Unlike other sites raise.com doesn't leave you hanging when you reach out to them.
I am a long time Raise customer and never had issues with any orders until this last order I had placed for a physical card. I received the usual envelope in the mail, but no card was to be found. I contacted Raise, they investigated, and refunded my order. That takes trust, and I appreciated it. I hope Raise was able to investigate the matter with the seller, but in any case, I will continue to be a customer.
My Member Service agent Caleigh was INCREDIBLE! The stellar assistance I received September 16,2016 with her via text was prompt, courteous and extremely professional. I had an immensely troubling issue with a few gift cards I had purchased; in fact the stress caused me to loose an entire nights sleep. However Caleigh this morning was able to investigate and make the world a brighter place for me again. She utterly reaffirmed my faith in your company and you have earned my veritable devotion for life through her kind actions. My love for Raise.com shall grow because of her. Thank you earnestly and to reiterate- Caleigh is AWESOME!
Fawn really was helpful in helping me with the gift card I purchased earlier that didn't work. She definately put herself in my shoes, and was empathetic. She puts her heart and her soul into what she does for a living working at Raise. I hope Raise gives her a RAISE in her pay. No pun intended, but she does do a good job, and she certainly deserves it! Thanks again for your help, Fawn, I really appreciate it! Sue
Ordering is super easy, fast and straightforward. I love it! And I save money:)
I have had to deal with RAISE.com customer service twice now. They are again super easy to deal with. It's fast and easy, not a lot of wasted time on either end.
I alerted RAISE to the delayed delivery of one piece of mail from my expected daily mail deliveries. It just seemed fishy that the one piece of mail that should have come but did not was a gift card purchased from RAISE. I knew that the mail arrived at the post office--and as no mail reported by the post office (in my Informed Delivery Digest) as being delivered to me that day had EVER not come. Though I knew that simple misdelivery was possible, I also thought it possible that someone might have recognized the piece of mail for what it was and lifted it. So, I reported a POSSIBLE problem. RAISE did a quick follow-up and determined the last location of the envelope, let me know that they DO have a means for following this mail, assured me that my purchase price was guaranteed, and thanked me for concientious follow-up. If they call me in a few days to ask if the mail arrived OK, I will be pleased. If they also use my information as background for a future sting (if there is, in fact, a problem), I will be pleased, as well. The system seems well-managed. My report was handled properly and professionally, and I was reassured.
It is hard to argue with the savings from the discounted gift cards on the Raise website. I am an experienced buyer, and occasionally will run into an issue with an inactive gift card. These things happen when you are dealing with a third party. Raise has an outstanding 100 day money back guarantee that safeguards the customer from these issues. I have always gotten my claims resolved in a timely manner either through email or contacting customer support on the phone. I will continue to be a happy customer as long as Raise upholds their high standards of great savings and excellent customer service.
I have been maximizing my dollars' worth through using gift cards from RAISE.COM
I have made many, many, many purchases, and the several incidents where gift cards arrived with no balance - they were handled promptly and money refunded once cards were returned to RAISE and verified. I recommend this site to anyone. Since I am spending anyway, I prefer to spend up to 28% LESS.
I bought a gift card that was supposed to come in the mail. 3 weeks later, it still hadn't shown up. I used the online chat to ask about it, and was told they would give me a full refund with no hassle. The refund showed up on my credit card a few days later. I would have preferred to receive the card I bought, but getting lost in the mail is out of their control. I appreciated them making it right so easily.
I bought a gift card from Raise, which cost just over $210, but the card had already been used! I then contacted customer service, and they wouldn't refund my money. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. They have lousy customer service and wouldn't even tell me when and where the card was used. Stay away!
Sorry to be corny but it's true. Its nice to hear a pleasant voice from customer service that delivers patience and assurance. I am terrified that in this buying process, cards will be lost and I will look like a thief asking for credits. Fawn was very explanitive and comforting in educating me to understand how your investigative process works. I needed to know you had ways to verify any claims I have so that I remain a good honest customer.
She's a good girl... keep her and while you're at it... give her a "RAISE!". No pun intended.
I found that one of the HD gift card I ordered had the balance lower than the stated value. A simple online chat has resolved the issue. And a refund has been issued. I am very happy. And will continue to buy gift cards on Raise.com.
Customer service offered a refund on a missing card without my even asking -- amazing!
I had been purchasing gift cards from the site and everything was great. I was saving lots of money. Then I bought one card and when I called to check the balance, it didn't have any value on the card. I was very concerned because it was a high value card. I called customer service, and Fawn, who was very friendly and efficient, quickly refunded my money. I will be letting all my friends know this is a business that stands by its product and its customers.
