The company has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with some praising the potential for significant savings and a positive experience with customer support. However, a substantial number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding product quality, misleading descriptions, and a lack of transparency about fees. Many customers express frustration over difficulties in obtaining refunds and the perceived gambling nature of the bidding process. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the prevailing sentiment suggests caution, as numerous users report feeling misled and dissatisfied with their purchases.

Please stay away from this blatant rip off site, I wish I had researched this site prior to parting with my hard earned cash but then the site was advertised on national TV so it can't be a rip off or so I thought, I closed my account after using part of the free credits I received when I joined expecting to get my money back, I mean the demo video tells you that you will get refunded right? Not so people they kept my money, avoid this rip off site like the plague, imagine going to an ordnary auction and at the end of it although you were outbid and didn't successfully win a bid the auctioneer gave you a bill for putting your hand up you would think he'd lost his marbles well that's exactly what this site does, every time you put your hand up to bid they take money off you, absolutely incredible they are allowed to trade/operate, they should be closed down

Stay away scam and also you will not get your money back when you paid so becareful you will lose your money and also you wont get any thing. Every single bid you put on the site or any item will be charge. And also take so long for ending an auction so my suggestion is stay away.
Hi Just joined MadBid to have a look for more info but the only valid links are to buy credits. It looks obvious to me that this site is designed to take money by making you buy & bid with credits of which it takes several credits to place a bid. The nearest thing I can offer as a similarity for this is the amusement arcade machines which spew strips of tickets for endless cash stuffing through the coin slot., then to find your two million won tickets which cost you £££££sss will buy you a pencil with a rubber gonk stuck on the end. At least in arcades it obvious your chucking money away but on Mad Bid their telling you its an auction when its actually a raffle that can only be won by the last one to enter. This should be banned along with pyramid schemes and the likes, and since I joined its been endless spam Texts with unbelievable offers of free tickets and guaranteed refunds if I loose. All tactics of scam merchants and tricksters. I don, t part with money easy and have no intention of doing so here. It was obvious from the outset that this site is misleading, The lack of info and having to buy credits to win credits is a big red alert. Stay Away,
Beware! Had to buy credits before I could access the site. There was nothing on there that was of any interest but when I went to the online chat to enquire about a full refund for credits purchased but not used, the person at the other end ignored me and wouldn't answer the question until I pushed very hard for a response. I ended up ringing to get an answer and confirmation that the money would be repaid... scary... made me feel I had been mislead and was being ripped off... not nice. It remains to be seen as to whether the refund ever reaches my account. I suspect I will have to chase these people again but I live in hope:-(
I saw this online in the dailymail and this Elisabeth Morgan looked, at first to work for the dailymail. Looked legite at first.
Thought it was odd how no comments on the advert I left a comment then came up "comments closed".
Did my research and looked on sitejabber. Glad I did.
This Elisabeth Morgan is probably behind it and needs tracking diwn as she is the face of the company.
Bloody scammers..
This is a scam. You have no chance of winning anything. In my case I closed the account with then them they removed money from my bank account even though I had credit left on my madbid account. Walk away from these scammers I am contacting trading standards
Couldn't agree more with the reviews that have already been posted. Madbid is an absolute rip-off, with little or no chance of winning a bid. The company should be investigated and shut down before they dupe anyone else out of their hard earned money.
This company should be shut down like many other reviews I read I too was scammed out of £49-99 ' also the money went within minutes. Don't be sucked in few times when I bid I did get to checkout then the clock started again disgrace.
Got My item down to zero [checking] twice in same auction, they just continued taking fresh bids, what the hell, what do they care, then, the site de-stablised and I lost. I suppose it is one way of selecting their own winner.
As others have said, this a complete scam. The chances of getting items worth hundreds of pounds for anything less than their high street value are so small it's ridiculous. And the more people who hear about the site and join it, the higher the final prices will be - it's a lose-lose situation for everyone except the proprietor.
They just want to soak up your cash. A bunch of robbers. I bought 27 pounds to start, won 1950 credits--great! Then lost the lot almost at once. Shall not be using it again. It could be desperate for youngsters.
Duped, and almost scammed all my friends with this one :( really wish I had seen this first.
Calculate how much madbid makes selling items (remember each bid is around $. 18)
Also, it would be too easy to pick a buddy's bid after the bids make them $$$...
SCAM!
This is the biggest legal Scam ever pulled off in the UK!
I am ashamed to admit that I was also sucked in and money disappeared from my account without my authorisation.
Should of read the reviews.
I responded after seeing Madbid advertising their scam on TV?
Stay away!
Complete scam. I bought credits, then selected autobid for a macbook after bidding for 2 hours. The autobidding then bought me more credits without my consent. Strange the BBC and Guardian newspaper have been taken in by this. Don't touch it with a bargepole
Thanks everyone for your reviews. I had just signed up and before spending any money I thought I'd see what other people thought about it. I got the message over and over and over again. One star and "scam" seemed to appear in 90% of the reviews. Thanks again.
Wow - what an awful website, I mean TRULY awful. As others have said, it's one big con really. Just look at how much money they make on every single sale... there's no way to get a true bargain - the site is now set up for the professionals who only buy the items to sell them on. The unsuspecting general public are led to believe they can bag some sort of unbelievable bargain, which they can't and which they won't.
All the newbies come in, spend a couple of hundred before they realise it's one big duping operation before going away again.
They should really be charged with false advertising, god-awful customer service and whole list of other things.
I'm sure the Government will step in one day soon, class the website for what it is, that's gambling, and take their cut.
What an terrible, terrible company,
I too was hoodwinked and was relieved of £99.96 after registering for what I initially was led to believe was a £1.00 registration fee. However after a seies of e-mail exchanges where I was repeatedly told my money would not be refunded I have now been promised a refund of £49.98 in respect of rapid top ups only after e-mailing the ceo and threatening him with Trading Standards and also Small Claims Court action. Had I proceeded with this course of action I believe I would have been successful and a very interesting precedent may have been set.
I too was sucked in without realising you had to pay to bid. No info about this on the sign up page or the fact that they will keep your money if you do not spend it.
After some pressure they have now agreed to refund my money, see below.
