We spent hours separating pictures in separate bags with separate stickers. And they put them all on 1 DVD. A total waste of time! And impossible to share with multiple families with their own generations mixed in. The only positive is, the Lady I spoke to was very nice. But, unfortunately wouldn't do anything about it.
My grandmother had an old reel to reel tape recorder which she used all the time when I was a little kid to record the grandchildren and her and my grandfather. He played the accordion and she played the guitar and sang. My uncle finally sent me 5 reels he had saved. I was in tears listening to my grandparents play and sing again after not hearing them for 40 years. Thank you Legacybox for doing such a good job. Now all the generations to come will be able to hear them.
Sent material in January, has been waiting for a "slot" to open for completion since March 22nd. Do not believe any positive reviews as they maybe posted by the company itself. Cannot reach the founders of the business to escalate issue - advised contact info not available for them so no other recourse.
I believe I sent 11 of my dad's 16mm film reels from the 1950s in for conversion to DVD.
Best thing I did. I was afraid because of their age not all would come out, but they did.
I see myself as a child, long gone beloved relatives and family friends, and many vacation and holiday memories.

They did deliver the digitized results as promised. However, they failed to put our apartment number on the box of originals that was shipped back (photos and VHS tapes). Our precious mementos could easily have been lost or stolen. When I complained about this, they were flippant, and tried to blame it on UPS. But UPS told me that Legacy Box did not give them an apartment number. For a supposedly high-end service that brags about their careful quality control, this is unacceptable.

What you were previously told is correct, while we do not edit the address you provided from the time you placed your order, there was an issue with UPS shipping labels not including apartment numbers. If I could give them ZERO STARS, I would! I placed my order and paid at the end of November. I did not receive my box to ship my tapes back to them until after Christmas. They say they receive them on January 11. I had planned for them to be a birthday surprise for my husband on February 23. That did not happen. The last update they sent me was on March 10 saying that my tapes were being digitized. I received no other updates & was getting worried about my tapes. I called them today and they could give me no further updates, so I asked for a full refund and my tapes back. The refund has already been issued, but I'm really stressed out that I won't get my tapes back. They're very valuable to me. I would definitely not recommend this company at all.

Legacybox reached out to me by e-mail to let me know that the quality of the videos wasn't the greatest, but they tried their best. I honestly didn't know what to expect because the videos were over twenty years old. I was able to watch the videos in the end, which I'm absolutely grateful for. I'll definitely come back with more videos to be converted.
I truly wish I came to this review site before I purchased from these jerks! 4 months ago I trusted my treasured childhood film footage from the 60s and 70s to this company legacy box. I then waited for 4 months for them to Return. One thing they never make perfectly clear is they do not transfer the sound from videos Or restore anything. Also I did not receive one call back or response from my phone calls and promises to return my call within an hour. Obviously they're getting a lot of complaints. This is the last place I would ever go to to do this kind of project again. I seriously suggest anyone considering them go to their competitors.
My elderly parents, 87 and 85 years old moved in with us and we thought it would be a good idea to use Legacybox to update old movies. What a mistake! We sent in our order on April 2,2022, paid over $400, (the check was cashed in a timely manner) Today is August 14,2022 and still no product! I wanted these memories for my parents to enjoy, not to play at their memorial service! The Order Number is L*******. Can anyone help!

I received someone else's video and mine is missing. The company has done NOTHING to fix this. No return emails or phone calls. I'm hoping to find the rightful owner of the video I did receive which is footage of a Houston livestock rodeo. I'm also hoping to find my video which is footage from high school days of family and friends around 1995. Do not trust this company with your personal belongings.
They start contacting you right away, order received, then assigned etc.

Sent in some OLD 8mm rolls I found in my Dad's stuff recently! And the First VHS tape we ever taped 35 years ago! So got to see me as a kids and my grown children when they were very little! What a treat! What a service Legacybox has! The whole experience was great! Fast and lived up to every promise! Thank you Legacybox!
Marisa (customer service) was very prompt with replies and information and was very courteous. However, I'm exceptionally disappointed in the constant offers (and I mean constant) through texts and emails about a promotion that all extra items were $9 on sale. This is why I sent them in as extras after I ordered my original order. I didn't think I would be denied the promotion- I wasn't told why I wasn't eligible for it, only that they were already discounted from $17.99. At that point they had all my items and there was nothing I could do. This isn't the way to do business- my family has been in business from car dealerships to retail stores in malls. I won't do service with them again.

My wife has been in Florida for 5 weeks now with her father, who is dying. We had three old 8mm films from his honeymoon, and of his three children when they were young. I had them converted so he could see them before he passes on. He was very appreciative. He said to my wife... "Look how beautiful your mother was!" We also had some old Digital 8 videos of our daughter when she was little. Many firsts... steps, birthday, haircut, Disney, preschool graduation. The camcorder broke long ago so it was a joy to see them again. Also, our wedding video on VHS. VHS player broke years ago and cannot be replaced. I told MY daughter, "Look how beautiful your mother was!"

I received as a gift the chance to digitize our slides from "Legacy box". After going through 800 some slides determining which to have done.
After receiving our memory stick we found a large number upside down. I tried to contact them by phone having nothing but challenges. I left a VM to return the call and that didn't happen. Today 6/30/23 I'm being told they don't have an actual file it's deleted after x# of days. I would need to go through all the slides to figure which are upside down to have them corrected. Ship them in for a redo. This would have to be done within a week or a new order would need to be written. If I had requested a down load they could help but not a flash drive.
Talk about absurd!
This company is definitely NOT customer friendly!
We had several 8mm home movies, a few even smaller reels, vhs tapes, slides, and even photographs. The 8mm and other reels were not viewed in years, didn't even know if we would ever get to see them. We took a leap of faith, boxed everything up and sent it away. And with great surprise they were all returned along with the smallest flash drive. Our entire family history condensed into 1 easy to use drive. We all watched, laughed and cried. It was such an awesome night to get to see movies of relatives that have passed and videos of all of us when we were young. Overall awesome experience!

My order was received on January 3 it is now April 27 and no direct answer on when my order will be completed. I reached out to the company and the basic answer was "sorry we are in our peak digitizing season".

I placed my order 3 months ago. Still waiting... they say the order is still in production. I'm so disappointed. Not what they advertised. I'm now very worried about the quality of the items I'll get back. I sent many items and have spent almost $500 to have them digitized.
Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Just put a note in your box if you have a PAL tape. *Film: 8mm, Super8,16mm, and Super16 A note on sound: Since sound on film is so rare, and to ensure we're providing the highest quality transfers, it is not our standard process to digitize film with sound. *Photos: 35mm Slides, Photo Prints (up to 8.5 x 11"), and 35mm Negatives A note on photo packaging: When sending in your photos, slides, or negatives, we ask that you remove them from any extraneous container, group them in bundles of 25 and place them in clear plastic ziplock bags or envelopes. *Audio: Standard Audio Cassette Tapes, Mini Cassettes, Micro Cassettes, and 1/4" Reel-to-Reel Audio If you have any more questions, let me know. Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
