The website was really disappointing!
I came across Livecareer on Google advertisement and tried its 14 days trail. HOWEVER, after that they automatically extended my subscription for 3 months without even a single notification, although I've NEVER browsed their website afterwards.
I contacted their customer services, and they replied that they were happy to return $9.95 for me... I was charged for over a hundred and only less than one-tenth was refundable! Although they said they stated about their automatic renewal policy, I still felt like I was deceived and their solution was totally unacceptable to me. (Btw, really hope Google can stop advertising for such unreliable company.)
It was a really unpleasant experience, and I'll think twice next time before clicking into a Google ad.
This LiveCareer site is a fraud. I signed up on Jan 18 for an one time resume for 1 dollar.
Then they quietly charged me 39.80 on February 3, March 17, March 30, May 12 and May 24. Even if the renewal starts 14 days later, they overcharged me. They never send email letting you know the account is about to renew like normal companies do. They don't even send you an receipt letting you know every month after you are charged.
That's 200 dollars lost.
When I contacted them they are only willing to reverse the extra error charge and one refund. As a poor college student, I feel very angry and would file complaints on every place I know of.
Greetings Liu Y.,

Wish I had read the reviews on sitejabber.com before I wasted hours putting together my resume using this service. The online viewer was deceptive - as many people here claim, what looks like a one-page resume, after you pay to download and print it out, it's many pages long. Plus, the 7-day access I paid for came with a hidden monthly subscription to their service so I got slammed with another $34.95 a week later. LiveCareer only offered to refund part of it so I filed a claim with my bank (Wells Fargo) and they are refusing to do anything about it. What a hassle!
Dear Debbie,
Hi, I work at LiveCareer. We apologize that our builder does not reflect the separate pages and this is something we are working on adding! Give us a call and our customer service team can help with the formatting of your resume so that it doesn’t take up as many pages! We also have Writing Assistance within the builder that provides clear and concise examples if you need help to reduce your word count to make your resume shorter.
Our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.

Great at forming professional sentences without sounding too choppy or too long. Also a good variety of vocabulary and I also love that they have "pro top choice" options based on specific careers. Will definitely use this again and will be referring my friends to this website!
Thank you for sharing your feedback and rating us five stars!
Just as everyone else, I purchased one copy of my resume for around $1 for an economics project. And they charged me $40 without sending me ANY emails whatsoever about the charge. A bunch of worthless leaves charging for a mediocre service that can easily be recreated.
Hi Ricardo V, I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. I basically had the same service as everyone else on here. Although there are a couple on here who did have a good experience... That is doubtful. Maybe live career hired them to write the review. Bunch of a-holes if you ask me. I have been on the hold now for twenty minutes trying to get a refund. They probably wont get back to me either... hoping I'll hang up in frustration. Their customer service sucks. They should be ashamed of themselves. By the sounds of it that Anna girl has been quite busy writing apologies for the lousy service. Almost all the reviews have her name on it.

This company any had been taking money from my credit card since January 2015 without my knowledge! My daughter went into your site to write a resume so she could get a job for the summer holidays (yes I'm in Australia) and could didn't see anywhere on the site that there would be a continued charge after this... And what the hell is the charge for anyway, what else do they offer. There have been no further emails from you so I don't understand why there is the monthly charge? I demand a full refund immediately. Please email me before I need to take further action!
Very unhappy

Easy to use, did exactly what I needed it to, helped me create a professional, stand out resume. Also outstanding customer service. For someone looking to sharpen the organization and look of their resume, just try it, you'll probably love it.
My only con is the website itself ran a bit choppy at times, but never for longer than a few moments.
Overall, I highly recommend.
Hi Zack:
Thank you for this outstanding review! We are thrilled to hear that you had an very pleasant experience with both our product and our customer service. We are committed to offer the best experience with both of them and it make us happy to see reviews like this one. Recently noticed charges on a credit card I almost never use dating back 10 months for this company I barely recall. It was not clear (in spite of customer service rep I talked to) that this was auto-renew. Customer Service basically said: screw you. Taking it up with the CC company as only recourse. Can't wait to have the Anna B. Bot tell me how sorry she is for my experience. In spite of what she'll say, I never authorized auto-renewal. Stay away from this scam!
Hi Bruce W.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our site and did not get the best customer service experience, however our representatives were trained with utmost respect to our customer ensuring quality service using positive language.

Resume writing has always terrified me because it is the first thing a potential employer sees and an initial impression is ached in seconds. This process was kindergarten easy and the results professional. What more could I ask for? Oh, a great price, I got that too!
Thank you for sharing your feedback and rating us five stars!
This I found was wonderful for resume building as their templates are really A+. The e mails for job leads however were for a different field than my expertise or completely out of my geographic area.
Hi Curtis:
Thank you for this review! We are happy to hear that you were able to get you resume done. Also thank you for the feedback on the emails for job leads. Please feel free to contact us in the future if you have any questions or concerns.

I found this website and created a resume using there site. I remember there was a 14 day trial then it would only be a few dollars a month. Wow was I ever wrong I have been charged 39.20 for the last three months. I was never sent an email stating I would be billed this much. It never went to my spam folder but that suggestion is very shady to avoid any contact so they can keep chatting my credit card. I am expecting to have a refund and have also contacted the better business bureau about this company because they are very predatory and should be ashamed of their business practices! Don't ever use this company ever!
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.
Cancellation stops the auto-renewal. Once it’s cancelled, we send a cancellation confirmation email for your records. There are times that auto emails can get picked up as spam or junk mail. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder.

