This was my first time purchasing a dress from promgirl.com and I was beyond happy with it! I received SO MANY compliments on my dress, it was perfect! The size was accurate, it was exactly as described and the FREE shipping was super fast! I was very pleased with the discounted price I purchased it for. Yes, I will be returninig to promgirl.com for my next formal dress! *Only negative was the box that my dress arrived in was very small and had a lot of damage to it. I would recommend that the dresses be packed in a more appropriate and sturdier box than what is being used now.*

Great Experience

We ordered a prom dress and received it in perfect condition within a week. The dress is well made and as pictured. We followed the size chart and ordered the size based on the largest measurement and the fit was perfect. The only alterations needed is the length. It is very long to accommodate tall girls. We are very happy!

I normally review websites I'm not familiar with before I purchase anything from them, but my daughter absolutely fell in love with a dress on this site and wanted it for her Senior Prom. I measured her exactly as shown in the video and inputted her measurements into the chart on the website. I ordered the size as they indicated. I also paid for 2 day shipping because it was a month out and in case something was wrong I wanted plenty of time to handle it. The dress arrived in the proper time, but when my daughter tried it on it was extremely too big... I mean 4 or 5 sizes too big. I immediately got online and contacted them about a refund. I was not about to risk a store credit only to receive another dress that was the wrong size. I also did not feel I should pay a restocking fee when obviously their sizing is way off. The CS rep said I could send it back and they would either give me a full refund, if it was found to not be the right size as indicated or would deduct the $8 shipping, but would waive the restocking fee regardless. Of course they didn't give me a full refund and charged me the $8 for shipping, but they also didn't refund the $22 I paid for 2 day shipping to begin with. They took the $8 off the price of the dress not the full price I paid. Do not buy from this company... you won't be happy!

We're sorry to hear your experience wasn't as expected! In regards to size, you will need to compare the measurements to the size chart provided from the designer for each dress. You must consider her body type and the style of the dress. The size chart will highlight where each measurement falls on the chart but it is merely a guide to assist you in selecting the size that is best for you. Unfortunately the customer would be responsible for the return shipping if the dress is not found to be incorrectly sized but we were able to waive the restocking fee as a courtesy. The shipping cost on the original order would have been provided to UPS for the shipment and could not be refunded if it arrived on time and was not defective. We apologize for any inconvenience!

Our dress came quicker than we even anticipated. We were pressed for time because prom was in a week and I think the dress came in 2 business days. The fit was true to size although we had to have the top taken up a little because she had a two piece. No complaints here. I was nervous about ordering online but my 15-yr-old insisted. My 17-yr-old ordered her dress at Dillard's and it took longer to receive it and it was too small. I will use promgirl.com again next year. Thanks for a great experience!

I bought a dress for my daughter for her prom and it doesn't fit well. The dress was purchased in March for the prom in June. PROMGIRL WILL NOT ALLOW FOR AN EXCHANGE OF THE SIZE AND WE ARE STUCK WITH A DRESS THAT DOESN'T FIT. I am not asking for a refund, just to exchange it for a different size! This company is in the business of selling prom dresses online and will not allow for an EXCHANGE unless it is within the 7 day return period. When I contacted customer service, I was told that a "return" and an "exchange" is the same. The return policy on the website is misleading. I was told that there was a "no wear date" of June 1st, which is irrelevant, because the dress was never worn, and still cannot be exchanged. I do not recommend purchasing a dress from this site unless you are willing to risk forfeiting the entire purchase price, tax, and shipping fee. Ridiculous. I have been shopping online since the inception of the internet and have never given a negative review before. The customer service rep hung up on me and refused to take my calls. I will stick to ordering from reputable websites in the future. If I could give this ZERO stars, I would. This company is not interested in repeat sales. Why wouldn't a company care about repeat sales? Google the phone number and you will find that it is the same phone number for SimplyDresses.Com and BelleOftheBallGowns.com among others.

Ordered a dress for my daughter for prom. Read the reviews about sizing before ordering. The initial email told us the dress would be delivered a week before the prom but after reading reviews about delivery decided to risk it. Dress came within 2 weeks (long before the prom deadline) and it fit her perfectly... only going to need it shortened a little. Good quality, looked just like the pictures. Everyone who has seen it has thought it was beautiful.

I ordered my prom dress from promgirl 2 months ago and received it only yesterday, the expected shipping date went from the next day (when I first ordered it) to being delayed 5 times with no explain action. Other than that no issues, the dress came in perfect. It was exactly like I tried it on in a different dress store, and was a real jovani dress.

Dress was no make in America being it was very cheaply made and zipper was the zipper you would put on an infants dress. Not a a prom gown. It kept snagging but we finally got it up. Less than 30 minutes before we are supposed to leave for the prom the whole zipper broker we tried over an hour to get it fixed. No such luck daughter was in tears but had no other options we finally got is up enough to cover her butt. So she had to wear it like that to the prom... i want a full refund and i hope this help at least a few people... DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. THEY WILL NOT MAKE IT RIGHT!

