I've dealt with many lawn servicing companies as yard work is something I'm not too fond of. Scheduling with him was a breeze and how quickly they were able to come out and get the work done that I needed was a shock to me. Usually places are a week or so out but this company makes it a point to get out there and do what needs to be done. I'm very happy with the service and quality of work he's performed.

I spent the last two months trying to get lawn service at my home. I went through two companies and three lawn people. Not a single person showed up to mow my lawn…ever?
I finally went with LawnStarter. The process was simple and strait forward. My lawn looks fantastic and I couldn't be happier.

Excellent and Affordable Service

Setting up my service with the app was easy and and only took a few minutes. As soon as I was finished, I heard from Samuel, my lawn care specialist. He was great at communicating with me, showed up on our agreed upon date and time, and did a spectacular job! He went above and beyond and and left my lawn looking amazing! I highly recommend this company and, very specifically, Samuel!

Great Service

Very pleased with Joshua and his partner. Joshua's observations about lawn condition prompted me to check my sprinkler system and he was spot on identifying the timers were set too short for a couple zones.

NOT DEPENDABLE

Don't hire these guys. I've been trying to use them for over 3 years and they're NEVER dependable. They will go weeks without showing up, can't keep people and often do a terrible/ uneven mow job. They're going to get you fined if you live in an HOA.

LawnStarter was ok at first, only couple issues, always rescheduled and crew would come later and later in day. Finally ended service when they mowed through our fruit tree, basically cutting it down. They didn't have the common decency to tell us about it, but we found it about 30 minutes after they left. I immediately let LawnStarter know and sent pictures. They basically treated us as liars despite prompt notice and photographic evidence. Then they had us jump through hoops to try and get reimbursed for a new tree. We are still arguing with them about it! Customer service number wasnt helpful in the beginning, didn't do anything to help resolve issue.

Finally after bad reviews I was called, refunded for the service date in question and ensured training would be done to avoid future bad service help.

Don't Use

They don't loose 5-minutes to ask for review looks ok on surface then when you inspect maybe not. They already charge your card. Filing reports don't get a warp speed response they take money first. Site is scam because they do charge even if you are not happy think twice before hiring. They weed whacked plant to death. Looks like pencil

LawnStarter needs to refine their vendor assignment process. I say this because a day before I was expecting mowing service an email was sent to me saying my order was canceled. I had to resubmit my request and then hoped someone would show up. I had use the text the pro option within the LawnStarter interface to make sure they received my request. Upon arrival the vendor did a great job but the order they received only had me down for my backyard versus my entire yard. I don't know how someone at LawnStarter screwed up because I've always requested my entire yard be done.

Summit Gardening the company LawnStarter assigned me did a phenomenal job on cutting down my weeds and raking up everything they mowed. I definitely appreciated them paying attention to my special instructions by picking up everything they mowed and weed whacked versus just leaving crazy debris all over the yard.

Easy affordable lawn care

Pros: affordable, ability to add services as needed (leaf removal, shrub trimming, etc), ability to easily change frequency of services. Ability to add a tip. Landscapers do a great job, and my lawn looks great. 5/5 stars for landscapers.
Cons: Notification requesting a review after every service. Unwanted notifications for other services. Emails requesting reviews. 3/5 stars for app and annoying notifications & emails.

Stolen money

My acct with LawnStarter was hacked. I can't get anyone on the phone. They do not care about homeowners or helping the service provider. Terrible business practices! Do NOT USE!

As advised in our previous response through the BBB review you have been informed that your funds will be deposited into the correct account this week. As for last week's funds, we are still awaiting further updates.

Additionally, as mentioned, you are a self-employed contractor, not an employee of our company. We don’t receive notifications when someone on your end updates your information. Any changes would have required access to your login details or device, so the update was processed as though it were you.

I want to clarify that implementing and managing security measures falls outside the scope of our responsibilities. However, I strongly encourage you to take proactive steps to secure your information.

Here are a few recommendations:
> Use strong, unique passwords and update them regularly.
> Enable two-factor authentication where possible.
> Limit access to sensitive data and monitor who can view or modify it.

These people are HORRIBLE! Criminals they still your money! They have you sign up for services that they are not sure their contractor are going to do! But they will take your money! Who in the hell wants their yard mowed without getting the grass up when they finish? So they promise you things like this and can't stand on it because they done talk to there contractors! These are supposed to be clipped?

Terrrible service

They only cut the front yard. I tried to text them numerous times with no response. I cancelled service. I went to another loan care app.that had a quicker response time and many more bids. I still had to pay full price for 1/3 of a yard cut, twice.

Great job

Jose and team did a great job covering all instructions for my lawn. My backyard is filled with a lot of fruit trees and Small planted plants thru out and once instructed not to cut those Jose did just that. I thank you for your service

Deceptive Advertising
August 22, 2024

Was looking for a one-time mow, their website says they offer a one-time mow. Ask for a quote, they call me and tell me they require a minimum of a three-mow service. I say I'm not interested in that. They text me the next day saying they have an exclusive offer for $19.00 of the first mow, call or click the link. I click the link; it says they offer a one-time mow again. I text them back and they say they require a minimum of three mowing services. I say I'm not interested in deceptive advertising practices; your website says you offer one-time mows. They say thanks, let me know if you change your mind. Ridiculous, honestly.

I've been using LawnStarter to service two of my properties, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. Most recently, the lawn care professional failed to show up for a scheduled appointment without any prior notice, leaving me waiting for a service that never happened. To make matters worse, there was no communication about this no-show, which is incredibly frustrating when you expect reliable service.

Communication has been a consistent issue. Five days ago, I asked the professional a question through the LawnStarter app and only received a response this afternoon. Not only was the response delayed, but it also came with an unexpected upcharge for long grass—without any warning or discussion beforehand. I understand that additional fees may apply, but transparency is key, and I should have been informed about any price changes in advance.

I've outlined all of these issues in my communications with LawnStarter, which you can see in the app's inbox for further context. The lack of professionalism, from unreliable scheduling to delayed responses and unexpected charges, is unacceptable.

I also have three other properties that need regular lawn care, but given these ongoing issues, I need much more reliability, communication, and professionalism moving forward if I'm to continue using LawnStarter's services. I hope the company will address these concerns and improve the overall customer experience.

Terrible Service. Damaged neighbors Grass

My yard was supposed to be cut on the 15th. Today is the 17th still no cut or heard from the provider. Now it's saying on App the 17th -19th for cut. I have event today I have had to cancel due to my yard not being cut. Not professional at all. Did poor job when they came on Aug 17th. Damaged my neighbors grass and drove off. Now LawnStarter said I have to track him down. Don't use this company. Not worth the hassle or triggering my PTSD more.

The LawnStarter business model is not for me. I expect a quote from a pro who looks at my lawn; not an old photo from Google Earth.
The bait-&-switch from Thumbtack.com to LawnStarter is bad; all my required work was ignored.
I should not be robocalled to connect me to a salesman. My phone service screens out robocalls, so those attempts failed. Bad tech.

Colin and Anthony came to do the work and did exactly what I wanted and were very quick about it. This has been a good and useful experience.
