We love going to garage sales, but we're looking for something a little different. We stumbled onto Maxsold looking for Estate sales or auctions to attend. We weren't sure how online auctions would work, but pretty quickly we fell in love with it! We found some much great stuff and at such great prices! We've found stuff from our childhood or stuff that our grandparents had. Even some unusual items like a marionette. And the pick up process has been easy and friendly. We love it so much we've been telling everyone.
I've participated in several auctions as a buyer & have been pleased overall with my purchases & their pleasant staff. My only problem is that I get carried away w/bidding at times, lol.

Maxsold is a wonderful, low traffic, online local auction you can find plenty of cool things for cheap. I do wish they had shipping/delivery services, or at least hire sime muscle to help put things in my car because i'm a small personbut i suppose you can use lugg for that (use my referral code L******* for $10 off). Overall it's fantastic! For example, i attached a photo of a sweet lamp and a desk i got for a good deal :)

Everything is well organized, faultless running and never had any problems with bidding. The only thing is when you miss pickup time - you loose money and goods, no one will hold them for you.

Much easier to clean out the house this way, rather than trying to sell each piece using other online or social media tools that leave you doing all the work.
I have used MaxSold several times to score many incredible deals on all kinds of great stuff; tools, toys, books, home decor, fantastic art, hardware and RECORDS. The staff at the pick up locations has always been fantastic. Extremely polite and helpful. I can't say enough about my local crew(s) (Philadelphia area). Estate sales can be a little uncomfortable sometimes with being in some ones home and trying to get the best deal. The auction format and friendly staff eliminates any of those worries. I would recommend MaxSold to anyone.
IT'S A LOT OF WORK BUT IT WAS ALSO A LOT OF FUN AND I MADE A LOT OF ROOM MET SOME VERY NICE PEOPLE AND IM WORKING ON ANOTHER SALE. A GREAT WAY TO TURN OVER THINGS ONE DOESNT NEED ANYMORE.
Was a regular customer had a few problems but let them pass. The final straw was that I bought items marked antique with normal wear and tear for its age boy THAT WAS A MISTAKE! Their idea of wear was the first items were 12 plates one was glued together and every plate was scratched! Then a royal Doulton figurine with a 3 inch split up the side these were nicely wrapped when picked up. They told me I was negligent for not ripping apart their heavy tape and bubble wrap on the spot and inspecting it first. Was booted off the site because I asked for my monies back which 3 days later I am still waiting for BUYER BEWARE!

I have been enjoying MaxSold for almost two years now, and my experience with each and every auction has been excellent. By using a credit card up front, there's no hassle with pickup! The staff has always been so friendly and helpful, and so professional. By having different pickup times for each of the items, waiting in line to get to my items has never been a problem, even when I have items in all three designated pickup times! I have gotten some really great buys through these auctions and plan to continue to "shopping until I drop" with them! I highly recommend MaxSold!

You can really find some good deals at all of the different auctions. I usually only bid on items that are within 25 miles of my home, but if I see something good, which is all the time, I will go anywhere. The bidding process is super easy and pickup is usually on a Saturday or Sunday morning to afternoon.
I have purchased from a number of auctions and have found the Maxsold employees to be professional, friendly, and helpful. It is very easy to bid. When it is a seller managed auction there is a greater chance of waiting as the seller has opted to handle the sale themselves. The one seller managed auction was hard to find and not organized the way other sites were. I have gotten great deals on high end furniture. You have to read the information for the lot "as is" means they have not dusted or cleaned the items and they might have defects or be missing pieces. If the items says "heavy bring help" it means you have to bring muscle with you. It is also the consumer's responsibility to read the rules of bidding and pick up. Some of the items I have purchased from estate sales were dusty or needed cleaning but I could see that when bidding based on the pictures. You have to be a savvy consumer.
I have made a few purchases and with each and every one, the bidding, transaction and pick up were all superb! They make the process so easy.

It's disappointing that we provided this customer an unsatisfactory experience. My review of this person's invoices is that the refund requested has been executed and may take up to 14 business days for their credit card company to recognize our return of funds (though it is available on their invoice for review). Although requests made after pickup are considered on a case by case basis (as they are outside the agreed to terms and conditions of bidding noted below), we are committed to being fair to all our customers.

Maxsold has two models - Maxsold Managed and Seller Managed. In one offering Maxsold is never on site and therefore has no visibility of the items sold. In the other, our teams catalog and thus have a bit more awareness of the items. That said, regardless of who is cataloging, both honest mistakes and dishonest actions can occur - thus, Maxsold uses a transparent claims process that has worked for centuries in the live auction world - specifically, the buyer can inspect the item in full view of the auction staff, other buyers (and sometimes the Seller) and make a claim (partial/full refund) if the item is found to be in a condition other than what was described before leaving the site. In both models, the process is the same and is outlined in the bidder terms (www.maxsold.com/terms) and on the buyer invoice:
CLAIMS: ENSURE YOU INSPECT items at pickup (and preview if available) and IMMEDIATELY inform the MaxSold team (or Seller if Seller Managed) of any issues related to mis-cataloging of condition (remembering that you are purchasing used items in AS IS WHERE IS condition). By departing from the pickup site you acknowledge that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them and/or have brought up issues with the Lead on site. NO CLAIMS ARE PERMITTED AFTER REMOVING ITEMS FROM THE PREMISES as condition issues cannot be validated once items are released into your possession. If required, bring an expert to validate purchases at pickup. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Seller.
