, there is something painful I learnt from the 10 hrs of panic and anger on phone calls to raise, to Wholefood and TJMaxx store managers and customer services. Meanwhile, I am a mother of a crying 10 months old baby who I was carrying him at the TJMaxx store trying to resolved the 0 balance giftcard (I purchased from raise) problem with no results and no help. I learnt this lesson the most painful way. I cannot believe I let myself go through such terrible experience because of a mistake of buying their giftcards on raise.

I learnt This is how unsafe it is about giftcard is that, because we don't have the original purchase receipt! I thought the TJMaxx physical giftcard was safer but not really. The person who sold us the card report lost or stolen card and get his card replaced and zero out our balance.

Because TJMaxx will only ask for the original receipt and credit card proof of payment, if u can tell them the purchase date they can help you. But of course we Will never know that piece of information. And the store asked where u got the gift card from, once they know it's from raise they said sorry we cannot help u at all.

Anyways, dont buy any gift cards unless u use it right away. That's the only suggestions most people will tell me. Or prepare to cry and panic at the store when u wanna use it to make a few purchases for your baby and family just like me.

We lost 600 dollars because of bad gift cards. Stay away from raise. It's really not worth your time and energy to go through all these troubles. U will be panic and angry like me when u found out the gift cards no longer has any money in it without u using it at All and 100 days fly pass. Raise won't even try to resolve the problem at all and throw u the its pass 100 days right away. I seriously think they are part of the scammer business now, because many of my friends experience the same thing (being scammed).

Do u guys have any "buyer be aware" experience to share or any painful stories like mine to share? Please share it here and on their Facebook and Twitter to let everyone knows!

Gave 2 vouchers to Ruth Christs for xmas. They used the first one on Superbiwl Sunday and everything went fine. A couple months later they tried to use the second one and was told it had already been used. After several calls to Ruth Christs, no history pertaining to the usage of that card could be found. My parents, embarrassed to have to call me, told me what had happened.

I called customer support who were great. She confirmed there was no info on that voucher and immediately refunded my money.

Unfortunately, a couple things are 'sticking' with me;
1) I wouldn't feel comfortable buying a gift from the site again although I would consider buying for myself; and
2) it bothered me that this "100 day guarantee", wasn't emphasized upon sale... if the guarantee they offer only goes out 100 days then wouldn't it follow that all gift cards should be used within 100 days? Furthermore,
3) Although they say 100 day guarantee, in reality if you bought your gift card using a credit card, this is an immediate chargeback, for a period more than 100 days, under the chargeback reason: NON RECEIPT OF GOODS OR SERVICES

Decided to try Raise after reading a good review. I purchased 3 gift cards. One card was a printable card for Victoria Secret that could be used in the store - value $150. I spent the entire amount in one visit.
Since I was now confident the cards were safe to purchase, I ordered a $300 Victoria Secret card. I shopped immediately & spent about $70 of the $300. My receipt reflected the correct balance remaining - approx $230. The very next evening, I returned to Victoria Secret to shop again. I spent hours shopping, went to the register & my transaction was declined. Cashier said my card had a zero balance.
Very bad experience! The cashier called Raise & I spoke with them while standing there panicking in the store. I have 3 other cards that should have balances remaining as well. Now I'm worried about those cards as well.
Raise was apologetic & said they will refund the amount I paid to them minus what I already spent on the Victoria Secret card because I'm in the first 100 days. Hopefully, that will happen.
My advice, if you plan to buy gift cards, is to buy small amounts $100 or $150, check the balance before you start shopping, AND SPEND EVERY PENNY THE FIRST TIME YOU SHOP! Or, your remaining balance may vanish into thin air.
Update 3/19... Raise honored their 100 day guarantee and refunded me for the bad card. My other cards with Raise have so far been fine. I remember reading somewhere that buying discounted gift cards is not for the faint of heart. If you're buying these cards, there is some risk involved no matter what company you choose to purchase from. Unfortunately, no company can completely stop dishonest people from attempting to commit fraud. SO. It is extremely important that you purchase from a company like Raise that will honor their 100 day guarantee. I will purchase from Raise again because they made good on their guarantee: 0)
However, after this experience, I will purchase smaller amounts and always make sure I am spending within the first one to two weeks of my purchase.
