Legal Shield is a good concept for those needing ongoing or specific legal counseling as needed. However, the issue as of lately is the mediocre service quality of the attorneys currently staffed. I currently have legal shield and post covid, it seems as of the quality of attorneys working for the Durham, North Carolina office (Merritt Webb) are less than desirable. The attorneys are rude, condescending and rough around the edges. I would go as far to say they are this way due to their lack of competency.

Once I can find a better option, I will be canceling my membership

I called the law firm to make a file that I may be audited and will need the hours allotment in the plan after paying for 13 years. They cancelled me immediately. I am seeking to find others who have been wronged to file a class action.

I have used Legalshield many different issues and they solved all my problems. I am extremely satisfied with their service. I saved several thousand dollars in one attorney letter. Also they recommand attorneys and they are always available to resolve my issue. I have so much peach of mind with this company. I love Legalshield. On the other hand I had employer sponsored ARAG legal service and their services are the worst. I paid several months monthly membership fees and all of them waste. This company is cheating and will go bankrupt. I called for help to resolve my employment issues which they said they don't offer employment related legal matter. Other instance I called for issues I was facing in setting up brokerage account which they said they can't handle or resolve any of the brokerage account matter. I called for my son license suspension matter and they opened the case and recommended attorneys. None of the attorneys were returned my calls. This company must be banned from doing the business.

I have Legal-shield for over a decade and although I had some issues with them in the past, overall, I was happy with their service. I had spoken with great lawyers in the past and I appreciate their service and dedication. I always recommended legal-shield to others; however, I need to put a stop on this. I hardly write a review, however, I feel the need to do so now because my recent contact with legal-shield assigned law firm was a big disappointment. For the sake of legal-shield and its customers, I should write this review. All I wanted was to ask a simple question regarding a hospital overcharging bill. The case was assigned to an attorney to call me. This attorney was playing a game of phone tag for three days and I simply could not reach her because she was not available. The attorney was leaving me a voice mail without first calling my phone and this is totally unacceptable. After three days, I called the customer service and the manager in customer service. The customer service/manager could not understand or did not want to understand the explanation of not reaching the attorney and did not want to believe what has happened. The best they could do was to give me one month of subscription. The time that I had spent to go through all of this nonsense had cost me more than dollar value.
The case has been deescalated for someone from HQ to call me and answer my concerns regarding my case. At this time, I have lost all my faith and confidence with legal-shield.

Do not pay them a dime. Literally connects you with what has to be the worse attorneys in California. Would a quality attorney really be partnered with legal shield. I paid for a membership to get help on a specific situation and going on 2 weeks I haven't got the help and customer service makes you file a complaint only to have the attorney reach out and give you the same answer. The attorney that was assigned to me sent me documents for the wrong county and then told me to cross it out and fill in the correct county and couldn't assure me that the court would accept it, then stated that if they didn't accept I would have to type the document out myself…so what did I pay for a membership to speak with an attorney for?! You're better off handling the matter on your own, well at least in my case

Deceptive practices and hard to cancel subscription. I had Legal Shield subscription for several months and needed their advice regarding some fraud case. Lawyer called me just to say that they only would consider my case if I upgrade to business plan. Legal Shield also make you jump through hoops in order to cancel your subscription. First I spoke with rep who tried really hard to convince me to keep my subscription, then she transferred me to an automated message that informed me that cancelation is only temporary unless they receive written request from you to cancel and if they don't receive it in writing they will resume charging your credit card.

I have called my lawfirm many times over the last 14 years. I'm so grateful that they sent a lawyer to court for me in another state when I was frivolously sued. It didn't cost me a cent.

I also got my Will prepared several times over the years at no cost other than my membership. I have saved on average $1500 per year by having LegalShield. It feels good to have a place to call whenever I have questions or issues. I love knowing my children also have 24/7 protection in emergencies.

This business is trash. I've had more then one horrible experience, which span over 20 yrs. I will never return again. I had two serious issues and I had to hire an outside attorney to repair the issue. Legal Shield did nothing. I called the emergency line multiple times and was promised a call back, which never happened. Everything that was promised in an email wasn't completed or even attempted. They do not listen to you. They ignore your cries for help, I mean literally ignore you. After a month of headaches, the associate pretended like they were upset and would promise to repair it. So I trusted them, but nothing was done. I spent hours and weeks, three to be exact, on the phone, sending emails,etc,. But nothing was resolved. It was like a circle of continuous drama. Call this person, fax this, email that, oh they can't help you. Okay, do it again. It was crazy. What made matters worse was that I began to notice that the associate wasn't for me, but was just dragging me along. I felt used. They just care about the monthly residuals. I'm sure when I'm done, I'll get that lame apology. I've heard tons of apologies, but nothing ever changes. So save it. And I'm disappointed.