I purchased a prom dress for my daughter. Dress is gorgeous, however the measurement tool that is on the site is extremely inaccurate and as a result I ordered a 6 base on my daughters measurement she was between a 4 and 6. I received the dress and this was not a true 6. The dress I order was a Final Sale/No Returns. I called the company and explained the situation to a very un-sympatric customer service rep. She explained that it was a non return item, I then explained that I don't want to return the dress I just want to exchange it for the bigger size that was available. The "Return/Exchange" Policy is very misleading. However the rep advised that under "certain" situation they can make an exception, and she would have to reach out to a supervisor for help. Needless to say the Supervisor advise that she cannot do anything to assist me. "Once a dress is sold it cannot be returned and put back into the system" REALLY? That is the most ridiculous return protocol I have ever heard off. Anyway what really made me most upset is the attitude of both the rep and supervisor. If this is what they define as good customer service, I would hate to see this company on a bad day. 100% customer satisfaction, I think NOT! Bye Promgirl!

The size charts are provided by the designer of the dress and are to be used as a guide to help you select the correct size. Unfortunately if the item is marked "Final Sale-No Returns" we are not able to accept it back as it will be discontinued from our site. On the dress page it states: "This item is final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged." An exchange would normally be done by returning an item and using store credit for the new size, however this cannot be done with a final sale dress. I competed in a pageant this past January with a dress I ordered from Promgirl. It came on time and my dress was great. I am short and so my mom had to fix it a little but that's not the company or website's fault. A lot of people loved my dress and while this was my first time ordering from there, I really do believe PromGirl is not a scam. Seconds after ordering, I got an email from google saying they would protect my purchase if anything happened. I felt safe the whole time. :D

Promgirl never even answered my email about returning two out of three dresses purchased. Did not even open box within 7 days because I was away, and never dreamed they would have such a restrictive policy. It is most certainly still prom season-two months or more to go-and I am sure they could still sell the dress. All other stores of this nature have much more liberal and fair return policies. I was aware of the exorbitant restocking fee, which in itself is robbery, but not being able to return the dresses at all is ridiculous. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE! I just threw away $300 for two poorly made dresses that no one will ever be able to wear. I will report them to the Better Business Bureau for their unfair policies and lack of customer service.

I got my dress yesterday and I must say for the price that I paid I expected that the quality should be good. However, the dress looks cheap and the measurement is not accurate. It was not to true size and the company's return/exchange policy is horrible. Don't waste your time!

The quality of the dress was disguisting - about as thin as a paper towel. On top of that, they only give 7 days to return the item. I will never shop from this company again!

I ordered a gown from here months ago for a military ball. It was a final sale dress so I was taking a chance, but it ended up fitting and looked gorgeous for under $150. I plan on buying a simple white dress for my elopement soon as I loved the whole promgirl experience. My dress fit so well and shipped very quickly. The packaging of the dress even made me happy. Ordering such expensive dresses online is risky because you can't try them on before you pay for them, but if you're willing to take that risk, promgirl is a great website.

Some of the 1 star reviews on here are ridiculous. You need to read all the policies before you pick out a dress. If you get pay for three day shipping, it means three business days like 99% of other online sellers. If you pick out a final sale dress like I did, it's a big gamble but that isn't promgirl's fault. If the dress looks to be a different shade than what is offered, maybe your computer screen is off or the designer's pictures are adjusted by the designer. Promgirl isn't the manufacturer so it isn't their fault if a dress looks different. They sell authentic dresses from designers and they often have the absolute best prices from what I've seen. Do your research and figure out if you're okay with their policies. Don't complain if you don't look at their return policies and then are shocked when 10% of your refund isn't given back due to restocking fees.

I ordered a prom dress for my daughter in June. Although the dress was extremely long, it fit beautifully. I got the dress within the same week as I ordered. I took the dress to a tailor and had her cut a couple inches off. It says clearly that the dress is made for someone of a higher height. Maybe they did this on purpose. Maybe not. My experience was great. Will definately be ordering from PromGirl.com again. Can't wait for next June for the next prom. This is NOT my only review. I don't discriminate. I can provide pictures of how the dress git my daughter for anyone who wants to see a Real person wearing it.

I ordered from this company based on the fact that they blast "free returns" all over thier website. Thinking I could just return the dress if it didn't fit. The dress didn't end up fitting and when I returned it they charged me a hefty 10% restocking fee for something that was brand spanking new. For a dress that's $240, that's a $44 restocking fee. Absolutely ridiculous! And they actually deduct shipping from you too. Don't buy from this company. They r just getting rich off restocking fees and bad business practice.

Also, they don't keep track of inventory... I ordered a dress from them & they called me back to tell me it wasn't in stock. They take money without it even being in stock.

In regards to our stock, we keep the site as up to date as possible. We are an online based business so many orders can be placed at the same time. After you place your order, your credit card company will place a hold on the funds for the amount of the order to validate your credit card. Normally your account is not charged until the order ships, however if the item you ordered is a special order item your credit card may be charged within 3 days of placing the order depending on the ship date the manufacture provides. In the event that the item you ordered becomes unavailable, you will receive a refund in full for the unavailable product or all the funds would be released back to you if they are still only on hold. If a store credit was used to make your purchase your store credit will be reinstated. We apologize for any confusion!
