After my previous review, I must give another review to this business for eventually allowing me to make a return after I had missed the deadline. They did this after I sent this review and one on their own site. My complaint was that the person I spoke with was very rude and unhelpful... telling me he made exceptions but this wouldn't be one of them... seriously? I was honest from the beginning saying it was totally my fault (missed it by 2 weeks) but was there any recourse? Store credit? Anything? And he was just rude. I am extremely appreciative however, that another customer service person who contacted me after my review finally allowed me to make the return (after agreeing to terms that I will not be allowed to return past the deadline in the future). I will say that 7 days is not a lot of time to work with and I will probably not risk that by ordering from them again. I will not trust myself to make that deadline, therefore, will order elsewhere. I think they have cute dresses (and I am sure that there are those few who are cheating them by wearing then returning who ruin it for the rest of us) but the company should really consider a longer time period in their return policy. They already have a 10% restocking fee and customer pays for shipping... so its a tough return from the beginning.

DO NOT BUY SALE ITEMS

If your dress arrives and does not fit, you are fine AS LONG AS YOU PURCHASED AT FULL PRICE! They will not accept even an an exchange if it was on sale. Bummer-I just needed one size difference. Not a good business practice.

An exchange would normally be done by returning an item and using store credit for the new size, however this cannot be done with a final sale dress. I was looking to buy a dress for my daughter. I'm grateful for most of the honest bad reviews here, so we decided to bring our cash to a shop, and make sure the money is well spend! Gosh, who wants to deal with rude people and all the unnecessary charges for refund? And the worse nightmare for me is to see my daughter don; t get to wear her favorite dress on that night! Or a dress that is NOT RIGHT!

Bad exchange procedure

I bought a dress and It was small, I was told to place a new order, ship the dress and I will be refunded for the first order, what I was refunded is less than what i have originally paid. They applied a restocking fee and dealt with it as A REFUND transactiona not an exchange. If I was told from the begining there will be a fee or their return label is optional I wouldn't have returned the dress and kept it to gift it. In my book the exchange for the same item and same price should be even IN MY BOOK.

I ordered a Homecoming Dress for my daughter. Because it was $99, not much less expensive than average Homecoming dress price, I was expecting it to be decent. The dress was crap. I've seen Halloween costumes for $24.99 that were sewn better. The hem line was crooked and unraveling as if it wasn't finished. The fit was horrible, about 2 - 3 sizes too big although she wears the ordered size in every other dress.
After reading reviews (I hope you're smarter than me and are reading this BEFORE ordering) I feel lucky to have gotten a refund at all, but it wasn't for the full amount. I paid $17 for expedited shipping, which I didn't really expect to be refunded. But my refund was $81, for a $99 purchse. I'd tell you why but I wasn't given an explanation. Just an email that said "Excellent News! You get $81 back!" While I appreciate their enthusiasm, I hardly considered this news "excellent". I felt like the news was more like "mediocre".
But I digress. Just take your kid to the store and buy her a dress. Spare yourself the headache. Hell hath no fury like a teenager whose perfect dress won't work.

I have always came to this site when ordering a dress online. They do tend to run a tad bit big, at least in all of the dresses I have purchased, but it isn't a big deal. Shipping is always faster than expected and as a dress shopping procrastinator, I can always count on this website to help me find the dress I want and recieve it in time, even when I order a week before the event. Even when I got my prom dress from here and had to return it three times until I had an accurate size, I was always pleased, and they are always super helpful. The customer service is great, and I recommend this site to all of my friends.

Ordered a dress according to the posted size chart... dress fits huge in top and still big in other areas. Exchange policy is very short... 7 days. I called after 10 days and they would not even consider exchanging it. Now I have to pay to have alterations when 1 size lower would have worked. I will not order from them again.

I ordered my daughter a homecoming dress in a size XXL ( she wears size 18 which is impossible to find) three days before the day of the dance. I ordered it 7:30am central time. I paid for it to get an overnight delivery and got it 9:30am the next day. The dress was perfect ad the Lady I spoke to on the phone was outstanding. I wish I would have of remembered her name. I will never go anywhere else to order a dress Prom Girl you ROCK! I am a real customer Thanks Tara- Iowa

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES!

Steer clear of this company, I ordered my daughter's dress from them last year and they just charged my account a "VIP" club membership charge! A year later, and under a different name. When I called to find out who was charging my account, I got some call center in the Phillipines. The dress was fine and we had a favorable impression of this company, but now I will be sure to warn everyone I know with a daughter to NEVER order from these leeches. If you have ordered from them in the past, check your account, you may be in for a surprise.

They would not let me change anything and they said I would be charged shipping and a restocking fee (10%) for the order, coming out to $40! For nothing! STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

Doesn't get any worse than this. The dresses I ordered are extremely low quality and look very cheap. In addition, they came in all wrinkly, and when I tried to return them, I was told that they were not in the original condition. I requested pictures of new orders to prove my point, but with no luck. This is an awful business -- avoid at all costs.

Perfect!

After reading several reviews and being apprehensive, I purchased a dress for my wedding. I could not be happier! The dress shipped the next morning as promised and arrived quickly, without expedited shipping. The quality is excellent and it is the brand I ordered, not a knock off. I tried the dress on in a local retail store and ordered from Promgirl because of the competitive price. It's an exact fit. We all know that when ordering a formal gown, you will likely need to have it altered unless you're tall or have very high heels. So the long length was not a surprise.
The Promgirl website was very clear about which items are final sale, nonreturnable and which aren't. Since purchasing my wedding dress, I have ordered two other dresses. Both are a good quality, cute, and a fit great! You won't go wrong with your purchase from Promgirl!

Never Again

Customer service is horrendous. They would not accept my return because it was past 5 days after receiving it. I was planning on using them for multiple upcoming formal events, however, after dealing with their customer support team, that will not be the case. I worked for an online company and there is no way we would not find some resolution for the customer. Ridiculous. Not worth the money.

Horrible Company

We ordered a dress for my daughter described as sequin. When it came in the mail it was filled with what looked to be Christmas tinsel. Most disgusting dress ever and oh course we failed to contact them within the allotted 5 days. This company must know they are a scam and be proud of it charging a 10 percent restocking fee and $8 for return shipping of their falsely advertised products. Christmas tinsel really? Utterly disgusted. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM EVER!

I'm always skeptical of purchasing clothes online because sizing can be so different but I seen this dress (after looking on many other sites) and I had to have it. FYI for any girls who will be attending prom in the future years, NEVER buy your dress from PromGirl.com the quality of the dresses are crap. And they DO NOT stand behind their products. I had spent $475 on my dress and as a result it had 7 holes throughout the seams and the clasps were broken on the back. They offered me as a settlement $39.80 I'm extremely unhappy and don't want to see anyone else have to deal with this as I had to.
Those pictures are one a few. Have a ton of pictures of how many holes this dress had.