They spend more time trying to appear legitimate than they do actually provide a real and useful service. They've been totally useless with every person I know who has used them. The attorney who got after review of a contract told us, "We'd probably be ok"...and then when we questioned them further they admitted they had NEVER READ THE LEGAL DOCUMENT. After 2 weeks they got back to us with the exact opposite answer they had given the first time. They gave legal advice on a contract without reading it. And I promise you they will spend more effort to quash any negative review than they will to fix that horrifying behavior. They BBB rating is a joke and a carefully maintained lie.

I was driving out-of-state and drove in front of a high school the moment school got out. At that moment, the speed limit changed and a cop was sitting there, waiting to catch someone. The officer ticketed me on the spot. I took a picture of the ticket and sent it to the LegalShield firm. I was in shock when a fantastic attorney showed up to appear for me in traffic court. I walked out without any points on my record, and everyone was staring at me (assuming I was very wealthy) because I had an attorney, in a 3-piece suit, appearing for me over a measly ticket.

Second time, I was driving on an unfamiliar highway when the speed limit changed three times within a matter of blocks. I was ticketed. Same scenario: I snapped a picture of the ticket and sent it to the law firm. They had an attorney appear for me the day of traffic court and the judge dismissed the ticket, without any points on my record.

I know enough about insurance to realize the thousands of dollars I saved without two tickets on my record. I didn't pay one extra dollar for these services, above my monthly membership fee. Very satisfied and relieved to have this service; I won't have to worry about insurance premiums when my son starts driving because kids are covered on the plan. One less (Huge) stress in life.

I didn't even know services like what LegalShield provide existed! It makes perfect sense! I became a member because I wanted help and direction with establishing my will and trust. I wanted my "i's" dotted and my "t's" crossed. LegalShield not only guided me in the right direction to a very helpful lawyer and team but also allowed me to save $1200 in the process! I'll take it…. And I'm keeping my membership for all of the "what if's" in life that sneak up on you when you least expect it.

I have the good fortune of having this service for over thirty years. Used it dozens of times and always gotten great help! I highly recommend these services for getting advice, reviewing contracts, writing letters and so much more!

A business contact shared LegalShield with me ten years ago, and I really didn't understand the value of it at the time. Since then, I have used this service to assist me in selling my home, helping me through tax issues, landlord/tenant issues, they walked me through filing a conservatorship (saving me $20k), helping me with questions during Covid, writing demand letters for faulty mechanical work on my vehicle, medical malpractice help, countless questions answered on forming a business, they filed my LLC and had it back to me in 3 business days, they wrote demand letters to clients who were late in paying (I collected over $20k thanks to demand letters from the firm), answered my ADA questions when I remodeled a commercial building, answered my questions about hiring/firing employees, HR questions and numerous other matters. I find that many people have a misunderstanding about what this service is, and what it isn't. Do they represent you for any legal matter for $29.95? No. Can they tell you exactly what to do with your legal matter if you haven't retained them? No. That's not what this service is for. Can you ask them unlimited questions and get a call back very quickly? Yes. Can you even call back and ask to speak with another attorney? Yes (I've done this many times). Does any other lawyer in the land guarantee a call back within a certain timeframe? Absolutely not. Will they review your contracts and documents within three business days? Yes. Will they get an attorney for you to talk to anywhere in the United States? Yes. The idea is you have unlimited legal access with high-quality attorneys and you only pay a measly $29.95 per month. Over the past ten years of using this service, there have been attorneys I just didn't like. I called back and they gave me a new one, much like being assigned to a doctor you don't prefer. I wouldn't be without this service and appreciate the peace of mind it gives me.

The service that the law firm provides has been consistently outstanding! I have utilized the service for over 15 years. They are knowledgeable, professional and kind. They have saved me a ton of money. They get results! They have earned my membership for a lifetime. I highly recommend it!

This has to be the worst company I've ever worked with. They literally ruined my case and about got me charged with contempt of court because they failed to provide what they said they would provide.

Feldman Kramer & Monaco, Legal Shield law firn provider in New York, could not write a simple demand letter to obtain my mother's medical records. They wasted 3 weeks of my time before referring me to an elder care lawyer that does estate planning for a fee. You would have thought that I requested a constitutional amendment. The process was completely riduculous. On a separate matter, I needed a Civil Court attorney. Feldman referred me to an attorney that handles traffic tickets! I was so angry. The attorney's website says traffic tickets all over so there was no excuse for Feldman to make this referral. Legal Shield offers NO advocacy service. They will leave you hanging with your legal issues. Complaints to Legal Shield fall on deaf ears so do not waste your time. It is a shame that they are not monitored by any legal standard. I guess I should just take my complaint to the Bar Association. Perhaps, an ethics committee would help them understand their obligations.
