VERY INFORMATIVE
August 15, 2018

THIS COURSE IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND STRESS FREE MOVE AT MY OWN SPEED. THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD HAVE MADE IT BETTER IS IF I WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE ONE HOUR IMPACT VIDEO THAT IS REQUIIRED BEFORE ANYONE IS ABLE TO GET YOUR PERMIT OR LICENCE FOR THE FIRST TIME

My experience is bad with idrivesafely.com
1- IT USES FLASH. Flash is a very old technology, not all browsers and mobile phone include it. I had hard time getting the course running on my phone.
2- The course material is old, it's not consistent, some animation, some videos taken from documentary, some from very old material dated back to 2007 and older.
3-You cannot move to the right video you have reached to, you have to manually skip forward to reach your sub section chapter video.
4- Some videos ends, but still you cannot move forward until the timer hits 0! Which makes my just wait for around 80 seconds after the vid ends for nothing.
5- After each chapter there's a quiz of around 10 multiple choices questions, after you submit your answers you get your score and which question you answered wrongly, but they don't show you what is the supposed correct answer. So what is the purpose of learning.
6- Course material are dull and very boring. The narrator voice keep changing person and the picture of the video stays still not reflecting what the narrator is talking about. E.g. He was talking about some traffic sign and the video showed only few of them, then the narrator kept talking about other types and the video never showed them, how am I suppose to learn!

First of all, the website's design is misleading, having you believe it is a fairly organized business that might provide a better drivers ed program than the ones offered by other sites. In fact, the site, once it has taken your money, turns into a complete waste of time and money, with a very poorly constructed drivers ed program. After paying $80 for a Georgia Drivers Ed program in order for me to get a license, the advertised price then changed to $30, and I have now wasted a minimum of $50. I then called the company to question them about this, and after 25-30 min I hung up, impatient of their complete lack of responsibility. I then tried to email them on their site, and the SUBMIT button DOES NOT EVEN WORK. I am now very sad I did not look at the reviews of this site and would lie to warn others to STAY AWAY and I hope their company burns.

Do not use this company! First off, know that if they offer to let you purchase downloadable a certificate of completion, that it's actually a ridiculous piece of paper that says "for your personal records only, not to be used in court." Their website is really misleading so I paid extra for the certificate thinking I could take it to court with me to show the judge I completed the course. Had i known it was some ridiculous certificate only for my records, I wouldn't have wasted the extra money.
Second, I hope that you don't have any problems with anything, because they are IMPOSSIBLE to reach. Their email form says that if you email them you'll get a response within 24 hours, but I emailed them last week and still have had no response.
Which leads me to my third point, don't bother calling their customer service number. Their stupid automated system is a waste of time and it's impossible to speak to anyone. I ended up getting disconnected because it asked me to enter the abbreviation for the state I was calling from and it didn't seem to recognize that Wisconsin was a state. I tried 3 times, so it was definitely not operator error. Eventually, I ended up talking to someone, only after calling and pretending to want to purchase a course, so unless you're going to give them money they don't want to hear from you.
Please don't waste your time and money by taking these courses from this company!

I had a terrible experience with I Drive Safely. I paid the $30 fee for the class unaware of an arbitrary automatic lock on accounts older than 180 days. Their website said to contact them to unlock the account, so I called customer service.

They said they wouldn't unlock the account unless I paid an additional $10 fee! I asked them if it was possible to waive the fee since I already paid for the course, but they refused. I even talked to someone in "upper management" who rudely explained that they were trying to charge me an extra $10 as a courtesy (not sure how that makes sense). She even tried to suggest this nonsense was somehow a result of coordinating with the courts. There's no way any courts are trying to get them to charge ridiculous fees... which she finally admitted.

Also, they claim the fee is in their terms and conditions, but it is NOT! Unbelievable. There are plenty of other options out there, so find another online driving course that isn't rude and doesn't try to screw their customers.

Flat Out Terrible
September 11, 2015

There are many reasons why I hated the driving course. Firstly it was boring, too long, and it never kept my place. After HATING the course they never sent me my freaking certificate! I had an appointment to get my permit tomorrow but now I can't because they never shipped the certificate! I FINISHED THE COURSE A MONTH AGO. And now they are charging me more money to buy a new one. Truly unbelievable.

Run for the hills. Waste of time, money, energy. I took the course, got up to chapter 5 only to fail their bogus voice recognition program. The rep switched me to keystroke verification and that didtn't work either. I was coached to try again by starting FROM THE BEGINNING. I did and got up to chapter 3, only to get the warning that I'm not passing the voice recognition. Before I got the fail, I called customer service and supposedly their tech support team will help with this. ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK.

