Maxsold exhibits a mixed reputation, with positive feedback highlighting efficient communication, smooth auction processes, and satisfactory customer experiences for both buyers and sellers. Many users appreciate the value they find in auctions and commend the professionalism of the staff. However, significant concerns arise regarding misrepresentation of items, lost goods, and communication issues, particularly during pickups. Customers also express dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and the company's response to service failures. Overall, while Maxsold has a solid base of satisfied users, addressing operational shortcomings and enhancing customer support could improve their reputation further.

Its ebay meets garage sales meets antiques roadshow etc. A perfect way to get to know people in the area, while buying and bidding for quality things at competitive prices.
The Maxsold representatives that cataloged the auction did a great job and they were very patient explaining what they were doing. At the end, pick-up went very smooth and again, the Maxsold representative were very personable and helpful.
I had to clear my fathers home when he moved. As he was out of town kijiji just wasnt an option. Besides it would be time consuming and tedious. MaxSold came in one day and efficiently staged, photographed, catalogued and posted online all of his items. Two weeks later they came back and supervised the pick up and I was paid in a timely fashion. I couldnt have been easier and I realized a nice profit
Maxsold is an outstanding outfit. The two ladies that came to our home to catalog our possessions were very personable and professional. They spent several hours organizing, measuring, photographing and describing the items for sale.
The online auction website presentation is excellent as is the bidding process. They returned on pickup day to supervise and all went very smoothly. I highly recommend Maxsold to dispose of unneeded items when downsizing or liquidating an estate.
Honesty best online auction I've come across. Easy, Transparent bidding, and great service. Always really good items as well!
So far we have had wonderful success with maxsold. Nice people, easy to find, easy to use website. We have only been a buyer and not a seller.
Maxsold has been a godsend to our family! We are restoring a historic home and it has allowed us to furnish the home at a price we can afford. Thanks maxsold!
I was introduced to MaxSold by a friend
It is an auction site that helps many people downsizing or moving
I have participated in, and won, several different auction thru Maxsold. Each time the item was exactly as described, and pick up was a breeze.
Love Maxsold!
I enjoy just browsing the products. They are super easy to bid and pick up was an ease also! Thanks Maxsold
MaxSold is an incredible resource for antiques, collectibles, art, furniture and just about anything else you can think of! Easy to sign up and bid. Streamlined pickups with knowledgeable, friendly staff.
I have helped many friends fresh out of college get started with nice furnishings. The people there are always super nice and friendly. It never fails, I'm a very satisfied frequent buyer.
We had a downsizing sale and prior to this my wife and I thought we could tackle my parents lifetime of buying and collecting. So wrong - met a fantastic rep named Kelley G at a networking event. A few months later her team showed up, catalogued everything quickly and efficiently over 2 days. Had the sale a week later and cleaned house. The extra cash was a bonus. Great job guys!
I have used maxsold on many occasions and have always found items as described and shown. They are organized for pick up. I would recommend highly.
After I used MaxSold`s seller managed auction services, I fell in love with the platform, ease of use, in built marketing, traffic, fast professsional support, and most importantly, the results! So much in fact, I closed my Etsy shop and now resell solely thru their platform. After 2 auctions that took a total of 2 weeks to complete, from start to finish, we had sold the same amount in sales that had taken us a year and 3 months to sell on Etsy. Powerful and 100%true! Thank u Maxsold. I am excited about selling online again!
I love MaxSold - I think the idea behind it is great! No more worrying if you are going to have people show up to your sale. No worrying if its going to rain, etc. - I've never sold with them but if I needed the service I'm glad to know about it! I love the shopping process and I think the fees are fair! I've purchased from 3 auctions now and can't wait to keep on shopping!
I've been buying from Maxsold for about 3 year. I resale some items, but some I keep. Because I am able to get treasures at such good prices, I am able to make a small profit on them. But some I just can't give up. So I may just be funding my habit. I'm not complaining!
First off, the painters were working in another room, not where the merchandise was located by the time the buyers showed up. I expected minor damage to doors, trim that sort of thing. But when one of the buyers, an older gentleman of large build, became exhausted carrying furniture out by himself and fell down the stairs and thru a wall, your folks were clearly not keeping their eye on the ball. Of course, I had hope of being reimbursed for the $550 in damage when Cesar, your rep,, told me that he was asking the guy who fell to pay the bill, as your buyer contract says he will. Did the guy pay MaxSold and I just never heard?
