Maxsold exhibits a mixed reputation, with positive feedback highlighting efficient communication, smooth auction processes, and satisfactory customer experiences for both buyers and sellers. Many users appreciate the value they find in auctions and commend the professionalism of the staff. However, significant concerns arise regarding misrepresentation of items, lost goods, and communication issues, particularly during pickups. Customers also express dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and the company's response to service failures. Overall, while Maxsold has a solid base of satisfied users, addressing operational shortcomings and enhancing customer support could improve their reputation further.

Good and efficient team work from maxsold has made it easy to sell. Thank you we are looking forward to working together closely for years to come.
I like all the tools that you offer help me in my work and make my day with quality of life...
I've been having so much fun treasure hunting over the last few years with Maxsold! I love the concept of having auctions run straight from sellers homes so that locations vary. Some are very close by and others make for a fun day trip! I've found all kinds of neat finds. Some for myself, some as gifts for others and some to resell so I can find more treasures! I think the concept that Maxsold has developed is brilliant and I appreciate how organized most of the sales and pickups are.
I like that once you've set up an account and payment method, the website will automatically post the charge -- I don't have to do anything more.
I have purchased from Maxsold 7 times and each time has been great. The bidding process is very straight forward and to the point. Picking up my purchases is very easy. Due to COVID, you must sign up for a pick-up time, but each time, the process has been seamless. I use Maxsold to re-sell, and in each of the 7 times, I have made my money back.
Maxsold provided an amazing experience to help raise funds for our non-profit organization... And because of them, it fully surpassed our expectations!
The team was quick to act, efficient with their time, and flexible to my schedule.
We sold an entire house's worth of items, and it went smoothly and quickly.
I have no complaints!
This was the best. I did not have to do anything and I did not have to trash anything. The ladies were great. The pickup was so organized, it was smooth as silk
That is terrific to hear! We are always so pleased to hear about how great our teams are!
For the 2nd straight auction additional descriptions details for many of my lots were never added after submitting to Maxsold in the requested timeframe. This is either a major flaw in your system or just laziness by the staff to enter the additional very detailed information for many of the lots. Very disappointed.
Their bidding process is not tranparent. You as the seller will get next to nothing. You are better off using Ebay. Real estate agents recommend them.
It's disappointing that this customer had an unsatisfactory experience - should they decide to provide more details on who they are / which auction was theirs we would be happy to follow up with them and attempt to make it right in their eyes. We would be happy to review the situation and attempt to make it right in their eyes. Please feel free to contact us at support@maxsold.com to review your situation.
For others reviewing this, Maxsold does its very best to provide both a detailed outline of our process (www.maxsold.com/sell) and share our past auction data (www.maxsold.com/past) to prepare sellers for the realities of the market when items must be sold.
We can't deny that sites like Craigslist, Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace and eBay are great tools and successful platforms to use when looking to sell a few items.
However, if you are looking to downsize a large number of items, MaxSold has the background and the know-how to make selling the contents of your home a no muss, no fuss process. If you are selling and want the confidence that the job will get done quickly and successfully we are the company for you.
My experience with MaxSold was excellent. From the initial phone call to the pick up day, I found each person to be professional and their system efficient, transparent and timely. I would highly recommend MacSold in the future.

Thank you for the great review of the service you received! We always love to hear from our sellers.
I've been fortunate enough to get a lot of things through auctions that I wouldn't have otherwise been able to find. Great site and great way to find treasures
Discovered Maxsold a few months ago and I have made many pleasant purchases since. 100% happy as a buyer and would definitely consider as a seller.
I was very unhappy with Maxsold. Items were grouped together in large groups putting many expensive items together. At one point they grouped 38 candle sticks as 1 lot. Crystal were grouped with wooden ones as well as with large floor candle holders. Expensive vases and urns were grouped together in large groups until I stepped in and made them break them up.
The groups were entirely too large and made no sense how the grouped them.
The photos where poor quality, some dark, some blurred.
I had 3 6' racks if Christmas items. They put each rack as 1 llot. They did nothing to group thing together that made sense. I did all the work, all they did was take pictures. They were supposed to be there till 6:00 but by 3:00 they said they were finished.
I would NOT recommend anyone using Maxsold... we made very little on the sale and felt the quality and professionalism was not there.
Dear Mira,
We are sorry if we somehow misled you regarding our process, fees and value proposition. We would be happy to review your situation and attempt to make it right in your eyes.
Where other solutions try to control prices while having no control over time of sale, we give the seller control of time while giving up control of price to market competition. For people who have items that will soon cost them to hold onto, this is the most economic (and green) solution to the problem of getting things removed on their timelines (typically for a much larger value proposition such as a closing real estate transaction or avoiding ongoing costs).