Please read useful tips at bottom.
I have been buying discounted cards for years and use Raise over the past year. Must have saved thousands of dollars. I am fully aware that sooner or later I will get burned with a bad card (have always got a refund so far), and so should anyone buying such cards. Its part of the deal, and usually the fault of some dishonest person selling cards on sites such as Raise and waiting just long enough to cash in safely.
Just the other day I got two Pier 1 cards worth about $300 from Raise, both of which turned out to be bad merchandise cards. The refund was back on my credit card less than 24h after I contacted Raise. Thanks Wren!
So here are my tips:
Buy only cards you intend on using soon.
Choose denominations less than $100.
When shopping online buy the card (Egift) just before you check out. Once you are an established buyer at Raise, the card will arrive instantaneously.
Never let a card languish past the 100 day guarantee (dishonest seller may cash it).
You can save an additional 0.5 -3% (only paid on the first $1,000 worth of purchases made by a customer) by going through CouponCabin.
Good Luck!
Made the mistake of buying from RAISE.com a $200 "egift" card for $161 not noticing it was "online" purchase. My bad for not reading it carefully, I admit but and when I tried to call within minutes to cancel but was told by Raise customer representative that was too late. So BE AWARE their "egift" card are typically for ONLINE ONLY. Also AVOID selling thru Raise not only because they charge a commission but also because their system is unreliable and inconsistent and we ended up wasting a lot of time with their customer service on various issues and still ended up with a balance of -$2 instead of a fund balance of $136 after sale of our egift card... so our ordeal isn't over yet! SO BEWARE: BUY/SELL YOUR GIFT CARDS FROM ANY SELLER OTHER THAN "RAISE.COM"
"I purchased $200 PF Changs gift card and used some amount immediately while had some balance remaining. When I returned to PF chang's 6 months later, the balance disappeared and I ended up loosing the balance on the card. The customer service is horrible. They don; t really do anything to help but provide with a $10 reward! I am never purchasing again from them and will pass on the word to my friends and family so everyone is aware of what they are getting into!"
In the past two months I have received two gift cards from Raise that had a zero balance when I attempted to use them. I called the restaurant who initially sold the first card & was told the payment had been cancelled by the buyer. Even though it was a little more than 100 days, Raise issued me a full credit. The most recent was a Smashburger $100 card. When I called them, they said a hold had been put on the funds. I called Raise & Trent said they had given me the credit the first time as a courtesy & offered me just a $15 credit. I told them that would be unnecessary as I would discontinue purchasing from them. There was no response. I e-mailed their customer service & am still awaiting a reply.
I had no issue getting refund when my gift card turned out to have a $0 balance - of course I figured out there wasn't any money on it AFTER I'd eaten a meal and planned on paying for it with said gift card. Jerry was very friendly and I really loved not having to wait on hold forever, which is what I feel is happening with every other customer service line. Thanks for the great service!
Answer: I had a problem with the lowes gift cards i purchased from Raise as they did not work at lowes. It took upwards of 10 calls and over 3 months before I received my over $700 back. I will never buy anything on Raise again
Answer: People should unite and file a class action lawsuit against these guys, any attorneys reading this?
Answer: You check the balance on the business' website. For instance, if you have a McDonald's gift card, go to McDonald's website to check the card balance.
Answer: The usual issue is that someone will buy a gift card with a stolen credit card and then sell it to Raise (or others) for cash. Usually within 100 days the gift card issuer will find out when they have been charged back for the stolen card purchase, at which point they invalidate the card and zero the balance. Raise.com will refund you the unused balance on the card prior to it being zeroed out, but only within 60 days of your order. Their short protection policy limits their exposure if a high value card is invalidated and you come looking for a refund three months after you bought it. Every gift card reseller has a different policy for refunds. Some are as short as a few weeks, others last 100 days or more. Raise.com's 60 day policy is shorter than many of their competitors, which is why I don't use them much anymore. The lessons I have learned is only order cards you will use entirely within the next month, never gift them to others, and keep a spreadsheet if you order a lot of cards so you can keep track of balances. In all, I've had about 3% of the 200 cards I've ordered suddenly zeroed out. The majority were for improbably large amounts, which is why I now try and order lower value cards. One site suddenly listed 10 $100 gift cards for Jimmy Johns, a sub shop. One has to wonder who would order gift cards like this in the first place, only to put up for resale. It turned out the original buyer used a stolen credit card to buy them all and turned the proceeds into cash. The cards were all zeroed out. I have learned to be suspicious when a large number of high $ value cards in the same amount suddenly go up for sale. So while it may make sense to buy a $100 gift card for Sears, it usually isn't to buy a $100 gift card for Dunkin Donuts.
