Avoid my builder and rated people. They do not care if you get a trusted tradesmen as long as they get their commission on job leads. You could get a cowboy tradesmen and if your a good honest reliable and trustworthy tradesmen you can also fall foul of online fake advertising magazines. These include community first RC media who publish a fake crime prevention magazine and ask for payment for a magazine that is never distributed. I received 1 copy along with an invoice for £234. This is online publication fraud. I spoke to trading standards and they advised me about this scam. My details were passed on through my builder.
I've just started using my builder as tradesmen and the system as far as I can see it is flawed, it works on the basis of shortlisting the engineers (in my case) to use an example 5 engineers bid for a job to install a boiler, If you're shortlisted you are charged £20-00 + vat but? This is the catch, the customer in this instance didn't know how the system worked and just shortlists everyone even though 4 of those engineers won't get the job and they will all be charged the figure mentioned above.
Now to examine the definition of a shortlist, how can the same amount of people shortlisted be the same as the amount of people who have applied for the job? Doesn't that contradict the term shortlisted as it means less than the original, but you give the client opportunity to select everyone, when in reality the client should only be given the chance to choose a percentage of applicants.
If you went for a job interview and you were shortlisted it doesn't mean the other 100 applicants got through? Does it!
At the moment you're are running an unbalanced system and you're getting away with it, which is why I personally will take this up with trading standards.
Highly reccomend Direct Property Maintenance, job well done and very quick and very good price. Good father and son team.
I can't see how they can have unqualified electricians on their site, there must be no vetting process at all. I stupidly went with lowest quote, and the person hired couldn't give me a certificate afterwards, lot of dodging the question, and eventually gave me a certificate which proved to be fraudulent.
I strongly encourage anyone using this service to carry out their own checks on the contractors first.
After Storm Erik devastated my fence I contacted MyBuilder and through them, T&N home improvements of Skipton, who responded promptly and offered advice before we settled on the type of fencing needed. They turned up on time and completed the job to my satisfaction, including carrying out other minor tasks as part of the job voluntarily. Excellent service,
Today e. A landscapes came and fitted me a 6ft fence and gate, cut down 2 trees and took them away, excellent service, left no mess, polite and have done another quote for driveway later on the year. Elijah was fab
I got in touch with someone through MyBuilder who had no intention of appointing my services. When I touched base with her soon after being shortlisted (next working day) I was told that her husband had already appointed someone the night before (appointed, not just shortlisted). I had no opportunity to even quote for the project or meet with the clients but had to pay a £20 shortlist fee. MyBuilder said in their terms and conditions that you can dispute a shortlist fee but the customer must have messaged you through MyBuilder at the same time they shortlisted you to qualify. I had asked the lady to message me so that I could get my money back for the shortlist fee, which she did. But MyBuilder said she had to have sent the message WITHIN 10 MINUTES of being shortlisted for a refund. Nothing about that 10 minute deadline in their terms and conditions. They argued with me continuously so much that it must have cost them more to argue it out than it would have done just to refund the money. I am not happy about their customer service and I never did get my money back.
They post fake jobs on there website whitch they get paid A lot of money for I paid 35 pound for a job that dint even exist and 3 other people were shortlisted so they made 100 pounds for a job whitch was fake I did my research and the people posting the job never even had a job to be done
MyBuilder is unwilling to take down unfair, fake feedback from clients who use this as a tool to get out of paying tradesmen. The very tradesmen who earn them their money! Consequently, the better tradesmen use other sites not MyBuilder
Inevitably suresome people have bad experiences with bad tradesman, not everyone works to the highest standard and if this happens I can see that it is hard for Mybuilder to prevent this happening. That said some trades are victims of bad customers. My builder takes significant commission from tradesman to get jobs(multiple tradesman pay for the same job and they dont like the public to know this). They however refuse to support the people who pay them when there is a dispute not matter how small. This company like all online trade finding sites need to be regulated and shut down if they continue to fail in their responsibilities. Both public looking for trades and tradesman should steer well clear of all lof these sites.
It is my experience That my builder is a company that is solely interested In getting larger amounts of money Out of honest tradespeople, The systems are set up for greed only, they have no interest in you as a business And they do not supply any support. Please be warned my builder is not what it pretends to be. The founder Ryan Is on an ego trip And refers to himself as CEO
Review as a Tradesman! Terrible cleaning company. Say they offer leads well after being shortlisted for several Jobs I accessed Two Quotes which I payed for too be Cold by the Client the jobs were completed 2 Months prior? I contacts Mybuiler and my reply was it's A lead! But how can it be a lead when you advertised it on the 2nd of Dec yet the job was completed Oct. This is Fraudulent Scamming B...
From our past two experiences with a roofing contractor and bathroom installer through MyBuilder.com, this website allows potential crooks to quote for jobs and, when engaged, can be found guilty of practices contravening Consumer Protection of 2008 and Consumer Right Act 2016. This can cause customers to be left with unprofessional workmanship which must then be rectified by another contractor causing distress and further expense. Why are traders allowed to use the website without any form of vetting. Totally unacceptable.
My Builder.com is a fantastic tool. I have found My Builder to be a terrific site, I have used My Builder on three occasions and each time the jobs have been completed to a high standard.
So I have no hesitation in highly recommending the site.
We hired someone we thought was good because we believed the reviews about him and his 5 star rating. He didn't do the job and basically stole our money. We thought we'd be safe hiring through mybuilder. Money down the drain and we have to find and pay someone else now.
ECO2 Windows and Doors are useless.
Will not return telephone calls or answer questions left on their website.
Perhaps they have gone out of business!
Used My Builder recently relying on their professional recommendations with vetted professional tradesmen was found not to be true. The experience received from My builder after sending a complaint with their recommended Builder was appalling no feed to answer complaint has been received to justify the builders non professional skill and honesty to full fill quoted work in a trust worthy manor. After finding out other customers have also been effected with the same builder am surprised this builder is still recommended to gain further work. This review has been written to safe guard other clients trusting My Builder for honest tradesmen
I joined my guider a couple of years ago and have found it fantastic as have many of my colleagues the trouble with a lot of the one star reviews I'm reading are by people who pay for a lead and don't get the job, well guys all I can say is that you must have either been too dear or didn't make a good impression.
I don't get all of the jobs I go for, that's business I'm afraid.
Got shortlisted for a job, so paid my builder. Went to quote, got job, arranged price, told customer on the day that i was running a bit late, got to the house, no answer, rang and rang, no answer, knocked and knocked, no answer. Went home, 2-3 days work lost, still no replies from texts and calls and voicemails... mybuilder say i dont qualify for my shortlist fee to be refunded.
Answer: From what I gather they just check. Insurances! No qualifications or registration checks at all!
Answer: Hi Mitsy, the service is completely free for homeowners.
Answer: Well you can always try, in anyway they would remove your reviews as they did mine. Depend which trader though! Some of them seems to be more protected than others...