The videos are really informative and the test were actually easy but the fact that i have to start over all because it didn't recognize my voice is very frustrating i wish i would have read the reviews before purchasing this online course EVERYONE PLEASE BE AWARE

I would like to apologize for the dissatisfaction that you experienced with the New York State DMV-mandated authentication systems and that you found yourself among the 1%-5% of students who experience an issue with the system. The NY DMV requires that we use these authentication systems and that they are set to the exact parameters set by the NY DMV. Unfortunately this means that we cannot adjust them or change them in any way, or else we would no longer be able to offer classes in New York. The information about the authentication system and the automatic course failure caused by failing too many authentications is explained on our website at https://www.idrivesafely.com/defensive-driving/new-york/pirp/faq/?vID=z2Xb&eID=860#ci-q9. This information is also included in the Terms and Conditions for all of our New York courses, which one must read and agree to in order to complete registration. The applicable section reads as follows: "AUTHENTICATION STUDENT understands that for identity verification purposes, the COURSE PROVIDER may utilize one or all of the following methods for ensuring the identity of the course participant: 1.) The COURSE PROVIDER shall include voice authentication process to be answered at the beginning of the course. STUDENT will be required to meet a minimum of 7 voice validation requirements throughout the course in order to validate the personal identity of the STUDENT. 2.) During registration, if STUDENT is unable to successfully enroll in the voice authentication process, a secondary keystroke biometric process will be implemented. In this instance the COURSE PROVIDER shall include keystroke biometric authentication process to be answered at the beginning of the course. STUDENT will be required to meet a minimum of 7 keystroke validation requirements throughout the course in order to validate the personal identity of the STUDENT. Failure to provide the correct voice pattern or keystroke imprint results in authentication failure. STUDENT shall have two chances to fail authentication, after which he/she is logged out of the course thereby losing credit for all sections completed to that point. STUDENT will be redirected to registration pages and he/she will have to re-register and restart the course from the beginning." I apologize for any confusion you may have had when reading this information during registration and for any inconvenience that may have caused you. Thank you. I liked being able to take this course from the comfort of my home. I was sick and unable to take the instructor lead course on Saturday, and though I should not have waited so long to take the class, I am happy to say I got it done. I never read any of the reviews prior to taking this class, only that it was approved by the DMV in New York, which for me was really all I needed to know. My only issue is that at the end of spending 7 hours straight watching the videos and taking 8 quizzes, there is a "Final Exam Score" page, and though I passed each one easily, I had no percentage whatsoever. It literally says, "FInal Exam Score:" and then nothing after that. I am going to court tomorrow and it would have been much more comforting to be able to show the prosecutor that; "yes i did take the course, and yes i passed." I guess I will know more in 2-8 business days which is the amount of time for them to deliver the certificate. I really think as a suggestion, this website could do the people a solid by letting them print out an official certificate of completion so that folks like me would be able to bring some evidence in when going to court. I get that they need to notarize the certificate but something with my score and the amount of time spent taking the class would really help me not look bad trying to explain this in court. All in all I thought it was time well spent and much better than the classroom class any day.

We purchased the drug & alcohol course that is required by the state of Florida before you can get your permit. The website offered for an additional $25.00 to take the permit test online. I called prior to paying to ask if there would be a discount at the DMV when I took my daughter to the DMV to get the permit. They told me at Idrivesafely that the most it would cost is $10.00 for the actual permit card & the hearing and vision test. After getting it all done on there website, we went to the DMV and they told us that the "third party" website ripped us off because we have to pay the $54.25 with them regardless. Yes, the Idrivesafely.com sends the DMV the info that you passed the tests, but it doesn't save you any money... It actually costs you more... Your better off just taking the Drug & Alcohol test that is required and taking the test at the DMV... the Idrivesafely.com claims they are saving you money, but in all actuality they are ripping you off and don't care... I called them and spoke to a supervisor to get my money refunded, he then put me on hold and then hung up on me... I called back, and this happened twice more...

TOTAL SCAM!
October 17, 2019

From the beginning, my videos wouldn't play. I messaged them through their website multiple times and all I ever got was an auto-response via email. I finally got my videos to play with no help from them. I figured out that their videos needed flash to play, and even though it says it can, it can't play on Safari. My videos had been working, they were a little slow, but they were still playing until I got to to the second chapter in my course. I had done maybe 30 minutes of videos before it stopped working again! I emailed them this time explaining that I had been having trouble with their website since the beginning. When I got no response, my dad and I decided to read some of their reviews looking for some kind of help. Going through their most recent reviews we saw that not one of them was positive. Other people were complaining about their HORRIBLE customer service, and everyone who was able to complete their course never even received their certificate! This place is a total scam!

They tell you its compatible but omce you register you can't get any help. LOW DOWN DIRTY MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY
