I found this site to be very misleading

I found this site to be very misleading. It advertises as a free resume builder then turns around and charges you to download at the end. Thanks for helping me with my resume, but no thanks for the deception and lie!

To clarify, we offer two types of accounts, the first one being a basic access account that gives you the chance to try out our builder before deciding to purchase our premium features, this account allows you to download a plain text version completely free. Something Shady...

What this website does not let you in after the fact that you've created your resume is that they charge you a fee to link you with other hiring companies. I knew right off the bat something wasn't right. Good thing I didn't process my credit card via this website. No one should ever have to pay a fee for creating a resume online, but now I'm even concerned about my personal info leaking out without my authorization even if I've kept my personal information private.

I purchased a trial membership for 3.95 to help my son write his resume'. After using the template, I cancelled my service before the trial period ended. I have been charged $34.95 for the past two months. I have emailed them numerous times with no response from their end. I am now about to chat with them on line to see if they will refund my hard earned money! Theives! And after reading the reviews from others that have had the same experience, I just feel like kicking myself for not researching this website before buying! Horrible!

I read a lot of posts complaining about the under handed tactics for this service, not! If you read the agreement it very straight forward. I paid the nominal fee, canceled in 5 days, and for $4.95 made a very good resume. PS I got the job!

Avoid at all costs!

Absolute scammers, even if you only pay for a single transaction with them, once they have your card details they will involuntarily opt you into their monthly subscription plan of £13.50 every 28 days and will continually change their vendor i. D to circumvent you stopping payment aurthorisation with your card issuer. When challenged, they deny you have an account with them and then wont respond!

Oh, and they claim, unlawfully, that you automatically agree to their terms and conditions because you visited their website even though they don't make you implicitly aware.

Avoid at all costs unless you like being financially exploited!

Terrible

So awful it told me it would only be 1.95 for 14 days and i thought it was a good deal however they charged over 20 dollars from my account i keep trying to take my credit card off but they only send me emails saying a representative will contact me in a couple days so i guess i just have to keep paying while they get back to me. A total scam and waste of money!

I used this site to update my old resume and cover letters, and I really believe that my cleaned-up resume helped me land the job I wanted. The samples and templates are helpful as well as the vocabulary features to help you really say what you can do and focus your resume's purpose. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I think that its monthly fee was awfully expensive for a service that you'd really only need when changing jobs and interviewing. When you contact them to cancel, however, they do offer a much lower pricing. Josue was excellent and courteous as well. Really appreciated his help today.

I am a single mother of two children trying to graduate nursing school. I used the $1 resume. Which it did not tell me it cost money until I completely finished it. I paid the $1 fee.
Not even two weeks later (14 day trial) my account is charged $40. I try to log into Live Career website and my account shows no membership or resume that I had created. I see I am not the only person who has been scammed. I want my $40 back. Worst part is I paid for My Perfect Interview through my college tuition already and it should have been free from the get go.
Please fix this problem and make it clear for future users. As clearly by your reviews you guys are not putting the prices out there! I will be calling, emailing, and hoping to hear from you soon. If not resolved the local news will be hearing about it.

Just found out my last day will be on a few eeks due to layoffs, but was also told about job openings with a contractor that works at the firm I'm currently with, so I needed to quickly create a new resume and create an online profile to apply.

Terrible site
August 21, 2013

Terrible site. I only signed up for the $1.95 to print the resume. Yesterday they took 34.95 out of my account without my permission. After much haggling they agreed to refund my money minus a $2.56 service charge. What a scam. I will report them to the States Attorney General.

Overall good.
Didn't know from the beginning that completing the resume would cost $
It worked well and I was not unhappy to pay the small $2 fee for a one page
Resume and 5 minutes of help with a template.
Would have preferred to know the terms up front.

Superb Customer Service

Excellent service. Caring customer service reps, that understands the importance of a resume to obtain a job. Reps like"Adriel" who will go out of his way to provided with superb service is un heard of in these days. No machine, can replace actual interaction with a human person, that actually cares, and well represents their company. 100% scam, never buy this product. I am so sorry not to read all the comments before paying 2$ for initial subscription. Going to my bank to ask for help today and better way to sue this company.

We are currently challenging a total £92 taken off my wifes credit card over four payments We signed up as my son was 16 and looking for first job. The cv trial had a small charge but at no point is it mentioned the monthly payments of £23. My wife used her credit card but as this was for my son his email was used. After the initial payment my son had received an email which said Thank You. Unknown to us was it also contained details of the payments that would now be taken. We are challenging as the card holder was not informed, only the end user who at 16 would not be reading finer print. Currently have not received a reply to my complaint and request for refund. We will dispute through our credit card company. Stay clear of Live Career is the only advice i can give anyone

While this website has very good templates for resumes and cover letters, the trial subscription is very tricky. The company should send out a reminder notice to customers ASKING if they want to continue with the subscription at a charge of $39.80 every 4 weeks or if they wish to cancel. This can be set up as an automatic message and requires very little work/cost for the company. People searching for jobs get too busy to remember when the 14 day trial is up and the charge goes through in their bank accounts. Then customers call to cancel and the company claims it is a valid charge because "we do our very best to inform the customers of the upcoming charge to their account at the end of the trial period." It's basically a very clever way of getting money from people.

You force or attempt to force customers to pay some type of money by not stating that this is not a free service in the beginning rather than at the end when users have already have spent a lot of time building the resume. Its a shady way to do business and I will never do business with you again.

I had great service! Dude apologized profusely every time he had to put me on hold for 30 sec. Max all of two times AND he got me what I needed! Hold music could be better, like classic rock or something? Still wish it was cheaper or free and didn't have to call and could cancel online if need be but Idk, these people have aimed to please and hit their target. I hope I get a job soon...