You own people told me that they thought the pickup process at my home was total chaos! We had about 100 giraffe art objects to sell, your folks split them into two groups, never counted how many were in each group and left them next to each other. Second buyer got shortchanged of course. My friend bid on a bronze art piece, won the thing that weighs about 20 lbs, and I personally saw it the morning of the pick up. Where did it go? Not with me! MaxSold had I think 5 people there for the pickup, I think there were 10-15 buyers there at any time roaming around looking at stuff like it was black friday at the Walmart clearance table. And about the $2000 that your folks forgot to mention? Which of the MaxSold people was standing at the front door to make sure nobody left with more than they paid for? NOBODY!
I run out of fingers counting the reasons to avoid this company:
- They never told me about the $2000 setup fee that showed up at the end
- Their people who did the initial catalogue did not include each piece but rather grouped things
- When the buyers picked things up, the MaxSold people gave the wrong thing to the wrong people, cost me a lot of lost money
- Maxsold never told me about the 1% they charge the buyers on top of the 3% they charged me
- The buyers made a mess of my house, the MaxSold people just let them go at it
- When I asked MaxSold to have the buyer who did the most damage to my house, they just ignored me despite the buyer contract saying the buyers were responsible
If I had spent the effort to use ebay and craigslist probably would have been quicker, and made $6000 instead of $2500.
I have purchased items from five auctions so far. Some of the items are kept with the majority resold. I have frequented hundreds of traditional auctions, estate sales, and participated in various online auctions. After purchasing $900 in items from a Maxsold auction in Orlando, I chatted with one of the employees on pickup day. He mentioned how he and his dad were bidding on many of the same items. I was a bit surprised, but he said, as an employee, he was able to bid just as anyone else. To me, this brings up the ethical debate. To me, it is no different than shill bidding. I have been to many on site auctions where workers bid, but will bow out as soon as someone in the crowd out bids them. It just makes one wonder if they are bidding to win, or, bidding to maximize the bottom line.
Never disappointed with any of my MaxSold Auction wins. Great Staff who are helpful & professional. Have been using MaxSold for several years & always look forward to the newest Auctions online.
Answer: The site states clearly that you must pick up your article at the specific time and place. If you cannot do that or arrange for someone to do it for you... then don't bid.
Answer: Definitely not on their youtube channel as they've removed the ability to comment. This alone was enough for me to steer clear.
Answer: Please see our past auction results at http://maxsold.com/past-auctions/ - every auction we've done is listed for public viewing. You will see the sell through rate for each auction, and you can calculate the percent sold. Our average sell through is 98.7%.
Answer: Winning bids are charged to the credit card on file right AFTER each auction ends, along with 10% buyers premium and the applicable retail sales tax for your region. The first time you bid at any of our auctions, your card will be pre-authorized for $1.00. However, it is only a bank authorization for validation, not a charge, and it is usually removed in about a week by your bank.
Answer: Hi Peter, We found that when minimum bids or reserves are put on items, they typically go unsold. For more information on why we start our items at $1 check out this link: http://maxsold.com/reserve Here are some Seller FAQ's https://support.maxsold.com/hc/en-us/sections/200632154-Seller-FAQs You may also reach out to our sales team directly at our toll-free number 1-877-257-7799 ext 2. Answer: $700 + 30% if they do the photos and pick-up. If you do the work on your side it is $300 or 30% whatever is higher. It is near the bottom of this link. https://get.maxsold.com/sell-with-maxsold/
MaxSold.com online auctions provides local expert help to sell goods through our hyper-local online auction service when downsizing, estate sale or clearing business inventory.
We aren’t sure what this user is referring to when then say "kept with the majority resold" as Maxsold does not keep items or resell them (we have no warehouses or logistics operations to move inventory). Maxsold sells items from the Seller’s home as part of a downsize or estate sale while allowing family to keep the items they hold most dear and having Maxsold sell the remainder through a transparent online auction where the highest bidder wins. Maxsold spends none of it's time or money on bidding / influencing prices other than to market the goods. If a team member bids, they do so with their own money and under the same rules as any other bidder with no access to back-end bidding information. For proof, you need only look what’s left after an auction is over - 98% on average is sold and removed by the buyers (not Maxsold). Maxsold conducts no auctions on behalf of itself - the inventory sold is always a 3rd party seller, selling from their location. We take our position about unreserved to the highest bidder extremely seriously and are able to share anonymous bid information with bidders (or sellers) that have concerns about bids.
MaxSold continues to reinvest all funds made in the pursuit of its vision of providing access to a downsizing or estate sale to any customer that wants one (http://maxsold.com/maxsold-purpose/).
