I did the test last year and got throught it no problem. Idk whats going on but this year the voice authentication check is all kinds of faulty. Cant even recognize the voice that I LITERALLY JUST SETUP with no noise. Ive failed the voice check 3 times now and im on the last chapter. I swear to christ if i fail again im gonna get a fraud claim, get my money back and pursue some legal action against the website

I was reading all the bad reviews and I'm not sure how some folks ended up with the fails. I find idrivesafely's exam and course prep acceptable. Of course this is a DMV exam and it is super boring. Basically, as a licensed driver one should already know most of the rules so going thru the course should be a breeze. So I just looked over the refresher sections and just scanned thru it. So just make sure you have a good mouse and your index finger ready to click thru the exam parts. I complete those first and if I fail then you just read over the course material for review. This should prep you enough for the finals. I have taken idrivesafely's courses over the years and i have always been successful. I like the convenience it provides. Those that are unsure of online exams should try out the tons of online questionnaire's prior to purchase. I did this when I had to take my class b at the DMV. DMV questions are tricky. So again, this is boring but it works. You can save the sections you go over if you don't wanna do a marathon. You don't need to be tech savvy but I suggest you to have basic skills, I've read reviews where people had issues with Windows closing on them or getting a 0%. If any of this might be an issue for you then maybe just do a live course because in the end it's important one must pass the exam. Good luck!

Certificate Shipping
January 8, 2017

Very very disappointed. The course in general was easy for me and the website is well structured. However they didn't ship my certificate on time. I finished my course on Jan 2nd (Monday) and had chosen 2 day express delivery. I mentioned my court due date was the 10th. They didn't process my shipping till the 6th. 7th and 8th is weekend. I am receiving my certificate on the day it's due at the court. Thanks iDriveSafely. Why the hell did I pay extra $20 for express delivery if you are not gonna process it on time?

I am terribly sorry that your certificate was not printed and mailed as soon as you completed your course. Unfortunately, one of our printers malfunctioned over the holiday weekend, which led to some Virginia certificates not being printed correctly. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. I have submitted a request to have your shipping upgrade refunded. I hope that this helps to alleviate the inconvenience.

THIS SITE IS HORRIBLE!
September 10, 2013

THIS SITE IS HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY! They say this is an iPad accessible site, WRONG! I had to call customer service SIX times because it would not process me to the next phase. Long story really short, I had a handful of personal crap arise in my life so my testing became rather last minute... This site requires probably a week to complete because I'm guessing a 5 year old wrote the Internet script. This has to be the worst site I've ever spent money on and I want my money back. I'm not the person to request refunds but this site is THAT BAD! Please do yourself a favor and tell ten people to stay away, I know I will!

I got the issue with voice verification and got stuck there (fail 2 times). I sent email to Monserrat (*******@edriving.com) and report the problem. I got the feedback and the call support to resolve the issue within the day. Now i can continue the course with my current progress. I am really happy with people from IDriveSafely. Strong recommend.

I got 1/3 the way through the course and for whatever reason failed two of the voice verifications and was told I had to start the course over. This course is junk and the voice verification system is faulty. I then waited 10 minutes to speak to a representative who told me that they could only redo the voice verification for the purpose of me restarting the course. I asked for a refund and was refunded the total amount. I however was not refunded the time I spent taking this course which ended up being a waste. DO NOT USE THIS COURSE!

I got kicked off the website constantly. I would complete one small section, click next, get kicked off. I got the same error message every time "There has been an error and the administrator has been notifiedPlease try and login againWe apologize for the inconvenience" no matter what browswer i used or what computer i logged onto. I emailed customer service, no response, i used click to chat and kept the chat open while i worked, an hour later there were still "0 chats ahead of you" and I was still "connnected. Please wait to be attended." right. Nobody ever showed up. Horrible. Horrrible waste of time! Made the course at least four times longer than it should have been.

Bad verification system! STAY AWAY! I signed up for the course yesterday. NY State law requires that you be authenticated prior to each quiz. There are 8 in total. I have laryngitis so I was unable to do the voice verification. Had I known this prior to registering I would have waited till my voice was back to normal. Instead of the voice verification they switched me to keystroke verification where you have to type 6 letters the same exact way each time. So that would be same exact timing between strokes, same pressure, etc. Prior to the first quiz I apparently failed the first verification. Did pass it on the second try. Prior to the second quiz I apparently failed again. Now, NY State only allows 2 failed attempts and then you are removed from the course and need to start all over. REALLY? I called the company and after 3 frustrating hours they said as a courtesy they would put me back into my course, but would not be allowed to do it again. I decided since it was probable that I would fail the verification again, since it is impossible to type EXACTLY the same way each time, I would call my credit card company to dispute the charges. After saying that they offered me a full refund to avoid "all that paperwork". I am calling my credit card company just in case. I would NOT recommend you use this site. After doing the first 2 chapters it seems very informative and easy, but their verification system needs to be improved. I prefer to pay the higher insurance fees than take their course.