I used this site to help me out getting a resume put together and was willing to pay the fee, but there's have a recurring charge that steal $34.95 a month from you. I got hit twice within one billing cycle on my CC so they stole $70 before I got my first CC statement. Give me my money back. Yeah right, this is your hook, you've got whatever recurring charge info that is available buried in a non-obvious location. After putting in a search for "live career review" I see you've ripped off a lot of people in this manner. Eat $#*! and go $#*! yourselves. Give me my money.
Dear Mark,
Thank you for your comments.
The subscription that you purchased has a recurring billing feature and you can cancel at any time. We have not buried it in some “non-obvious” location. It is clearly on the subscription page, the confirmation AND the confirmation e-mail we send you.
We take great care in letting our customers know what they are subscribing to, as well as providing the many ways in which they can cancel. You can cancel by calling our customer service center (which is open 18 hours a day, 7 days a week), or by live chat or by e-mail to customerservice@livecareer.com. There is even a self-cancellation feature under “My Account” on our website.
If you would like to discuss your issue with a live customer service representative, we invite you to call 1-888-816-0576.
Mark, in closing, we are not in the business of “ripping people off.” We have assisted hundreds of thousands of people in creating resumes and cover letters which have gotten the positive attention of recruiters, and job decision makers. We extend our best wishes to you for a successful job search.
Best Regards,

I called and spoke with a very helpful, diligent rep by the name of Michael Rivera. I had a hard time online finding a way to enroll for a monthly plan. He advised me that I could enroll for a 14 day trial period which would cost me only $1.95, then after I could roll right into a month to month membership. I've used this product in the past and find this site to be one of the best resume builder sites out there. There are so many templates to choose from and the assistance with creating professional bullet points is so very helpful. Customer service was terrific and guided me to where I needed to go. Thank you!
Hi AD,
Thank you for sharing your experience with Michael, we’ll be sure to pass along your positive review. If there’s anything else we can assist you with just contact us.
Worst customer Service you will ever experience. Stay well away from this bunch of fraudsters. I signed up for a trial. Tried to contact the company during the trial to cancel but with no luck. They then change my account 22 quid and will not refund me. You are far better going on fiver and getting a Cv personally made for you.
While my resume was fine, however; the site makes it intentionally confusing to cancel your account. This way they can "technically" charge you the 40 dollar subscription fee. As evidence by the responses I received when I contacted customer service, and also the responses to complaints filed here by others. I do not like being manipulated or duped by unethical companies. I would highly suggest another provider for this type of service. Any site can provide templates, try some other site that won't try to ripped you off.
Hi Tracey J.,
I’m very sorry if there were confusion in cancelling the subscription online, however we also provide other ways: By phone, live chat and email through customerservice@livecareer.com.
We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing team. Please contact me again if you have any further issues.

I let my sister use this to make my resume, she said it would cost around 2 dollars. I agreed and gave her my card. Neither of us were aware it was signing us up for a 40 dollar per month registration. Note: I am a ridiculously broke college student and 40 dollars means a lot to me! Right after the charge was made to my card I wrote to customer service to see if a refund could be issued, it's been THREE days and no reply. I have no use for this site other than the ONE resume. Terrible experience, and NO help from any customer service representative, after 3 days. I am so upset. > :(

Bought a $1.99 resume template several months back. Recently was looking through my bank statement and saw i was being charged $20 dollars for a monthly subscription. I did not agree to this subscription anywhere in my initial sale. After calling the livecareer support they recommended i check my initial sale email. No such email was ever sent. Also editing your resume outside of their service is quite difficult. DONT USE.
Hi Christopher,
We are very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. In order for us to better assist you and look into this situation, we would need to request some information regarding your account with us. Is it possible to continue servicing your account by direct message?
I used LiveCareer to get a new job after being unemployed for 2 years. The templates were extremely helpful. I was able to better represent myself clearly & eloquently in resumes & cover letters. I am very satisfied with my resume!
Amazing! Thank you for trusting us with your new resume, we're so happy that you got the job!
Creating a new resume was very easy. The site offered me many examples in choosing the wording of my skills.
I only wanted the 14 day subscription but then it said it would auto renew but i could cancel by going to my account settings. Every time I try to go to the account settings it gives me an error page. Not very happy. I've sent two emails so we'll see if they respond. If I get this issue taken care of in a timely manner I will adjust my rating but if I end up getting charged the renewal fee I will take further action. I just wish I had read these reviews first because I'm obviously not the only person having this problem.
Hi Jeri J.,

Answer: This is what the site advertised: For 14 day access, $14.95, and for a year $39.80. However, signing up for ANY service aloows the site to store your payment information for further billing, and getting in touch with them, much less obtaining help is nigh impossible. After two weeks they will pull $39.80 MONTHLY from your payment method (please see my review and others on Google and yelp for further verification of this).
Answer: Do not use this site!
Answer: I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America, because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from my account. I wonder if they are in cahoots or what? I believe a class action suit may be required so we can get our funds back.
Answer: Call your bank and change your card number Call them and let them know you have contacted your bank and will contact the better business bureau of you don't get a full refund. Then contact the better bBB and file a formal complaint. You will have a refund within a week. That's how I got my money back
Answer: Dont waste your time trying to contact them. I went to my bank and had all future billing refused AND I went to the State Attorney General and reported them.
Answer: Hello, Sarah - Thank you for getting in touch with us, our subscriptions are auto-renewing, we have a continuous billing feature that charges your account after the 14-day period and every month for the regular price afterward. However, if you are only interested in the 14-trial and wish to avoid any recurring charges simply cancel your subscription before beforehand. We hope that this helps clear things up for you, if you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know. Best regards, LiveCareer US