Only giving 3 stars because we didn't loose money (which I was nervous about at one point). But there were some major concerns:
1. Many photos that were taken by max sold staff were poor quality and one was even upside down (photo attached). This likely affected the price people were willing to pay. There should be a required standard for this or even a camera provided by max sold.
2. Photos were missed of certain lot items. I asked the team lead to double check because I thought it got missed. They assured me it hadn't. I checked the photos after and sure thing it was missed.
3. They should better explain what is needed for creating "lots". I spent hours organizing only to have them show up and say it's going to cost an additional $50 a person per hour (5 of them were there) for a few hours to organize before they can get started. This was an estate sale for my 50 year old mother who just died. The last thing a client wants to hear is that it's going to cost hundreds of extra dollars, but especially in this situation.
4. There is a missing item that seemed to have gotten picked up with a lot and i have emailed 3 separate email accounts about it and have not heard back.
5. There were lots of smoke breaks and dilly dallying (especially for $50 an hour).
Seems to me that with Estate sale that is more legitimate then Downsizing as owners seem to get involved and bid people up to what price they should get for their merchandise in Downsizing. Beware as I know this has been happening in Maxsold a lot lately!
I chose to use Max Sold because I needed to sell off most of my household belongings including almost all of the furniture in a very short time frame. This worked and the sale was pretty successful. What was not were the two pickup days and the post-sale customer service. The woman in charge of my pickup had a serious attitude problem and became increasingly rude and aggressive towards me because the items were not assembled the way they should have been. I paid one of Max Sold's partners over a thousand dollars to do the organization and listing at the beginning of the process, and when the pickup team arrived, they were not happy with the way things were handled. There was WAY too little time and too few staff assigned for pickup.
In addition, I was promised by my MS rep that the large items would be picked up at the end of the second day to allow pickup of smaller items on table tops and shelves to be picked up first. This was completely false. The very first person to show up had bought a 5-shelf rack full of items. The rep also assured me that the staff on site would make sure no damage was done to the house by those removing furniture. This was also false. Since there wasn't enough staff to monitor the buyers, no one was watching as large pieces of furniture were moved out, causing damage to the walls on two separate occasions.
After the pickup was over, I was unable to get anyone from customer service on the phone regarding the problems. It seemed no one was willing to take my calls. After calling twice per day, every day, I finally got my rep on the phone. He didn't want to hear about the issues with the pickup team, and wanted ME to be the go-between between Max Sold and the rental management company regarding the damages. This process was supposed to make my life easier. It was supposed to all be handled professionally by MS. I had to insist he contact the management company and deal with them directly, which he did.
Then came the sale report and my check. There were FIVE items that were refunded, none of which were discussed with me. I know that four of them were exactly as described and accepted by the buyers upon pickup. The fifth was a printer that was missing a power cord. The buyer researched on his phone a replacement cord and chose to take the printer as-is. Why weren't any of these refunds discussed with me? One was a very expensive stained glass window which was in perfect condition, with the hanging hardware, exactly as described. So the buyer got a beautiful piece of art FOR FREE?!?
To say there were serious bumps in the road is an understatement. My advice is to either do a self-managed sale where you organize the items and handle the pickup, or have them (not a partner) handle the entire process, but NOT while you are trying to pack and move. I'm mostly happy with my check, but this was still WAY more aggravation than it should have been.
As a seller, I was very impressed by the customer service support. All my questions were answered quickly and provided all the information and a step by step guide. The pick-up day went smoothly, with everyone adhering to the COVID pickup guidelines. I would recommend to anyone interested in using their services.
Maxsold is a company that arranged an online auction for whatever you want to get rid of. They did all the work to catalog and photograph your items and organized the pickup. Great for whole households and large numbers of items. Wonderful employees! There is a flat fee and they take 30% of the total.
Answer: The site states clearly that you must pick up your article at the specific time and place. If you cannot do that or arrange for someone to do it for you... then don't bid.
Answer: Definitely not on their youtube channel as they've removed the ability to comment. This alone was enough for me to steer clear.
Answer: Please see our past auction results at http://maxsold.com/past-auctions/ - every auction we've done is listed for public viewing. You will see the sell through rate for each auction, and you can calculate the percent sold. Our average sell through is 98.7%.
Answer: Winning bids are charged to the credit card on file right AFTER each auction ends, along with 10% buyers premium and the applicable retail sales tax for your region. The first time you bid at any of our auctions, your card will be pre-authorized for $1.00. However, it is only a bank authorization for validation, not a charge, and it is usually removed in about a week by your bank.