I have not been able to reach customer service for 2 days. Is this website inactive? I paid over $70 for the teen course in April 2015. How do I reach a representative? Can I get my money back?

Such an arduous course! I had to take it after getting a ticket for doing seven over in middle-of-nowhere West Texas from a state trooper. You have a timer on each page and you can't progress to the next page until the time expires. There are hundreds of pages in this course and you always find yourself staring at the timer because it only takes a few seconds to read through the page. If you fail a section you have to completely take it over with the timers. Why? I already spent six hours going through the content once? Why do I have to spend another 45 minutes on top of the six hours redoing a section? Just let me review the material I've already gone through at my own pace and retake the exam at the end of the section.

You will be absolutely miserable after taking this course and will have to wait a few hours just to let the steam vent off before getting behind the wheel again. If you haven't had a ticket recently just get it deferred and don't waste the extra time, effort, and money taking this course.

What a scam
November 21, 2014

What a scam. My son did not complete the course i the "alotted" time period. School and work inrtuded. They charge you $20 for each 30 day extension of the course. As if they computer is inconvienced by the fact my son didn't get on and do the course in thier prefered time frame. Nothing disapears off the internet. The only reason for the rush is making more money. SCAM!

Wasted my entire day, failed voice verification at the end of the course. Had to request a refund, since there is no guarantee that this wouldn't happen again. Very disappointing.

DO NOT use the voice recognition verification system. It is terribly inconsistent. I am literally sitting in the same room, at the same desk, in the same chair, holding my phone with the same hand on the same side of my face. I am not using a headset. I am speaking with the same vocal cadence. I have failed the voice recognition twice already.

I just completed Chapter 5 of the course and called iDriveSafely customer service to see if there is anything else I can do to prevent myself from having to take the course over again.
Customer service basically said "Sorry. It's a sensitive system and there's nothing we can do about it. Even something as simple as a fan can set it off."
I am probably going to have to take this course all over again. Learn from my misfortune, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, avoid the voice-verification. Take your chances with the keystroke thing. Or, like me, if I fail it again, get a refund and take the test the old-fashioned way at the DMV.

I used to think there was nothing worse than the DMV, but now there is -- iDriveSafely's voice recognition.

I am very sorry that you were dissatisfied with your course. Unfortunately, the state-mandated authentication systems are required by, and regulated by, the state and we are legally bound to use the systems as designed without changing them in any way. We include information about these systems both on our website and in the Terms and Conditions one must read and agree to during registration. I apologize for any confusion you may have had when you read this information and for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you. ABSOLUTELY WORTLESS!
November 10, 2015

After almost a month of calling (and sitting on hold for 20-30 minutes every time) and emailing (goes to nowhere) trying to get my course to start I finally gave up. Had to file for an extension on my court date so I could find another online course and actually get it done. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS SITE!

Never again!
July 31, 2015

Be warned! This company is about as fraudulent as can be, it's not the same program that my daughter used two years ago, very user friendly in the past, but due to new state regulations they require the student to use a verification system to ensure honesty of the student. That's great, however, they're software program completely sucks! We watched our son fail voice recognition and PIN # prompts repeatedly, after eighteen failures, the student fails the course and they want you to start over and pay again! My son had invested over 40 hours into this course and the program stated that he was only 60% complete. We had made several calls to the company voicing concerns about the integrity of the system and its technical issues however they stated that there was nothing wrong with the system, we took screenshots of the PIN# prompt, his phone entry of the correct # in the allotted time frame and the notice that it was invalid, unbelievable! After logging a complaint with a supervisor when my son failed his 19th failure, I was told that there was nothing that could be done and that he would have to pay again and start all over. My advice to you is to find a more reliable online program, or enroll your child in a local driving school, and warn everyone that you know about this company... Good luck!

I would give them 6 stars if it were available.

For less than $25 I was able to get my insurance defensive driving. Discount certificate saving me over $100/year for 3 years. Definitely worth it. The alternative would be giving up a saturday to go sit for 6 hours at a local AAA, the closest AAA to me is 40mi away. So I saved driving + time spent elsewhere. I could do this at my own pace right from home.

Yes the course is boring but it is from the DMV so what do we expect? Also the people who complained that they ran out of time is unfounded. The site is very upfront about state regulations, and they send like 3 emails letting you know you have 30 days to take the course. This is not the company but is the state regulations.

I took the same course 3 years ago, and got my certificate right on time as promised. You really can't beat this value.

Maybe those that had problems didn't read all of the terms, or the classes are different, but I have never had a problem.

I would recommend this to everyone

Total RIP OFF!
December 9, 2013

Total RIP OFF! My daughter's account was locked. In Texas, you have to wait 6 months to obtain your license after receiving your permit, during this time, her account was locked and i had to pay ANOTHER $20 to unlock it so she can finish the course and obtain her license. This was on top of the $140 I already paid! SERIOUSLY - THIS SITE IS A JOKE!
