It is best to do a manual update to Win10. It is painless and straight forward for any activated Win PC. But there will come a time when you encounter problems and Micrsoft or any "gurus" that sprung up like mushrooms within a day or 2 of the official release advised to "reset". Even if you have to reset select "maintain your existing file" rather than "clear the existing apps, settings, files". I am talking through experience here where my keyboard/mouse/USB drivers are not loaded after Win10 reset, therefore leaving me stuck staring at the "lock screen". I can do a format and reinstall Win10 with the risk of not getting the copy of Win10 not activated. Because the Serial number of Win10 is a generic number from my Win PC, I had checked on my 1- Win7 (same number), 3- Win8.1 (same number) except the product ID is different. These number cannot be used as "your own" copy serial number. Whatever you DO NOT RESET your Win10 (bcoz any marginal compatible/updated drivers) will be deleted. So now I have to down grade back to my previous Win 7 Ultimate version update all the drivers back and do a manual update to Win 10 again after Win7 is activated.(Fingers crossed)
They do nothing to help you just send you to a robot because they're company does not care anymore. They are $#*! and underpay all workers.
I had worked on a school assignment for multiple hours, word crashes, gone. Useless $#*! $#*!ing program
Microsoft creates very useful operating systems and software. It brings great convenient for modern office work.
I worry about a company whose support team can't even get your name right, when replying to an email,
Microsoft is losing credibility with office users due to being far too focused on Marketing, looking for ways to excite people ending up forcing end users to waste time searching how to do an action that they have been doing for years only to find you changed it, i.e. Forcing a File Explorer Right side panel on users with an update. There is no correct direction on how to remove the panel eating up large part of UI. It effects productivity and is redundant. Users can do as we have always done by clicking View > L,M, S icons - this is happening with each and every app. 365 is same as Citrix, which BOMBED due to connectivity. Yes it's less expensive than having app's on premise but it negatively effects performance (connectivity), and efficiency. If you want us to use a browser to access word processor and all other office app's, it only entices us to easily pivot to other platforms like Google Docs.
Scrap Marketing "ideas" and stick with Stability, Efficency, Simplicity. Hiring people who focus on pie in the sky revenue is pushing the public to other platforms, because we do not to like to waste time with continuous ramp up on app's we're very familiar with and you keep changing.
Also, please hire Professional Technical Writers. Too many Microsoft Technical Writers do not know how to respond appropriately to the public questions, and you don't remove information that is outdated on sites. Might be good to hire a project manager specifically for each organization that uploads information so it can be updated and/or removed. Looks so unprofessional to have multiple old responses that are no longer valid. Yes, it's more Overhead costs, but it's such a responsible thing to do, which equates to great PR.
Thank you guys so so much for saving are lives but just us the tiktok community. Much love go towards y'all.
Wow! I've been dealing with Microsoft customer service since I received my new Surface laptop i7,8 GB, 256 five days ago. The A button and arc mouse doesn't work so I spend 2 hours on the phone with tech support within 2 hours of receiving my item. They weren't any help and had me do a factory restart (which was silly as it was already factory) and promised me it would work. So i spent all that time doing that then when I restarted it was absolutley no different. So phoned them back and was on the phone for another 1.5 hours for an exchange. They preceded to tell me to send back this new item and they would send me out a new one. Not enough time for my son to get it before he goes to college so then i had them process a return for a refund. Should of got an email within 24 hours of this process as they assured me that is what would happen. I've been waiting for 4 days for this email to come. I've phoned them twice about it and they keep saying wait 24 more hours. Getting very frustrated! Funny how when i was going to do an exchange I got the shipping label email within 30 seconds but when it was changed to a return for refund it is taking a decade. Also the fact that when you phone customer service it is a country where you can hardly understand the language. The worst experience I've had with computer customer service and will probably never buy another microsoft product because of this experience. I understand you can just get a lemon sometimes but dealing with their customer service made it much worse. Buyer beware! Or go to an actual dealer or store to purchase the item as then you can return it. I don't have that option as the closed Microsoft store is 10 hours away from me.
My password is not working I have to jump through hoops and pay to get it nack, why can I not just talk to someone, this is bad business!
Microsoft has the worst and most complicated applications. Even when sigining app is so complicated Microsoft is bull$#*! useless pieces of $#*!
A guy repeatedly harassed me over a loss so when i called him a pedo he reported after calling me numerous slurs.
The worst experience ever!
I had renewed my subscription to microsoft office and when I went to access it, I had major issues.
It asked me for a two step verification and it sent me the code via text but when it asked me for the email verification code I could not get it because I could not receive the email, it wasn't sending me an email...
So, I called support and even the support team after getting control of my laptop tried several times to send me the email and finally it said I tried verification too many times and I would have to wait until the next day to access it.
So, I tried the day after and the same thing happened and not one support team member could hep me.
Right now I'm waiting on the phone for a supervisor and the connection is bad, I can't hear the Supervisor.
I have not been able to work for three days because I can't access word on my laptop.
It's very frustrating. And THEY have an attitude!
So after explaining my situation to a supervisor they disconnected me. They called back and the connection was so bad they tried calling me back 4 times and every time the connection was so bad I couldn't understand them. WORST EVER CUSTOMER SERVICE. AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE! Wasted 69.99 If there were any other option I would definately NOT Use them EVER!
Thank you for buying tiktok, it means a lot to all of us Americans. Once again thank you so so much.

Microsoft trying to rip people off by demanding only $1 FOR NOTHING! Thieves and robbers! Blocked my skype to rip out 1$?
Microsoft doesn't save movies! Doesn't load movie's purchased they suck tmthey suck!and the app doesn't load don't waste you're money! They suck!
Answer: Scam for sure. If you cancel a subscription they will not refund you under any circumstances. I can't stand this company
Answer: Prohibit updates so they cannot mess up your machine by going to services and disabling the service for updates listed. Don't forget to disable all the repair service thingys too. Hope that MS will not against your will and knowledge STILL inject code into your system or further hack you.
Answer: Well my first impression is I'm surprised you say you have a college degree. You didn't mention if it's a BA, or BFA, but either degree requires the ability to spell and use grammar correctly. This isn't a school room, but for a college grad to post their thoughts on a public forum that is at a high school level is (if you are a college grad), a sad commentary on our educational system. As for Microsoft being garbage, I do agree. It started out great and Gates encouraged employees to think outside the box, try EVERYTHING and give the product's organization feedback, which made the company number 1 with office software. But, starting with Steve telling employees it's a "terminable" offense to have a Rim phone, makes no sense. But that's the philosophy now, under no circumstances Challenge our products. Don't give us feedback on our app's, just tell us they are better than anyone else's! I remember when MSN pushed Microsoft employees to go to their internal site that has MSN on one side of the UI and Google.com on the other side. The purpose was to CHALLENGE MSN. Try both together then forward your thoughts. The intent was 1. Let Microsoft know where MSN lacks so that 2. They could make it GREAT. Unfortunately, many versions later MSN didn't figure out how to make an awesome search engine and Google is still the King, but that's how Microsoft became great, Challenging their products. Now they're really losing credibility and the public is pivoting to Apple and Open Source.
